Charles revved the engine as she continued to shoot at the walkers. She looked towards the group that had come out of the Walmart and she saw them kneeling down next to one of the trucks.
"What the hell are they doing?" She couldn't quite see, but she saw a machete being raised up and brought down. Maybe it was a walker under the truck. She heard the screams and she knew something was wrong. Something was really, really wrong. They had to keep leading the walkers away, which Charles was doing. However, he got around back of the store and as they passed by slowly, she dropped the shotgun that was now out of bullets on the ground as she read the big sign in back. The shotgun was just another weight they had to carry and she would much rather find bullets for her gun that was quieter and easier to handle.
Charles spun out his wheels and continued on, only this time, it was totally away from the Walmart. She thought he would circle around again where she would get out and ride with Jake again. However, he kept going. He went one block, then two, then four more.
"Charles! What are you doing? We have to go back!" She was yelling at him over the roar of the Harley engine to get him to slow down, but he wasn't about to budge. She could see a bridge ahead that went over a wide river and she knew once they crossed that bridge, they may not be any turning back. The engine attracted more and more walkers, although they were scattered and few between.
"Charles! Stop!"
