"No you did the right thing. I would have done the exact same had I been in your shoes," Max said nodding, "you did good. We don't need fights here, not with every thing else going on. Sarah had the right to tell Thad, it was going to blow up sooner or later. Where isThad by the way? He take off on the bike? Thad can handle himself, but he shouldn't have gone alone."
Max looked at Abby and Brian as they spoke. "Fine she can stay, but I want her watched. I doubt she'll be this stupid again, not anytime soon. Sometimes you just have to beat it into them." He nodded. "She would die out there anyway. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone again she can stay, I see no harm in it. Just be careful."
He looked at Amber, "what did you guys find? I wasn't exoecting you back so soon," he said waiting for a reply. "Everything went okay?"
He felt Abby touch his arm and looked down to her. "Let me guess, you want me to help you with the wheat? All right Allstar, let's go."
Bethany walked up as Amber went to the Becky and Brian asking about what happened. The girl had been kicked out of the house, but why? She was Thad's girlfriend and that was kind of the only thing she knew. Thad told her they hadn't been intimate due to one reason or another, but clearly something had gone terribly wrong. Did they have a bad fight of some sort? She listened to the conversation and as Abby and Max came out, she furrowed her brow.
"What did she do to Thad?" Not that it was really any of her business, but she considered Thad a friend. He was kind of the only friend she had here. The people here were nice and accomodating, but she as still trying to feel her way around the personalities.
It was clear the girl attacked Sarah, which was uncalled for, but why such a violent reaction? What could she have possibly told Thad that would provoke a physical attack?
Post by Amber Wilkinson on Nov 21, 2015 21:40:23 GMT -5
Amber looked at Abby. "That's not like her," she said calmly, "Becky has never been violent like that. Her father was, all the time, but not her. She was neer rational, and ran her mouth, but never violent. I'm surprised she even did it."
Amber shook her head. "Sarah should have told him the moment he arrived. Becky too. I kept pushing her to tell him, but she would just change the subject. If I hadn't thought Becky should have been the one I would have done it myself. Thad is a good man, he deserves better. But Becky and him were good together, the ideal couple even. It was just a drunken mistake, look at Pete."
Amber and Max moved Becky to the porch, the girl was out of it still, crying. "You did a real number to her Abby. She'll have a blak eye, bruises, and swollen lip. It may even be spilt. There's also a big gash on her cheek. She should avoid the house, and Sarah, but she's not leaving the farm. I won't let that happen. Max, if she goes, I go, you don't want that."
Amber leaned back as Bethany spoke. She had forgotten not many people knew, it was limited to Kira, Brian, Sam, Louis, and the main leaders. Everyone else didn't even know. The people who arrived with Thad didn't even know Charles.
"Becky, she cheated on Thad, six or so months ago. It was while he was gone, when contact dropped. She cheated on him with a man Sarah was with. It was a drunken act, fuelled by not getting anything in a long time. I think Becky came on to him, but I only got a few details. The news came to air before you arrived, but only by a few members. Sarah wanted to leave, but Max convinced Charles to leave instead. It was an act of betrayal, and it had to be done. Sarah couldn't stand to look at him, an it was him or her. Ultimately he probabaly could come back, I think sarah could work it out, they would not see eye to eye but would live on. Charles, the man's name is gone, and i hope he is fine where ever he is. We don't like to bring him up, as it was a big blow to farm, him having been one of the leaders."
Abby looked at Amber," I don't want her to leave, I just want her to calm her ass down and act like an adult ." She was being honest. She knew Becky wouldn't last on her own. She did t want her to die, she just didn't want her to take her frustrations out on Sarah. Abby glanced at Max, then Brian." I really did t mean to hurt her that bad, but she was wild, wait til you see Sarah, not to mention the fact that Sarah was kept in that junk yard and now she's acting like we just saved her from that place again." She moved towards the door," I hope Louis found Jay, maybe that will help her, if not, Brian, we may want to give her something for her nerves." She opened the door and headed back inside.
She stopped in the hallway and waited for Max. When he came in, she threw her arms around him and hugged him," I'm sorry, I am, but she made me so mad." She murmured against his chest," come look at Sarah and see for yourself." Abby took him by the hand and led him into the kitchen.
Sarah was sitting in a kitchen chair with Margaret holding the bridge of her nose, with Sarah leaned forward," her nose started bleeding , so we are trying to get that taken care of." Sarah looked like hell. Her eye was gonna be black and blue and was already swelling. She had a bloody nose and her lip was split. Sarah glanced at them as they walked in and Margaret explained."Louis hasn't come back with the boy, but maybe he shouldn't see her like this." Abby glanced at Max," will you go and help find him, explain what happened before he sees her."

"What do you mean she's acting like we just saved her? After that she just went all strict, was no none sense. What are you trying to say," Max asked looking at her, "she had lost faith, you still think it's gone?" Max paused as Abby spoke. "Only thing Brian can give her is a shot, we don't need him, wiskey will work fine, maybe cure the other thing too."
He followed Abby inside and felt her hug him. Max pulled her close. "It's okay. I would have done the same, or worse. You did good Abby, I'm proud of you." He kissed her forehead as she took his hand. Following her into the kitchen he looke at Sarah.
"Alright, so doesn't look that bad. Can someone run down to the freezer. There should be two wrapped packages of meat, wrapped up, bring them up. One for her eye, take down the swelling, the other for her neck to stop the bleeding. Nose may be broken, but it doesn't look like it. As for her lip I can't fix that, just make it stop bleeding."
He paused, "no different then after a scrap. Can't tell you how many times I fixed these exact wounds on my brother. Poor bastard faught more then anything." He leaned against the counter. "I don't know where Jay is, someone else can look for him."
---------
Louis had left the kitchen. He walked along the farm, knowing Jay had to be nearby. He didn't see him in the crowd that had gathered, but knew the kids wouldn't go out of the walls. He walked until he saw him Jay, alone.
"Hey Jay," Louis said, with his usual smile. "You may want to come into the kitchen. Sarah asked for you."

Abby didn't like how Sarah looked, but Max thought she didn't look that bad. Abby moved over to help while Margaret went and got the frozen things Max said . She didn't like how Sarah just stared off. She motioned to Sarah and mouthed at Max( this is what I mean) she pointed at Sarah with her free hand( see). Sarah sat motionless, staring at her lap. She didn't really even acknowledge Abby touching her.
When Margaret came back, Abby pulled Max back in the hall," see, how she is just staring, after Becky attacked and I got her off, she drug herself to a corner and just sat there. I'm worried. She is just starting to be herself, I don't want this to set her back." She looked up at Max, then smirked," you're right though, Becky looks much worse." Abby frowned for a moment and looked down at her ring," I think it cut her when I punched her." She did feel bad, she had t wa Ted to hurt the woman that bad. She looked at Max," I am gonna blame it on horemones. "

Max unwrapped one package of meet when Abby brought it up. He had Margret put it out on her eye. It was raw, deer Max and Cory had killed while hunting one day. But it would take the swelling down, an old trick used my many. "Just don't eat it," he said with a smirk.
He placed the other on the back of her neck. It was a trick an old lady taught him. He was six at the time, his brother just had gotten beat up for running his mouth. The lady had lived in the trailer next door, she drank a lot. But when Max stole a baggy of ice from her cooler she told him what to do. It had stopped the bleeding, somehow it did.
He looked at Abby as she spoke about Sarah. She was right that she was in bad shape. She wasn't even coherent with what they were saying. Max snapped his fingers in front of her face. "Sarah, Sarah," he said to her, "say something."
He looked at Abby. "Could be a concussion." He didn't want her back like this, not now. She had just came out of that state. He didn't know what set it off, but it happened.
"Sarah, hey. It's allright. Everything's okay. You need to say something, talk to us. Does your nose feel broken?"
Beth shook her head when she heard what all the drama was. "Cheated on Thad? Wow, you people are crazy."
She put her gun back in the holster and moved up next to Amber. "That's a shame. Thad's a good looking guy too. But really, he should get over it. So should Becky. What's done is done." She looked at Becky and offered a half smile. "At least you were able to get that load off your shoulders. Where is Thad? I'll go talk to him."
She looked around and up to the watch tower. He wasn't up there as she could clearly see someone else. She looked to the ground and saw a divet made by tires. It looked like an angry peel out of a motorcycle, considering she only saw the marks of two tires.

"Have a little heart Bethany," Amber said looking at Becky. "He would have just found out about it today. He didn't know, she wouldn't tell him. We tried to get her to, but it didn't happen. Sarah told him, and im guessing this happened right after. He probably tried to talke to her, and Becky acted like Becky. Childish, immature, stuck up. But he knew that going into her. He probably go angry, and then she got angry."
Amber looked down, "deep down I don't blame her. We all have this pent up rage now, hanging over us. Sooner or later we all snap. I did after Pete died, I was lucky enough to have Raiders to take down. Thad is probably off killing the dead, letting out steam. They'll get over it, but give it more than a few hours okay. Emotions don't just turn off and on."
"Ambet is right," Brian said from the porch where he was helping stop any bleeding of Becky's. "Thad left on the bike. He tore off with just a gun, so he's not gone for good. He'll be fine, he can take care of himself. I trust Thad not to do anything stupid."
Sarah heard them talking about her. She hadn't completely lost it, she was just processing everything. Her eyes stared at Max, almost as if she were looking through him. He wanted her to say something. What was there to say? She had gotten her ass handed to her by that girl? The meat on her face hurt, but the one on the back of her neck actually felt good.
One good eye focused on him as he asked her if her nose felt broke ," no." She took the bloody rag away from it for him to look at it," just sore, not enough pain for it to be broke." She spoke slowly as she seemed to struggle to find her words. Well, that and swallow the blood running down her throat. Felt like gobs of it. Made her feel sick.

"Abby can you get something for her to drink," Max asked as he examined her nose. It didn't look broken, but until the swelling went down he wouldn't be sure at all. "You're lucky she didn't hurt you that bad." He had, had worse done to him. Max placed the rag back. "If it makes you feel better Becky is easily worse for wear. Should have seen what abby did to her cheek."
He smirked at her. "Thad though, he stormed out on his bike. He'll be fine, but when he gets back I'd like for you to talk to him. He'll need someone, someone who knows what's he's going through. You were there with Charles. Talk to him." He looked away as Abby came back with something for her to drink.
Max handed the glass to Sarah, "drink," he said, the rag still under her nose.
"Abby, maybe go see how Briannis outside. See if the crowd is still gathered. I think Sarah's nose is almost done, that's good." He got Margret to hold the rag again. "When it's done maybe you want to rest, move to the couch or the cot in the medbay."
Bethany shrugged. She wasn't close with these people, certainly not like Thad did. She thought there were worse things in the world and Thad quite possibly made a bigger deal out of his girlfriend cheating in a drunken moment then what was necessary.
"Well, hopefully he'll be okay. If he's not back in a few hours, I'll go find him. The rest of you need to stay here and lick all these open wounds." She started to go back inside the house upset about the run and the fact they didn't really get anything.
She passed Sarah who had a piece of meat on her face and would probably sting for the next few days. She went into the kitchen where she found a half eaten bag of peanuts sitting on the counter. There was really nothing left for her to contribute to the conversation about the entire cheating scandal. She was pretty sure if she did contribute more to the conversation, it may just piss other people off. However, she didn't want to seem like too much of a cold-hearted bitch and she heard Max offer the conversation to Sarah. She popped a few peanuts in her mouth and stood at the doorway.
"Look, if it's too soon for you Sarah, I can talk to him. See where his head is at when he gets back."

Jay blinked and looked up and Louis before standing. "Alright, thanks for telling me." He puts his sword and sheath on his back and walked over to the house. He couldn't help but wonder if anything big had happened inside. He was gone for a while so who knows. He walked inside and into the kitchen before looking at Sarah and his mouth dropped open.
"Shit mom, what happened?!" He walked over and knelt down, checking her face.
Sarah sat and listened , she sipped the glass Max handed her abd watched Abby go to check on Brian, like he asked. Max wanted her to talk to Thad when he came back. Part of her wanted to, and part worried that it might make things worse for him to see how Becky behaved. The female that came with Thad, Bethany, Brittany, Sarah couldn't think of her name. She offered to talk to him if she wasn't up to it. Sarah sat silent for a little while, then spoke softly," No, I will do it. This is my fault, so it should be me."
Jay burst in and cursed and came to Sarah. She pulled the meat off her eye," Don't curse, Jay." She frowned at him," I'm fine, Becky and I had a disagreement, that's all, I'm alright." She sat the glass down and looked at Max," I'm alright, really." Her voice was low and a bit timid, but she seemed sure of herself.
Her hand reached out and lifted Jays chin to look at her," looks worse than it is. We wanted you to help with grinding the wheat." She looked at Max," still got work to do." She stood up, a bit unsteady for a moment, then glanced at Margaret," ready when you are."
Post by Jay Richardson on Nov 26, 2015 21:51:42 GMT -5
"Well, if ya say so." Jay frowned, not even really believing her before she lifted his chin. He listened about his help with grinding the wheat and he nodded. "Sure, I can help with that, just show me how I can help." He hummed before standing to his full short height, ready to help in anyways he can. He watched as she stood up before looking at the others.

Max was glad Sarah took the drink she didn't seem that bad to him, he didn't know what Abby was talking about. Taking the meat away from her eye he still saw how purple it was. Max tucked it back and smiled. "Just a little bit longer." He didn't know if that was true, but was better to give them hope.
He watched Bethany come in, af then Jay. Bethant said something followed by Sarah.
"Hey it's not your fault. If anything it's Becky's. She's the one that cheated on him, set this all in motion. You were just the messenger, she shot the messenger. But you should still talk to him. You know what he's going through. I just hope he isn't going down the wrong path out there. Could end bad."
Max looked around listening to Jay and Sarah talk back and forth. Sarah said she was okay, max only slightly believed it. She seemed fine to him, but her wording was off. Distant like Abby had said. It was her, just slightly distant.
"Maybe you should just take a break. Let someone else grind. Mayve just sit an help run tasks. I'm sure you could easily supervise with Margret. I mean can you even see out that eye, it's pretty swollen." He smiled and moved along. "As for the nose, it stopped bleeding. So that's good."
Max removed the wrpapped frozen meat and slowly took of the other one. It was about as much as the swelling would go down, would have to do. He wrapped up the chunk ther had been on her face and handed it to Kira to take back down. He then smirled at them all. "If everything's fine in here I'm going to go see what Abby is doing."
Bethany shrugged as she finished off the handful of peanuts, checking her gun to make sure she still had a few bullets left. Before she went off on her own patrol, she would grab a few more bullets to re-load and hit the fence line.
"Alright. I'm going to go hit the fence and do some patrols. If I see Thad, I'll send him your way." She smiled a bit and headed off to find the bullets. Once she was loaded up, she went back outside and saw Becky still sitting out there.
"You should apologize. With outbursts like that, you can't be trusted in a real emergency." And she meant every word she spoke to Becky. She started to head down the stairs and towards the road where she would stay within the fence. She would stop and check the fences to make sure everything was still sturdy and if there were any weak spots, she would report them back to Sarah.
Abby wasn't sure about leaving Sarah. She hesitated a moment, she didn't think Sarah being alone was a good idea. When Jay came in and she saw how Sarah responded to him, it made her feel a bit better. She left the kitchen and went back to the front door. She looked out and didn't really see people standing around and staring.
She pushed ope. The door and stepped out, finding Brian still on the porch," everything ok, Max wanted me to check and see if you needed anything out here. He thinks Sarah may have a slight concussion , but she's talking to Jay, and wants to get to work on the wheat, so I guess that's a good sign." Abby would feel better if Brian checked her out though. She trusted Max, but a second opinion could t hurt.
Brian was holding a damp cloth to Becky's head. He was trying to clean up any blood, make it presentable. Becky was practically unconscious, not saying anything just sitting there.
He watched Abby come out and nodded to her. It was good they were taking care of Sarah, he couldn't be in two places at once.
"Are her eyes focussed? Or does she seem to not be present with us? Staring off into space? Empty? Just don't let her sleep, I doubt she has one, but it could be possible."
He looked down at Becky, removing the cloth. The young blond had a big black eye, a lump in her forehead and a swollen lip. There was also a cut on her cheek, besides that she was fine.
"Well you're good to go. I suggest avoiding the house for now. Get some rest, it will be okay," Brian said watching Becky get up off the porch and head to the barn. He looked st Abby.
"You did quite the number on her. She'll be fine, mostly cosmetic. Nothing was broken, so that is a plus," he said with a smile, "This event couldn't have been avoided, it just blew up. Let's just be glad no one was seriously hurt."
He stood, moving on his crutches. "Let's go check on Sarah." He stopped. "Are you okay though? You hand doesn't hurt, everything is fine?"
When Briannsaid she could go Becky stood up. She moved across the yard the grass pushing down as she walked. Her arms were around her body, holding herself tight. She stared straight ahead not looking back. Her body was rigid, starlight as she walked. She was walking quicker than normal, tears still present on her cheeks. She didn't know if those were from the pain, or from how Thad reacted.
She entered the barn, moving to her cot she sat down in it. Thad's was across the way, any items he had neatly placed on it. She glared and stood up. She couldn't sit here, be near it. She could hear the others on the other side of the tarp making the tiny rooms. Becky let out a small scream standing up off her cot.
She marched out of the barn around back. No one was ever back there, she could be alone. Dropping down on her knees she leaned against the fence that circled the back. Putting her head in her hands she felt the tears falling. Reaching around back of her belt she grabbed the gun. She held it in her hand resting it in her lap. She cried harder.
Without Thad she had nothing. All her life, never a relationship lasting more than a month. Her and her father had travelled lots, never any in one place long. Thad was the first person she had ever been with long term. And she had to fuck all that up.
