The season of fall was once haleys favorite time of year. The leaves changing and becoming these beautiful colors that painted the scenery. Now no attention was paid anymore to the trees or world. Not by this girl she was one who cared about keeping up her appearance the best she could. She was to busy running for her life or trying to find things to make life seem normal. Call it denial or call it trying to cope with the world going to hell. She was always one of those people who cared about outward appearance. That's how she was for as long as she can remember and she wasn't gonna change that. Because to her that was giving up on everything that was normal and good in her life. She couldn't give up. She wouldn't give up. Because then what would she have to live for.
Haley found herself driving slowly roads looking at the destroyed remains of humanity. She missed the fashion and the food. Yes you would think she would be more sentimental and miss people but honestly she was never close to anyone. Her mom the one person she loved was gone a long time ago and she shut herself off from emotional attachment and became this horrible fashion obseseed monster. The only love she had was for ballet. That was her life and now that all this was gone she just had herself and her looks. That was okay with her though.
Pulling her car over and into a park she saw a clothing store that she once loved. This was where she bunkered down and had managed to survive for a while. She had gained the keys to the boutique by killing the shop owner. A women who she had known at all her time spent in the store trying on clothing and enjoying the fashionable life.
Haley glaneed around the street and it seemed clear enough to head for the door. Grabbing a duffle from the back with some random canned goods she had found on a sweep of homes not far from her hideout. She got out of the car and made a quick dashower for the door. It would be nightfall soon enough. The time of the dead to be active.
She placed the key into its slot and the lock clicked. She sat her bag inside and pulled the metal cage security gate down to the ground and locked it. She then moved into the glass door and pulled the door shut. Locking it she headed through the dark shop to the office which had become her home as of late. She sat the bag inside and locked the solid door. She placed fabric at the bottom so no light pass and give away her nest. She then sat on her bed on the floor and laid back. She was so tired. She pulled her gun to the side of the bed and just stared at the ceiling blankly.
