Hazel stopped just before she entered the cabin still furious with Aiden's behaviour, she paused and counted to 10 to help herself to relax. She turned and faced him.
" So explain to me, why you had to fuck up a possible aid to me. My window is tight as it is, I'm hoping to strike first thing in the morning and he could of been a dame bloody help but now he wants to meet your brother for a late breakfast. ie you took it out of my hands. "
Hazel paused thinking out the situation. Her mind raced with the possible out comes of having Aiden along with the mission, she had a right mind to leave them be right and do the job alone. She need to relax as she felt herself becoming frustrated again and so she took out her last last cigarette. After lightning it she spoke.
" So what now ? Cause you seem to have anger issues which I don't need right now."
"Rose..." Jonathon muttered, smiling at the woman that was actually showing him some compassion as opposed to focusing on the radio. "So, what's the plan about that guy? The one on the radio that is...are you all going to go or just him and his angry brother?" Jonathon motioned at the man still on the radio. "If you need me too, I can pull my weight around here...I'll help around the cabin or something. If I need to earn my time here, I will."
After listening to the man on the radio, Santiago thinks for a minute. Okay. Sounds god to me. I'll have a mark up to let you know I'm there and that it's all clear for us to meet. It will be a red flag on the roof top. Big enough for you to see it from a 1000 meters. If you don't see that flag then you'll know somethings wrong and to stay clear of it. Santiago says to the man on the radio. Santiago puts down the mic on the table and starts preparing for the journey to the Portland Hospital and awaits for the man's response.
"Alright, we`ll meet you there." Richard answered, ending the conversation with the man on the radio. As Aurora again mentioned her wish to go the hospital, he turned to her and nodded, having thought the exact same thing. “You`re right, it should make things easier, you`ll be able to look for whatever supplies we need once we go there, though I doubt my brother will join us. He seems determined to go with our new friend.” He said, motioning over to the door, referring to Hazel. Looking at the man who laid on the couch, he pondered whether he would be able to join them and if Sean was ready as well. Heading into the big city wasn`t safe, even though it probably had been depleted by most walkers by now.
“You think you can make it?” Richard asked as he thought about how to go about, thinking the best option would be to leave somebody behind at the cabin, although if they were all heading north anyway then it wasn`t much point of staying behind, and who should watch Sean if Aurora was coming along with him? The poor man couldn`t, he was yet a stranger and was barely able to take care of himself. Glancing back at Aurora, he continued speaking. “What should we do with Sean? You think we should all go?”
As Aiden prepared to take a walk around the premises, he noticed that Hazel stopped by the door, counting to herself. Apparently she was just as upset about the situation as he was, though blamed the delay on him. He could understand why, considering she was close to getting the Crows, but it felt unnecessary. She claimed he had anger issues, which she didn`t need. The very words frustrated him as he didn`t want to admit it, and in response he answered. “I got anger issues? Heck, it’s not my fault my brother is stupid.”
Knowing she wanted a better answer, he tried to calm down and humbly walked over to where she stood smoking. “Look, I know I can be an ass sometimes…at least that`s what other people tell me, but anyway…., I said I was going to help you, and help you I will. Whether my brother wants to leave too Portland or not, to meet this stranger on the radio is up to him, I`m coming with you regardless, I keep my promises.” Aiden said trying to reassure her, feeling drawn closer to her as he couldn`t avoid but to keep staring at her.
(Okay, should we try to wrap this thread up and make our new threads now? One for Aiden, Hazel and the new person Lily and another with Richard, Aurora, Jonathan and Santiago?)
Aurora sat with with the weakened Jonathan who seemed to be getting a little strength back after eating more. With a few more meals, he could probably bounce back, although she didn't know what kind of guy he could be in all this. He managed to survive this long, so he clearly had something going for him. He said he could help and she believed him with an underlying trepidation.
"I'm sure you can help, that's fine. We may need all the help we can get." When Richard was done with the conversation on the radio, he asked about moving them on or leaving Sean behind. She knew immediately what that answer was going to be.
"We can't stay behind, none of us. Sean comes with us. If we leave, it's very likely we may never come back here Richard. And really, if something were to happen, wouldn't you want your son with you? I won't let you have any regrets Richard."
She looked at the others as she stood up, wiping her hands on her jeans as the night was growing long.
"Look, we should all get some rest. Tell the guy on the radio that we'll head out at first light and head to the hospital. Maybe he can start to get some supplies together for us or something."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
