Eric agreed with her plan to bring the biters closer to Argile's group, only to have his people save them. It was smart and tactical and a way to get into the group and dispatch them. "We can pluck them apart. Find people who are worthy to come here and be useful to us. Bring the fighters into your ranks. Everyone else is disposable. They either leave on their own or face death. There is no other way."
She knew that though. She had been on his side for quite some time and she knew how the operation worked. She ruled the roost of security in the streets and she knew how to clean things up when situations got messy. She was respected by her men and that's what he appreciated.
"Good to hear about the fishing. I hear there's some crab boats that have a little community on the riverfront in Baltimore. That's not too far. We can probably hit them up. We'll need to take to the coast soon. I just need to build our numbers up a bit to make that happen."
He got up from his seat, having finished his breakfast, leaving her to her own meal. She could take her time.
"Media? There's none of that left. We have a few runners that deliver messages by hand, but I have an idea on how to step that up. We're working on a transmission system where we can grab the a.m. airwaves in cars and radios. It's just a matter of people actually listening at this point."
She pushed the plate away as she finished eating, she held the cup of coffee in her hand and spoke,
” Short term I will cut my Widows in two, team one I want to keep stationed on these grounds for protection. Then with team two, I shall have the recruits join them and let my men do what we always do.” Finally she took her drink of her coffee in her hand but didn't drink,” Weed out the weak and show the strong that they are need so we don't repeat past mistakes.”
Her view on message runners was that it was leaving them open to been intercepted, a strong communication network was important and what they needed. But she knew her place and that was to advice and not to question.
As she sat there one thing ran through her head and one she knew was all too important, ” It shouldn't be to hard in getting people to see are view, in the short term,” she paused hoping them words would make a point,” but without a someone or a people to blame for our future people to rise against all this work will be useless. The infected are a good people to blame but not good enough to rise an arm against. We need a worthy enemy.“ With the last sip of her coffee she moved towards the door and stood beside it.

Eric appreciated her point of view of weeding out the weak ones to let the strength and he would certainly go along with the plan she was devising to make that happen. He wanted to make sure she got to Argile first though while he tried to figure out the best routes to get where he needed to go to find others, to find groups and figure out a way to gain their trust.
He pushed the chair back under the table as decorum was still very much a part of what he wanted them to be again. The rogue groups that went from place to place, raiding, raping and murdering were not the types that deserved to live...later. For now, they were very useful in bringing fear to those who wanted to survive and build their own communities.
However, he was intrigued by her suggestion about having an enemy. He started to walk to the door with her, letting her finish her breakfast first. He had maps he needed to get to and new recruits that he needed to talk to.
"So, what are you suggesting Sonya? What kind of worthy enemy did you have in mind?"
Immediately he thought of the raiders and bandits. He could wrangle them either with intimidation or goods, maybe even women to do what he wanted to do and then let Sonya kill them all in the end anyways. He had an end game and he knew suffering was going to come from it. But his way was the right way...it was the only way.

Sonya remained still at the door and kept her eyes on Eric. As if spreading joyful news of a mother's birth she spoke, ” When you spread the news of your heroic quest to rid the land of this evil from the raiders, those within your grasp threatened by larger groups will see you as a hero.” Her tone quickly changed to cold heartless feel,” But there will always be them within those larger groups that will believe they can can take care of the raiders themselves and try to set up their own nations like you. There mistrust will always go against you taken a hold of there compounds and those they might taint.”
Sonya's pause from moving was soon lifted as if she was a leopard as she slowly walked the opposite side of the room around the table towards Eric all the while keeping her eyes upon him. ” You like history ? My Uncle loved it and something's he spoke about rubbed off on me,” still she walked the table focused on Eric.” Don't get me wrong these small raiders may give us some much needed leeway and get us on good terms with groups. But once they see you open Pandora’s box, large groups will also use these raiders to gain power to form armies with small group.” When she had finally walked around the table she paused in front of him and spoke softly a quote she had always remembered. ” A famous general once said. As a rule, men worry more about what they can't see than about what they can. Raiders are people the groups are use too. Play with there fear, blame who ever you want, but when people are afraid they may just be more willing to give up more freedom. The United States had U.S.S.R, Roman had the Celts, The British had France and Spain. These nations grew from fear of invasion from larger nations and not small waring tribes like raiders. Use the raiders to build an army, but create a fear so they are more will to follow.”

"Yes, I could stand to like being a hero." He chuckled as he said that, keeping his icy stare on Sonya as she spoke about telling tall tales when it came to larger raiding groups.
What she said next resonated with him. What they didn't see was more worrisome. They could go to the smaller groups with tales of larger groups, almost armies, coming across the lands and taking what they wanted from them. Strongholds were there, he knew it, but he didn't know exactly where. He wanted to establish a group that could go and find these places. He would start to make long, winding circles to find these communities and he knew he had to start in his own back yard first.
"I like that idea quite a bit. Tell them we've paid witness to armies of men and women who we've personally seen devastate communities. Tell them we almost fell if it weren't for a few crafty members and some heavy ammo."
He looked at Sonya with a smirk as she stood before him. He nodded to her and wanted this eruption of oversized information to explode like a volcano.
"Go to that group in Georgetown. Tell them we've seen a large group coming out way from West Virginia and we've been monitoring them. Tell them they are a least a hundred strong."
Sonya stood there and listened as final a plan she agreed with came to Eric's mind. Already areas of interest came to mind,
” I'll oversee your plan personally, I shall let them know within the hour of this large group. It was a hard line view Sonya agree with, without fear there could be no peace and the loss of freedom was a price that needed to be paid for humanity to survival.” I’ll also get some of my men to start setting the town alight and by nightfall I'll start sending up flares over the White House. Than with some rounds into the dark, the noise with the flares should echo the approaching trouble to these surrounding compounds face,”
For second she just stood there contemplating ideas,” By lunchtime tomorrow they should have a horde of walkers on their door and with careful planning some of their security patrols will be culled.” Straight away she went with an idea off the top of her head, ”I’d like to strap four remote explosives to some walkers, when they see them exploded they may be more willing to waste their ammo on the horde. Then after a time I’ll send my men in under your personal command to help. We can kill two birds with one stone and get the brothers to push the walkers in the area into their zone over the next few days. They waste ammo, fear of no way to protect against this invader of yours and also attacks on patrols by raiders will just be too much. They will tell stories of your deeds in years to come on how you turn this city strong again.”
Sonya smiled as she realised the outcome, she slowly moved behind Eric and spoke into his ears as if a little voice in his head, ” By end of this week, you’ll finally have enough influence with these groups surrounding us to take this city into your hands. Your stronghold will become this city. Sonya smiled as she pointed out the window for Eric to see,
” By end of the month you will control every soul in the city and the city streets will be cleared of walkers all because of you.” Sonya's passion into what she saw saying soon made her excited as it was expressed through her words ,” Then those who are weak shall take their rightful place below us and we can use them to clear out the buildings that are infested.” Sonya couldn't help but laugh as she realised how close she was to forming a new order.” From these ashes a Phoenix will rise to signal the birth of a city that will save us all. Your city, your nation.”
Heading north from Mississippi was easy, provided you avoided population centers. Fewer people--alive or dead. It had been a long road, though starvation and dehydration remained the primary threats. Clayton Dumont suspected that he dispatched fewer than twenty walkers on his quest back to his hometown, Washington DC. He'd killed only one person--the girl, Leigh Anne, when he was still in the company of Anthony, Aron, and Candy. The image of her lifeless body haunted him from time to time. He'd done it as a mercy, as a precaution to the wellbeing of the three other people. But they hadn't seen it that way.
It didn't matter now. Having been a tenured professor at Georgetown, Clayton was familiar with DC and the surrounding area, which gave him an advantage when navigating the large city.
The wise move would have been to find a safe, unremarkable building in which he could take shelter. But returning to DC made Clayton pause and reflect. What had happened to the federal government? Had it crumbled, like the rest of society? Had it established itself underground, like some corny film? Was the President still pulling strings from an underground cave? No, not likely.
Still, curiosity got the better of Clayton and he decided he would venture to a destination that may provide answers: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Clayton Dumont had considered many scenarios, yet none of them involved a secured White House. So when he heard voices and commotion, and saw security gates and guards, his eyes widened, yet the ever-serious and stoic man couldn't help but smile as well. The White House was not only still standing, but was guarded. Perhaps order was not all lost, and perhaps a semblance of law remained.
Clayton approached the gates. "I mean no harm!" He called to them. "I..." what was Clayton to say to prove he was no threat? "I...was a professor at Georgetown!" Was all he could think of.

Eric approached Sonya closely now, placing a hand on her shoulder as she spoke such high praises about what he was. "You sing such high praises about me Sonya. Keep up the good work." He smiled wickedly at her as they stood there for a moment, but it wasn't long.
Something was going on outside and two of the militia men that had machine guns came back to the house as the approach of Clayton caught their attention. Two others that were on the roof pointed their rifles at Clayton, while two more on the ground approached him from the other side of the gate. "Hands up! Don't come any closer!" They would keep Clayton at bay until Eric was notified of what was going on and instructions were given.
"Sir, Ma'am, there's a visitor at the gates." One of the militia would speak up as they found Sonya and Eric inside the eating hall near the grand foyer.
Eric spoke up. "Shoot him and just injure him. Leave him for the biters." He didn't stand for rabble standing at the gate begging to get in. There was a method to his madness until the other man spoke up.
"He claims he was a professor at Georgetown."
Eric stood and thought for a minute as he retracted that thought and words about killing the man outside. He looked at Sonya and figured he would give her a little project first.
"Sonya, go take care of the begging Professor out front. Bring him in. I'll see if he can contribute here. Unless he was a professor of art. If that's the case, kill him on the lawn. Show him what 'splatter art' is all about. I need to find Serena."
He moved towards the doors and stopped for a moment. "Bring him into the Oval Office."
Sonya took off her jacket, leaving her in just her plain black t-shirt and trousers. She never questioned Eric for a second as she made her way out the door and out of the building. The guard who had informed Sonya and Eric of the guest walked two steps ahead of Sonya. Sonya reached for her sidearm and holster as she tipped the guard upfront on the shoulder. As the guard took the items she went straight to the radio.
” Eye in the sky from team leader,” she waited for a reply from the roof before continuing to speak.
” This is red two, waiting orders,” the guard on the roof gave his reply as he kept his gun sight on the guest as he waited her order to come through his earpiece.
” Don't fire till I give the order. Blue team stand down and let him in the gate as soon as I'm in sight. Let's go for the secretary play.”
As Sonya left the main building her walk went from a lady of confidence that held full control of the security of the complex to that of a secretary, making sure to place one foot in front of other and swinging her arm as walked to show hips. As she got within sight range she began to fidget with her fingers, trying to display nervousness and unhappiness having to approach the stranger. Acting had become a part of the game to survive and good way also of getting information when someone's guard is down. Once she got within distance to speak she spoke displaying a hint of nervousness in her voice.
” I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to hand over your weapons please,” Sonya tilted her head as if nervous on how he’d react, ” It's for safety, I'm sure your friendly, but we need to be sure. You can understand yes. She stood a pose that looked uncomfortable making it look as if she was out of her depth.
The guards had their sights on Clayton--and he could certainly understand why. He hadn't been given explicit instructions to keep his hands above his head, but he'd done so, just in case. Another guard and a woman emerged from inside, and it seemed the woman was the one in charge of admitting people--this gave Clayton pause. Did the White House of today's world just take anyone inside? That would hardly be sustainable--every unwashed, helpless, useless person would be coming to the building once the word got out. Why ask Clayton to lay down his weapon, if they weren't going to let him in? And if they were going to let him in, why? Clayton was not upset by this fact--indeed, it was what he wanted. He was simply confused.
"Yes, I certainly do understand. I have a 9mm pistol holstered on my right hip. It has no ammunition, but I will remove it now." With that, Clayton slowly lowered his right hand and unholstered the gun. The left arm remained high above his head. "I will now place it on the ground," Clayton added, and made his way to one knee, and gently placed the weapon on the ground.
Clayton stood once again, and raised his other hand above his head once again. "My name is Clayton Dumont. I am from Alexandria, Virginia, and I was a professor of political science--with a focus on political theory--at Georgetown University."

Serena drummed her fingers on the desk, her nails making rhythmic taps on the wooden surface. Laid out along the surface were maps of the surrounding area, stacked and layered on top of each other. Little pencil tics marked the parchment, in addition to the occasional X or full circle, and her eyes scanned the documents with a focused gaze. She propped her face on her hand, cheek resting against her fist, and let out a low sigh. With the world at its end, there were no distractions, not like before. She couldn't check her email or her phone when she needed a brief reprieve from work. She had been making notes and picking prospective locations all morning, and now, she decided that she had enough information set aside to where she could stretch her legs without consequence.
She stood and gathered the papers, filed them into a neat stack before tucking them away in a manila envelope. She moved into the hall and searched for her leader, her heels making measured clicks against the tile and announcing her presence. She dressed smartly in a black dress, the neck set just above the collarbone, her arms exposed once the fabric stopped just after the shoulder. She walked with a grace that could only come from a privileged upbringing, and she exuded class without any sort of effort. Her stark blue eyes scanned the halls for her leader, and when she finally spotted him, he was exiting the dining hall.
She smiled politely and tried to catch his eyes, though her stride slowed as she approached. She admired him from beneath her long lashes, his poise, his power. She was only alive because of him and his dominion, and she knew that. She respected that. She slowed her steps as she closed the distance between them, and once she was near enough for him to hear her speak, she held the envelope against her covered chest. "Good morning, Sir."
She stood at attention at his side and awaited his reply before she spoke again. She had learned to gauge his mood by his tone, how busy he was based on his diction. An impeccable judge of character, she made it a point to consider his response before she came back with one of her own. "If you aren't too busy, I'd like to show you some things that I was looking over this morning. I made a few notes near Capitol Hill that you might be interested in."

Eric watched as Sonya took control of everything outside. It was a minor glitch in the plan that was to come. Her goal of the day was to find Argile and get him back to the White House and implement a plan of fear amid his people, regardless of how many were at his little Brownstone complex. One stronghold at a time...that's what he would tell himself. These things took time. Power took time and convincing and now that they were well underwater in the obliteration of mankind, it was time for a true leader to start to emerge. There was no denying that leader was him. His mind was so deeply wrapped around that ideal that nothing else mattered. Those who didn't agree would be killed.
He heard the sweet voice to him sing like a sparrow at spring and he looked at Serena. She was holding an envelope close to her chest and he smiled wide, like a predator that knew he just found the catch of the day.
"A vision of loveliness on this spring morning." He approached Serena, dipping his hands down into his pockets as he got closer. He looked down at her, just a bit as she was wearing her heels and he offered her a wink. "Come to the Oval Office. I've a guest arriving, maybe..." Depending on what Clayton's chosen professional teachings were. Sonya knew what to do if he was useless to them. He trusted her instincts, utterly and completely.
He pulled his hands out of his pockets and led the way with her. One hand fell to her lower back the other motioned for her to follow along. He whistled quietly as the moved down the hall, eyes looking up to the vaulted ceiling where the stairs led up and back down the hall again.
Once inside, the bright sun outside lit up the room that had no more electricity. He made it a priority to keep the tunnels beneath the white house lit up and all the energy into the refridgerators. There wasn't going to be much left soon.
Once he got her inside the office, he left one of the large double doors open as Sonya would be coming back soon and Serena had some business to show him anyways. It wasn't what he wanted from her at the moment, but if she had notes, he would listen. There was a reason why she was allowed to stay and it was two-fold for her.
"Alright then, share your notes with me." There was a pause for a second as he looked her over with a wild grin on his face. He moved her towards the Presidential desk where they would both stand and discuss her plans, but it was never just a casual discussion between them. He needed to have control over her and he craved that control. He was convinced she craved being being controlled just as much as he him. While she pulled the paper out, he moved behind her, hands wrapping around her hips as he moved in close. She could feel his desire for her already against her as his lips moved to her ear, quietly whispering to her. "Read away." Why make this easy for her?
Sonya stood there and smiled as Clayton upholstered his weapon. He continued to hold his hands over his head, to which she had to give him some credit for, but in the end it would make no difference and he be dead in a split second if be tried to harm anyone or if she decided his fate here. She held her hand behind her back with a closed fist, if she opened her fist behind her back, she’d lead him across the grass to the red zone and he’d be laid to rest like the others who were unworthy by a single shot from the roof. Once he told her that he was a professor of political science Sonya decided to let Eric judge him.
” You can lower your hands and step through the gate. Your safe Professor Dumont,” with the hand that almost sealed his faith she offered that the arm out to escort him to the main building,” If you want to drop your stuff, I can make sure someone delivers them to you afterwards. We were about to move you on till you said you were a professor. ” People didn't get moved on, just put down.
Sonya kept her smile as her eyes remained locked onto his, ” All I can say is, if you are who you say, “ still she offered her arm as if waiting for a prom date to walk her to the dance. Then Leave your baggage here and come.”

Conversing with Eric was like playing a loaded game of chess. She was skilled, knew which pieces to move and where to move them, but somehow, he always seemed to be one step ahead. Her entire life had been spent trumping those around her, ascending the societal ladder until she stood at the top. She had never been beaten by anyone, not until she met Eric, and now it appeared that she could never win. She had met her match, and she couldn't say that that disappointed her.
"Thank you, Sir. Did you sleep well?" She responded to his advances with polite gratitude, but they both knew that neither of them were particularly interested in the other's sleeping patterns. It was always a game with him, and today, she hadn't been sure how to play it. There were times when all he wanted was to hear her plans for his dominant future, and other times, her lips were too preoccupied with something else to get the words out. But as she walked with him down the hallway and felt his strong hand guide her at the lower back, she knew what his decision was. She let him lead her into the Oval Office, a place she had been with him on more than one occasion, and continued their measured small talk. She had a feeling it wouldn't be lasting much longer. "Oh, a new arrival? How are they of use to you?"
Together, the pair crossed to the desk, another place that she had frequented on more than one occasion, and she smirked ever so slightly at the memory. She kept her stance poised and elegant, the symbol of grace, and noted how he left a door open. The very idea of getting caught sent a slight prickle up her spine, but she kept her gestures smooth and controlled as she pulled her papers from her envelope. She heard him ask for her to share her notes with him, but as he came and held her from behind by the hips, she felt his need against her and those small prickles turned to fire. His breath tickled on her ear as he asked her to read, but it was just another piece moved on the chess board, another one of her pawns knocked to the floor. She longed for his touch, his possession, his control. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced before all of this. The dead had risen, but from the catastrophe, she had met Eric Folsom. And that seemed like a fair trade to her.
But she wouldn't let him call checkmate, not yet. He owned her, every inch of her, but she liked to play coy. He would dominate her, he always did and he always would. She would surrender herself to him in the end. But laying down and giving up was no fun, not for either of them. She liked to stick her hand in the tiger's cage. Give him a reason to pounce.
"I was looking at some developments out on the east side. There are properties that are bundled together. Right about here." She felt him against her backside and leaned into him, letting her body rest against his front. She fit against him like a puzzle piece, and as she displayed her notes, she cocked her head slightly to gaze up at him. She kept herself cool, collected, but she had a fire in her eyes as she spoke to him. Her lips moved near his neck, his jaw, just an inch away. She circled a property with her nimble finger. "It's a gated community. There may still be supplies left in the basements, and the homes themselves can be fortified in the future. All you have to do is penetrate the defenses."
But if she knew Eric, and she liked to think that she did in some facet or another, she had a feeling that her own defenses were about to get blown wide open.
Professor Dumont. Clayton couldn't help at smirking when he heard the title. It had been years since he was referred to as Professor Dumont. In his smaller, graduate-level classes, he'd let students call him Clayton. Not out of any friendliness, it was just easier. A formality not required in that setting. Perhaps formalities were more respected here. It did not matter to Clayton one way or the other.
"There isn't much in my bag," Clayton began, removing his backpack. "Bottle and a half of water. Some of the ammunition for the pistol. And...something I have been writing." The treatise of government that Clayton had began working on in Louisiana was still with him. Perhaps it would be of use here, or perhaps they would not have need of it.
"Worry not. It is not a work of fiction, nor am I an author of tales. It is a political treatise." Clayton placed his pack on the ground and once again raised his arms--just in case.
After taking a few more steps towards the woman, Clayton nodded to her. "After you."

Serena felt warm against him as he purred quietly in her ear. She knew damn well he was trying to distract her, to get her voice to hiccup and get her throat to close. It was a game he played to see how far he could rupture her aura of calm when she saw him. Sometimes it took very little, other days it was a challenge and he liked that. She was a puzzle box that hadn't quite been opened all the way. He had a feeling if he did, he would find some demons that would leap out and devour him. That turned him on even more about her.
His hands felt around her waist, up her rib cage and under her breasts as he looked over her shoulder to the plans of the gated community.
"Do you know people are in there or are you just assuming they are?" If anyone knew were people were, it was Sonya and her team and he would easily find out on a mission to find these strongholds. His first mission was to find Argile though and he wasn't about to give up on that first.
"Are you sneaking out at night to scout? Because if that's the case you know I won't be very happy with that at all." One hand wrapped around her waist while the other pushed at her back, suddenly pushing her down and bending her over the desk. His icy stare quickly moved to the door before looking back down on her clutching the papers.
He remained behind her, but released her body and took a step back. "Stay right there."
It was a long two minutes that he made her stay in that place, punishment for even suggesting she knew what was beyond the white house when it came to people. She knew the area, the real estate, what was gated and what was wide open. She knew the bridges and the roads and that made her more then valuable to him. Amid other things. He looked at his watch that kept perfect time and let the awful silence linger between them. Once the two minutes was over, he smiled and went back to her, gently lifting her back up and helping her.
"You are beautiful when you listen to me." But they had to be professional. A new face was stepping into the Oval office soon and he needed to find out what this man wanted and why he was at the gates.
"When Sonya brings our new ...person...in, she's going off to Georgetown. There's a group living there led by a man named Argile. That's where the attention needs to go first, but if this gated community ends up being something you'll get your just rewards for finding it."
Sonya slow moved towards Clayton all the while keeping her eyes seductively locked on to his and a light smile to entice him into her web. As she stepped into his comfort zone, she placed her warm hands upon his and lowered them down. Sonya wrapped her hands around his as the warmth from her hands soaked into his. She found all to often a female touch could do wonders.
” Worry not,” as Sonya let Clayton’s hands go, her arm wrapped on to his as she lead him to the main building. He still seemed pretty nervous in her books, but she wanted to prep him for Eric and have him more open for him.
The guard walked a distance behind them as Sonya’s web grew. ” Where's my manners,” she spoke softly.” My name is Sonya Connors and I know someone who has great interest in people with high intelligence like you Professor Dumount.” As they finally reach the main door, she held it open for him to step in as the Guard followed at a distance encase he was needed.
” I'm going to have to give you a pat down,” letting go of his arm she turned facing Clayton eye to eye,” So tell me who is Professor Dumping.”
The woman's hands reached out to grab Clayton's, slowly bringing them down and back to his sides. Such an action gave Clayton pause. She seemed confident, almost trying to entice him...seduce him. Clayton shrugged off the thought. She was likely just being nice, trying to be inviting. Which was appreciated. Clayton, an admittedly awkward man, nodded and smiled as she released his hands. "Yes. I...yes. I suppose I don't need to keep my hands raised all the time." He forced a chuckle as he followed the woman, who introduced herself as Sonya Connors.
Clayton's lips pursed as she explained that "someone" here had a great interest in intelligent folks. Feigning humility, Clayton snorted. "Well-educated, anyways. Intelligent? Oh, I am not sure," he smiled at the woman for a moment before she informed him she'd need to pat him down. "Of course, I understand."
She'd asked him who he was. His story. No, this was not just their "doorman" or...doorwoman. This woman, with her kindness...and now asking him for his story. This was not idle talk...not casual conversation. Clayton did not mind though, as he had nothing to hide.
"Professor Dumont...oh, Christ. Call me Clayton. I was a professor, as I said, before the outbreak. I..." Clayton trailed off, realizing he hadn't truly recounted those early events for a long time. "I lost my family early. Wife and a son--toddler. I made my way south from there, along the coast until I cut inland before I went down into Florida...there, I met a group in Louisiana, and was with them for quite some time--until I decided to retrace my steps." Clayton nodded once more, feeling satisfied with the explanation he'd given Sonya. Of course, there were more details to give, and he had questions of his own, too, but those would be for whoever was waiting for him inside.

Serena took a slow, measured breath as she felt him against her ear. A chill ran down her spine, and though she tried to fight it off, his hands came beneath her breasts and she rested back into him out of instinct. It was easy to play the game, to move the pieces, but his touches always signaled her demise. She kept her face collected as she spoke, but she ached for him, and they both knew it. "I don't assume people or groups. I just know that the basements are deep and lock up well, so there may still be supplies from people who never made it home, or people who left."
She let out a quiet breath as his arm came to wrap around her waist. He was always sporadic with his affections, always withholding. There were times where his physical affections were sparse and cold, a simple touch of the back, the face. There were times where he would take her completely and allow her to stay in his bed for the night. Other times, she was ordered to leave. It was always a guessing game with Eric, always that last bishop on the board. She never knew which direction he was going to move in.
"No, that's not the case. You know where I've been at night, Sir." But he made his diagonal move, and before she knew it, she was bent over the desk. It wasn't unlike Eric to be rough with her, but she had never been good at accurately anticipating it. He was too wild, too unpredictable despite his calculative nature. He was sure and steady in all things, except for his behavior towards her. She let out a gasp and clutched the papers to her chest, and although she hadn't been expecting the treatment, she was aroused by his power. "My apologies, Sir."
She didn't know what she had done wrong. She didn't know what she was apologizing for. She had a sneaky suspicious that whatever reason he found had been fiction, just some reason or another to dominate the situation. But she didn't mind it. She felt tingles rush to the apex of her thighs as she anticipated what he would do next. She wanted his touch, rough or tender. From this position, she wasn't able to see him, only hear him when he ordered her to stay there. She hoped to hear him unhook his belt, or feel his hand spank her. This wasn't the first time that she had been punished, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.
But she sat in tense, excited silence for what felt like an eternity before he righted her. He was back to being tender, just for the moment, as he helped her regain her composure. She felt his hands on her hair, her face, straightened her back up to her optimal appearance. It happened so fast, as it always did, and it left her head spinning. But he called her beautiful, and said that he would reward her if the community proved fruitful. She smiled and straightened her papers, holding the folder against her chest, playing just as meek and timid as when she had met him that morning. "Thank you, Sir. I won't fail you. None of us will."

Eric appreciated fine art. He had many, many secrets, but that was not one of them. To him, Serena in this position was the finest art there was. Some may tend to disagree but with her staying put the way she was for him, it was as if he had just painted the Mona Lisa on his desk. He was aroused, yes, but not visibly so. He could control himself but she would see it in his face. The way he looked at her with a cold, calculated stare with a hint of a smirk on his lips meant she would be in his bedroom tonight.
When he helped her back up, he straightened out her hair and pushed her skirt back in place, leaving his fingers lingering on her hips for a moment as he turned her to face him. With that same smirk and that same look in his eyes, he reached up to touch her cheek lightly as if he were stroking a kitten. "There's a good girl."
She was always so formal with him and he wasn't sure how he felt about her calling him Sir all the time. It had been a while and he figured she was familiar enough with him, and then some, to move on to something less formal. "You can stop calling me 'sir' now Serena. Mr. Folsom will do."
Not many people called him Eric anymore. He wondered how many people actually knew his first name and honestly, he didn't want to be caught in such a compromising position with Serena. Not for his sake, but for hers. He knew if she was considered the teachers pet in here, it could be dangerous. Not many people liked that or tolerated it. She would be known as the girl who got to stay here because she was sleeping with the top dog. He wouldn't have that for her.
He continued to speak quietly, forgetting the plans and community she had found, for now. "I will protect you here. Just remember that, always. Tell me how loyal you are to me. Tell me I'm the only one."
He heard footsteps coming in through the front doors and some activity as the professor was brought inside by Sonya and her men. That was pressing business always when a newcomer arrived, but he wanted to hear those words from Serena. He made her say them when he felt the whim to test her loyalty. After all, there was still the ever lingering thought that someone in her life may come back to lay claim. He wanted to make sure that would never happen. He gave her everything she needed and she was sweetly compliant back.
He took a step back, giving them a bit of distance between each other before the intruder was brought in, quirking a brow as he moved to the desk and took a seat, offering her one on the couches in front of the desk. "Of course you won't fail. It's the reason you're here."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
