Owen drove the truck down the dirt roads. It was still a little mucky from the rain, but they wouldn't get stuck. The junk yard wasn't far, outside the town. The trailer park was in town too, on the outskirts. He had driven the roads plenty of times.
The he town only had about ten streets, not much locals lived in the town, most had apartments above shops, the trialler park, or lived on properties like Amarie, and St. Mordeaux. It was a quite town in its time, could get around it in minutes if you put your mind to it.
They made a quick stop at the junk yard. Owen parked the truck and Amarie got out, grabbing the keys to the truck there. When she got it in and pulled it up along side Owen nodded. She knew the way to the trailer park, and could follow behind.
The trailer park wasn't much further. Owen pulled up and stopped the truck. Climbing out he waited for Daisy and Damon before going over to Amarie. "We need to pick lit which three we want to take. What ones we will bring back. Probably cleaner the better, easy to move. If a deck is built around it we most likely won't be able to bring it along."
He looked at Damon. "Why don't Damon and I go see about another truck. There should be one in the back. Amarie, you and Daisy can start looking at the trailers. See what we want. We should keep a look out for items, food, water, everything we need."
Owen waited for a reasons, seemed everyone was on board. He grabbed a pack from the back and slung it over his shoulder. Walking over behind one of the trialler she waved Damon over. He slowed so they could walk casually, and even pace.
"I'm surprised you stuck around. Not sure if I said that," Owen said calmly, "weren't you travelling with Charles and the others? They moved on, and you're still here." He looked at the man. "Glad you did though. You're not trouble, and know what's what." He smiled, "you're welcome to stay as long as you want. You're worth the extra supplies."
He looked back as Amarie and Daisy went their own way. "I realized I don't know much about you Damon. Don't know how old you are, where you're from, and what you did before all this. Not that it matters, but if you're sticking around I'd like to know more about you."
Owen looked over at Damon. He had noticed Damon and Daisy this morning. The way they acted after heir run. How close his sister stood to him, clung to him. "So tell me about the run yesterday though? Everything went okay? You said you were locked in? Maybe the door was already locked and it closed on you."
