He didn’t expect the words that fell like stones from Sophia’s lips. He watched her in silence as she spoke…it was almost as if she had expected it. But hell…why wouldn’t she? He was an asshole…he had never said otherwise. He pushed one of his hands through his hair and looked over at Ava. The nervous tension in his body making him a live wire. Like he could snap at any moment. And then he felt the ultrasound picture being pressed into his palm. He looked down a moment at the image of his son. His harsh blue eyes softening ever so slightly.
“Yeah….” He said slowly. His voice monotone as he looked over at Ava. He wanted to tell Sophia to take care of her. To watch over the son he didn’t deserve. But he couldn’t. Sophia would take care of them…he knew that. She was a better person than he could ever hope to be. “….I’ll go.” He said at last. With that he took the photo she gave him and folded it before sticking it into the pocket of his jeans. It was surprising how much it hurt. The thought of leaving her cut like a knife….but the thought of staying made him suffocate.
He took one last look at Ava and let his eyes slowly drift to her swollen stomach. He wanted to say a million things…he wanted to say he was sorry. But he couldn’t. Instead he gave Sophia a small nod and stepped outside to take his last smoke on the island and wait for the tides of walkers to diminish so he could disappear like the ghost he was.

Henry was surprised to see Claira arrive here so quickly. Last he checked, she was driving that truck with the unfortunate family that led the horde here. When she contributed her jest about being short, he snickered suavely and shook his head; thinking to himself that the woman moved on the battlefield like a squaddie instead of a Mayor. He liked that she was fearless and could get shit done. How she leaped in the water yesterday like a GI, taking that Asian woman under and calling to execute that group of slavers won a great deal of respect from him—albeit, he still thought she was a bit too risky.
“Well met, Sergeant.” He said to Chacón, after she briefly introduced herself.
He thought it odd though that she still considered herself a woman of rank. The military did not give a fuck about them or America anymore. He looked in the woman’s eyes before she departed and could sense that she was still trying to hold onto something that no longer had meaning. Henry gave up the marine act a long time ago. But there was no time for proper introductions, not with the shit storm they now faced. Claira had ordered everyone to get to the East Bridge. The lingering walkers that remained west; Henry helped take down with swift clean head shots from his M4A1 carbine beauty. Another soldier arrived, who drained his G3 rifle on em’…there was nothing left now between the both of them.
Henry assumed this was Derick. He gave the man a nod, before Derick jetted off after Chacón.
Moments later, Claira and her guards would have been headed to the East Bridge on foot, thus she would hear a Harley Davidson roaring loudly beside her. He pulled to the side of the Mayor and gave her a nod and grin. Henry would mimic his voice to match that of a Duke noble—just for pretend: “The Queen of Jamestown is out here on foot, unacceptable...such is a terrible position for a Monarch like yourself. Would you like a ride you’re Grace? My steed is well fed, thanks to your fine petro.” He smirked and hit the throttle again…

Claira As she was running at full sprint with the guards hot on her heels, she heard the sound of a particular Harley rolling up next to her. Watching him as she stopped her pace, the guards just kept running past them to get to it. By the time she had stopped, she was already half way across the Island. Raising an eyebrow at how he has talking to her. Laughing to herself, she would hold the AK-74 Assault rifle with the butt of the stock resting on her Thigh. Slinging the rifle over the other shoulder so both rifles on her back formed an 'X' on her back. Smiling at him, she would say to him. "Well, it seems to me that you can't get enough of me Sir Doberman and you just want to show your highness what your Stead can do...as you wish kind sir, I will ride with you." She climbed onto the back of the Harley Davidson and wrapped her arms around his abdomen as he tore off to the Eastern Gate.
Mean while, at the Eastern Gate
Simon had climbed up most of the way up the tower and jumped off it and landed on the massive column that Locks the gate into place. Kneeling down, he took his rifle and was trying to relieve as much strain on the gate as possible by killing the dead that were banging on it, trying to force themselves inside. Cling, click, CLICK. Looking down, his rifle was out of ammo, yelling alot of curse words, he slung the rifle behind him and took out his pistol. The more he had killed, the more that other had taken it's place. His eyes saw that the steel plated gate was starting bend slightly from the weight being put onto it. Popping open the cylinder, he quickly reloaded his Colt .45 double action revolver. Slamming the Cylinder back in, he began to open fire again as more and more people started to show up to help take care of this Massive horde that threaten the island. To kill everyone on it. To add the numbers in which the army of death had lost on the bridge. When more people had began to open fire on the dead, he quickly holstered the pistol and reached into his pocket to pull out the remaining 30-30 Ammo that he stored inside of it so he didn't have to go back to the truck.
Quickly reloading the rifle, the tube was full and he fed a round into the chamber. Aiming, he began to fire again. Making sure that every round he had popped off was a double hitter. A two for the price of one bullet. Dropping two at a time, the numbers were starting to dwindle down a bit, but they needed more guns. Popping out the spent cartridge, he looked into the receiver and saw he had one more shot left inside. Closing the slide by bringing up the Lever action, he aimed and fired. This time, he took out four that were lined up perfectly for the shot. As he slung his rifle and was bringing out the pistol to reload it, he heard the sounds of two heavy diesel engines roaring up to either of the gate. Looking, he saw two military humvee's with .50's on them Smiling, he quickly reloaded the handgun and began to fire. The humvee's began to open fire as they had a torrent of four heavy Machine gun's blasting away at the Zombie horde. When Harley man with the woman who had saved his and the female soldier's life by driving the truck through the gate, he saw her dismount the Harley and ran for the tower next to him but opposite tower of Derick and Camila. When she was up top, she began to open fire as well. It was a wave of the undead versus the wave of bullets that streamed through and down upon them.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion for Doberman. Even though the horde came recklessly, uninhabited, debauched and without mercy, the panther had to be poised and prepared mentally even if the odds were against them. He was trained in the marines to assess every situation in slow motion, or else the intensity of the moment could easily overcome you. Claira would see this as he rode forth on his Harley without distress. He was calmer than the civilians that were yelling over the radio to get to the East gate. When they arrived, he noticed two diesel Humvee’s with .50 cal gunners on them. That was high quality type shit, he thought. Surely the horde would be overpowered with that type of military equipment. Claira was already off on foot and in the opposite tower of Sgt. Chacón and the man that he assumed was Derrick—the two were holding their own post proficiently. Henry parked his bike and jogged up to the tower where Claira took command. He took hold of his M4A1 and prepared to assault walkers with his rifle. Because he had a compressor and scope, he would take only precise head shots, some tearing the heads off completely.
With Sgt. Chacón and Derrick on the left tower….the Humvee’s on both sides…and Henry beside the Mayor taking out what was approaching the right; he knew this horde did not have a chance now and the biters number would be about depleted at any moment. “That was pretty intense. I’ll get with Sgt. Levengood and Pvt. West to see about forming a team to make repairs on the gates. Are you good?” He said to Claira.

At the East gate, this was looking almost impossible at first. The horde they face seemed to reach the end of the bridge. Camila was half tempted to grab Lily from Daycare and just jump ship while they had a chance to escape with everyone distracted. Her main Priority was the child before anything else but the idea of possibly Leaving Derick behind wasn't really that great. She had spent her life since the apocalypse running from everything. The Dead, People, Any sort of connection to anything and it had kept her alive thus far. When She met Castle it had been the first time that she dropped her guard.
She owed him for sparing her the pain of torture and granting her the privilege to keep her life. That choice kicked her in the ass when she lost him and it reminded her that is was easier to just cut and run. Her eyes down the sights she killed so many Walkers that count was lost. She hadn't noticed, Derricks Arrival initially and eventually she noticed him in her guard tower on the platform. A small nod was directed towards him as she popped another clip into her weapon.
Eventually, after all of the firing, the Numbers of the dead were wiped out and they were alive for another day. Wiping the sweat from her brow she turned and leaned against the wall of the guard tower. Sliding down the tower wall she pulled the radio from the hemline of her jeans. "Hey, Funsize. Time to hit the showers. I like my Jack straight and Tequila with Limes. Keep that in mind Boss Lady." Camila spoke before setting the radio down and looking at Derick. "Well that was fun."

The bullets lit up the air. Spent gunpowder filled the air with it's aroma. Blasting from each gun echoed as more and more firearms piled up to unleash they're fury on the dead at the gates. Derick was sweating like a pig left to roast over a fire. An hour had went by and the last shots were heard. Bodies covered the full length of the bridge as he looked over it all. Sighing to himself, he leaned against the opposite wall of Camila. Leaning the rifle in the corner of two walls, he let out a long brief of air that he had held for a bit. Nodding his head, Derick took off his Sunglasses and tossed them onto the table as he rubbed his temples. "Indeed it was. But from what I see of the gate...we are going to have our work cut out for us my dear. That gate down below has a bend in it. But...it's something we Gear heads can't fix...Right Camila?" Derick asked as his Chocolate brown eyes fell on her with a smile on his face. Pushing himself off the wall, he picked up the G3 assault rifle and swapped clips. He was running low again, so he had to get back to his house some time soon to get his clips filled up again. He had this clip in the rifle and the two clips for his Glock.
His gaze went back to the river of dead bodies on the bridge and saw that the clean up job was going to get messy and going to a take a good bit of time. Shaking his head, he took out his rag from his back pocket and wiped the sweat off his forehead and the top of his head. Stuffing it into the back pocket, he whistled a long tune as he was calculating all the different factors in place. Probably about two days to clean both Bridges, inspect both gates and fix any issues with them. "We have our hands full for the next couple of days my dear. Depending on what is going to be needed, we might be split up into two different teams to fix both bridges at the same time....let's see what the Mayor has to say about it. A shower sounds nice about now. Dinner in my Basement or in your Kitchen?"
