HUNK turned her masked head quietly as she saw a woman inquire as to how she got in there, then saw her freak out anxiously out of realization before dashing behind her to seal off her entrance, holding her blade in her left hand but was not aiming it at anyone before quietly speaking to her. "It doesn't matter who I am, just a survivor. I guess if you had to call me something, it would be 'H.U.N.K'. So, that your group down below? I saw that you let some of them out for something. If it weren't for me, this place would be zombie heaven by now. You're welcome.", she said haphazardly before turning her head back around to the ramp leading to floor 1, which she started to stroll down calmly as she resheathed her katana at her back-based sheathe, only to stop in her tracks as the red of her lenses seen as her "eyes" caught sight of more of the survivors from below were coming up to the 2nd floor now, and wondered what it was about that they seemed attracted to her, even if that wasn't the case?
The day was fairly silent with this group of strangers put together waiting for the walkers to dissipate. Everyone basically kept to themselves and Athena was no exception. She fed and watered the animals and checked the crop boxes for any ripe veggies. Made sure the Water was getting to the plants. On her way back down to the group she stopped on the third level to get dinner for the group. Grabbing Roosters out of the food pen she killed three of them and put them in her pull cart with the veggies she picked.
Moving down to the Second level with the group she moved over to her kitchen area. Throwing a few pieces of wood into the fire pit she went to work cleaning the birds to prepare for people. Pulling the feather and putting them in a bin she would use them for pillows and blankets. Waste not was how she felt about it and would use everything she could. She gutted the chicken and put all that stuff into a pot with the feet and necks. She would boil it and let the dog eat it. She was sure the pup would enjoy some cooked chicken.
After cleaning the chicken she pulled out the meat clever and cut and seasoned the meat. She moved over and set a frying pan over the flames on the grate. Pouring a little oil in the pan she placed in pieces of chicken. Taking a pot she placed it over the pan as well opening two jars of corn she had canned. Poring it into the pot on the cooler side of the fire and let it start to heat up. Her eyes shifted between the new comers then back to cooking.

Branden had cautiously approached with a crowbar in hand just as they were allowed entry into the garage, though the woman in charge explained that wouldn`t be necessary. They were welcome as guests so long they caused no harm, and would be allowed to stay until the threat outside ceased to exist. Shortly after their arrival, the two men that they had seen outside the shutters came back in, but this time with a female in tow. One person was apparently still missing, though that didn`t bother many of the ones that were now safe inside. Following Athena upstairs to the second level, they encountered another girl, the same one they had seen fighting in the streets.
Athena ran to the back to lock the door from wherever the samurai had come, whereas the others stood idle by and greeted the stranger. Once she came back, she told that it was best for them all to get along, even though they hardly knew each other. She was easy to trust, Branden thought, but was glad to have somewhere to stay the night. When she ran upstairs to get the eggs, he took a good look around alongside the others.
Hearing Camila call out for them to check something out, he turned his gaze and was stunned to see a pair of living horses. "Whoa...who would have thought." He said in awe, approaching them carefully as he reached out to touch their snout, only then to have one of them sneeze at him. "Eww, yuck." He uttered and shook it off.
A few hours later...
Sitting beside Camila by the fire, Branden kept an eye out for what was happening around them. He saw how good Athena was at making food out of what she had, and it smelled delicious once she had gotten far into it. However as he glanced around, his eyes fell on Jess who was over by the horses, and for a moment he fell into a trance staring at her. Thinking back on what had happened between the two, he felt the urge to apologize, though didn`t know how to say it. As he suddenly got nudged, Camila hinted for him to go on over and talk to her, almost literally pushing him off the seat. "Alright, alright...I will." He said and stood up, afraid of the consequences.
As he slowly got close, he cleared his throat and said. "Eh um, hey...look, I.." He started, but paused, stopping as he got to her side. "I`m sorry, about earlier...I, it's not like...it's not like, I didn`t like it, well...to be honest, I can`t remember much, but...that's not the case...what I came to tell you, is that I apologize, for this...awkwardness, it may have created and...for walking off like I did. I hope we can still be friends...its..em, it was nice, truly, but I don`t know...if I am ready for anything just yet, you know...after what happened, back at the house..." He rambled on, until he couldn`t go further, as it got too hard.

A few hours into the chaos and the sudden union of different people into one of the most unlikeliest places a survivor could call home, HUNK stood back against a wall nonchalantly, her coated arms crossed firmly across her chest along with her equally-covered legs; overall, her person gave little room for identification, the only thing identifiable about her was her skin and hair color, as a bit of her ears and her fingers were shown through under her helmet and through the cut parts of her gloves respectively, a couple loose strands of deep brown hair dangling lightly in front of said ears, and her arsenal at the side with her katana sheathed on her back, her silenced pistol holstered at her hip, and her MP5 slung securely at her side. She didn't say much, even when something intriguing came up, purely because she was trying to keep herself invisible to get as much information as possible; she wasn't an active threat, however, because she could go out of sight and pick these survivors off if she truly wanted to be a dick, but she wasn't. If anything, she didn't want to kill unless she had to, or was "pushed".
The day had gotten late and the sun was about to disappear in the horizon between the skyline when Kenneth sat down to join the others by the fire. He was still trying to get accustomed to the new situation he found himself in, though didn`t mind having people around. There was safety in numbers he believed, but whether they could be trusted yet or not remained to be seen. After being chased through the streets by growlers, he felt grateful to have stumbled upon someone willing to save his ass, though he couldn`t help but to feel exhausted and extremely hungry.
The food Athena was prepping for them all to eat smelled delicious, and he just couldn`t wait to get a snack, however he didn`t want to seem rude by telling her that he was inpatient. Instead he debated if he should go over to help her, as he knew some of the things she did. He had grown up on a farm back in North Carolina, only then later to move to a small fishing village where he worked as a mechanic. His background was diverse, he had always been eager to learn and he also knew how to hunt and track. By the look of things, it seemed the woman in charge could need a hand, and he would more than welcome assist if allowed.
Standing up from the seat, he walked on over to her and said. "Hey, need some help? I`d hate to just sit by and see you do everything on your own, hell I`m baffled nobody else has come up yet to lend you a hand." He smiled at her, hoping she wouldn`t mind his willingness to do some good. "Thank you by the way, for saving me back there, and for letting me stay. Such kindness and generosity is a rarity these days, which truthfully I`m glad still exist."
Hours had passed and it seemed the owner of this home was cooking dinner for the group. It smelt pretty good and it would be nice to have something hot to eat for once. The girl had been her for a long time obviously seeing as she had so much stuff stored. The sun was setting in the distance so it seemed they would be here over night. She didn’t mind really but she already missed her bed. Moving towards the horse pen she grabbed a bucket of brushed and entered the Gait stopping by one of the Belgian Draft horses.
The name on his Halter was Goliath which suited him she thought looking up at the massive animal. Pulling out a brush she ran it across the Horses golden coat. She hadn’t really been around horses since she was a little girl and took some riding lessons. Either way it was peaceful here just grooming the gentle giant made her smile. It was short lived though when a voice startled her and the horse shifted away. “Easy boy its fine.” She said calmly and didn’t even look at Branden just stepped towards the horses and away from him.
“First you say you don’t remember anything but then you say it was nice. You’re sorry about what walking out with so much as a word after what happened. Yeah that does make a girl feel like crap but its whatever.” She said she continued brushing the horse but for whatever reason she was feeling angry. “You know that’s you’re not the only one to loose someone you love. It was me and Chris. We had stopped at the service station to raid for supplies and gas. Well that’s where it happened this group of bikers came and the leader. He was an evil man and he was going to kill us.”
She said still brushing the horses coat and tears had already started to well up.” Well I tried to make a deal so they would spare Chris and figured I could escape. Well he ended up hurting Chris and as we left the place had walkers coming from everywhere. I spent the next few weeks being tortured and raped. Hence why I look like got into a fight with broken glass and hot metal. By the time I escaped and found my way back I found chris. He was a walker and I still see him like that all the time. Between him in walker and ghost form, plus me running from the devil.”
“Well forgive me if I don’t really want to hear your sorry.” She said and at this point soft sobs came out of her mouth and she leaned against the horse. Her forehead pressed against the animals side. " I loved him since before the outbreak. He was my first friend when i moved from my parents house. I worked at his Bar every night and We spent all that time not together. Be happy that you told her you loved her. Because I didnt say it to him."
Camila Had spent most of her time sitting by the fire and throwing a ball for Tango. The man Branden seemed unusually glued to her side even though he really didn’t say much. It was fine she wasn’t much of a talker to those she didn’t know well. It was getting into the evening hours and the way it looked was they would stay till next morning. She looked over to see Branden staring at the woman with the scared face. The one whom he seemed so awkward around and Camila roughly shoved him about making him fall out of his seat.
“Go dude and talk to the girl.” She said with a smirk on her face. “Be a man and grow a pair.” Was her motivational speech which seemed to work. When he finally caved and went to speak to her. It was at this point her mind flashed to Dom and the trouble he may be in if he was caught with that doctor. She was concerned for him and wished she would’ve stopped him somehow. Now it was too late and she just hoped that he would be okay where ever he was.
Her attention shifted when she smelled the food cooking. Which it smelled like the best food she was going to eat in a long time. Camila rose from her seat and moved over the ledge and looked over the wall. The walkers had slowly started to disappear and would probably be all wandered off by morning. Moving back to the fire Camila glanced at the woman suited up away from everyone. Kneeling down to the dogs level they both looked in the woman’s direction. “Keep a watch on her Tango. Got it?” she whispered to the dog.

HUNK was looking back out towards the shutters more towards the 1st floor, where she knew the entrance to the garage was, in wonder as if thinking that it was getting safer to travel out; the explosions she made earlier most likely drew a whole city's worth towards that one spot, and it was actually a few miles away, and the fact she was seeing fewer and fewer silhouettes and shadows along the gravel that passed by the openings in the shutters only pointed to the fact all of them in the immediate area have already passed them. Needless to say, it was possibly safe to leave the garage if they headed in the opposite direction of the flaming debris that was once an SUV. But her thoughts were cut short when she turned her head back towards one of the women that came in on a Humvee of all things, and she and the dog were looking at her like she was a suspect of a crime. Was it her gear? The fact she never talked about anything? Well, different strokes for different folks. Maybe she wasn't talkative. Regardless, she didn't like how she was being singled out by the woman when she could just as easily look in a mirror to find the same target...then again, that's just her. With a sigh, she went up the ramp, crossing the clearing of the garage in her wake, to go to one of the nearby windows of the garage and just rested forward on it with her folded arms on the stone to support herself. "Ah, peace and quiet.."
Athena sang to herself old country songs while she was cooking. She had started cooking the second bird’s pieces now when a voice startled her. She looked up to see Walker bait standing there offering to help. He thanked her for saving him bunch she just looked back at the cooking food. “You’re lucky I saved you, but I know my parents god rest their souls would’ve been ashamed had I not.” She said in a quiet tone pulling out some of the chicken that was done and adding a few more pieces.
“Yeah I you want to help goo look in the corner there and find the paper plates and plastic utensils over there. Start making plates for people there’s corn and chicken.” She said pointed to the corner then to the food she had cooked on the table. “Truth be told didn’t really think many people where left In the world. If any I’ve been here alone for years. I’d like to keep it that way to less people draws less attention.” She said looking at the man then back to the cooking meat in front of her.
Maybe her people skills were a bit rusty after so much time alone but she was the friendliest person right now. Her eyes scanned around seeing everyone spread out. A whole group of strangers together was going to make for very little sleep tonight. Which she wasn’t a fan of because man she loved her sleep but she couldn’t trust any of these people. So far no one was trying to kill the rest but then again they would all be stuck here till morning anyway.

When Branden came over to apologize, he hadn`t expected the reaction he got. She didn`t even want to look at him as she answered stating the obvious, explaining in third person that him leaving her that morning had made her feel like crap. Hearing her say that made him feel terrible sorry, something he desperately wanted to correct. However he wasn`t good with words, never was, and now that everything was just shit, he didn`t know what to do with himself. The loss of his girlfriend had hit him hard, on levels he hadn`t thought possible, yet it had. He missed her dearly, although what he experienced was nothing compared to what she mentioned next.
As he listened to what else she had to say, she began to open up more and revealed everything that had happened to her before she joined them. Stating that the reason why she had the scars on her body, were because she had been taken captive, raped and tortured numerous times, only then to escape and find the man she loved already dead and turned. It was a heartbreaking story, even more so when she said he had less to grieve, when she didn`t even get the chance to say she loved him, something Branden had done multiple times too Stormyr when she was alive.
It put things in perspective and it made him think that maybe she was right, perhaps it wasn`t the worst that could happen, even though his girlfriend had taken the short way out. The letter she wrote described everything and she had done it to be rid of her troubles, which he couldn`t blame her for, even though it didn`t make the matters better.
Saddened by his and her past, Branden felt the need to hug Jess when he noticed her sobbing, though didn`t know if he should considering what he heard. After a moment of silence he decided to go for it, believing it was worth the risk. He reached out his hand and placed it on her right shoulder, hinting that he was there for her if she needed him and that if she turned around to face him, he would embrace her.
By the time Kenneth reached Athena, she was found singing old country songs as she cooked and prepped the meat, and he couldn`t help but to be in awe of that. Her voice was just as beautiful as she was, and he found her to be an intriguing character, one whom he owed his life too. He was more than willing to help out, especially so when it could speed up the cooking process. With a humble expression and a kind smile he listened to what she said, and he had to agree that he would be dead without her, though found it interesting she thought her parents would have disliked it had she not.
Just as she told him what he could do to assist, he wasted no time to go and grab the paper plates and plastic utensils, along with the corn and chicken she had cooked. “Well, the world might be dead, but there are still people out there. Be glad though that you haven`t encountered the wrong kind of people yet, or so I hope.” He answered motioning over to the group, not certain whether it was a good idea to let them all in. “Not to critize you or anything, I`m glad you let us in, truly, I am, but I hope you know what you`re doing. It’s a big risk these days trusting a bunch of strangers. “
He went over to the people and started handing them food that was already done, and then returned to grab some more. “Look I`ve been wandering here and there for three years, and the people I`ve encountered, they haven`t all been friendly or generous like you. They would rather shoot and ask questions later, if ask at all. Mostly they`ll just take what they need to be able to survive.” He stopped by Athena and spoke for only her to hear. “Got to say though, what you got going here, how you`ve made this place a safe place, its impressive.” Kenneth complimented.

sarah and crayton sat at the fire talking to each other about the boy and what had happened for about two hours before they went quiet and sarah fell asleep watching the fire. crayton wasnt tired though he was just happy that she was here yes the boy is a loss but this is why he didnt get to close to him cause he knew sooner or later the boy will eventually be eaten killed or lost.
crayton stayed up all night to the next morning he usually only slept a couple hours a day anyways. he got up and walked to the edge of the parking deck's wall and looked down on the few walkers in the alley then he let a goober out of his mouth and it hit the top of its head.
As she stood there leaning against the large horse her sobs were soft. The animal stood there quietly and was munching on some hay that had been dropped for it earlier. She didn’t have anything else to really say at this point and she really just wanted to jump out of the garage and let the walkers have her. After a few moments of just silence she felt something touch she shoulder which made jump slightly and flinch feeling the hand on her. She still wasn’t used to feeling a soft touch on her skin after everything she had been through.
She wasn’t sure she would ever be able to not flinch and want to move away. Her mind kept telling her to run from the touch that it would only cause pain. Jess looked over her shoulder and her gaze moved from the hand up the arm and eventually fell on Branden. Jess dropped the brush back into the bucket and went against her brain telling her what to do. Her arms wrapped around Branden and she let all the crying out. “You know the worst part? I pregnant with that evil man’s spawn. It’s like a daily reminder of what happened to me.” She said in a low voice.
Her eyes still had tears falling from them and she rested her head against his chest. Feeling his arms wrap around her made her feel panicked but she didn’t move. Seems the only time she wasn’t haunted by the past was around this man even though their conversations lacked. This man had just lost the love of his life a few days ago and she knew the pain that it would cause. Jess moved her head to look up at the man and she sniffled. “I’m sorry for being so harsh.” She said her tone was quiet and tired.
Athena kept making food for everyone as the man when to grab plates and start dishing stuff for everyone. “No I haven’t encountered anyone really. I’ve seen groups pass but so far none of them ended up walker bait like you. So I never made my presence known.” She said still looking at the food in the pan she was frying in. He mentioned something to her about being sure if it was wise to let all these people in. Since she didn’t know them and they could be a danger.
“Walker Bait you could be a threat for all I know. I wasnt going to let you die or them for that matter. It’s been a year I reckon since I’ve seen other people.” She said and her eyes watched as she started carrying food to people. “Out of all of the places, in this little town, yeah you had to come walkin in here and sit down, im hiding and hoping my face aint to red…” She sang in a low voice until she realized the man had returned.
“Well I was in school for agriculture, My parents were farmers and I was taking after them. I saved the horses from the barn when they got left behind and the animals above us I saved what I could. Ive been here basically since right after it started. I’ve built everything myself and best believe I would defend my home.” She said looking up at him for a moment the took the pan off the stove since she was finished cooking for the night.

When Branden placed his hand on Jess`s right shoulder, she flinched for a second, though that was not his intent. As her gaze went from his hand and up to his face, their eyes caught onto each other and stayed for a mere moment, only then after did she drop the brush back into the bucket and turn to face him crying. Surprised by her sudden move, he lifted his arms as she wrapped hers around his waist and as she began to tell him about her pregnancy and who`s child it was, his expression changed from shocked to sad. Slowly he lowered his arms and embraced her, looking down as he did. "I am so sorry." He said with an equal low voice, giving her a warm hug to try and make it better.
Giving her the time she needed, he could hear her sniffle while she cried, but when she turned to look up at him, he smiled humbly down at her, appreciating the apology she gave. "It's okay, really, I understand." Branden replied and let her know he didn`t hold a grudge for the way she acted, knowing he probably would have done the same. After all the shit they had experienced, they deserved a break, some happiness, something. Therefore it hadn`t been all bad what they had done that night, sleeping together, forgetting stuff by drinking their sorrows away. Yes, he had done the wrong thing by walking off without a word, though he had his reasons.
"Don`t you worry, you`ll get through this, we both will." He tried to reassure her, thinking about the need to survive, as he didn`t want to see another one go the same way his girlfriend had. "Look, I know I`m not the best talker, nor perhaps the best person in general, but I`m here for you. If I can, I will help you with whatever you need, pregnancy included." He smiled at her slightly, touching her chin with his finger, hoping she would allow him to assist. Looking her in the eyes, he could see her soul and what he saw wasn`t bad. "What happened between us, it's good. I was maybe ashamed of it at first, but not anymore. Actually, I`m glad it happened. "
When Athena spoke about how she had lived and how little interaction she had with people over the years, Kenneth`s suspicions was confirmed. She had acted due to the kindness of her heart, but nothing did she know of the strangers she saved. It concerned him, but for now he`d let it slide as they had to remain united if they were to survive the night together. She kept calling him Walker Bait, which he found amusing, as well a bit disturbing since he had almost ended up being eaten by those things. He knew it probably had to do with her not knowing his name yet, which he had yet to mention at some point, having forgotten it earlier.
Walking back and forth with plates and food to people, he listened intently to everything she said and got curious when she mentioned she had been in school to study agriculture, whereas her family was farmers. He stopped and faced her for a while, impressed by how she had managed to set the place up and keep it going. "Oh I`m certain you`d defend the place, I would too if it continued to keep me alive. You`ve done very well for yourselves." He said with a smile looking at her, seeing that she took the pan off the stove.
"I`m Kenneth by the way, so you can stop calling me Walker Bait now." Kenneth chuckled as he reached out his hand, tilting his head barely. "Got to say though, you have a beautiful voice. You`ve always loved to sing?" He continued, wanting to share a pleasant conversation with her. "Oh, one moment." He said, realizing he still held onto his plate and the one to the samurai girl in the back. Quickly he ran over to her without dropping anything, handing her the meal. "Here you go, hope it tastes." After that he ran back to Athena. "Shall we sit down maybe?" He asked kindly, looking down at his food that he held.

As crayton noticed sarah fell asleep he looks around the 2nd floor of the parking deck then gets up and walks over to kenneth and grabs a plate "hey thanks man i'd probably be one of them if it wasnt for you" he then grabs a second plate "ill take it to that other girl" he says before turning to see athena "thanks to you to you guys saved our lives... tell me if theres anything you need" he says before continuing down the slope to the first floor where aspen was sitting on the concrete wall by herself
"you hungry?" he asks as he approaches her "that lady with the horse made the food" he then puts the plate beside her and sits on the concrete wall beside her "you saved us back there" he sais before he starts eating

HUNK turned her head as she picked up the sound of footsteps approaching her from behind, her breath soft in the respirator of the gas mask she was wearing before shrugging, then looking at the plate the man brought with him. It was apparently food, and she couldn't deny the stomach growl that only resounded a couple seconds later, and took the fork on the plate to cut into the meat so a piece was loose, then stabbed it and lifted it up by her face as she lifted her mask just enough to bare her mouth, showing more of her skin to boot before slipping the tip of the fork and the meat on it into her mouth to eat, only to speak after she was done chewing and swallowing, "I may be masked, but I'm not a heartless bitch. You're welcome for saving you and the others, for all I did anyway. I'm honestly surprised you're here talking to me, I assumed you'd be back in there with the others. "
Jess didn’t move and she felt his arms wrap around her which made her nervous. Her eyes stayed on his a deep sigh of relief escaped her lips when he spoke about being there for her and him willing to help. Feeling his finger touching her chin she turned the right scarred side of her face away from him. The feeling of his skin touching her was warm and nice. When he mention what had happened between them another sigh escaped. “To be honest I really don’t remember what happened that night after a certain point.”
She turned her head and looked back up at him with a small smile. Leaning up she kissed him on the cheek before stepping back out of his embrace. Grabbing the bucket of brushes she turned to him. “You want to eat dinner with me?” Her tone was soft and she hoped he would accept that offer. Moving out of the pen she sat the bucket down and moved over to the table grabbing a plate of food and found a wall to sit down and lean against. She felt a little better now venting her past the more and more she talked about it the less and less she felt haunted.
Being around Branden so much recently her mind had been peaceful other than the awkwardness. Though she truly didn’t remember the one night stand except the heavily drinking and heavy hangover she had the next day. Which that wouldn’t be happening anymore the more people found out about her condition there would be no drinking. Which she was okay with it anyway because she still felt sick but that was probably the baby talking. Looking down at the plate of food she took the fork and pulled chicken off the bone. Putting a piece in her mouth she chewed it happily. She couldn’t remember the last time she had actually chicken.
Looking up at the man when he spoke his name she smiled. “Kenneth…hmm… nah I think I’ll stick with walker bait. It has a ring to it.” A laugh escaped her before she went to making a plate of food. She heard him comment about her voice which made her smile as well. Before she could respond he had run off to hand that girl Hunk some food. When he returned she looked at him and picked up her plate. “I used to sing in the choir at church and in the shower and at karaoke night at the local bar here in town with my college friends. I don’t think my voice is the best but thank you.”
“Yeah you can join me for dinner if you want.” She said before walking past other to the tent on the other side of the level that served as her room. Before entering she addressed the group. “Over there in that corner there are several air mattresses and a couple of foot pumps. Feel free to use them and you will find blankets and pillows as well.” She said pointing to the stuff and then entering her tent for the night. Once Kenneth was in she zipped up the door and sat on the queen sized air mattress. She pointed at a bean bag chair in the corner and smiled.
“Have a seat and tell me about your life before this walker bait. Or you can sit on the edge of the bed either one. “ She said in a calm friendly voice as she started eating her food. Her eyes stayed on the man whom had this rugged manly look. She found him actually handsome and nice to look at. Though she also hadn’t seen a lot of people since the world crashed and died. Either way she didn’t mind having him in her ‘room’ for a while or the night.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
