Another week has gone by and things have went very well. Baron continued to help Barry with his chores to show his gratitude for everything Granny and him have done for them. Zeph helped around the house and was on a speedy track to recovery. He thought she may be good for travel. Not that traveling had been on his mind a lot, but he knew she wouldn't stay put for too long. He wouldn't mind staying, hell he really wanted to stay, but he knew deep down that after everything he's done for Zephyr, there was no way he'd let her walk away without him. Even if it meant leaving Granny Flaire and Barry.
Realizing how soon it would be, those thoughts of leaving this place, they filled his head and it gave him a chance to accept it. He was preparing to leave on a good note, and pursuing his promise with Zeph. That promise being that he'd take her to her farm and get that picture of her son. He knew what it meant to her. He wasn't about to forget about that, or let her forget about it. A promise is a promise...He thought to himself as he and Barry finished covering a hole in the field.
"Hey Baron, i'm gonna go wash up for lunch." Barry said, leaving Baron to himself as he patted the dirt nicely and left his shovel laying against the fence. It was time to address something. To everyone.
He headed into the house and glanced in the living room, where Flaire kept her stack of magazines. He pulled a folded map out from in between a phone book and People's magazine. He then walked into Flaire's bedroom where she was sitting in her rocking chair, knitting a sock cap. Whislting to herself until she heard his footsteps at the doorway.
"Hey sweetie, can I help you?" She said with a sweet and innocent look.
Baron held the map tight, looking around, trying to think about what he's about to say. "Granny, Zeph and I.....we really....really appreciate everything you've done for us. Barry too. Ya'll saved us. But, we may have to go soon, depending on how Zephyr's feeling."
"Oh....uh.." Flaire sat the thread down on her lap, with a worried look on her face before looking back at Baron with a smile. "You do what you have to do.....just promise to be safe hun.." She said, blinking a few times to try to cancel out any tears that may of tried to come out.
"I'm going to see how she's doing, and maybe talk to her about it. But I just wanted you to know so it wouldn't be so sudden...I had promised her something, and I don't want to break that promise." He said once again, fighting hard against the decision he was making. These people, they gave him something he needed. Love. They cared for him and he was just going to leave them. However, the cause of him leaving them was much greater in his mind. He was leaving them for Zephyr. She needed him. Whether she would admit it or not. She needed Baron. Just like Baron needed her. If it wasn't for her, he'd be dead. If it wasn't for him, she'd be dead. They've fought for each other so much it'd be hard to just let all that fighting go to waste.
