Max listened to Sarah. He was glad she agreed but he wanted to know how Abby felt about all this. She had killed Pete for roughly the same reason, could she did it again. Would she kill or be okay with them killing for safety.
"I'll be back. You need to eat something. I know after what just happened you may not want to, but you need to try Allstar," Max said kissing her again, "Sarah is right you may very well be carrying for two now."
Max tightened the strap of the rifle and walked out the door. He headed towardse tree line. He avoided everyone, not letting them stop him on the way out.
Max has left the thread

"I still think Arthur could have been reasoned with. He was a coward, scaring him would have done the trick. You're right banishment would have killed him. He could never have lived on his own. Arthur was a pain in the side and I disliked what he was doing. Back on the base, my C.O. Encouraged him to do the experiments. He wanted to save the human race and Arthur promised he could. When my C.O. died I should have stopped it but I didnt. Part of me still had hope," Amber said turning to head back.
"I won't cross you or the farm. I just don't like killing our members. I get what you are saying though. We needed to act fast. Charles just know the soldiers I sent out an Becky you will never harm. If you do it won't end well. They were my family before this, I will fight for them. It's one of the reasons I want them home safe."
She started to walk back to the porch, "let's get Arthur out back. Grab some blankets or a trap to wrap home while we carry him. If we need to I can swing the SUV around the side and drive him there. Be careful with your hand, don't strain it."
She looked at some of the people who had gathered. "I need Georgia, Sam, and Becky with me," she said, "the rest of you continue as it was. The three I called need to help me an charles with the work that needs to be done."
Declan nodded at the girl who told him about the jack. He went over to it and grabbed it. He brought it over and placed it under the right side of the car. He began to crank it up, it was harder then he thought it would be. He'd only ever used a jack once in his life and that was an automatic one. Declan took a little bit but managed to get the car as high as he needed. Declan went at the bolt from the angle trying to get it out. It slowly began to come out until he eventually managed to take it out. Declan took off the tire and wheel and put them in their respected piles. He went over and slowly brought it down from the jack then put the jack back where it was. Declan began on the doors next, they would more then likely be used for the wall.
Brian hobbled into the kitchen just in time to see Max leave. "Where's he going," he asked lookiing at the two girls and the two cooks. "Do I need to speak to him?"
He heard the door close and set his eyes on the women, "what did max mean Charles killed Arthur? What was going on? Could you not have just forced him to leave."
Louis looked up from his pot and at the three before him, "Arthur's dead? Was it his experiments? I always hated those he wouldn't stop. I knew he wouldn't stop here, I should have done Something."
Kari looked up at all of them, "charles killed someone? Who saw? Arthur was an asshole, he needed to die. All assholes need to die," she said looking at Abby, "all assholes. They eventually become the ones at the junkyard." She shivered and continued chopping items for the soup.
Abby looked up as Brian came in," he's going hunting, he needs some space." She glanced at Sarah as the others asked questions," I don't know, Charlie made the decision , I didn't shoot him, but he was covered in blood and he came from the barn." Abby stiffened a bit," he was experimenting and that puts us all at risk and he had been warned." She was getting defensive. She looked at Sarah," I wanna go upstairs and lay down." She just wanted to get away from these people and their judgement of how things were handled. It was done and over. Nothing was going to change. She got up and ran up stairs to her room. She laid down on the bed and hoped Max would be back soon.
Sarah watched Abby get up and flee up stairs. She turned to face Brian and the others," Charlie is the leader here, he did what he had to do to protect us all. Arthur was not rational and he proved that by going against is and continuing his experimnents. If we sent him away, who knows what he would have done. " she shook her head at Brian," it was not her fault, and now she has fled upstairs, she needs is to be supportive of her now, and the few others from the junkyard that are with child. We need to be strong for them, especially if Amber and Charlie are leaving for another run!" She looked at Louis," can you make sure someone takes food up to her?" She left the kitchen through the back door. Right now she was disappointed in them and needed to walk away before she said something she would regret later.
"I trust your judgement in people. Arthur was part of your group only because you would never abandon anybody but he was not like the others. They are good people and they would never risk the lives of everyone on this farm."
Charles looked at the man. He didn't look particularly heavy and he had freshly died so he would still be manageable on his own.
"It will be awkward to carry him together and it's not worth starting the suv. We will do a sweep after I get him there. We need to make certain that we found them all and get their bodies ready for the pier as well. We can't risk him having hid something a little further out or where he got them. We haven't seen this many of them this close we need to know their numbers if there is a pack nearby."
Brian watched Abby run upstairs and turned to look at Sarah. "Acording to Max him, charles, abby, and your are all the leaders. I get that we did what he had to do but he should have gave Arthur a chance. He hadn't endangered anyone yet. What he was doing was wrong but he shouldn't have been given a chance to live. If he came back or acted out then you could have killed him."
He watched Sarah turn and walk away, "I wasn't blaming you or her. But you are just as much of a leader as Charles or Max. If anyone could have stopped him from killing the man it would have been you. He listened to you more than anyone," he called to her, but she was gone, the call falling silent.
Lousi caught Sarah on the way out, "I'll have Kari bring her up her breakfast. With all that happened she didn't eat anything yet."
---
Kari took the plate she had brought out to the porch earlier and climbed the stairs. Quietly she knocke on the door and Waite and answer.
---
Olivia watche Declan remove the wheel as she went to look at the engine. "So Declan what did you do before all this? You have that phone I've seen, always writing in it. Were you a part time writer or something?"
Penny climbed around back of the car and continued removing seats and the innards of the car. She remaiend quiet, not wanting to speak and just work.

"These men in Charolette. They will be a huge asset to the farm. I don't know how much is with he group but these three are all skilled soldiers. I could tell you about them and their skills of you wanted. I wouldn't have let them go if I didn't trust them. I also wouldn't be asking for help if I didn't need it," Amber said as they came to the body.
"Do you keep any of his itnes, belt, boot, that kind of stuff. We would burry them as is but burning is different. I Burne Pete with wat he was wearing but we may need clothes. We never know when we will come across more. Ecspecially boots and gloves. A good pair is hard to find," she said looking down, "I would rather we leave him as is but it's your call."
When he said he'd carry it she nodded, "don't strain your hand. Still not healed fully. Would hate for it to pop," she said loooking at the two fingers that remained. "Are you getting used to it now? When you grip and grab things."
Sam looked at Charles, "the others were chained at the far shed. I'll take you to them while you carry Ar.. The body."
Amber looked at Becky and Georgia, "you two grab some rifles, the scars. Equip silencers and bring them back. Two should work for just you two. The rest of us will use melee, while you hang back and provide cover of there's a hoarde or some other cause."
The blonde and th redhead nodded and went to the Humvee to grab the rifles. They returned and held them ready. Amber grabbed her knife from the strap on her boot and pulled it up, "let's meet Charles at the pier," she said beginig to walk after the two men.
Declan smacked his hand with the screwdriver. He cursed for a moment and looked at his hand. Declan then wiped his forehead and continued with what he was doing. He continued to take the car apart, after a few moments the last bolt was taken out and he pulled the door off. He carried it to it's respected pile and went over to the car sitting down in it for a moment. "What about you? Were you like a mechanic or something?" He asked as he looked around the car. The seats were still in good condition and were comfortable. Declan stood back up after a moment, going to work on the back door of this side. "What?" He was spoken to. "No, those are just my notes." He said with a slight laugh. "I was an electrician before all this. I'm guessing you were a mechanic?"
Abby laid curled up on the bed. She was holding onto Max's pillow when the knock came. She was agrivated at Brian for what he implied with his words. She was worried about Max, and the people on the farm. What if Cjarlie killing Arthur caused some serious issues with trust. She crawled off the bed and snatched the door open expecting Sarah.
She blinked as she saw Kira and the tray. " I don't think I can eat anything." She stood staring at Kira. She held the door open seeing that the woman was not going to take no for an answer." Fine , set it on the dresser and thank you for making it." Abby sat down on the edge of the bed.

"We burn him as is. He may have been an idiot but he us still one of ours. We don't disrespect our people like that, even if we have to kill them."
He nodded at her comment about not straining his hand. He was getting used to using it now but he knew that it was still healing.
"I'll be careful, and yeah I'm getting used to it. Not going to carry him over there so I'll drop him off and then come over."
He lifted Arthur up and started walking towards the back. It was a bit tiring but he enjoyed the hard work. It gave him something to do that didn't involve staying in bed because he was healing. He had gotten up and around a little but had yet to be able to do something truly helpful.

Amber, Georgia, and Becky all walked around back to where the bodies were. They were slimy, decaying, hadn't been human in a long time. This meant he didn't kill some one to do this, and that was all she had asked before. Amber had been to easy on him back at the base, his death was on her. It was her fault. She didn't watch him or set someone to watch him, she had let him experiment and now he was dead.
"Let's... Let's burn the bodies," she said reaching down to look at it, "how far is the pier?" She didn't know where it was, she had guessed they may not even have one. There were burn marks in a field but there was a truck parked there now, "or do we just want to pile them here?"
She looked at Georgia and Becky, "leave the SCARs and go get some of the kindling for the fire. We don't want to waste fuel if we can."
The two women walked off and Sam looked up at Charles. She could see fear in his eye, he was scared of the man. Sam had this look in combat, afraid to loose his life.
"I just... I just can't belive you killed him," Sam said avoiding the man's eyes, "I was coming from there too. Covered in blood. Glad you didn't shoot me too."

Olivia looked at Declan, "yeah mechanic. Whole family was. We owned a garage. Fixed junkers like these mostly." She paused as she pulled out parts, "guess that makes sense, explains why you have a tool belt. You were the one who fixed the windows right? If we didn't need the doors for the wall we could have uses steel plating to cover it."
---
Kari set down the tray and looked at Abby. "No one blames you or Sarah," she said barely audible, "from what I heard he wasn't very liked. Everyone hated him. He won't be missed."
Abby stared at Kira as she spoke," that's not the point, Kira. They think we handled it wrong, they think Charloe was wrong and they won't trust him as leader. " she shook her head and drew her legs up, wrapping her arms around them," I need this place, need somewhere to be safe. " she ran a hand through her hair," I've just got a lot going on, that's all. " she looked up at her" you are right though. Assholes like the ones at that junkyard do deserve to die, but this is different. The military guys knew him for a lot longer than we did. Though if he couldn't stop it sounds like he was obsessed ." Abby forced a small smile," thanks for bringin the food, I will try to eat something."
Charles looked at Sam and truly felt sorry that he had scared him so badly, even if he didn't regret his decision to shoot the man.
"It may not make a lot of sense to you but that was the decision I had to make. He was putting this place, and all of you, at risk. Banishment would have meant death for him as well. He never would have made it out there. Unfortunately, death, and killing is part of life now. There are times where we get to make the decision and this was one of them. It was either him, or risk one or more of you. As for you, I trust you. I know you wouldn't do anything to risk others lives."
He moved over to where the other bodies were and moved a little past it just so that the fire would be clear of any buildings and trees.
"We burn them here. No reason to try and move them all too far away, we just need to clear the buildings and any trees sk we don't start a bigger fire then we need."
Declan sat there listening. So of course she was a mechanic. Very useful to have in a world like this. He then heard her talk about him and the window. "Yeah I done them when y'know the whole incident had happened. Y'know they ain't the best but they'll hold for a while and you're right the doors would come in handy for the windows." He said as he started to remove bolts from the door. "So since you were a mechanic, can you identify these pair of clunkers?" Declan asked as a little challenge as he took the door off, nearly falling backwards. He placed it in it's pile and sat down for another little rest. He sat in the front again looking at the interior again. The dashboard was dusty.

"There wasnt a decison to be made. It had to be done. Charles is right, he put us all at risk," Amber said picking up one of the bodies. She dragged it over and placed it ontop of Arthur's. "I doubt anyone wants to say anything, but we probably should. It's the right thing to do. He wasn a Sinner like the others, he was human, and aquatince." She looked down.
Georgia and Becky both dragged over a Sinner and placed them with the others. "So check the trees and shed," the blonde asked, "we should divide it up."
"Beckys right," Georgia spoke, "sam and Her can look at the sheds and barn, while the other three sweep the trees."
"Sounds good with me, what do you say charles," Amber asked raising a brow, "where's max? He should help now."
------
Kira looked at Abby "I don't think you handled it wrong. I'm sure there out other who do too. They will still trust you as a leader. You need to speak to everyone as leaders though. Gather them all up." She looked at the food, "I was told you need to eat. Brian and Louis both said its a must. Even if it's just crackers."
-----
Olivia wiped he greasy hands on her pants, "truth is I don't know. Was never a car buff. I can take them apart and fix them up, but don't know cars. That was my husband, my brother, and my dads passion. They were the car nuts. I just liked the work."
Abby stared at her , then the food. She felt like she was being forced. She hated to be forced to do anything. She sighed and glanced at Kira, 'Leave it, i will try to eat something. Maybe some broth later. I just don't want to push it. I will nibble if nothing else, ok?" She forced a smile, "Hey, when Max gets back, tell him I am up here, please?" She didn't expect him to be gone too much longer, and she really wanted to talk to him.
Sarah was so aggrivated she could spit nails. She slammed out the back door and went looking for Charlie. She saw him , and headed over to him. Brian had ticked her off, and she needed to vent, before she did or said something she would regret. She stood back and looked at Charlie, then saw Amber. She sighed, and shook her head, "Charlie, can I talk to you?" She folded her arms around her waist. Charlie would know the sign, know she was mad, and she wanted to talk to him. Sarah stared at Amber, then looked at Charlie, "Alone, please."
