Mia was just glad they all seemed to be getting on the same page. Her shoulder was paining her some and she rolled it again," I can agree with that. Right now, I say we take whichever ones have the most gas, siphon from the one that doesn't and get moving." Sitting here on the side of the road bothered her. She kept glancing around. If it was easy for Dannie to roll up on them, anyone could and they might not be friendly. She glanced at Nate," we're burning daylight and I don't like being so out in the open like this." She moved to help roll up his map," let's get moving, let to this town and find someplace to settle in for the night." She glanced at Dannie and Jake," why don't you two ride together and me and Nate, two , male , female teams?"
She hated the fact she may be the one giving up her patrol car. It was on its last legs though and without the regular maintenance the fleet of patrol cars got it was hard to keep the car up to pace. It was more difficult then the others and she had only a quarter tank of gas left from all the driving around she had to do. She hummed and hawed about it and paced a bit back and forth as Nate came up with a new plan, one to head north.
"I agree on getting supplies here." She was looking down at the ground as they spoke about consolidating the cars and a long silence came from her.
"That's fine, we can leave my patrol car. It's almost out of gas, but I want to take my riot gear and weapons."
She wasn't sure if the riot gear would come in handy as it really hadn't yet, but she was certain it would eventually. She liked the thought about going to Canada though. It was nice and cold up there and it seemed like Nate already had a plan on where to go.
"I think Canada is a good idea. I'll go up there and Mia's right. We need to go. I haven't seen many people, but the ones I have seemed sketchy at best. I'll ride with whoever wants me to ride with them. I saw a big Walmart a few miles up the road. We could get stuff in there."
"Okay we'll take Jake's car and the truck, that work for everyone," he asked just making sure. Seemed everyone thought it was okay. "Let's get all the supplies Dannie has into the truck or jake's car, no point abandoning them." He paused, "if someone can syphine gas then I suggest doing it. There canisters in the truck. We will need it all we can."
He went over to the patrol car an opened the door. He hoped Dannie could syphine gas, if not he knew roughly how. "Keep everything you have, riot gear, and all supplies. It will come in handy. Jake and Mia can figure that out, Dannie and I can get the gas." He grabbed one of the more empty canisters and set it beside the patrol cars gas tank. He then grabbed a small rubber hose to suck it up and into the canister.
"The Walmart sounds like a better idea. Will most likely be picked clean, but so will the town. We can hit both if we don't find anything at the Walmart. The town is close by too." He was glad that Dannie agreed Canada would be a good place to go, Mia seemed on board too. It was only up to Jake now. He was out voted unless someone changed there mind. They didn't need a final decision till after they got supplies."

For some time now Charles had been following the police car without being detected. From where he had been earlier, it had drawn his attention immediately, as it was rare to see someone driving a Chicago vehicle so far south. Whether it belonged to somebody who lived there or if it was stolen was not a major issue for him, but what did matter was the supplies it possibly carried, which could be easily stolen if timed correctly. With the world gone to shit, it was now all about surviving afterall and surviving was what Charles knew best. It had been his way of life, even before the outbreak, but this was a whole another level of shit.
Seeing the car parking up ahead on the road, Charles decided to stop his motorcycle and turn of the engine, hiding behind a bush not far from the scene. From there he watched intently and listened, yet made sure he remained out of sight. Now there were more of them, which made his plans a lot more difficult. If he was to succeed in stealing their stuff, he had to be smart about it. The weapons he had were not suited for long distance, except for his gun that had some range, and even though he could take them out one by one by sneaking up to them, it was a risky plan. No, he thought to himself, let`s be upfront.
With that, he turned on the engine and drove ahead, meeting them face to face. His machete was attached to his leg, his gun behind his back and the pocket knife somewhere hid in the hood of his steering wheel. The shotgun laid on the back of the bike, attached so it didn`t fall off. With a small grin he watched the people in front of him making their move, wearing sun glasses so that they didn`t know where he turned his gaze. While reducing the speed of his vehicle, he spoke out loud for all of them to hear; “Greetings friends! Nice to see you fellow survivors on the road, especially with all the dead roaming about.”With that said, he waited for a response, not yet noticing who exactly was with them, only knowing they were four and two of each gender.

Dannie was unloading supplies from the patrol car that was going to be left behind including a shot gun, rounds of ammo, her tactical clothing and riot gear. She had a few packs of supplies like water and prepacked food, but that was running low and the backpacks were pretty light as she put them in the back of the truck. She heard the rumbling of a motorcycle engine and thought quite a bit of that. She had been going in circles in this little town and hadn't seen but a few people here and there and none of them were on a motorcycle. She stopped what she was doing, having thrown the last backpack in the truck and agreed to the terms of the move. They would stop for supplies on their way north.
She heard a friendly enough greeting and when she stepped out from between the cars, but that's when she saw the familiar swagger beneath the sunglasses. She knew that bike, she knew that look and most of all, she knew that patch.
"Holy shit." She placed her hand on her hip, the side with the holster and her gun as she looked to the biker. She knew him and she was certain he would recognize her.
"Of all the people that could have survived I should have known you'd be one of them."
She stepped up from behind Nate so he could see her clear as day. She wasn't in uniform which, perhaps, made her look different. He would have normally seen her in her street blues with her hair pulled back and a little makeup on. She may have been a cop, but she still enjoyed looking like a lady. Sometimes it helped. It certainly did when it came to dealing with this thug.

As Charles took a closer look at those stepping in front of him, he was shocked to see a familiar face in all of this. Never had he expected that the cop who so many times before, the one who had caught him red-handed in crimes on the streets of Chicago was alive and well, and not only that, she was still the beauty he once knew. In awe of her presence, and in response to her words, he smiled as he took of his sun glasses. “Well, well, isn’t that a pleasant surprise.”
For a short moment he turned to look at the others, before looking back at her. “Of course I survived sweetheart, that’s what I do, always have been.” He continued, even though surprised he was, almost not believing his own eyes. In this world, she was the only remaining piece of his past life that was left, which kinda made her special. However it also created a huge risk of blowing his friendly cover, because she knew him and knew very well about all the things he had done for the sake of his club, and himself.
If she told the others he was a criminal before the apocalypse, then he doubted they would ever trust him. What should he do next, was the thought that ran through his mind. Should he continue playing and see how it went, or should he act now before it was too late. He decided to play along, but remained vigilant.
“You are far away from home, what you doing here of all places?” He wondered, but didn`t really care why, cause he had heard their conversation earlier. “You guys needing any assistance? You look like you`ve been through hell.” He joked sincerely, moving his gaze back and forth between them.

Jake nodded as Mia spoke. “Yes it’s not safe standing here like this.” He said in a slightly worried tone. “And I’m ok with those teams.” He said with a smile. Then he listened to Dannie who seemed a bit unsure of leaving her car, but didn’t make a problem out of it, she also sort of agreed to the teams. “Show some enthusiasm, I’m glad we can have some time to talk in the car.” Jake said with a smile as he looked at Dannie. He was happy that Dannie found them, after all he knew Dannie the longest of them all, Dannie and he met at the cabin, right before they had been taken prisoner. Jake remembered it all too well, but it didn’t took long before his mind was back with Veran and all the friends they lost. He shook his head to banish those ark thoughts and listened to Nate.
“Alright let’s go to it Mia.” He said with a smile. Jake was pretty sure he could handle the supplies, besides he had no clue on how to siphon gas. Before he started with the supplies, he had to reply on how he thought about the plans. “Yeah Walmart is a good idea and I like the backup plan of the town, I also agree on Canada.” Jake said as he looked at Nate, then Dannie and ended with Mia.
After that he could see Dannie getting to her car to grab some supplies. “Let me help.” He said as he walked over. “After all I was tasked with it.” He said with a smile. As he walked over he could hear the sound of a motorcycle. Immediately his self-defense system kicked in and he grabbed his gun. Jake heard how the guy on the bike greeted them. He want to ask a bunch of questions, but Dannie beat him to it though but it seemed like she knew him. That was Jake his cue to lower his gun, he didn’t put it away yet. Jake listened as they talked and only replied when the guy said they looked like they went to hell. “Oh not only been there, we visited a couple times actually, not so funny anymore now, so I still prefer Disneyland.” Jake joked back. Then he finally holstered his gun. “The name is Jake.” He said as he walked closer and offered the stranger his hand. He decided not to reply on the question if they needed help, he couldn’t speak for the group, so he didn’t.
Dannie crossed her arms over her chest as Charlie, aka inmate number 201213789, at last booking, spoke. Jake approached and a handshake and introduction. She had no idea if she should introduce him to everyone or just let it take a natural course. Things were different now. They were no longer playing a game of cops and robbers. There were only two sides to the fence, living and dead and that's all that seemed to matter. The side of the living was questionable though as the varying degrees of morals played out every where she went. At this moment she knew her morals were higher than Charlie's.
"First of all, let's get one thing straight. I'm not your sweetheart. So you can put that back in the bag."
She made direct eye contact with him as she said that before lowering her gaze to his bike. She was evaluating what kinds of supplies he had with him. Honestly, she knew he would probably be useful to the group. He was a good shot and although he had never done time for murder, she and the rest of the force he knew was behind a number of them back in Chicago. Joliet prison had a cell with his name on it. His lawyers made sure that cell remained empty.
"Second, you have some questions to answer before we answer you. Where's all your buddies? How did you make it down here?"
She didn't want to tell him that she had been here before when she was a kid, which was why they were all here in the first place. She thought the mountains were safe, but it seemed like the swarms from Atlanta had finally made their way out.

Charles noticed Jake`s quick reaction to grab for his gun, and he listened to the joke he made about Disneyland, which he found somewhat funny. Surprised he became though, when Jake decided to holster his gun away and reach out to greet him. It was a gesture he had not expected from strangers, did the guy want to die? Did he not realize the situation? If Charles wanted to, he could grab the man and hold him hostage. By the look of him, he even seemed emotionally drained from all the things that had happened, an easy target for sure.
With his gaze turned at Jake for a short moment, looking him straight in the eyes, Charles chose to do nothing about his friendly behavior. Instead, he simply ignored it and when Dannie replied in a more sincere tone about him calling her sweetheart, he looked straight back at her.
“Easy there, miss Dannie.” He answered with a grin on his face. “I`ve been traveling like you have, and as for my comrades…well, let’s say, they are still out there somewhere, doing their thing.” Charles did not want to reveal too much, in case he could bluff about them being somewhere close, perhaps even watching them, if need be. The engine of his motorcycle was still going, causing a racket, attracting anyone nearby. “You can trust me, I`m not here to cause trouble, I`m just glad to see someone still alive, especially you.” He spoke to Dannie charmingly, trying to gain her trust.
Mia was listening to everyone talking about Walmart and who was gonna ride with who. She heard the bike and listed her head. She watched as Dannie took the lead after the male on the bike stopped. It was clear they knew each other.
Mia watched Jake lower his gun and introduce himself. She could have slapped him. This man was trouble. She'd seen his type come into the emergency room enough to know that. Dannie was talking about friends, this man must be apart of a gang. Mia didn't like, not one bit. Nate hadn't said anything yet. She moved around him and leaned back against him, hoping he would see the gun in the rear waist of her jeans. Dannie had a gun , but Mia didn't trust it." You know this man, from your time as a cop?" Mia figured she had run ins with this man and his crew. God only knew what he was like now that law and order didn't mean shot anymore.
Mia stared at the man, really getting a good look at him. He was hiding. He kept sunglasses on and she could t see his eyes. You can tell a lot about a person by their eyes. Mia had watched many eyes over her career as a nurse. People couldn't hide everything, the eyes always told you something.
Everyone agreed, he was shocked. He expected Jake to go agaisnt them, and to want to keep looking. He hoped that after the small trip for supplies they would be on the same page still. One could never be to sure. Either way Nate had made up his mind. He was going to Canada, with or without Jake and Dannie. If mia wanted to stay he ultimately would, he wouldn't loose her.
As he was helping move the stuff and supplies he heard the engine of a bike. He looked up, placing his hand firmly on his axe. As the guy spoke he studied him. The guy seemed like trouble, he was hiding his eyes and was acting way to casual to meeting new people. As he spoke it seemed him and Dannie once knew each other. Nate figured a drunk she pulled over, or some petty thief. Most likely he was a biker, not to uncommon, and not all were bad.
As everyone spoke he remained quiet. Jake introduced himself, being really forward, a stupid move but it was made. He felt Mia go behind him and kept his eyes on the man. The axe still sat in his hand, ready to swing if he had to.
"Mind turning that off," Nate said pointing to the bike with the axe. It was loud, running. Walkers were the last thing they needed. He couldn't even hear himself think over it. As he eyes the man he looked around at the others. "Unless you plan on riding out of here. If so, get the fuck going." He looked at the others again. "Dannie, how do you know him? He some scumbag you pick up off the streets?"
Nate moved to the side he had enough of it. They needed to get going. They couldn't waste anymore time. He pointed with his axe at the man. "Either leave, or start talking. I don't want any bullshit."

Jake noticed how the man refused to shake his hand, he didn’t like that attitude at all. The positive side was that Jake reminded himself to not trust strangers so easily, it’s not because Dannie knew him from somewhere he was ok. How could he be so stupid, probably because of the recent events of losing so many friends, he needed time to process it all.
Jake gave him a dirty look and lowered his hand, resting it on his holstered gun. Refusing to shake his hand, sort of woke him up and his defense was back online. He listened as Dannie talked, telling him not to call her sweetheart and asking him about his friends. The guy replied telling her his friends where somewhere out there and that he didn’t want trouble. ‘Little late for that jackass’ Jake thought. He then heard Mia asking where Dannie met this weirdo. “Yeah what Mia asked.” Jake said in a stern tone.
Then Nate his protective side took over, as he talked to the man and Dannie. “He is right, answer or get out.” Jake said stern. His attitude towards the man turned like 360 degrees, the refusing a handshake made sure Jake was being his old self.

Dannie knew none of them would be terribly happy about this, especially when they were getting ready to head out for a supply run. She looked over her shoulder to the three of them and pondered her answer for quite some time. She probably took too long to come up with this answer. When Charlie said he was happy to see her, she rolled her eyes at him and turned back to Mia and Nate.
"Yea, I knew him back in Chicago. Arrested him a couple of times. Small world we live in now."
She turned slightly back to Charles as she looked down the road past him. Either their talking or the motorcycle seemed to attract a few walkers. She watched them stumble but they were still a distance away.
"We should take him with us. He's a good shot."
She turned back to him though and got a bit closer to him. She was close enough to reach out and touch him and with gentle fingers, she tugged at the sunglasses, pulling them down to make sure she had eye contact with him.
"He won't cause any trouble. Will he..." It was more of a statement then a question as she said that knowing she would have to keep a close eye on him. As far as she knew, he could have been scoping them out for a group of raiders or bandits and honestly, it wouldn't surprise her if he joined up with a group like that. If it meant his own survival, she was certain he would do what it takes to make that happen, above all else.

Looking across at Dannie, Charles noticed Mia move around and toward Nate, which made him alert of possible danger. In his eye corner, he saw the axe in Nate`s hand, ready to swing, as if his weapon was faster than Charles`s gun. Amused by it all, Nate suddenly demanded Charles to turn off the engine and pointed with the axe.
Charles`s facial expression turned serious, not liking the tone of Nate`s voice nor him pointing. Instead of doing what he demanded, Charles simply glared back. And as the others then began to ask Dannie who he was and how she knew him, he slowly took the opportunity to move his one arm down beside his one leg on the opposite side where most of them stood, such that they couldn`t see what he was doing. Not far from his reach was his shotgun, and his pistol remained in the back of his pants as a second option. Within seconds he could surprise them.
Waiting for Dannie`s answer, Charles looked over at Mia who stared. Giving her a slight smile, then lowed his sunglasses for a moment and gave her a wink, trying to get her attention. When he heard Dannie`s response to the others, it became clear to them that she have had dealings with him previously in Chicago, even arrested him on a few occasions. How that would affect their perception of him was a question, but luckily for him, he knew things about her as well.
With the sound of the engine still thundering throughout the landscape, the walkers kept creeping up. All of the sudden Nate went to the side, having had enough, wanting to move on. He turned again toward Charles, wishing him to be clear or leave, no more bullshit. Before Charles could answer, Dannie interrupted and asked the others to bring him along, which was surprising, did she really trust him that much? Was it only because he was a good shot? Or was there something else?...
Dannie moved over to Charles and reached out, tugging his sunglasses, looking him straight in the eye. Her presence was just as enticing as before, and he was glad to see her, however it was unexpected and it caught him slightly off guard. She asked him to behave and not try anything foolish, he was flattered.
"Alright, no more bullshit." He said and gave a sigh, looking back at the others. In one quick move, Charles grabbed his gun and with four consistent shots he blew the head of all approaching Walkers, one by one they plummeted to the ground. Once he was done, he aimed at Nate who pointed with the axe again. "First off, you lower your weapon." If he had wanted to he could have pulled the trigger, but Charles choose not too and took his aim off Nate as he continued speaking. "My name is Charles, but friends call me Charlie. And as I said earlier, I don`t want any trouble. If I wanted too I could have attacked you all a long time ago, but I haven`t. If you need help, I can assist. Let me prove myself to you, let me join you?" He spoke sincere, but wasn`t sure whether he would keep his word, at least not yet. If opportunity presented itself, he could later jump of the bandwagon and go about as he pleased, although so far Dannie had somewhat softened him a little.

Mid was on edge, she didn't like any of these. She saw the stragling group of walkers and knew they needed to move, and soon. Her eyes never left the new man, Charlie, Dannie called him. He had lowered his sunglasses and gave her a wink, just before Dannie walked over and made him meet her eyes.
Dannie's words of him behaving sounded like some kind of a threat to Mia. Nope. She wasn't liking this one damn bit. Her gut was in knots, this man was dangerous. Every fiber of her being was screaming at her not to trust him. Even with that wink, he had the gaze of a predator.
Mia saw him move, and reacted. Dannie had a gun, Jake had put his away, and now she pulled hers from her back. Dale had taught her a little and she didn't think she could miss at this distance. Charlie was telling them how it was going to be, really? He didn't want trouble, yet he still held them basically at gun point. He told Nate to lower his axe. Mia had dealt with all kinds of shit in the hospital, and was trying to figure out the best way to deal with him. He was an alpha and the only way was to make him back down, to seem stronger, or crazier than him. Alright fine.
Mia lowered her aim and fired, at his foot. The one closest to her. She wasn't trying to hit him, just the sand next to it. " Everyone needs to just shut the fuck up!" She glanced around," we need to get off the side of the road, we are attracting too much attention." She stared at Dannie," you want him, fine , but he's your responsibility, I won't have my throat slit in my fucking sleep!" Mia lowered her gun and got in the truck, slamming the door.
Inside the truck, she clutched her hands together to keep them from shaking. Her whole body felt like it was trembling, and she was doing her best to keep it together. She was fucking scared! She had never done something like that before. The gun say in her lap and she stared at it.
Jakes sudden change of character, Dannie admitting she knew the was a criminal and wen arrested him a few times, and Charlie winking at Mia and his cocky attitude were all not fairing well for the biker. It was pissing Nate off, what did the guy even want with them, was he really that desperate for attention. He wouldn't turn off the bike, the sound no doubt drawing trouble near. Nate wasn't trying to be an ass about it, he just didn't want the group endangered.
As Dannie approached the biker Nate saw Jake's hand go to his gun. He watched the biker move his hand down to his side, just watching and eyeing him. Dannie said they should bring the biker along and Nate just shook his head. Was she serious, after he refused to cooperate. The guy still stunk of trouble and his attitude was not helping.
Then the biker pulled his gun, and fired four shots. Nate had half the nerve to just swing his axe when the man was distracted. He could swing fast and strong. Nate was strong, and knew how to wield and axe. But he didn't, he let the man speak. What the biker said almost made Nate laugh. He didn't want trouble yet he held them at gun point. It was bear lake over again, empty threats and promises.
Nate didn't lower the axe, calling the man's bluff. What could he do anyway, a bullet was faster than he was. Nate just kept his gaze on him. Watching the biker. Had the man not seems Jake or Dannie's gun. Both could be out just as fast.
Then a shot came from behind them. Nate knew it was Mia and flinched when it happened. He didn't see where it hit but knew it was towards the biker. He heard her speak and agreed to everything. They needed to get off the road, the bike was to loud and the gun shots wouldn't help. He also agreed it should be Dannie's problem, she vouched for him.
When Mia stormed off Nate looked to Dannie. "She's right. You want this asshole to join He's on you. He wats to threaten the group, endanger us, and he's gone. I won't have an exceptions or questions. The asshole will not risk the groups life for his stupidity. I don't want anymore shooting, blood shed, or anymore mexican fucking standoffs. I had enough of the at bear lake. The empty threats and idiots with a gun."
He looked at the Biker, glaring at him. "Now you, I dot know if your Neanderthal junkie brain can comprehend or not, but don't fuck with the group. If you do I will kill you. You will be gone before anyone says twice." He judged the man's reaction, how he was handling it. If he made any move at all Nate would swing the axe. He didn't give a shit about the outcome, the biker had pissed him off. "If you haven't seen. You are out gunned, and out numbered. So how about you stand down and move on. Go with Dannie or don't I don't give a shit."
As soon as the guns were away, and he knew they were safe Nate would get in the truck and take off.

Jake was waiting for an answer , as he waited his mood turned from bad to worse. He didn’t do what Nate asked, so the engine kept running, bringing in more walkers. Jake knew that it would bring danger to the group and the person responsible for it, didn’t do a thing to stop it, cause the engine was still running. Plus he didn’t reply to Nate either.
Just as Jake wanted to give him one more warning, Dannie started talking, telling them they should bring him along. Jake couldn’t believe his own ears. ‘Yes he might have been a good shot, but mind the fucking attitude.’ Jake thought. Dannie fiddled a bit with the dude his glasses, telling them he wouldn’t cause any trouble, well not telling, it seemed more like a demand towards him.
Just then the guy finally replied agreeing to the no bullshit. But he grabbed is gun, killed the four closest walkers and then aimed at Nate. He lowered his gun and talked a bit oncem ore saying he didn’t want any trouble. Jake was shocked, he didn’t want trouble but just aimed at his friend, he waited for a brief second, to process everything that happened. Then he started to grab his gun, he saw enough and one more aim at one of his first and Jake would fire the next shot, but he would make sure the bullet hit something, while grabbing his gun he heard a shot. His eyes filled with fear, did the strange dude kill someone. He looked around only to see Mia with a gun, then he turned back to the stranger, he seemed fine, though he didn’t yet know where the bullet went. Jake then finally raised his gun and pointed at him, while once more processing what just happened.
He heard how Mia gave Dannie a piece of her mind, followed by Nate agreeing. Shortly after Nate once more warned the dickhead on the motorcycle, he let him know not to bring danger to the group. Jake then sighed and started talking while slowly lowering his gun, not holstering it this time though. “You know what Dannie, I couldn’t agree more with Nate and Mia, this……” Jake paused. “I can't even find a suitable name that could express how assy he is.” He added. “Anyways this fucker is here for like five minutes and already he aimed a gun at Nate, pissed and upset Mia, sort of forced her to fire a warning shot, attracted walkers and making me want to hit him just to make sure he keeps that annoying mouth shut.” He sighed again. “But if you want to take him feel free, are you riding with him or me, cause I don’t know what you want anymore.” He added.
Then he turned to Charles, his eyes would tell how pissed he was at the motherfucker. “You heard Nate, one wrong move and he’ll kill you, but I’ll make sure he grants you a slow and painful dead, this group has been through a lot, so we protect each other, so I’ll be watching you buddy.” Jake said stern. “Let’s go Nate.” Jake said as he slowly started walking towards his car, making sure to look over his shoulder, so Charles couldn’t do one of those sudden moves again. Jake actually wanted to go check on Mia, but that would cost time, which they didn’t had, so he decided to ask if she was ok at the next stop.
Dannie pulled out her gun as Charles drew his but instead of aiming it at them, he turned and shot at the walkers that were coming. She groaned loudly at that knowing that things had gone from bad to worse. She didn't necessarily agree with letting him stick around. Hell, she actually agreed with Nate that if he was going to cause trouble, he'd get himself killed and it would be his own damn fault.
"You should have turned the bike off, dumbass." But just as quickly, Mia fired off a shot at Charlie's feet and she felt the ricochet as the bullet bounced off the concrete and past her leg. It wasn't enough to wound or even graze, but it was close enough that it could have hurt someone.
"Mia! Put the gun away! We don't need this!" She kept her gun drawn, but was cool under pressure. She wasn't going to aim it at anyone's head, especially the people she was going to be traveling with. When she stormed off and Nate said his peace, she turned back to Charles and frowned.
"Don't screw this up for me Charles. I swear to God, I will put a bullet in your head if you do." It may have been an empty threat. He was a remnant from her past; a memory that she had almost all but forgotten in her desperation to survive. She agreed with Nate though, she didn't want another ambush like what happened to her in Colorado. She didn't want another group of crazies shooting and lying to them. Nate, Mia and Jake were good people and Nate had a good plan to get them to Canada. In the harsh winters, she couldn't fathom how any walkers could be as mobile and hungry.
But there was something about him. He had swagger and he had a charm to him that always seemed to disarm people. He didn't start off on a good foot here, but once he got under their skin, she knew what he could do. He was a master manipulator and she had been manipulated many times by him to have a few charges dropped or erased or just not put on any report. Cash in her pocket from his club wasn't forgotten and there were a few times when he was able to keep her out of a jam with her superiors..and with Sterling, her partner who frowned upon these biker gangs with furious hatred.
"Look, just be cool, okay? We'll get to where we're going and if you want to follow, then you have to play by at least a few rules, can you do that?"
She looked back to Jake who had enough of all this. She was still going to ride with him and they needed to get off the road already.

With a look straight at Nate, who refused to back down, he heard Dannie calling him a dumbass for not turning the engine off. It didn`t bother Charles, it was intentional afterall, but the attitude of Nate began to really irritate him. With tensions running all high, a gunshot was suddenly fired and it came from Mia`s direction. A few inches further and it could have hit him or Dannie, what was she thinking?! Then she freaked out and told everyone to calm down, before she finally stormed off toward the truck and got in. Apparently Charles had hit a nerve in that girl, which he kind of understood after all that had happened.
After she left, Nate continued his aggressive behavior, claiming he would kill Charles if he so but tried anything else to hurt the group. Nate then waited for a response, judging him by what happened next. Charles smiled, keeping a tough look without flinching, saying nothing in return. As their gaze locked, Jake spoke to Dannie and Charles listened keenly. It was obvious the group didn`t like him very much and it was getting her in a lot of trouble, especially since she had vouched for him. How did it come to this, Charles thought to himself, but shrugged it off.
Next Jake approached and backed Nate up on his words, the same way he had done earlier, backing up others words and threats like a kid too afraid to do anything himself. Instead of making the situation worse, Charles kept his mouth shut for the moment, knowing if he said something more there would be retaliation. With most of the group gone, Charles remained with Dannie, who asked him again to behave, to not make her regret. “Don`t worry, I`ll be cool.” He replied for only her to hear.
Then she ran to follow Jake, and it was time for them to leave the area. The noise had attracted too many already, hopefully next stop would be better off. Now it was time to decide, should Charles just leave them alone, or should he follow. Considering his options of either being alone with the hordes of the undead, or with somebody he knew, though most of the group already hated him, he choose the second, at least for the time being. His original plan was still up in the air; he could still try and steal their supplies later. However, did he really want that anymore? Now that he had found a piece of his past still living. Charles put back his gun and waited for them to drive ahead, where they headed next was obvious, but what would happen there remained to be seen.
When Dannie and Jake both left for their cars Nate just looked at the man. "When we get to the next place, turn the engine off." He said with a smirk. Nate quickly loaded whatever supplies were left into the back of the truck and went around to the driver door. Climbing in he shut it behind him.
Nate didn't like having his back turned to the guy, he didn't trust him enough. Half expecting a shot to the back he turned and looked at the biker. Looking back over at Mia he smiled. "So that happened. You okay?" He looked at the gun on her lap, "it worked, got him to shut up. He took her hand and gave it a squeeze. "Hopefully everything will be okay."
Nate started the truck and put it in drive. He sped off in the direction of the store, hoping Dannie and Jake would follow behind him. As he drove he kept one hand on the wheel, the other still holding Mia's .
