Colette was sitting in her office chair, pushed back from the desk. Her hand was cradled in her lap. She was doing her best not to cry. This fucking hurt and she brought it on herself. She should have known his head would be fucking hard! That thought caused her to chuckle. She heard the knock and James' voice," come in."
As as he walked In, she just stared at him," alright, talk." Her voice was shakey a bit as she was trying to appear normal through the pain.

Remy walked in behind James hoping that Dan was in tow with her to bring a bit of insight into what was going on outside. She could possibly be way off, but if she wasn't willing to give James over and Acer was not going for any other alternatives, it was quite possible that he was doing exactly what she thought he was. She knocked on the door behind James as he came in looking as if his tail was tucked between his legs.
"Hey, uh, sorry to interrupt, but I think I may know what he..uh..Acer..is doing."
She saw the look Colette shot to her, so she got right to the point of it all.
"Are you familiar with the Vandals? When they sacked Rome? Well, they were a group of Gaelic barbarians that wanted to live under their own rules. They snuck up on Rome, surrounded a stronghold and kept the people of the city hostage. No one came in, no one came out. Anyone that tried was killed. This also meant no supplies could come in, including grain or livestock. The Vandals starved the people into submission."
She looked back to Dan then to James before finally settling her gaze on Colette.
"What if he has us surrounded? Anyone that goes out becomes his property. We can't leave to get food or supplies. He will force your hand that way. It's an age old technique of battle."
James was relieved to hear she was ready to receive him; at last he had the chance to speak with her about the matter he earlier had wanted to mention, which now was all the more important. Cautiously he stepped into the room, knowing she wasn`t exactly pleased with him. Hearing the tremble in her voice, he could tell something was wrong. Before she entered the office he had noticed her bleeding hand, and he could only assume she was hurt badly. She had left with Cade, but returned alone, had they ran into trouble on their way? Had Acer done something? Or was she bitten? He didn`t know, thus he took the moment to ask. “You alright?...”
Then before he could continue, Remy came in with Dan right in her heels. He glanced back at her, wondering what she intended. The two had gotten little chance to speak together as of late, mostly due to work and other important matters, although he had to admit it was nice seeing her beside him again. He listened curiously on what she had to say, when she suggested what she thought she knew of Acer`s plan, believing he had them surrounded like the Vandals had done to Rome. It was a logical theory, but they didn`t know that yet. It could be he had some other intention; perhaps he had captured Samantha for some other purpose?
Once she had finished speaking, and they waited for Colette to answer, he thought about it and decided, taking the chance to say. “Which is why I`m here, I want to offer myself up to Acer.” He humbly suggested and took two more steps closer to Colette, looking straight into her eyes as he reached out his hands with the palms up. “I know many people here blame me for everything that has happened as of late, and many would disagree with your judgement in me staying. They don`t want me here, people believe I deserve to be punished, and if that is what it takes for all this to end, then I`m willing to do it.” He paused and turned to look at Remy. “You took me in after my brother died and I`m grateful for it, hadn`t you been there I too would probably have died, but this has caused problems far worse than we both expected. I killed those men without thinking of the consequences…so, this is what has to be done, I know it, and you know it.” James finished and motioned over to Colette, awaiting her judgement.
Dan followed behind Remy into Collette's office. He felt Collette didn't trust him, that he was still one of Acer's. He felt none of these people did, besides Remy. Even with saving Anthony Dan felt like he still needed to gain their trust.
He let Remy explain her theory. While it did sound like it would work, he didn't see Acer running that way. Acer schemed like that, but he always liked to have interaction. He wouldn't risk harming Collette either, from what he gathered.
"That very well could be," Dan said looking at the people in the room. "If you take in to account that people from the hotel, Collette's group, had come and gone this morning, Cade included. They didn't snatch any of them up. I still think Acer is playing the powers, an exception for me and James. He wants the people who appeared to be in charge, Luca, Dallas, Remy. I'm guesisng Anthony told him about all of your travels, the ones who lead. Jackson probably took note as well. He will also want the ones who wronged him, James and Myself. He will feel we stole something from him and took a blow at his group. If he got these pieces he would probably back off. It's not certain, but I feel that's what he wants."
He paused, "you had just came back in, what did you go to do? Did you speak with him?"
Colette was not pleased when Remy and Dan followed James into her office. She was struggling with the pain in her hand. Was she alright? Hell no, she wasn't alright, but she answered through gritted teeth," no, I'm not alright." She stared at Remy as she spoke and shook her head about to dash her ideas, but Dan spoke up. Colette smirked at him and reached up onto her desk and took a cigarette from the pack sitting there. She lit it and took a deep drag and exhaled before answering them.
" Dan knows Acer about as good as I do. He speaks the truth of the matter. Acer wants James turned over so they can kill him for stealing, but he also wants You, Remy and your man, Luca." She took another drag," shut the door, let's have a drink." She motioned for James to get the glasses over on a table near the door as she pulled out a bottle of whiskey from a desk drawer. She never used her right hand, leaving it sit in her lap." I won't turn you all over to die, so, we are at war. I offered to publicly punish James, but he turned that down. He wants blood. He wants a war, this just an excuse for what was going to happen eventually."
She clears her throat and winced as she leaned forward and placed her hand up on the desk, scooting forward. She flicked her ash into an ashtray," we aren't going to wait, we need to get things movie and hit him now. He took the blonde, I think , because Rollin mistook her for you, Remy. That poor girl, god knows what they will do when they realize she's not you. It will be far worse for her than Anthony." She looked at Dan, knowing he would know the truth in her words.
"Cade left, we disagreed about how to handle this. So I am a man short, I need every man we have armed and ready to fight. I sent Angel to go find someone, hopefully she will return soon." Colette's hand was bruising and she didn't dare move it, but they could all see it." Cade and I fought and I think I've broken my hand." She finished off the smoke and crushed it out, staring at all of them. She didn't pull punches and told the truth," I want to burn that fucking mansion to the ground, tonight!"

Remy felt her blood run cold when she spoke about Acer wanting her and Luca. For what? She couldn't begin to imagine why he would want either of them. She had nothing to offer the man and Luca, well, Luca would fight back. Simon, on the other hand, he may just fit in well with that group. If Acer got his hands on Simon, Simon just may very well convince Luca to join up there. She crossed her arms over her chest as she mulled that thought over knowing what the reprocussions of that would bring. She couldn't let it bother her though. Luca cared about her and he didn't want to be that guy anymore..did he?
"Me and Dan, we can make molotov cocktails. We know the chemistry, but it's going to cost you some of that liquor."
She felt a little odd saying this, but she did know the chemistry behind something far more dangerous too.
"I can make some homemade napalm too. I just need some dish washing detergent and gasoline."
Her face went a little red as she said that. She didn't want anyone to think she was some underground bomb maker. It was just one of those things she knew how to do even if she hadn't done it on a wide scale. Just a little practice and fun with chemistry.
"That Simon guy is a cop too. I think he should stay behind and help. He's not healed enough to be out there fighting, but he can be a good lookout."

Damon had followed and was stood by the door just outside within earshot. He turned and stepped inside slowly knocking the door as he entered in an awkward manner. "Excuse my intrusion here but I just have a request. Sam... The girl they took. Samantha isn't well. She's my responsibility and I'm not happy with our last conversation being it... anyway, Ill cut through the Bullshit and be transparent with you."
He placed his lighter in his pocket "That asshole on the motorcycle... hes loud, hes always out there. Let me go get him... I know what I'm doing out there and hes a threat. I'm not here to undermine anyone but I cant sit here and watch the fort while she is in danger."
Damon brushed his hand through his hair "I get him... I can find out some good information and then serve what your man Clayton would call justice. Simple..."
What James had just suggested became a matter of little importance when Dan told what he knew; he claimed Acer had gotten hold on sensitive information through Anthony and that he was possibly planning to get his hands on those with power to achieve victory. It didn`t matter how much he wanted James and Dan, there was a bigger picture to look at. The very thought was unnerving, although most likely true. And when Colette confirmed the suspicions, there was no doubt in mind.
Colette offered them all a seat to drink with her, and she motioned over to James to close the door and get the glasses on the table nearby. He did what she wanted and as he went to get them, he listened to what else she had to say. When she mentioned she had offered to have James punished, he froze with his back turned at them, how could she suggest such a thing? He wondered, but said nothing of it, knowing it would have been better than to have him killed. Acer however had refused her wishes, wanting an excuse for war. They were now officially enemies, and there was no denying that a fight was coming whether they liked it or not.
Returning with glasses in hand, James placed them on the desk for all to grab, allowing Colette to fill them up. He remained quiet as she continued to speak about Samantha, who no doubt had been mistaken for being Remy. She also mentioned that Cade had left them after she punched him, which had gotten her hand broken. James wanted to come over and look at her hand, but knew the doctor would soon arrive. He knew the fight had to have been difficult for her, the two were close afterall and now it seemed all that had changed. He wanted the best for her, though he had disliked Cade from the beginning.
Turning to look at Remy, he could see how she felt about the situation. It was clear to him she didn`t like the idea of being captured, and nor would he allow that to happen. She then claimed to know how to make Molotov cocktails, as well homemade napalm, which surprised him. He knew what her former profession was, she had once told him that, but not in specific detail, and never had he thought she knew how to make bombs. It certainly would be useful, if Colette allowed it.
Then someone knocked on the door and inside came another person, this time Damon, who had seemed desperate in the bar. He began to tell of Samantha and how she was his responsibility, and that he wanted to get the bastard who took her. Doing such a thing would be risky, even for him. James knew the man wouldn`t be stopped, even if Colette did refuse, he had been in the same situation before, sort of, when his brother was killed. The thought about the motorcycle sound came back to haunt him; it made James wanting to find out, as to why Rollins could possibly have been where Liam had died. “If Damon is going to get this guy, I want to go with him…” He offered, not saying why.
"There's no reasoning with him this time," Dan asked, "you and him always seemed to come to an agreement. I don't know why he would actually want any of them, besides Jame. Unless, like a child, he just wants them because you have them. Anyway this is serious, he won't stop until he gets what he wants. But taking the fight to him, he's to heavily guarded. To many guns, people, you don't stand a chance."
Dan folded his arms, "I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I have told Remy before. We are best to leave, pack up and go. I know this is your home, but out of the city Acer won't follow. You won't have to deal with him again. It's our best option. We can offer supplies for Sam, or rescue her. But then we are all best to leave the city."
He looked at Collette, "what do you mean Cade is gone? He just left? This sounds like something Cade would want, to bring all out war agaisnt them. Is he coming back, do you know? Where did he go off to," Dan asked. Cade had been his closest he had to a friend, besides Remy. He felt like the man had been one of his only protection, the one thing that kept him safe this whole time.
"Let's see you hand," Dan said moving to her side. "The hand is fragile, punching head on, with your knuckles is often how you break it," he said calmly. "About the mansion, there's lots of ways to go at it. I know guard routines, weak points. I doubt Acer has changed them in such little time. There's spotlights, but the gates, Windows, and all doors are closed and locked. We would need heavy firepower to even get the gates open."
"Napalm and Moltaves are good, but I'm thinking something bigger, a bomb. If we have gun powder, or can get some, I can make a sticky bomb. They would help in the process. But if we were to do this, we would need guns as well, snipers, and machine guns. Acer's men. They are all mostly trained, they can fire, and are good at it."
He looked at Damon and James. "Going after one man won't solve anything. Acer is one the you want, not Rollin. Rollin is but a knight in Acer's chess game. He is one of the ones he trusts, but it won't impact Acer as much as you think if he is gone. Getting revenge won't get Sam back. Acer has her, not Rollin."
Clayton stepped into the office, scowling. "I assigned the jobs, and there is, indeed, someone to fulfill each task you so clearly dictated for us at the bar." Clayton didn't often show anger, but he was frustrated with Colette. He'd done exactly as she'd asked, and he'd done it well. He'd assigned lookouts and security. The only people who remained unassigned were James and Anthony, and Anthony was only due to his injuries. Still, there were more pressing issues at hand. Tensions were high with Acer, and Arcade was gone. That was surprising, but Clayton wasn't blown away--Arcade was a hothead, and he'd likely be back after some time to brood.
"I come into your office, Colette, and you're discussing napalm and molotov cocktails with new arrivals and a potential spy? Because you're so eager for revenge?" Clayton raised his arms to show confusion. "What on earth are you thinking, god dammit?!" Clayton seldom yelled--he hadn't raised his voice in, perhaps, a year. "We do not stand a chance against 25 armed men. Luca, Dallas, Simon...Damon. Maybe Aron. The new man, Nolan..." Clayton shook his head in frustration. "We attack tonight, we die tonight."
"No," Clayton pointed to James. "We want peace. This violence is not the solution. Give Acer James in exchange for the woman he had kidnapped--Sam. Tell him that's our final offer. If he refuses, offer him Dan, too. We won't offer Luca and Remy, but James and Dan deserted Acer's. We should allow him his justice--at least against James. We should spare Dan if we can. But if he demands more than James, I have no qualms sacrificing Dan as well."
"There is nothing moral--there is nothing just--about implementing unsustainable policy. There is nothing honorable, nothing noble, about dying for no purpose. I can count our battle-ready individuals on one hand. I would need five to six hands to count Acer's. Colette...think about the plan for which you advocate...think. Give him James, and, if need be, Dan. We must preserve life, and, again, if we attack, we die. And I cannot follow you to my death."
Colette had been listening, and she was not suprised that the chemists had some aces up their sleeves. Her mind was pondering the ideas and coming up with a strategy with the people she had.
She looked at Damon," I know you want Rollin, trust me, I know exactly how you feel, but you are losing sight of the real picture. By now she has been given to Acer, Dan is right, Rollin just played fetch, and now she is in the real danger inside that mansion. Help us take it down and you will get Rollin."
Clayton burst into the room and his tone with her, what he said to her made her stand up." Oh no Clayton! I don't expect you to die with is! I expect you to go and find a fucking hole to hide in, you're good at that!" She snapped at him." Don't give me your bullshit about peace. Acer doesn't want peace, he never has! We all know that, so either help us plan or get the fuck out!"
Post by Remy LaCroix on Nov 22, 2015 12:44:07 GMT -5
Remy didn't like what Clayton was saying at all. He wanted to just hand James and possibly Dan over to Acer where they would certainly die. She knew the man had been stabbed in the melee involving James, but was he so cruel to do that to someone that could potentially be a strong asset to the group? She had to speak up.
"If Dan and James go, so do I." If she left she knew Luca would come too and possibly Simon in tow. But they wouldn't go to the mansion to face death.
"But we wouldn't go to Acer and that would leave you in a worse spot, Clayton. You can't just trade people like assets in hopes for safety. You can't be that cruel, can you?" She furrowed her brow and looked to the man and it seemed like Colette was in no mood for that either. She snapped at him and instead of making this worse, she decided to just remove herself from the situation before an all out brawl started.
It was getting too crowded in her office and instead of having a drink with the rest of them, she decided to back out and go work on putting together the molotov cocktails. Lily would help her pick out the cheapest and most potent bottles and she was hoping maybe she could find a stash of moonshine that sometimes could be found in bars. Colette seemed like the type to have moonshine. Hell, she probably needed some herself right about now.
"You put me down as a runner. Just tell me what you want me to get and I'll get it but I ain't gonna let you sacrifice two guys this world needs."
With that, she turned out of the office and went back out to the common bar area.
Clayton was taken aback. Colette had yelled before. She'd yelled at him before. What concerned Clayton was her inability to see reason. They would all die tonight, every last one. It didn't matter who they did or didn't send over then.
Remy spoke up, and Clayton ground his teeth. Who was this woman to be speaking freely here? She was new to the group, and one of the people Acer had wanted. She was part of the problem, and Clayton said she should be spared. Yet here she was spewing against him. "Cruel, am I? Cruel? I am the only one here trying to keep us alive..." Clayton looked from person to person in the room, altogether unable to understand how any of them could hold their beliefs that attacking was a good idea.
"I will do as I am bid," Clayton walked back to the door while keeping his eyes on Colette. "You are making a terrible mistake. I cannot believe I am saying this, but maybe in this case, Arcade was right."
With that, he turned to leave.

Claira pulled the car right next to her bike. Turning it off, she handed the keys back to Angel. Opening their doors, Claira would say to Victor while he stepped out with his backpack and his rifle. "We will lead you to where Colette is. But be warned now that she isn't in the best of moods because one of Acer's men took one of ours. So try not to anger her anymore then she already is." Victor simply nodded his head. The young scout lead the way to Colette's office. Knocking on the door, Claira would then step in to announce to Colette. "Colette, our guest is here. If you need me, I'll be in my room." Stepping back out, she would look at Angel and say. "Good luck in there. You can feel the tension."Then she left and went to her room on the second floor.
Victor slung his rifle on his two point sling and walked in, staying behind the group of people who's already in discussion. The tension in the room was so high you could cut it with a dull knife with ease. Standing still, he'd wait to be addressed from Colette. Thinking to himself, "Must be rather bad if you can just feel the tension in the air. Maybe I'll give her a small dose of morphine to calm her down and to ease the pain in her wrist." Taking his rifle off and leaning it against a wall. The combat medic would then swing his backpack off and unzip it while placing it on the floor. Taking out his medic bag, he'd slide the backpack over to his rifle. The longer he waited, the likely hood that her hand could possibly get worse. Making his way through, he walked over to Colette on her side of her desk and said. "I'm sorry, but I'll have to treat your hand as soon as possible." Opening his bag, he'd begin to take out the items he'll need. Gauze wrap, an arm sling, an arm splint , the small bottle of morphine and a syringe. Gently taking her right arm with his right hand, Victor took his left hand and gently examined her hand. It was indeed broken. How she was still standing and moving about was a mystery to him. "Before I begin to bandage you up Me. Colette, I'm going to give you a small dose of morphine to ease your pain."
Taking the syringe, he'd put the protection cap over the needle into his mouth and yanked it off easily and shot it into his bag. Grabbing the the morphine, he'd plunge the needle into the cap and withdrew a quarter amount for the needle of morphine into it. "When your ready, I'll begin."

Dan saw Clayton enter the room and was shocked by what the man said. He wanted to give up him and James, give to Acer to make peace. Was he serious? After all Dan risked to rescue someone he didn't know, after all he's done.
"There is no peace with Acer. He'll still want the othes even if you had us over. He if filled with greed, peace is no longer an option. Trust me with this, agreeing to Acer is the last thing you want to do. He will hve the upper hand no matter what deal you try and put in your phony print."
He saw how Collette and Remy both defended him and James. "Thank You ladies," he said looking at them. "Clayton, they are right. You don't want to do this. It won't save you or the people in this bar. That's the bottom line of it."
As Clayton stormed out he said his last few words. "You are wrong. Arcade is a good man, given this option here he fight. He would fight for this group, and die dam well trying. He's a better man than you."

Damon had watched all this bullshit arguing in shock "Clayton wants to deal with a psychopath. Give me one example where that has ever been 'sustainable policy'. Christ if Acer 'deserves his justice on these two stiffs' then you better write in that contract the part where we get to take revenge for Anthony and Samantha. Then when he's drawn it up use it to wipe is arse. At least then he's not wasting paper."
Damon smirked. They have Sam and every hour we wait... they could be doing anything to her. He didn't bare think about deals and such. What peaceful consideration did Acers group ever show them.
He looked down to Collette "Ill wait and be around if you need me. But If I'm made to wait too long, I cant guarantee I will stay 'rational'. When he finds out Sam is of no use to him... I don't bare imagine what he may do to her." He looked upwards a second thinking before regaining his speech.
"I'm no use sat on the roof waiting for them to show up or pick me off while I'm sat in the open. Molotov's and cute bombs... that's not enough. We need a way inside his mansion. He holds the hostage, he holds all the cards. Without a way in or a way to draw them and her out... we cant do shit to them."
Nobody agreed with him. Clayton was truly astounded. Were these people denser than he imagined? First he looked to Dan. "Better man than I? I have done everything in my power to keep this group organized, to keep people working and business as usual. That is not an easy feat. Yet it seems my skills are undervalued." He then turned his attention to Damon. "Acer has shown he can cooperate. We have coexisted for years. If we give him what he wants, we can prolong that existence. Or we can be stubborn and foolish and die." Clayton looked around once more before making his way to the door. On the way out he added, "I'll be in my office. Regardless of the decision made, let me know it."
Angel followed , bringing up the rear as the headed for Colette's office. She heard raised voice and figured things weren't going well. Claira went in first and slipped back out. She mentioned the tension and Angel nodded," Colette has never been an easy person to live with." She followed Victor in. Angel listened and watched Clayton leave." He's just sore he didn't get his way. We know there isn't a choice anymore. Acer isn't the type to play fair forever." She watched Victor move around and get down to business," look, we all have things to do, to get ready,James, maybe you should stay with her." Angel locked eyes on him, letting him know it wasn't a suggestion, he damn well better be here for Colette.
Angel moved towards the door. She saw Damon headed there too," sorry about your girl, but why don't you, me and Dan sit down and figure out the gaps in there defensives? Acer won't expect us til tomorrow at least, so if we strike during the night, we have that on our side." Angel glanced at Colette." He's going to fix you up, don't fight him" and with that she went out. She went looking for men, Simon and Luca and Dallas. She wanted to set up some plans. Colette needed her now and she wasn't going to let her down.
Colette was so pissed off at Clayton she was close to throwing something at him. She stared at him, but heard every word the others said. She wanted him gone, she had told him to get out. What was he still doing here?
Dan actually thanked her. She glanced at him, and then Claira came in. Colette nodded at her as the man walked in followed by Angel. Thank god. At least someone people did what she asked! She looked a bit relieved as Angel spoke and the man came close to tend to her. She barely holding it together. She looked at him as he spoke to her about treating her and morphine. Colette sat down and eyed him." Hold on soldier, before you stick me with anything. What's your name?" She spoke trough gritted teeth. She heard Angel taking to Damon and Dan. Good, she could get them started. Angel told James to stay and Colette glanced at him. She wanted him to stay with her, but never would ask.
She looked back at Victor." Alright, you can start, but not a lot, I need to be focused." She stared at his face and then nodded at those leaving." After me, go help them come up with a plan." The man had left a place of safety and come to help her, help them, and that spoke volumes to her. She was sure Angel had explained the situation to him," we need to move, tonight, we can't wait." Her face was unable to hide the extreme pain any longer as she spoke, but she wanted to know he would help before she let him do anything.
Victor looked at Angel and said the common thanks heard from the French Quarter. "Merci, Angle." As he was about to start, he heard the request for his name and for him to join Angle and the others for planning. "My name is Lieutenant Victor Crowley. Army 7th Calvary, Combat Medic . I was born and raised in the French Quarter. After looking over your hand, You will need the rest to allow your injury to heal. And before you argue, don't bother my dear." Taking an alcohol wipe, he'd rub it on the bend of her arm. Then gently pinching some skin up, he'd push the needle in and slowly injected into her blood stream the morphine. Waiting a while, he waited for her to start feeling a bit off balance. When the morphine started to kick in, Victor grabbed the arm splint and lifted up her arm. Placing the splint under her arm and hand, he unrolled the wrapping. Then started to wrap up her hand first and worked his way down. After he was done that, he would tie off the ends.
Standing up, he slid off the desk the arm sling. Putting her now wrapped arm in through the sling, he would then put the strap of the sling over her neck. A smile came over his face as he put all his items back into his medic bag. "Well Colette, my job in here is done. Get some rest and I'll check up on you in the morning. If you require anything, I'll be outside at the bar." Bowing, Victor retrieved all of his gear and headed for the door. With his Rifle on the two point sling, Victor left to join with the others about their plans to defend or to attack.
