Sam didn't like the way he called her pretty girl. She wanted the floor to open up and swallow him up, but it didn't. He stood and the bench crashed to the floor. Sam jumped at that and felt him yank her up by the arm. She felt the gun against her head. Just kill me, do it and get it over with, stop these games, she screamed in her head as she went up stairs with him.
All the way up to a door, she stared forward as he opened the door. Her eyes scanned the room and slowly, she took it all in. Her body started to tremble, as she saw the horrors inside. This man was sick! She yanked her arm away from him and whirled quickly. Sam shoved him, "You sick , Mother Fucker!" she screamed as she tried to shove past him, "I'm not Remy! I can't give you anyone! I'm not Remy!" she screamed and shoved at him again. Sam was losing it, her hands and arms were wild, striking out at him and anything near her. The whole world swam around her vision, as tears ran from her eyes. She screamed like a banshee, 'Let me go! Get away from me!"
The girl who claimed she wasn't Sam started to go crazy at the sight of the third floor 'holding pen' for the girls he kept up there. He himself never indulged in any of them, but those who had stranger tastes did. The girls weren't exactly kept up with but they were fed and cleaned every once in a while. The walkers were just left there to rot. The scent that came from the room was pretty bad and every once in a while the windows would be opened to air out the room. The two living girls that were chained in there cried softly, 'please help us' to Sam as she started to go crazy.
Acer sighed heavily as Sam cried out and instead of just locking her in the room to let her escape out the window, he managed to get himself behind her and gave her a push towards the edge of the stairs. It wasn't a long fall, ten steps up or so, but as he pushed her, she would tumble down. With any luck, she would only suffer some scrapes and bruises. Worse comes to worse, a broken bone.
"Get a hold of yourself, girl. If I need to put a bullet in your head I will."
Jackson was walking up the stairs when Samantha came crashing down. He'd been laughing to himself about how Acer had the wrong woman, but stopped once she landed in front of him. He looked around to Acer. He didn't want to anger the man, after all. But this was amusing.
As he was about to scope out Colette's place for ways to get Dan, he saw Rollin come in with the blonde woman from the new group--one of them. It wasn't Remy, it was that other girl...Samantha, Sam. Jackson did his best to get all the names during the one night he spent there.
"So, ah, I don't wanna burst you or Rollin's bubble, but that...isn't Remy. That's not their leader, boss man. This is some girl who hangs with the group junkie. Hell, maybe she's a junkie too," Jackson glanced from Acer to the young woman. "Samantha, right? God damn, Rollin is an idiot..."
Sam was taken off guard. He pushed her and she went down the steps. Her hands went down out of instinct to try to catch herself. Pain shot through her left wrist and she heard a cracking sound. She couldn't stop herself and went ass over tin cups down to the next landing. As she laid still, taking stock of her injuries, she heard another voice besides Acer's. He told Acer she was not Remy. Thank god , maybe he would finally believe her now.
She laid there, cradling her wrist and laughed. She was laughing with tears flowing. She groaned and laughed as she used the bannister to get up and face Acer," I told you I wasn't Remy!" She laughed and turned and started walking down the steps. She was going to have bruises for sure, but she took each step, holding her head high," I'm leaving."
"God damn, he certainly is," Acer said as Jackson came up to see what all the commotion was. Sam sat up before standing up, holding her wrist as her face was stained with tears. At least he had a good idea of what Remy would look like when he was going to snatch her up and bring her here. Certainly Colette and her people would have heard about this by now.
As she started to walk away, he shook his head. "Not so fast, pretty girl." He took a few steps down and thought she needed to be taught a bit of a lesson before she was sent back. "Jackson, you should go stop her." He looked over his shoulder towards the top floor where there was an office space in the attic.
"Zachary! Get down here! I have someone for you to meet and you have one hour!"
One hour. That's the nazi had with this girl before he would make Rollin take her back to Colette's. He made the mistake so he would have to face the consequences. Maybe Colette would force him to apologize.
Arden was led back to the mansion by the hunter that had gone out looking for Remy. The gate was left open as they came in. One of the guards, who smoked the weed that Regan had brought was just standing there and totally forgot to put that lock back into place.
"Come on then." Dallas was a lot rougher looking then he pictured him to look like and as he came in the front door, the blonde was coming down the stairs and Acer was at the top.
"Hey Acer! I found Dallas for you." He had no idea Jackson had seen Dallas and knew this man wasn't the negotiator they were looking for. Looking at the blonde with the bad wrist, he put two and two together. No woman came willingly here unless they were a woman like Ivy, and this woman didn't seem like that type.
Arden followed the hunter in. He wasn't surprised the gates weren't even locked, that they could just open them up. He saw the guards, the Compund. They were armed, and better off. He wondered how he would manage to get out of things went bad. There were to many to take down himself. He wondered if he could just escape out the back, or if the fence went all the way around.
Arden came in, and saw the blonde on the stairs. That sure wasn't Remy, he didn't know who that was, she was pretty though. He saw a few other people, wondering how much of them actually knew Remy. He was starting to get suspicious of all this. He saw the old man behind the blonde, they guy looked like a major asshole.
"Yeah, you Acer," Arden asked, "now where the hell is Remy? You in charge here? Where the fuck you sent Remy off to?"
The Hunter asked if they found Remy, and Arden looked at him. "That ain't fucking Remy. Does anyone know where she is?"
“Oh yes…this can work, it has to, yes!” Zachary spoke to himself as he worked on his latest experiment; he was operating on a living dead person strapped to his operation table, doing surgery on the brain. His goal was to understand the virus better and to figure out how one could possibly control the dead, if he could manage that, then everything would change. Acer could become a powerful man without equal, as it also would increase his chances to become famous. It was nothing more he wanted, he loved his work and if it could turn him into recognized as someone great, it would be worth it, it would be worth everything.
Focused on the matter at hand he carefully reached for the scalpel with the intention to cut the brain, but then all of sudden when Acer called out to him, he flinched in surprise and in the moment slipped the instrument deep into its brain, ending its pity life. “GAAAAH!” He screamed in frustration. “Always when I am this close…ah, oh well, alright, alright, I`m coming!” Zachary answered Acer shouting back as he wrapping up everything he had been working on, becoming excited to hear he had one hour. It could only mean one thing, Acer had found him a pet, a pet for him to play with, how thoughtful, this was going to be fun. He grinned and stepped out of his room, only to witness the scene right in front of him.
Down the set of stairs laid a woman, a woman obviously hurt from falling, which he could only assume was the person he was to meet. “You called? Ah, yes…a new subject.” He said excited and almost skipped down the stairs, rubbing his hands. “Oh, she`s a pretty one, but I`m sure I can make her prettier. I shall not disappoint, my work will do wonders, I promise you.” He answered Acer with a malicious smile on his face, reaching out to touch the chin of the woman, knowing the two would spend a great time together.
Then he grabbed her by the hair and lifted her to stand, pushing her forward to walk back upstairs where he had intended to put her. If he was going to do things to her, he needed room, and certainly his tools. Once upstairs they went into his office, which often was used for things like this. By the wall stood an empty chair, to where he led her to sit. With great strength he restrained her by strapping her arms and feet, turning his gaze back up to her eyes he said. “Now, now, don`t be scared, you`ll thank me after this.”
Acer grabbed Zachary by the arm as he lifted Sam and started to drag her back upstairs. In a firm, low voice he spoke. Zachary would know he meant business and he knew he had to make himself very clear to the psychopath.
"One hour. You leave her face and limbs in tact. If we take her back mutilated, I will give you directly to Colette to get her revenge, got it?"
He turned back towards the door as the hunter came in with a guy who he claimed was Dallas. He came down the stairs, approaching Arden as he spoke about Remy.
"We've been looking for her. One of my guys thought that girl was her, but he had a vague description of a blonde that looks the same as her. You're Dallas? I'm glad you came. I wanted to talk to you about some potential terms that Colette refuses to meet."
He had no idea that Arden wasn't the man he said he was and would have no idea what he was talking about. The only familiar thing to him was Remy and she was caught up in this twisted mess of a battle.
"All I want is James. Dan would be a plus, but James. Can you make that happen?"
Arden watched the doctor looking crazy guy haul the blonde, who wasn't Remy, out be her hair. He didn't know what would happen to her, but honestly didn't care. Unless she could help him, he didn't need her. Right now this old guy was his problem.
"So Remy ain't here either," Arden said looking the man up and down, "where the fuck is she d'hen. The like little prick with the gun said she was 'ere. So where is she," Arden asked glaring at the Hunter. He spat as talked and looked around the room. His gun was in his hands, and he waved it around as he spoke.
The old man listed off names and what he wanted. All them, Colllette, Dan, and James, they were obviously people Dallas knew. But Arden didn't know who those people were. They were just names. "You leave Remy alone and I'll bring you who ever the fuck you want. James, Dan, Doug, Bob, anyone. Just tell me where Remy is and don't do not'in' to 'er."
Arden folded his arms. "You agree to these and I'll bring you the people."
Sam screamed as the man yanked her back by her hair. She jerked forward ," get the fuck off me!" This man, he looked worse than the first and he was taking her back upstairs. " NO! DON'T!" Sam screamed and fought against the man.
The men that just came in, she heard names said . Dallas, Remy. She glanced at Arden," I know, I know!" She struggled," Help me, Please!" She was terrified to get shut in somewhere with this man. She gripped the doorframe, trying to keep Zachary from getting her inside.
Acer heard the man he believed to be Dallas speak. He wasn't so sure this was the man as by the way Anthony described him, he didn't seem so..rough. Was this guy truly a negotiator? What he offered next caught his attention. Maybe he was after all. When Sam screamed out, he raised a brow and thought for a moment.
"Zachary, wait! Bring her back down!" He was a demand, not a request. Zach would have no choice. Maybe he would give Remy to him if she didn't cooperate regardless of what this man wanted.
"Alright. You bring me those people and I'll leave Remy alone. I was going to try to get her to do the same thing anyways, but you'll work."
When Rollin showed up at his urging to take Sam back, Acer could see he was nervous even though he wore a mask. He would have Rollin take the both of them back and bring James back, duct taped and tied up.
"Rollin, take a car and bring these two back to Colette's place. Wait outside until Dallas here delivers James. He's the one I want the most. We can go back for the others, but I want James back in my possession."
When Zach brought Sam back down, begrudgingly, he touched a finger to Sam's jaw and purred in her ear.
"You got lucky this time, princess." He looked at Zach and smiled. "I'll make it up to you, I promise. James is all yours when he gets back."
He turned and went back up the stairs to wait for Ivy's return.
"So that it. I bring you these guys and you won't touch Remy. I can live with that, plus I get some side candy." He looked at Sam, studying her. If she knew where Remy was that's all he needed her for. He took her by the arm, pulling her away from the man. "So I guess we'll be going then."
He looked at the biker as he came up. The guy wanted to take them all back. "Hello no, I ain't riding bitch to some two bit biker. We'll go back on our own. I don't need a babysitter. You'll get yer men, I promise that. But the biker can sit his ass down."
"I can't just bring out the guy while you're outside, there'll be people there, people who will try and stop me." He was just guessing, he knew at least three others were there, and Collette could easily be the one stopping based on the names. "I'll bring the James guy out back, in the alley. You can wait there. Don't want your helmet scratched and all that."
He looked at Acer, still holding Sam tightly by the arm. "Now if that's all I'll best be going. Away from this shithole. Where'd you send Remy to anyway? Mr mask and gun over there said Remy was part of your group. So where did you send her on y'all run."
Cade had set up shot across the way. He had waited, watching people come in and out, in and out. Only eight guards, not enough to take notice. He wanted to wait till sundown, just a little longer. But as he heard gunshots in the distant he knew he had to strike now, or never.
Pulling up his bow he cocked an arrow. He drew the string back, against his cheek. There were twelve arrows, four special ones, eight normal. He would be ready.
His target was the guard on the roof, one of the two. He aimed high, releasing the arrow. It sailed up and over,'coming down taking the guard right in the chest. The guard fell, rolling off the roof to one of the unmanned sides.
He aimed at the other, again high. The air flew from the bow. It took the guard in the neck, blood spraying as the guard dropped to his knees, collapsing on the roof. He drew back another arrow, ready again.
Moving down to the second floor he saw the second floor guards. They were playing cards, not watching. His eyes scanned the other in the courtyard. Two guard blazing up, out of it. Another was to far away, to hidden. The third, he walked around the corner, cade assumed to take a piss.
Cade took out the arrow replacing it with the special one. It had a Rag, covered in fuel. He moved his lighter toward it, lighting the arrow on fire. Pulling the string back again he let it go. It sailed toward the window on the second floor, smashing through the glass. He saw the flames ignite inside, knowing that what ever was in there would soon catch.
Cade fire two more fire arrows, one in the third floor, another the main level. All went through the window, hoping the fire would spread.
He readied the last special arrow and looked down at the guards. His eyes went to the garage, where a mechanic was working on a jeep. It had the hood up. He saw gas canisters, wet on the floor. Releasing the arrow he saw the floor catch. The mechanic went up in flames, screaming, yelling. The garage caught fire, the flames going further because of the gas. He saw them going to the car, watching it slowly catch. It would explode, or so he hoped. Sadly that only happened in the movies.
Cade looked at the six arrows left. He readied another it was for Acer. The moment the man ran outside he would strike.
The woman was a struggle to get inside, but once he got her strapped in the chair he was ready to begin. This was going to be fun; he thought and began to examine her carefully. Thinking about how to proceed, he moved over to his workspace and traced his fingers along all his instruments and tools, choosing to begin with something simple, the scalpel which he favored the most. Now, he didn`t want her to be subdued during all of this, no, he wanted her to have the full experience, as a lesson for crossing Acer. Stepping in front of her, he leaned in close, but with far enough distance so she couldn`t reach him. “Shhh, don`t be scared…this won`t take long, Acer only gave me an hour…although, an hour is all I need.” He said and pressed the scalpel against her cheek without cutting her, making her feel the cold steel. “You got something I need, please be quiet.”
Then as he was about to begin Acer called out to him again, this time he wanted him to bring her back down. “WHAT! But I was just getting started!” He spoke in frustration, getting mad at Acer for not letting him have his fun. “Very well then…” Zachary gritted his teeth and threw the scalpel back onto the table, turning to loosen the straps so she could be free to move. Again he grabbed her hair, and together they headed back.
Reluctantly handing her over to Acer, Zachary remained idle in case he was needed. Unfortunately the girl was being allowed to leave, what was this?! Had Acer gone soft? He wondered and felt sad for being left with nothing. He was promised another, the man called James, but he doubted that would ever happen. James was a tough man and hard to get, he had proved that the day he escaped. When Samantha left, Zachary retired back to his office, cursing to himself on the way up.

Sam just knew she was going to die, as she was strapped down. Her eyes stared at this crazy man. By looking around the room, she had no doubt the new world had truly driven him mad. He wanted her to stop struggling. That was not going to happen. She was already in so much pain with her wrist, she knew she couldn't bare much more, but she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of her giving up.
She pulled her head back , away from his face as he gently introduced his favored weapon. Dear god, what was he planning to do to her? Acer's voice. He wanted her back! A small reprieve! She didn't dare show him her relief, and fought his grip on her hair.
Passed off? She was getting given to the fake Dallas? Once he gripped her arm, her feeling of thankfulness vanished at the way her snatched her arm and held on to her.
An odd thump was heard outside, but that wouldn't be too unusual. If rats were getting into something or if an old tree limb fell down it wouldn't be unusual to hear such a sound. Acer allowed Arden to take Sam, with Rollin as the escort having no idea there was already an ambush underway outside.
Another muffled thump on the roof still didn't concern him too much. The guard on the roof may have just mis-stepped or possibly stepped through a roofing tile. The house was old after all and it wouldn't surprise him if the roof was starting to give a bit. They could reinforce it before the springtime showers. What did concern him though was the tinkle of broke glass upstairs before another came through the main floor window catching the old drapes on fire. Seconds later, the screaming was heard outside as he saw one of his guards running towards the front gates with his entire body on fire. A loud explosion was heard as gasoline spread to other cars and oils.
They were under attack and the smell of smoke started to fill the house.
"Everyone out! Get to your cars! Get your weapons!"
He waved his hand as he motioned for everyone to leave. The fire was starting to spread quickly as he moved upstairs to awaken the night shift of guards and get them out of bed. He saw smoke coming from under the door of one of the bedrooms and when he started to go to the third floor, he heard the screams of two girls upstairs. A flaming arrow had gone right into the room, through the open window and caught the old furniture and bedding on fire. The girls and walkers were chained down and by the time he would have a chance to unlock them, they would all be dead.
They would be left behind to burn to death.
He moved through the old house as things started to catch fire. Books, papers, spilled alcohol, all spreading through the house far more rapidly then he expected. Shots were fired as they tried to pinpoint where the arrows came from and under his breath, he growled..."Arcade."
He walked through the house as the angry flames flared his temper further. Car engines started to roar to life as the stoned guards at the gates were taken by surprise. They were opened and the sign with the broken S at the top was shadowed by the growing flames. It read "SEE HELL" which seemed appropriate.
Acer got into a passenger side of one of the cars, armed now with a handgun and assault rifle and they drove to the front of the gates. It looks like his safe house was brought down by a few arrows. Now it was time for Colette to pay.
"Now we fight!" He sat at window of the car, looking back to his people. "She burned our house, now we burn hers. No one lives! Kill them all!"
Leaving Arden and Sam behind, Rollin got on his motorcycle and whipped past Acer's car, taking to the streets to get to Colette's house first and start to take aim while Acer spoke.
Arden heard the Thud on the roof and looked up. When a second one fell he stepped back. Something wasn't right, it just didn't fit right with him. He smelt smoke, from where though? An arrow hit glass and he saw the curtains erupt in flames.
Then all hell broke loose. People ran, screamed. Someone was on fire. He saw the fire going further up, the room catching fire. That old man, he shouted orders to get to their cars. People ran, carrying guns. The all left, the biker pushing past him to lead the charge.
The fire was spreading, quicker than he expected. Arden pulled Sam out after the old man. He pushed her along till they were all clear. As he released her hand from his grip he saw te fire in the garage. It hit a propane tank, erupting and exploding beside the cars. The car went next setting off. A chain reaction.
Arden reacted, knocking Sam to the ground shielding her from any flames that came. He didn't want her hurt, not if she knew where Remy was. As he picked himself up he saw only a few guards. Some were dead, most gone. Some sat confused or wounded. Arden dusted himself off as he looked for his shotgun. He had dropped it somewhere along the way.
"Get away from the buildin' quick," he said pushing past the fence into the street. He looked at her, whiping his hand on his pant legs. "That hotel, where they goin'," he asked, spitting on the ground. "You said you knew, you know where Remy is?" He stepped closer to her. "Better tell me now you hear. Where is she. She in that place they goin' to? She in danger?"
Sam was confused. She'd gone from the frying pan into the fire, literally. She was drug along moving for the exit, but she didn't fight him. She wanted out of this building. She wasn't stupid.
She was flung to the ground and a crushing weight landed on her. Sam screamed, not from fear, from pain. He was laying on her putting pressure on her arm and wrist. She bucked and drew her knees up, trying to get out from under him. She just wanted to run, to get the hell away from all these crazy people! She wanted Damon!
Arden grabbed her and was practically screaming questions at her. Sam nodded," the hotel, Remy is there with Colette and the others, Damon!" She glanced around wildly. Damon was in trouble! They were going after then! She stared at Arden, they don't have enough people to fight all of them! She saw scattered members of Acer's group moving about," we won't get there in time!"
Gabe looked far and wide for the girl they named 'Remy', but unfortunately, he couldn't find her. He felt there were too many distractions while he was on the job with all these creatures and mental humans going around. Still, Gabe didn't have the girl and had to go back and tell Acer, it wasn't the best of first impression, but Gabe knew he was a charmer, he somehow find a way to make it not as bad as it seemed. Maybe Acer wouldn't even be that mad at him, maybe they already found her, he'd have to get back and see.
Gabe got closer and closer to the manor where his new friends had made base. As he approached the gate, he coughed to clear his throat as he would have to call for someone to open the god damned gate. He approached it and gave it a shake to make some noise. "Hello? I'm back guys, can someone open the gate?" he said in an impatient voice. He stood by the gate and awaited for it to be opened.
