"Jesus Christ- outta the way!" he yelled pointlessly at the oncoming herd, slamming down on the accelerator again. The truck lurched forwards, then peeled out, bouncing shamblers off the front and sides of the car. Gore streaked the sides of the vehicle as multiple shamblers collapsed from the weight of the truck passing over them. For a few, very terrifying moments, a single undead managed to cling onto the hood of the truck and started clawing at the windshield. Michael violently turned the wheel, nearly throwing the truck onto its side, but succeeding in sending the shambler flying off onto the ground. When they were finally free of the huge amount of undead, Michael didn't even stop to look. He spun the truck out of gas station lot and tore down the highway at a ludicrously fast speed.
When he finally stopped, they had placed an untold amount of miles between them and the herd. They'd probably be safe for a little while if they remained distracted by the car alarms. Michael couldn't let go of the steering wheel, his knuckles white and his eyes shaking slightly in their sockets.
"Never," he said slowly, "And I mean NEVER are we EVER going to stay in a gas station for the night. Okay? I'm putting this ground rule into effect right now." He took an unsteady breath, listening to the gentle rumble of the truck's engine as they sat there, parts of it creaking from the sudden and violent motions they had just undertaken. He glanced at Haven, sucking on his bottom lip anxiously. "D-did...You didn't g-get bit or scratched, did ya?" he asked anxiously.
