List 3 flaws:
- Jack of all trades, master of none: He's not actually "good" at anything. He has a range of knowledge and experience that is as extraordinarily shallow as it is broad. Generally, if someone is taking charge, he should be able to lend a hand. Just don't expect him to lead any projects.
- Easily influenced: Brandon always was a people pleaser growing up. He'll take a stand on serious issues, but is otherwise fairly easily swayed.
- Unorganized: His apartment was always a mess. The whole world going to shit didn't help his lack of organizational ability. Naturally, he loses shit all the time. Usually it turns back up...
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Brandon was in the process of beginning the next chapter of his life after graduation. He was making regular trips out to L.A. to finalize on an apartment and flying all over the country to work with different film crews. When he wasn't playing the part of a working class jet setter, he was living with his parents and sister back in Washington. He kept himself busy in his downtime, going out with his friends and engaging in all manner of childish shenanigans. Drinking and Dungeons & Dragons were the two recreational constants in his life, as well as the odd jazz cigarette. For the most part though, he was just living his life day to day, not worrying too much about the future and just enjoying the present moment in all of its fleeting glory.
It was at the bar that he met Anna. The two hit it off almost immediately, leading to a fling that lasted six months before they decided to call it quits. They parted on good terms, and would still talk when they saw each other out.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-Brandon had just got back home after spending several months on location in the Midwest, working on the set of an upcoming He was on his way to Wheeling, WV for a weekend of beer and tabletop RPGs with some friends when some homeless looking guy walked in front of him on I-70 around Dallas Pike. Brandon swerved into the median to avoid him, but to no avail. After getting out of his car, he noticed the man still moving under the car. Looking down the highway, he saw a similar scene on a larger scale. Screams were coming from the shopping plaza on top of the hill. Upon investigation, he found a nightmare landscape with looting and vicious cannibalism. He ran into the Cabela's, looted some supplies, and started for his friends' house.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
After being unable to reach his parents since the outbreak, Brandon decided his best chance came from sticking with his friends in Wheeling. Days turned into weeks turned into months. Over the course of the next three years, other survivors came and went, and his core group of friends slowly succumbed to the hazards of the new world. Raiders, corpses, and more mundane dangers like sickness and starvation whittled down their numbers until Brandon was left alone with a small band of strangers that had turned the casino into a stronghold of sorts. He stayed on with them for a few months, but the memories of his friends haunted that place. It wasn't long before he decided to leave behind those phantoms and find a new life away from the dark memories. It took the better part of three days to walk the two miles from the casino to the local Riesbeck's. He spent another two days clearing the place of what few supplies could be scraped up. With his acquired prize of a box of macaroni and a bottle of Pepto from the pharmacy, he renewed his westward journey. At least, he would have if there hadn't been a swarm of walkers blocking the way. Situation as it was, he decided to back track and take his chances with the highway. Hell, if he got lucky, maybe he'd run across a vehicle.
He ended up falling in with the old Hive crowd, but after befriending and near immediately losing several people, he withdrew. He stuck with Tegan and the others, but mostly roamed on his own. He appointed himself as the regional marshal and rode between Mt. Angel and San Francisco to carry information, keep trade routes clear, establish relations, and help whomever he comes across. Recently feeling like he was too far out, he decided to make his way back to Wheeling. Come Hell or high water, he was heading home.
