Thad tore down the road, the wind whipping through his hair. He looked straight ahead, no emotion on his face. He didn't have any, not now. He had one goal in mind, that was just to clear his head.
He stopped the bike, coming to skidding stop. Vans and other cars covered the road. It wasn't enough to go through. He could walk the bike, manuver through.
Climbing off he pressed his boot on the ground. Pulling the rifel ouff the back he put the strap around his body. The rifle rested on his back, sitting gently.
He pushed the bike past the first set of vehicles. A walker was torn in half, or crawled toward him. It snapped and Thad pushed on no caring about it.
He went past another set of cars. He could hear movement beyond the bushes, Walkers appearing. He kept moving, not giving a dam at them.
The walkers came up behind him, coming up through the cars. He kept ignoring them, they wouldn't get to him yet. He pushed the bike further ahead.
The walkers were getting closer, twenty or so following as he pushed the bike.

Once more Matt lost a group, while he was getting his car and supplies, he came back to a camp that was under attack. No clue where everyone went, he searched, but found nothing. After some days he gave up, he felt beaten, because he lost yet another group.
Now weeks later he was somewhere in North Carolina. He had to leave his car, since the road was blocked with deserted cars, vans and other stuff. He tried to be as quiet as possible and killed the walkers with his wrist weapon, making no sound, so he wouldn’t attract more. It was hard for Matt to be so quiet, but he wasn’t nervous or under pressure, so it went better than usual. It was when he took a moment to rest that something odd happened.
Matt was on the ground, sitting against a car as he heard noises, still a bit far, but they were there. He turned around but kept crouched and peeked over the car. It was then he noticed a man, black long hair, rough looking and he was pushing a bike. But that wasn’t the problem, that he was followed by twenty walkers, maybe even more, now that was disturbing. “Damn.” Matt softly said to himself as he sat back down leaning against the car. He had no clue who they guy was, all he thought was that the man had to be crazy, he was followed by walkers and he didn’t even care.
His fear of trusting people once more kicked in, but maybe it was justified this time. He grabbed his gun from the holster that was on his belt and waited. Sweat dripped of his forehead, as he had no clue what would happen.

Thaddeus heard the growl of the walkers and kept moving on. They stepped closer, as he squeezed between two cars. The walkers still followed getting closer and closer.
Thad turned letting out a scream. He pushed it up and backward. The Walker flew through the air as he shoved it back. It crashed into the four behind it knocking them all down.
Thaddeus opened fire, shooting again and again aiming at the walkers. He fired high and low, shooting legs and heads alike. He fired clip after clip until about four or five were left.
Turning the gun around he swung it like a club. The stock hitting the Walker in the head. Blood sprayed out the head caving in as it fell.
He swung at the others the same, dropping them down. He yelled at each one, a violent, anger driven yell.
The last was a blonde Walker, rather fresh. He took down the legs watching it crumple in a ball. He gave a loud yell as he smashed it's head again and again with full anger.
The head was mush beneath him, blonde hair in strands as he yelled louder and louder into the pile of mush.

Matt stayed down, just then his whole body shook as he heard the man scream. He was scared, but he wasn’t a chicken, part of him wanted to just run and get out, but the other part wanted him to overcome his fear for trusting people, maybe not the best moment for it, but if he could trust a guy that screamed and was followed by walkers, he could probably trust anyone.
Matt peeked over the car and watched him kill every walker, while screaming with every kill he made. The last one was the worst and sounded the loudest. After that it was quiet on the road, no more walker sounds, no more screams, nothing, just silent. Matt could hear his own breath, it was heavy, from the panic. He decided to try and be brave and speak up, while keeping cover behind the car, so he was safe. He tightened the grip on his gun. “H…Helow!” he yelled hesitating with the first sound that left his mouth. “I mean you no harm, just want to talk, i‘m alone searching for a group.” He added. “Just want to know if you are ok, what you just did seemed like you need someone to talk to!”

When his yell went I out he just kneeled above the walker. His chest heaved and he breathed deeply, filled with anger. He was angry at Becky, the walkers, the world. There was nothing he could change about in of it, life just sucked. That's how it was now, just sucking.
He brought his fist to the mushed up zombie's face. He yelled again this time adding words. "Why the fuck did you have to do this. We were going so good. Perfect. You had to go fucking it all up, changing. I thought I knew you. Why did you have...to...do...this," he yelled at the pile of zombie mush in font of him.
He turned at the sound of someone talking. Immediatly his gun came yo aiming at the man who spoke. Slowly Thad rose to his feet his towering presence glooming over the man. Thad was small by no stature. He jus glared straight ahead, trully and intimidating presence.
"Don't move," he said calmly, "on the ground. Knees. Hands behind your head."
Post by Matthew Ackles on Dec 3, 2015 14:12:52 GMT -5
Matt chuckled as the man told him to get on the ground. He was in no position to chuckle or laugh, but it was more because he was getting nervous, but also a bit funny because he was only sitting. “I do want to put my hands on my head, but how do I know you won’t kill me right away.” He asked staying behind the car, not showing himself. Matt knew if he stayed behind the cart he had the upper hand, there was no way the man could get a clear shot.
“Would you be up, for both throwing our gun to somewhere in the middle?” Matt asked calmly. He was surprised how the man his tone changed, he just had been yelling but seemed pretty calm now. “After that we can talk, like normal civilized people.” He added.

Thad kept his gun trained on that car. He stepped closer to it, finger on the trigger. He let out his breath slowlt, concentrating on the car and the voice behind the car.
"Are you alone," Thad said his voice calm, but also a growl, "you said you're looking for a group? You lost? No one has past here, no group either." He held his breath looking at the car.
Circling around he came to the trunk. He moved around his gun still aimed. "Flat on the ground, hands on your head. I will shoot if you try anything."
He glared down at the man, clearly no intention on dropping the gun. He glared again. As the man spoke about how did he know Tha wouldn't kill him he just shook his head.

Matt already felt this had been one of his worst ideas, that guy was probably going to kill him. What was he thinking? Yes he was paranoid and he had trust issues, but for once he let go, it got him in this crappy situation. He shook his head and felt how the sweat dripped from his nose. “Yes I’m alone.” He replied as he heard the guy getting closer. “Not lost, my last group was separated, but I didn’t knew them too well, I searched for them, didn’t find them and I can’t be alone in this sick world.” He said answering the guy his second question.
Matt saw how the guy was suddenly in front of him with the gun and asked him to go flat on the ground. Matt dropped his weapon and raised his hands, the only thing he still had was his wrist weapon. “Look, just kill me if that is your intention, I’m just looking for company, no bad intentions.” He replied. “But there is no way I’m going to lay down in the pile of blood I just made, by killing those walkers.” He added.
Post by Thaddeus Walker on Jan 2, 2016 21:53:17 GMT -5
Thad saw the man dropped the gun and kicked it away. He still had his gunned aimed, face serious. His eyes were hidden by his darkens sunglasses as he looked the man up and down. He said he was alone, and he believed him.
"I'm not going to kill you," he said calmly, "but get on the ground. It will go better if you do what I say. Amy trouble and I may change my mind."
He stepped back. "Youre alone. Unarmed, so don't do anything stupid." He tightened his grip. "You said you lost your group, that you don't want to be alone. I'm part of a group. If you answer a few simple questions I can take you to them. We are military, or were. We don't want trouble either."
Post by Matthew Ackles on Jan 3, 2016 19:02:45 GMT -5
Matt let out a barely hearable sigh of relief, when the man said he wasn’t going to kill him. He nodded as the guy said it would be easier if he just did what he asked. He sort of crawled to a spot without blood and got even lower to the ground like the dude asked.
He shook his head. “I’m not planning to do anything stupid, like I said I have no bad intentions.” What the stranger then said was like music to Matt his ears. He had a group and if he answered a couple question, Matt got to meet them. He didn’t like strangers and it would take time to adapt, but at least he wouldn’t be alone anymore. Another plus was that they used to be military, so Matt could only guess, they could protect each other and knew their ways around guns. He nodded once more. “Feel free to ask the questions.” He replied.
Post by Thaddeus Walker on Jan 3, 2016 21:10:25 GMT -5
Thadd kept his gun aimed on the man as he crawled to the spot without blood. He was low enough, any movement would take to long. Thad was a good shot at close range. He could take him out before the man could even flinch. Thad sighed and listened to him. He had scared this man, he could smell the fear.
"Let's start with your name, what is it," he asked calmly, "and where are you from." Thad moved around, leaning against the car beside them. Though both hands were on his gun, aimed at him.
"What did you do before it all went to shit, what was your job? Ever convicted of any crimes, past records. You don't look like trouble, but it's hard to tell."
Then Thad got low, his voice quieter. "How many people have you killed, and why." He looked down at the man. "What about walkers, talk rough numbers. Just assessing your skills. Last question, what's your goal in all this, the end of the world."
Post by Matthew Ackles on Jan 3, 2016 23:29:33 GMT -5
Matt heard the voice of the man taking a different tone, calmer, much more friendly. “My name is Matt, well actually Matthew, what is yours, if I may ask?” Matt replied to the guy his question. “And I’m from California, Los Angeles.” He added. Then Matt cleared his throat, it was a little dry, but he would have to wait until this guy let him grab his backpack, so he could drink. “Of course I traveled a lot since.” He said softly.
Then Matt got a flashback of his live before the apocalypse, because the man asked what his job was before the word went to hell. “I was a waiter.” As Matt said that, he knew how useless it sounded. “But I’m trained in a variety of melee combat and some fighting styles with knives.” He told the guy, adding a pinch of enthusiasm in his tone. “You see the special weapons around my wrist, it was designed for me and I learned how to fight with it, an old friend taught me.” He added.
Then it was time for the next question. “No I was never convicted, I wouldn’t hurt people, unless it's self-defense.” He said in an honest tone. “Of course time has changed.” He said sort of disappointed. Then the guy asked him how many people he killed. Matt his eyes got big, he was a bit startled by the question. “Euhm.” He said before pausing. “I didn’t kill any people.” He said. But his mood changed as he was reminded about how many people he lost, instead of helping them many times he just ran off, mostly because he didn’t knew them well enough to go back and search. He got even more sad as he was reminded how he never find his parents or sister, the first group changed is mind, told him to not look for them and he followed them, that was stupid. So if leaving people behind counted as killing, he wasn’t fully honest. “If you count leaving people, then it’s not zero though.” He said in a sad tone. “But let me add, that I checked back once every time, I just didn’t search, because I never got to spend long enough to get attached.” He added. For now he decided not to tell the whole parents story, that had to wait.
Then he asked about walkers. “Wow, that has to be a lot, every single one that crossed my path, I rarely leave them alive.” He said. “It’s been so long, it has to be over hundred, but I didn’t keep count.” He added. “They have to die, for every single one that walks, someone feels pain, the pain of losing a loved one, or even feels nothing at all, if he or she is the one that turned.” Matt spoke. “So I kill them, let them rest.” He added. Then he sighed as the man asked about his goal. “Well, I would say, rebuild the world, try to fix it.” Matt told him. “But the main goal actually is surviving, while making new bonds with people, just to make sure, people never forget how to care for each other.” He added. Matt then waited for the guy his reaction, it seemed he was out of questions.
Post by Thaddeus Walker on Jan 4, 2016 4:37:31 GMT -5
The guy seemed weak. He seemed like a pushover, someone who would give in easy. Between what he had showed by submitting easily, and his sing song answer of hope, and not hurting others. Part of what he said pissed Thadd off. He would never hurt anyone, only in self defence. He hadn't killed anyone. Who hadn't killed anyone in all this? It was killed or be killed, and Thadd didn't believe him.
Thad just glared. Matt was the typical California, head in the clouds dreamer, he could tell by the way he acted. And Matt was reckless. He killed every walker he came across. That meant he took risks, unessissrsy risks. That was something the farm couldn't handle, not now.
"I'm Thadd," he said gruffly, "I don't want to here you Bragg. I don't give a shit about your weapon. I don't believe you haven't hurt anyone. With raided, bandits. Were you not attacked? It's bullshit." He glared. "And you killed everyone? No one kills everyone. It's stupid, to many risks. They are creatures, nothing more. They aren't people anymore. You don't feel sorry for them."
Post by Matthew Ackles on Jan 4, 2016 14:02:38 GMT -5
Matt finally learned the man his name, Thadd. Then Matt once more was surprised by his answers, he told Matt, he didn’t like people who bragged. Then he added he didn’t gave a shit about his weapon and that he didn’t believe him, about not hurting anyone.
Matt got a stern look on his face and turned around so he could face Thadd. “Look I’m not bragging, I just wanted you to know I can take care of myself and just wanted to show my weapon, no need to be a bitch about it.” He replied. Matt knew he was in no position to have a big mouth, but he wasn’t going to let the stranger insult him. “when you asked the question, about hurting people, I told you the fucking truth, it said only in self-defense and yes I hurt a couple people to defend myself, but I thought you would have guessed I did, since I said I would defend myself when needed.” He added trying to calm himself. “You can’t survive, if you don’t defend yourself, against raiders and bandits.” He said.
“And it’s not because I killed all of them I took risks, I always think before I act, so I’m always prepared.” He said looking at Thadd. “And I don’t care if you think my dream is stupid, that is why it’s a dream and glad we agree on surviving.” He said. Then he tried to keep himself in control and to stay calm, yes Matt was a very soft person and panic in combination with distrust mostly got the best of him, but if he strongly disagreed he would speak up.

Thadd glared as the man called him a bitch. Today was not the day to piss Thadd off. The man picked the wrong thing to say after what just happened. Thadd threw down his gun. The kid had a mouth on him, ran it to much. Thadd stepped over to him, he was going to hurt him. Veins were bulging, nostrils flaring. He would snap this scrawny punks neck like it was nothing.
He towered over him about to reach out for him when his body stopped. He couldn't go forward. He couldn't hurt him. Matt had called him names, minor insults. After what he just said, he deserved it. He couldn't hurt anyone, that's who he was. So instead Thadd just offered a hand to help him up.
"I wish I could say the same," He said calmly, "I had to kill people. People who attacked my group, me. I had to kill them, numerous times. I don't wish I did, it was self defence. I would take it back if I could. But I can't. I killed those people, and have to live with that. I wish it was just hurting them."
He sighed, "but the walker situation is dangerous. You join with us, you run. There comes to many, you don't fight. Don't kill them all. There's to many lives on the farm. You're never prepared, there's always something to catch you off guard. Don't ever think you're fully prepared."
He looked away, "and we won't rebuild civilization. It's gone from what we new. People now kill to survive, kill what once had been family and friends. I don't think it will ever be the way that it was. But you can have something new, protection, food, walls and s roof over your head. Jobs are now guards, runners, and doctors. No more are there lawyers, accountants, and salesmen. None of that matters. Being a waiter, it doesn't impact you. People haven't forgotten how to care for each other, because they never have."
He looked back at his bike. "Come on. I'll take you to the farm. I can't say you'll join. I'm not a leader there. But if they take my word for you, maybe you'll be okay."

Matt noticed how Thadd his mood took a change for the worse. His big mouth once more brought him in danger, he watched as Thadd threw his gun down and stepped over him. Matt feared the worst, but he was ready to fight. Just as it seemed Thadd was going to grab him, he just offered his hand. Matt sighed in relief, since he was about to defend himself, the knives of his weapon, would have cut through him, like he would have been just butter.
Matt grabbed his hand and got up from the ground and just stood beside him. He listened as Thadd said he had to kill people, and wished he didn’t have. Matt immediately felt sorry for the guy, he gave him a soft shoulder pat. “Hey, it was either you or them, you do what you have to when you protect the people you care for, it also part of surviving.” He said before letting go of his shoulder.
Then he once more explained how dangerous it was to kill all the walkers. Matt nodded. “Every group has their own rules and I’m willing to live by them.” He said. Matt didn’t like the next part, they weren’t rebuilding civilization, but he decided to shake it off, at least he wouldn’t be alone anymore. “Doing either of those jobs sounds good to me, it makes me feel like I’m helping other people.” He replied.
Then Thadd offered him a ride to the farm and he smiled. “That would be great and thanks already for wanting to help.” He then looked at his gun. “Can I grab my gun now, wouldn’t want to leave it.” He said with yet another smile.

"Something that will never change," Thadd said calmly, "death and killing are a part of it. One of the reasons the world will never go back to the way it was. It's what we have become. I had killed one person before, all of this, over seas. To save some civilians they were going to explode. I could barely live with myself then, now, I don't know. I've changed, it's part of who I am, the killing. I killed five the other day saving some of my men. Five lives gone, by my hands."
He paused, "if you like killing the dead so much, you may end up on the wall. We take care of the ones that pile up and take them out as they get to close. We don't like them around, to dangerous." He paused. "I won't decide that though, the leaders will. To tell you the truth, I wasn't coming back. I was going to leave, go my separate way."
He looked back at the bike. "Grab the gun, keep it holstered. You seem like I can trust you, but the world if fucked up now."
Thadd started walking to the bike. He picked it up. Climbing on he looked back. "Get on," he said calmly, watching the sun set, "watch that blade too."
He didn't know if they would make it back before nightfall. He didn't even know the true route to the farm, just roughly. They may have to camp for the night, get to know each other.
"There's a farm house not far from here. We'll have to stop there for the night. My camp is to far to travel to."

Matt listened to how he explained that he had to kill five people. Followed by him telling that Matt would probably get wall duty, he also explained how it works. “You killed those men to protect you own, so if they are dead it’s their own fault.” Matt said softly. “And wall duty sounds good to me, hope the leaders think the same way.” He added with a smile.
Then he heard Thadd was actually leaving before he met Matt. “Any special reason for that, since we are sharing, we might as well tell everything.” He said with a small smile. Then Matt nodded as Thadd told him to get the gun but keep it holstered. “Will do and thanks for the trust.” He said while walking to the gun. He grabbed it and did as Thadd asked, as he turned around he was already on his bike and told Matt to get on, but asked him to watch his weapon. “Sure thing.” Matt said with a little smile. He walked to the bike grabbing his backpack on the way and swinging it on his back.
Matt got on the bike and softly grabbed Thadd his waist with his hands. “Wouldn’t want to fall off.” He spoke. Then he nodded as Thadd spoke about a stop in between. “Sound alright to me.” He said giving smiling a little.

Thadd didn't say anything when Matt spoke about the killing be good again. He didn't disagree, just didn't have anything to add. But he spoke up,after Matt mentioned the wall duty and the leader. "Amber will push for you to be a runner, as you've been out there, experienced it all. She'll see your good character, and guess you can judge it. But Max will want you on the wall, will be up for the two other leader to decide. In event of a tie they'll ask the medic. He'll go for the wall. You'll probably be doing both at some point. This is all if they consider you to stay."
When Matt asked about why he was leaving Thadd just looked away. He didn't say any thing for a long time, just started the bike. "Guilt, broken heart, and a girl," he said not saying anymore. He wouldn't, couldn't. The man was a stranger, this was personal.
He felt the kid climb on and uncomfortably grab him. He would stop quickly.mhe wasn't used to this, it being a guy. It felt weird to him, wrong. He started the bike and took off back down the road. He kept going, turning off onto a dirt road. He went down into a field, heading toward a small farm house.
Post by Matthew Ackles on Jan 9, 2016 19:07:03 GMT -5
As they rode Matt thought about what Thadd just said, a girl named Amber would want him to be a runner and Max would want him on the wall. He would ask him later to tell him more about the jobs and people. For now he couldn’t say anything, the bike was pretty fast and he was pretty sure Thadd wouldn’t hear a word he said, without yelling.
Matt also learned Thadd nearly left out of guild, a broken heart en a girl, he could only figure it was all connected. He then focused back on the road, he felt how Thadd his muscles where tense, Matt only figured, he didn’t like to be touched by guys. He didn’t care though, he wasn’t planning on falling off a bike, besides it was just his waist and he didn’t mean anything by it. Just then Matt noticed they farm house and he knew that meant they nearly reached their destination.
