Remy watched the tension start to disburse, mostly because Ellie stormed out in a huff and taking her sudden loftiness with her. She brought a hand to her forehead and pushed back to her long hair that was in tangles around her face. She tried to comb it out with her fingers, only to feel the knots in the ends that she would eventually have to cut out at some point.
"Look it's been a long day. Daisy and Damon probably won't be too long and Andrei, Ellie, Amarie and Jasper are all here to keep watch." She looked at Jay with a sideways glance as she spoke to him but wanted to make sure Andrei heard her as well. "You're Andrei's patient so what he says goes." She paused for a second before continuing. "And if things don't go as he says, he won't think twice to end it."
It was a vote of confidence to Andrei, knowing he could handle most any situation and tuck whatever residual emotions away. That was clear when she went past the marker left for his redheaded friend that didn't quite survive the journey. Surely he had developed some sense of companionship with her and to lose her probably took a toll. He would never show it and she knew he wouldn't. She turned back to Andrei as he told her to go upstairs, placing a heavy hand on his shoulder as she offered a weak enough smile to him. "Get some food. When Jay goes to the trailer, sleep. Get some rest before heading out, okay?"
She knew his plan was to get to a boat and she could get him to the harbor to see if he could salvage something, but she really didn't want him to go. Not because she didn't want him to not find his family, but because she feared he wouldn't make it there.
She kept her gaze on Andrei for a few more seconds before hearing a few dishes clattering around in the kitchen. Listening even carefully, she could hear Ellie muttering although the words were not discernable enough for any of them to really understand. Maybe Amarie and Jasper could hear her, but it was probably better off if everyone didn't. "Don't pay no mind to Ellie. She's all bark, no bite." That's the way Ellie was growing up, although now, it may be a different story. She could be all bark now. This world made people bite..and bite hard.
Taking Andrei's advise, she turned from the room and headed back upstairs, taking each step deliberately slowly as she moved back towards the bedroom she was now sharing with Owen. Watching him melt down was not something she was accustomed to and it made her wary of where their relationship stood. He offered himself up as a sacrifice to make things right with his brother, neglecting everything they had spoken about. He promised he wouldn't leave her and to her, that promise was broken.
Slowly she opened the door, swallowing that feeling of abandonment. She thought of her mother in the shed, shackled like a prisoner and waiting for her next meal that would likely never come. She saw Owen standing in the room as the door squeaked quietly to announce her presence. "Hey. You okay?"
