A world wind of emotions swept over what some may call a medical bay. Having just gone under the knife Deborah was a still a little groggy from the acts performed on her. One thing remained constant however, where was her baby and was she or him okay? Scratching her eyes as they flickered open. Everything appeared so fuzzy as the women's eyes tried to adjust to the lighting of the room. Turning head looking for a nurse to help nearly forgetting this was the end of the world. Hand covering over soft dainty lips at the sight of what she seen. A newborn infant wrapped in a soft blue blanket, a blue cap softly on his head as his little chest wasn't moving nor were their any noises escaping her child. "H-help someone please! M-my baby he isn't breathing!" Loud and screaming almost for assistance. Reaching for the child appearing as if he were resting in the cradle if not for the lack of breathing. A pain in her abdomen stopped that fruitless attempt to touch her baby however as she winced in pain feeling tears brought on by fear and pain now rolled over her pale cheeks dripping off her chin.
The commotion in the room must of caught the Doctors attention because a women in unprofessional attire came in through the door haste fully to the others side. Bailee? Or at least that is what she came up wi in her head. Although Deborah had been staying at the safe zone established by the military in the local high school, she had yet to really introduce herself with all the occupants and fellow survivors. Mouth opened and ready to ask in a tearful tone about her child but the women answered before she could. "Your child.. Their were complications Deborah" The blonde women at the edge of the bed almost went onto say. The same words that she had heard before when the world hadn't gone tits up. The only difference was the version and who was giving the news. Images of the past attempts at a child with her husband echoed through her mind painfully. "Can.. Can I p-please hold him. Can I a-at least do that?" Sweat mingled with tears rolling down her face clenching her fist into tight balls pulling the sheets slightly. Breathing becoming irregular as she watched Bailee pick up the still born child into her arms cradling him. A look of despair trying to be hidden could be easily read on the blonde but Deborah didn't remark. Holding in her arms the the child once passed to her with the gentleness of an angel.
Cradling her child in gentle arms slowly rocking him back and forth humming in cracked tone, trying in a tireless attempt to wake up the infant "C-come on Isaac.. W-wake up and let me see those pretty blue eyes?" Giving a saddened smile hoping her words would magically work but they didn't. The infant remained cold and lifeless as it was rocked gently, tears dripping on its little arms as Deborah's pale finger tips brushed her child's little bit of hair on its head. Pulling Isaac closer to her chest taking one last glance at Bailee as she left the room to give the grieving women so alone time. The red faced women wanted comfort. It was surprising how alone would feel in the undead world and she wished her husband was with her now. Despite knowing the truth she needed someone to feel the same with her, someone to touch and wipe away her tears over their child.
An hour passed by in what felt like minutes. Dark eyes remained on the infant seeing small moments in the mouth now. Taken back by this once she saw the milky color of her sons eyes she knew he was gone or at least that is what they called it when the doctor and a guard came into the room. In a quick moment she felt a broad shoulders man's hands hold her shoulders as Bailee took Isaac into her arms with hesitation. "Deborah your child.. Is gone, we can't risk you getting infected" Words went through one ear and out the other as the still not fully recovered women resisted. Reaching for her baby trying to get the guard off of her as her eyes welted up with tears. Nails scratching over the man's face and eyes as he held her back. "No I want my baby, Let me hold him longer! Let me hold him! He isn't dead" Giving up the fight as the guard suddenly hit her hard a crossed the face dissuading any fight she had left. If it had t been for the recent surgery she would of kicked his ass but she curled up nearly into a ball on her side. Tears filling her eyes as she whimpered. "I w-want my baby, I-Isaac." Deborah cried herself into a despair that would haunt her longer then the earth had been alive.
