(OOC: Thread begins following these two posts.....)Walking inside the Main Castle and through the first floor towards the kitchen, Sarah wondered if she was doing the right thing, wondered if she wasn't giving in too easily to Nelson. Yes, she thought, they'd been chased all over the area...and yes, Nelson's spectre had hung over the group like an ugly apparition, but as she looked at it, now that Tamara and her people were at San Simeon, the running, the rats-in-a-cage mentality they'd sometimes suffered from, ended today.
Entering the kitchen, she saw Masumi standing with what appeared to be a shocked look about her; walking over to her, Sarah gave her a long, warm hug and said, "I'm sorry you had to hear that display out there, love, but I needed to do that, not just for us here but for the whole region in general. Nelson," pausing to point towards the man, "and I are going to talk about some things and I'd like you to be a witness to our conversation, so that if things go south later on, someone will know what said." Sitting down at the group's kitchen table, she sipped from her cup of coffee and said, "Nelson, if you'd like to sit down, we can begin talking; like I said outside, talking never killed anyone..."
Nelson stood in the doorway a moment looking over the kitchen. It was nice, almost pre apocalypse nice. Like stepping foot in the past. Simpler times when things like peace negotiations were done between a former reporter and a former life coach. Nelson smiled warmly at the invitation. His little visit hadn't gone as planned. He had been monitoring the radio chatter, and not a peep about his name had came up, yet he stepped foot in this place and suddenly he was the devil. Now they wanted to sit down and make a deal with the devil. Nelson felt odd not having his glasses on. And he looked more sinister without them. His normal bookwormish appearance that set people at ease, made them underestimate him were smashed to bits under the heel of Buster's shoe. Something he would pay dearly for in the future. Nelson looked over to Masumi who was looking rather nervous by his estimation.
Nelson: Hello. Don't be frightened. I'm only here to talk.
Nelson turned to Sarah. His smile faded.
Nelson: I think witnesses are a good idea for this meeting. That way it's not your word against mine. If things go bad here, I want someone from my group present. Someone who can verify to the rest of my people what was said. Is that okay with you?
Nelson didn't wait for an answer. He simply reached down and plucked his radio from his belt. He turned the knob raising the volume and called out to his people that were just outside San Simeon. It would take them about five minutes to get here.
Nelson: This is Nelson. I'd like you to send Kennedy up here. We're having a little meeting and i'd very much like her by my side for it.
Placing the radio on the table Nelson sat down. This wasn't a trick or a ploy. He wasn't giving a secret signal to attack. He simply wanted someone from his group here to hear what was said and after the discussion was over, they would leave. His intentions before this sudden turn of events was no longer relevant. His interest was peaked by Sarah's outburst. He wanted to hear what she had to say, what she was offering. As in chess, so as it was in life he would let her make the first move. Always let your adversary make the first move, you can see their strategy, their intent, their strength or lack of it for that matter. It was always best to react, rather than act.
Nelson: Should only take a few moments. My people are not far.

As Sarah tried to relax, she head Nelson talk to Masumi a moment, then say to her, I think witnesses are a good idea for this meeting. That way it's not your word against mine. If things go bad here, I want someone from my group present. Someone who can verify to the rest of my people what was said. Is that okay with you?
"Fair enough," Sarah replied, taking another sip of coffee. "I already have my witness here," reaching over to grasp Masumi's tender hand in hers, "so unless there's any objection, we can wait until your witness gets here, then we can talk." Looking around and seeing Larry pouring a cup of coffee, Sarah coughed quietly and said, "Larry, grab a few thermoses of coffee so if anyone wants anything to drink, they won't have to come inside to get anything." It was a subtle way of asking him to scram for the time being without being so obvious; taking another sip of coffee, Sarah continued to try and relax but thought to herself, am I doing the right thing here? What if I'm wrong and Tamara was right after all?
Kennedy was sitting in an old junky car with her knees propped up on the dash with a book splayed on her knees. One of the guys in the group was at the wheel, boredly drumming his fingers as they waited for any sign that Nelson needed them. Suddenly the radio between them crackled and Kennedy picked it up and turned up the volume. Well….that was unexpected? A meeting? She frowned and dog eared her page and looked over at the confused guy. “Well…you heard him, drive.”
She sat up and readied her weapons before straightening her coat. She was dropped off at the gate, her accomplice drove away and left her to stare at some people who appeared…on edge. What the hell had happened? Was this meeting something horrible? She lifted her long dark hair and straightened the collar of her long black coat. Her dark eyes falling on one of the men at the gate. “I was called to a little pow wow…care to let me in?” Her fingers curled around shotgun which she leaned back against her shoulder. The man seemed uneasy…letting in someone armed that wasn’t familiar seemed…careless…But as far as he knew she was but a friendly stranger.
He had heard the com message as well and nodded to one of his companions with her. Eventually they reached the room where the meeting was being held. The guard stopped her and nodded to the wall beside the door. “Just leave your weapons there huh? Never know how people are these days…” Well…that was a little alarming…but she complied. Slowly sitting her revolver and her shotgun down beside the door but not removing her knife that was hidden beneath her coat. He nodded and let her inside.
She was hit with the smell of coffee and the sight two unfamiliar faces and Nelson. Everyone seemed at ease…which was a good thing. Kenny nodded her head in greeting to Nelson before her dark eyes shifted to the strangers. She wasn’t about to go spouting off hellos…she didn’t know what was up. So she leaned her hip against the table and let her eyes flick from the strangers to Nelson. “Well…I’m here…” She said unnecessarily.

Sitting quietly inside one of San Simeon's kitchens, Sarah watched and waited for Nelson's witness to arrive; once that person arrived - Sarah nodded to her quietly - she took another sip of coffee, settling her nerves down some more. Setting the cup down, she looked right at Nelson and spoke. "I just want to know something, Nelson: why have you and your group been chasing my people and I around these parts of California the past year or so? As we all saw earlier, your group could've barged right in at anytime and laid waste to us; we probably would've lost but you'd've had a bloody mess and a wrecked stronghold to deal with afterward...
"...that said, I just want to know why? There's not very many people in this part of California - you know it and I know it - so there's really no reason for you to terrorize this region," Sarah continued, her face a blank poker expression so as not to give away anything of value, "and while I'll fight for everything and everyone here, I'll not shed blood that's unnecessary to shed," and neither will Tamara if I have anything to do with it, she thought to herself. "So I want to know for starters, Nelson...is why you've been doing this? Why?"
Post by Masumi Lyell-Haru on Dec 1, 2016 8:39:39 GMT -5
Masumi watched as everyone was starting to gather into the room. Smiling a bit as Sarah had placed a hand inside of her's as she told Nelson that Masumi was her witness and that they were to wait for his own witness. Nodding her head, Masumi didn't say anything. Just sipped her coffee a couple of times and set the mug down onto the table surface. When Nelson spoke to her, she didn't reply, just smiled at him in return to his smile. A knocking on the door came and her attention was faced towards it as a female came walking in. And as if she owned the place, she leaned her rear onto the table. Masumi raised an eye brow at the display of what was going on. Standing like a statue, her eyes slowly rolled down to Sarah who was sitting next to her. Sarah was talking about how they could fight, but she preferred to do things peacefully first. It was how Sarah was for a long time now. That if a disturbance had broken out, she would rather end it peacefully rather then act upon violence. Masumi thought about how Sarah was going about it and realized that Masumi herself was alright with doing it half and half. She could live with peace, but also dealing things in violence if it was needed.
When everyone got settled and the meeting was about to start Nelson reached down and pulled the tomahawk from his belt. He held it up and looked at it a moment before handing it back to Kennedy to hold onto for him. He didn't feel the need to wear it during this meeting. A demonstration of his eagerness to have a peaceful conversation. Handing the tomahawk back to Kennedy, who was right behind him Nelson spoke.
Nelson: Kenny will you hold this for me? Thank you my dear
His eyes never left Sarah, not from that moment forward. Even as he reached back to hand off his weapon his cold steely gaze stayed locked on herself. He was studying her, trying to gain information from her. He saw before him a woman who was conservative, by every meaning of the word. Her shirt was tucked into her pants her collar seemed pressed and even the buttons at the wrists of her sleeves seemed to be neatly buttoned. Odd attire for the state of the world, but there was an expression that seemed to come to mind, as Nelson looked at Sarah. Everything in it's proper orbit. Nelson's smile grew as he began to notice the little things about the room that was sending useful information his way. The handholding for instance. Nelson's eyes wandered, only but a moment to look at Masumi. She was important to Sarah. Interesting. Lovers perhaps? A lesbian lover for the straight laced conservative. She had interesting layers, Nelson thought as he hand crept down into his jacket pocket. He listened to Sarah speak as his hand felt the object in his pocket. His thumb sliding over the familiar button as he pressed down on it. Before bringing his hand back up to meet his other on the table. His little action had gone unnoticed and now the meeting was officially started.
Before Larry could leave as Sarah requestion Nelson called out to him.
Nelson: Larry, was it? I'll take a cup of that.
Larry looked around startled and then made him a cup before promptly leaving the room. Nelson brought his cup of coffee in front of him, much like Sarah did. Mirroring her calm exterior. His feathers were not ruffled in the slightest. This was a game of chess, a race to the checkmate and he was particularly fond of chess.
Sarah: "I just want to know something, Nelson: why have you and your group been chasing my people and I around these parts of California the past year or so? As we all saw earlier, your group could've barged right in at anytime and laid waste to us; we probably would've lost but you'd've had a bloody mess and a wrecked stronghold to deal with afterward...
Nelson sighed and leaned back in his chair crossing his legs. He looked at Sarah for the longest of moment's before answering.
Nelson: Do you know what I did...... Before the outbreak I mean....... * He gave her pause to think about the question before answering.* I was a life coach. I helped people with their everyday lives. I solved their problems. As small as they may be I worked on them as if they were my own problems. Perhaps a bit of stress over an important interview, the stress of a new baby in the home.... Whatever. I ...... Solve problems. That's what i'm doing for my people solving their problems. You telling me, that you've never had to get your hands dirty in this world? Come now Sarah. We all have. Now...... If you want me to trust YOU, if you want these negociatioins to go any further than these cups of coffee then I want you to tell me something truly horrible you've had to do to survive. If not, then I don't think I can believe a single word you say frankly, the status quo will remain the same and I guess my people continue to "terrorize" the area.
Nelson leaned forward still holding the cup of coffee between his hands.
Nelson: What evils are in your closet Sarah?
His smile was gone, he had instead on his face a look of great interst.

What evils are in your closet Sarah?
The question hung in the air like a Damocletian sword, ready to fall on Sarah at the first opportunity, but as Sarah thought about Nelson's question and his earlier comments, she knew she would have to bare a few things at the table. "What evils, you ask?" Sarah began, taking another sip of coffee and looking straight at him. "You ever had to kill someone and take what was theirs in order to survive? You ever had to look someone in the eye and tell them to give up their stuff so that you could continue? I've had to do those things...most of the first year after everything fell apart, that's pretty much what I had to do to survive," kicking back her chair and standing up. "How dare you tell me, Nelson, that I haven't had to get my hands dirty," pulling her blouse up from inside her jeans and lifting the back up; underneath, one could see along the lines of Sarah's lower back the faint outlines of where a whip had lashed her skin.
"See those scars? The ones on my back?" Sarah continued, tucking her blouse back inside her jeans and sitting back down. "In the weeks after I got out of the Bay Area, I fell captive at the hands of someone who thought nothing of using the lash to get someone to obey; for about a month, I had to endure some pretty," pausing to look away for a moment before continuing, "some pretty horrendous tortures and every single day I prayed the opportunity would come to kill my captor....and when that day came, Nelson? I took it!" slamming her fists down on the table hard enough to rattle a few cups and dishes.
"My last image of that...that...that bastard was him lying on the floor of the mansion he held me and several other women at, him trying to hold his guts in where I'd shot him," Sarah continued, taking another sip of coffee and trying to settle her nerves. "After about ten minutes or so of listening to him moan and moan, I actually considered being merciful and putting a bullet in his head but I didn't; instead, I turned and walked out of that mansion and never looked back.
"is that the only evil? Probably not, but compared to that time after the world fell apart, everything else is just gravy, Nelson," Sarah said. "But the toll, Nelson....the toll; that's something you can't express in words....and when I got here, I promised myself that I wouldn't run it as a dictatorship or as my little fiefdom but as a place of solace, of peace in this now split-open world. Yes, I meant it when I said there'd be no blood shed here, Nelson; I also meant it when I said we'd fight for every square inch of San Simeon...and every day, I still get my hands dirty, whether its' maintaining those cisterns you see along the access road or checking the fencing along every part of the grounds or pulling a regular watch, so don't you fucking dare me I haven't gotten my hands dirty, you understand me, Nelson?" By now, Sarah's eyes were the color of fiery blued steel and she'd tear everyone apart in that room if she had to, that's how committed she was to protecting San Simeon and everyone there...
Nelson watched as the conservative suddenly became uproariously angry at his notion that she had done nothing to get her hands dirty in this world. Nelson raised his cup of coffee and took a modest sip as she stood and showed him the scars on her back. His eyes rolled over the disfigurations with only mild interest as he continued to politely smile at her. So, seems as if Tegan is not the one in charge here, It appears that Sarah is. He thought quietly as he listened to her go on about murdering a man to save herself, as she talked about killing someone to take what was theirs so that she could survive another day. It wasn't something he hadn't done himself, but he deplored violence, for violence sake. He only applied "required violence." The fact was, he wasn't as savage as everyone had made him out to be. He wasn't the Boogeyman that everyone trembled at. He was just.... A man, taking what belonged to others so he and his people could survive another day. His methods may be a bit, theatrical. But if you're going to do something, do it with flare, do it with pizazz. Nelson set his cup down about the same time she was slamming her fists down on the table and he almost spilled his coffee. He looked up a little annoyed that she almost caused him to do that, but it was only for a moment before he was once again smiling politely.
Nelson: My, sounds like a dreadful experience. We've all had to do those things Sarah. So when you say that I've been terrorizing your people, I really do take offense to that. I'm simply trying to ensure our survival. You seem like a smart woman Sarah. You really do. And because I believe that you are smart I'm not going to insult your intelligence by denying that it was me and mine who were chasing you and yours. It probably was us. You see...... * Nelson leaned forward again, his voice no longer polite, but cold, emotionless; sterile.* I don't want to simply survive any longer. I want to fix the world Sarah.I believe the world truly can be put to the way it was. With intelligent minds working together to solve the problem we'll get there. My people are very smart Sarah, it would be unwise to underestimate us.
Nelson said leaning back and taking another sip of his coffee. He wasn't so much threatening them, but simply stating it. Sarah was hard to read, she seemed on the one hand very conservative and peace loving, but she also flew into a rage at the mere mention of something that slighted her, she was a little erratic and that could work in his favor in the future. He wanted to hear more about her though. He wanted to see more of that fire that burned her up so quickly. Had he hit a sore subject? Or was she prone to outbursts. If these negociations were to be successful he'd have to understand the woman sitting across from him. After all, you can't have peace with an erratic leader...... Otherwise you might be forced to employ "Required Violence." That was such a messy affair.
Nelson: Sarah. What exactly is it you want from me? Because I can tell you right now; I have a few things that i'd like to happen if you want any kind of peace between our groups. But before we get to all that. I'd like to hear what it is you propose.
Nelson wanted to see where her head was at. See what she required of him, and then he would tell her what he expected in turn.

"I'm sure they are, Nelson; after all, no one - on either of our sides - makes it this long without having some smarts," Sarah replied, still shaking a little bit from having to tell her story from earlier; before she could continue, Nelson added, Sarah. What exactly is it you want from me? Because I can tell you right now; I have a few things that i'd like to happen if you want any kind of peace between our groups. But before we get to all that. I'd like to hear what it is you propose.
Blowing out a long breath to compose herself, Sarah laid out her thoughts on the issue at hand. "For starters, an assurance from you, right now, that the terrorizing stops. Second, an assurance from you that no one from either my group or Tamara's will be messed with outside; you don't bother us, we won't bother you." Remembering what Nelson said earlier, Sarah thought about it and said, "Nelson, when you said you want to fix the world, what did you mean by that? Its' only fair to ask."
Nelson listened to her list of demands and though they weren't unreasonable, he wondered how he would identify someone from San Simeon if they bumped into them out the outside. It's not like they were wearing matching uniforms. A problem to be worked out later, but for the most part her terms were agreeable it seemed. For the moment anyways. He continued to listen and nodding and smiling as she went on, and then she asked him what he mean by fixing the world. An inquisitive mind. Nelson's ego would not allow that question to go unanswered.
Nelson: I told you. I solve problems. It's what I do. I have a few scientists working on an answer for.... Well, all of this. No more walking outside your walls and wondering if you're going to be torn apart by teeth. Those poor departed souls (Nelson's word for the walkers, "The Departed" ) will finally be at rest. Not having to walker around the earth endlessly. You see Sarah, every group that I take over, that I've added to my little band of merry men; I've only taken the best and the brightest to join me. I'm building a Hive Mind if you will. A community of problems solvers all working on the same goal. End the outbreak. It was my intention to kill everyone here and spare the best and brightest of your people to join me, *looking around the room he saw Larry poking his head in the door evesdropping.* As few as that may be from this lot. I agree to your terms, if you agree to mine. I want three of your people. To join me, hand selected to be in my group. No harm will come of them, they'll be treated as good as any other member of the group. Instantly accepted into the fold and treated as equals. A trade of sorts. Peace, for resources, in this case the resource is intelligence. I want to tell you right now Sarah, that this is a one time offer.
Nelson leaned forward and grabbed his coffee taking another sip from it not letting his gaze leave Sarah's for even a moment.

Sarah went off like a whirlwind. She was in an uproar and her eyes watched as her lover took her blouse and lifted it up to show the whip scars on her back. But Masumi looked back to Nelson as he sat there. They both were going back and forth at each other as Masumi stayed quiet this whole time. Masumi would be lying to herself if she didn't think that she wasn't worried. The truth was, she was worried at how this discussion was leading. Letting such thoughts wouldn't let her put it across her face as she stood there being the witness her lover wanted her to be. When she heard the fists hitting the table, she jumped a bit for it was a side she had Never seen her lover at. Picking up her coffee, she drank the rest of it down and walked over to the sink and set it in. Turning back around, she walked back over to Sarah. Pulling one of the chairs, she slid it next to Sarah and sat down next to her lover. Taking off the UMP .45 off of her, she hooked it onto the back of her chair so it was still accessible to either herself or Sarah, in case things went south. But how it was going, it didn't seem it. Her left hand rested on Sarah's lap as she sat there.
Nelson's voice tone changed to that of being cold. Masumi looked at him even more carefully, then went to his Witness who was still there standing there. Masumi placed her right hand on her own lap as Nelson continued about taking three of they're group of his choice. It was a bit confusing to hear a man go from sounding all sweet and caring to that of a stone cold killer. One with no emotion as he explained that he had scientists who were trying to find a way to end all of this. Was he stating that they were working on a cure? Surely that was impossible. If the CDC wasn't able to do anything in the first year or two, what did they have that the CDC doesn't? Narrowing her eyes just a bit, a feeling wasn't right in the pit of her stomach as her left hand squeezed a bit on Sarah's lap. Masumi remembered Bri. who was studying the dead. Then there was that new comer, Alexander Pepper who was a teacher. Frowning a bit, this was a bit of a tough pill to swallow for them. Times were tough for them. Lack of numbers and the resources. But that was then, now they had more people. Weapons, vehicles, and better yet, People who were trained by military personnel. So they can defend they're own. It would be a thin line that they would be stepping. Sighing to herself, she felt that this would be the end of they're slice of paradise to be replaced by something else.
If it wasn't for the outbreak, her and Sarah wouldn't have met. They wouldn't have expressed how they felt for each other and even started to love each other. Things were bad with the dead stumbling around and threatening to kill the living by feasting upon they're flesh and organs. Thinking a bit more about it, she was remembering the conversation that had been said. He had taken over other communities to add to his own and would have killed her and Sarah's group, but he was going to show mercy to them if they were to do this trade and have they're groups to be one and the same. It was all to funny to think that it so happened when Tamara showed up. Numbers was always a matter of living these times and They're group grew ten fold in a matter of a day.
Masumi: May I ask you a question Nelson? I've been sitting here listening to all that was being said and taking notes about everything. This all sounds like a great plan and all, but I find it hard to believe that you want peace after the fact that Sarah's sister Tamara had joined us. So I would like to know what your End game truly is? Since you only want Three of our members, you could have come to us ages ago, but our Group's number just increased Ten fold and you come asking for peace. One would presume that you are trying to grasp at some straws. I maybe wrong, but when you work in Naval Communications as long as I have, you tend to learn how one behaves with how they speak and with what they say when certain matters unfolds. To me, the second for Sarah here, I tend to be the silent one who listens to conversation's and be the logical mind of the two before choices are made that concerns the group as a whole. If you dont mind Nelson, I would like a moment with Sarah here and have a talk with her before anything is set in stone. You've waited this long already, whats the harm of another ten minutes to wait while we talk this over.
Nelson looked over at Masumi when she began talking. Though he disregarded her first question entirely. It wasn't him that was hungry for peace. Sarah was the one wanting the violence to stop. Nelson would be happy to go to war, either way he would get what he wanted. So when she asked him why he was so desperate for peace now, he knew instantly she wasn't one of the one's he was looking for. With a wave of his hand he excused them to talk about whatever it was they wanted to discuss. He checked his watch.
Nelson: You have five minutes, if I don't have an answer by then, the treaty dies right here at this table.
Nelson finished his coffee and waited for whatever it was they were going to talk about. He leaned back and spoke to Kennedy when they had some privacy of their on.
Nelson: We'll wrap this up quickly. I need to get back and get things ready.
Nelson checked his watch again and this was taking to long for his liking. Still, he had something to think about. Peace, between the two groups. Nelson had his radio on but it was turned down low. He heard a transmission come in about Talon having found Taylor. It was all he needed. Taylor still had something he wanted. And though Talon was very loyal. He was also easily bored and sometimes didn't know when to stop at a person's limits when "entertaining" himself. This was a matter that had to be seen to right now. He couldn't wait for Masumi and Sarah to finish their private conversation. Nelson stood up from the table. He nodded to Kennedy.
Nelson: We're leaving.
Kennedy simply nodded back as Nelson looked over at Sarah who was amdist a discussion with Masumi.
Nelson: Something has come up, something that I have to see to personally. I have your frequency, I realize what i'm asking may be a bit much for your to process in one sitting so i'll take my leave now and give you three days to think about it.
Nelson started to walk out and stopped in the doorway. His hand fell back in his jacket pocket and pressed stop on the tape recorder in his pocket. He had recorded the meeting, every word that spilled from Sarah's mouth.
Nelson: It was lovely meeting you Sarah.
Nelson said with a wink as he left the room. He pulled his radio out and sent out a message to his people.
Nelson: Everyone start heading back home. Start heading out. We have a lot to discuss.
Nelson made it outside and back to his punch buggy and gave Kennedy a lift out of San Simeon. He made it through the doors as they opened up to let Ramona Kelevera and Samuel Bryan inside ( See Family ties thread ) Nelson left San Simeon with Kennedy to plan his next moves.
Nelson Needermyer and Kennedy J. Ericsson have left the thread..... Nelson has left to allow Sarah to think things over, and to consider his offer.

Before Sarah could reply to Nelson, Masumi spoke up, asking him several questions and then requesting a short break so that her and Sarah could discuss the situation; as they conversed away from Nelson and Kennedy, Sarah could see how tense Nelson was and thought, he's holding back something; I've been upfront and he's been holding back...but on what?
Then, as they continued conversing, Nelson suddenly got up and told them his side was leaving; why, he didn't say but it was apparent to Sarah that something had happened; as he stopped at the doorway, he wished Sarah good day and walked out of the room...sitting down, she held her head in her hands, wondering if she'd made the right decision. Looking over at Masumi, Sarah asked, "Well, love, what do you think?"

While the two were talking, Nelson stood up and excused himself before leaving. Telling Sarah that she will have some time to think things over. When he left the room, Masumi let out a long breath of air. Sarah went over to the table where Masumi would follow her and sit in her seat like last time. Sighing a bit, Masumi brought her fingers to her temples and began to gently rub each side. Her brain was racing a mile a minute and was throbbing at this point. Her eyes slid to the side when Sarah asked her on what she thought. Reaching across the table, she grabbed the Cup Nelson used and slid it over to in front of herself. Pulling out a pack of Cigarettes and a lighter, she lit one and blew out the smoke as she dropped both the pack and the lighter onto the surface of the table. Cracking her neck and wincing a bit from a loud pop, she would then say to her lover.
"What do I think? I think there is more at Stake then one would think there is. *Takes a drag from the Cigarette and slowly blows the smoke out as she continues* Is he hiding a few ace's up his sleeves as you may say, Yes. I think he is. When he dropped to that...Cold look with a voice to match it, I think he is hiding more then he is letting on with us. I find it rather particulate odd that he mentioned he has Scientists working on finding a cure. If that is true, then how come the CDC of your country here wasn't able to find such a cure? Weren't they the smartest in they're fields of medicine that they could whip up a cure for almost any disease known to man? Yet he takes over other groups with they're smartest and brightest, but what happens to those that aren't Bright or smart? Does he leave them off to the side or does he kill them? He leaves more questions than answered." Sitting back and taking in the situation that they find themselves in, she would take another drag, flicking the ash into the cup that Nelson used.
"In my opinion, I don't fully trust him. Then again, I don't have a good feeling about the whole lot your sister brought with her. I guess you can say I'm protective of my future wife to be. Maybe we should talk to your Sister Tamara and see what she thinks of it since she brought the man power and has probably seen alot of things in her time and travels thus far." Smiling, she reached over with her free hand and grasped Sarah's hand into her own and held it gently. Masumi only wished she knew what Nelson truly had up his sleeves so she could plan around it. But she didn't know, and it scared her greatly.

"He's definitely hiding something," Sarah said as her and Masumi sat in the kitchen, their coffee cups in front of them. "If he weren't, why would he sound so confident, you know?" taking a long sip of coffee and parsing her words. Looking over at her fiance, Sarah softened and said, "Masumi, I'm sorry you had to see that display earlier, especially those scars on my back," leaning over and resting her head on Masumi's shoulder for a few moments. "I've tried to push those awful memories out of my mind the past two years, but when Tamara arrived, I couldn't help but think about that first year...and now this," pointing towards where Nelson and Kennedy had been sitting. "Tamara, Zeus bless her, doesn't even know about those scars on me; if she saw them, she'd go ballistic and want to kill whoever did it...never mind they're two years dead, but still..."
Thinking about Masumi's earlier words got Sarah to thinking as well. "Something else I don't get: Nelson said he had people working on figuring out how this all got started...like you said, if the CDC couldn't figure it out, how could he? That's something I don't buy one bit," shaking her head as she remembered what Nelson had said earlier. Getting up from her chair, Sarah added, "I better see how Tamara's doing; knowing her, she's probably still stewing over what happened outside....but I suspect she'll get over it. And I do know this, love: no matter what happens with Nelson, we are having that beachside wedding, you know?" grasping Masumi's hand and squeezing tight.

Smiling gently as Sarah placed her head on Masumi's shoulder. Bending her left arm and twisting her wrist so that her fingers could gently touch the skin around Sarah's neck. When she asked for forgiveness, the response would be fair and gentle. "No need to apologize hun. You have a reason for everything and I will trust your judgement. But with Nelson....I don't trust him. Plus....he just gives me the creeps." A shiver went up her spine which in case made her whole body twitch from it. It was then brought up that Tamara shouldn't be told about the scars on her back and she nodded her head in agreement.
Sarah then stood up from here with they're hands together. Masumi stood up and walked with her to the door and opening it for her. "Yes, I know love. But we do have to tell Tamara and her wife Julie about what is going on and what not. Even if your sister is still stewing, maybe this will clear her head and help with idea's as to how we should continue on with these two paths before us." Letting go of Sarah's hand, she would wrap her arm around Sarah's waist and hold her close with a smile.

"No kidding," Sarah said as she rested her head on Masumi's shoulder, a feeling of calm serenity coming over her as they headed for the door, their hands in the other's. As Masumi held open the door for her, she added, "Yes, I know love. But we do have to tell Tamara and her wife Julie about what is going on and what not.
