The evening before Jace spoke with William and Castle about training for the people. They needed to run into town for supplies for that as well as medical supplies and other needed items. They would need food and sheet metal for fencing. Some much on a list of things they needed going through his mind as he made his way below deck for the night. He hadn’t bothered to use his quarters since they stayed at the boat. The first night was with Nicole and tonight he would be sleeping across from her in a bunk.
He found himself in the female bay and kneeled beside the bunk she was on. “Hope your sleeping well.” He said with a smile before kissing her forehead and finding himself in the bunk to the right of her. Everyone else was asleep and he just stared up at the ceiling. He truly wondered whether even with training if they would be able to stay safe here. It concerned him for the fact that this Army group had and outpost somewhere in town.
Hell he would be in the surround area and they could be sitting ducks at this point. Nicole said that the bayou wasn’t safe but it was out of the beaten path and they had more people there. He still battled with his mind wondering if he had made the right choice dragging all of these people here. He was responsible for all of these people’s safety and it was something that was a heavy weight on his shoulders. He had never really planned to be a leader of a group but it just seemed to fall that way.
Maybe because he had learned to control his temper over the years and keep a level head. Even in the outbreak but maybe that was the kind of thing that would get everyone killed in the long run. The only choice he felt good about was asking Castle to be in charge of training people. Even the women here with children needed to know how to shoot. He knew Skylar could shoot but maybe needed some fine tuning on her skills.
After a while of over thinking Jace found himself in a deep slumber into the next morning. His eyes opened again and he lay in bed trying to wake up before he got moving. Everyone seemed to still be sleeping but that was about to change once he go motivated.
