Once they had kissed he would lean back on the chair once more, bottle nestled in between his legs. He wasn't going to make a big deal out of the kiss.
"I see. That's the way it is for most people nowadays." He was beginning to show a softer side that, to be fair, scared him more than his more psychotic antics. Although J was quite at ease killing something, a good part of him was still a gentleman that loved the companion of a nice lady, specially if she had a good and honest personality to boot. He didn't need much pushing to go and kill someone, but those that didn't fall on that list well, he was pretty fond of them. And, so far, he had to admit she liked this girls for reasons other than the obvious.
"People don't seem to last with me." Of course that had nothing to do with the fact that he often killed those that slowed the group down. "Weak mentality, failure to take on tough decisions. It eats away at people. And if it doesn't, the bitters sure do." He took another large gulp of the bottle, noticing it was 3/4 of the way empty, with just some more to spare and placed it on the table, lifting his legs onto it.
"I don't wanna impose. But I'm not in a hurry to be anywhere but safe. I can only assume you'd want the same. If you wanna stick together for a while I'm all for it. I can always use someone watching my back, and you're actually not too bad a kisser," he said jokingly with an obvious bit of flirtatiousness to it.
"You mean that liplock that was nothing but putting two mouths together with hardly any passion in it? If that's it, then I'd have half a mind to show you what a real kiss is.", she said with a small grin as if she was being half-serious on the subject, but she did see J was a sentimental man just like she was for the past, though she was different in that she wasn't changed much, if at all, from the experiences while he most likely changed a whole lot. He said he was the one to kill people for a group, that he was the one who would take that burden but at the same time, be loyal to those who was fond of. She heard his offer for them to stick together, that being both an invitation and a sign he was starting to trust her. She couldn't deny it, she was starting to feel the same. If she was one of the psychotic or useless survivors he so sought to kill, she could've tried to kill and rob him. Yet here she was, next to him with her weapon against the wall near the door and part of her shirt off...her shirt? Oh, boy. She took a quick glance downward at her arm he had worked on and the fact part of her stomach and bare sides were showing, before her gaze slowly lifted up towards him, wondering what he thought. Did he think her an easy woman? A whore? Or was she...different, in his eyes?
Shaking his head from side to side, he couldn't help but smile though he tried not to. And bringing his legs down from the table he would extended them, quickly grabbing at the legs of her chair and pulling to a point so that she would be thrown or pulled over to him. All else being perfect, she would be nestled into his strong arms.
"My real name is Jace, but you can still call me J." so soon as he said that he'd close his eyes once more and kiss her. This time, he held the back of her head a little firmer. Starting out by pulling on her lower lip again, her nibble on her lips before kissing her passionately, letting his tongue lap and play with hers.
He wasn't sure if she got it, but the girl was indeed different. Sure, she wasn't the first girl he had kissed after the apocalypse. But she was the first he had told his real name to. The reason why he didn't understand as he had just met her. But on these days, where life was finished in an instant and death was an unwelcome visitor, there was no time to waste. And he liked her. He had to admit that for some reason, he really did.
Shel gasped quietly as she felt herself being practically tugged into J's arms in some form or fashion, whichever way it was that was her destination it seemed. If it were anyone else, she would've headbutted the guy and tried to squirm away. Yet, something about him just seemed to put her at ease. It was all sudden, yes, and his way of approaching may have offended and put off other, normal women, but saw emotion in his way of expression. She saw that he was pained in some manner by this, just the way she was. She could've squirmed out of his arms in rejection, but she found herself instead steadily leaning into him, her eyes half-open as she heard him reveal his real name to her. In reciprocation, she looked up at him softly, and spoke her name, Shelley, just in time before she would feel her mouth taken by his yet again but slowly rested her left hand on his shoulder...a single thought, a worry, lingered in her mind, however, on this moment, and that was what set her different from other women in Jace's eyes...surely, he had kissed others, what made her different?
Holding her, he would lift her up so that she would sit straddled on his lap, facing him. She had that look however. She was thinking of something. She was pondering. He was no psychic, and he couldn't quite phantom what it was she thought of but he had a very vague idea. Whether he'd hit the nail on the head or not, he wasn't sure but he'd try. "No," he said as he wrapped his arms around her waist, fingers intertwining behind her. "I don't know why, but that's exactly why I aim to find out."
Of course he was talking about her and him.
On that position, since his head would hang lower that hers he would look up, kissing her before his lips traced a line from her bottom lip to her chin and the angled line of her jaw bone. He would plant soft kisses before biting gently and pulling on her earlobe with his lips. At the very least he knew the door was closed and locked and his machete was not far as was the rest of his weapons and hers. They were good and safe for the time being.
"Find out about what? You seem to know what I'm thinking...want to try your hand at it?", she asked him quietly, talking about him guessing what she was thinking so intently about. Nonetheless, she kept her head firm but movable as she felt his lips trace from hers to her chin and then along her jaw. She couldn't help but laugh a bit at the feeling of her earlobe being pulled, her legs felt to be rather strong against his...was she an athlete? Would he care to find out? Her hand slowly found itself rubbing against his shoulder and back, her reddish-brown eyes half-open on him with her lips parted lightly. She had just met the guy, and she was already this intimate with him? She didn't know why, but she wasn't stopping him from doing this, having not bothered to put her arm back through her hurt partially because it was comfortable like it was, but also in case more care needed to be done for it. "You seem...content. Is it just 'cause you have a woman on you, or is it something...more?"
The cliche thing would be to say something more," he said before pausing to kiss her once more. "But," kiss, "I can't help," kiss, "if its the truth," kiss.
He had spoken in short little words, stopping every time to kiss her quickly in what seemed like a comical yet amusing series of kisses. It was his way of letting her know he meant what he said without being awkward or making himself blush or become flustered. Sometimes for him, humor was the best way in which he could convey serious thoughts and conversations without exposing the relatively hard to see softer shell of himself.
True, he would have been content to do what he was doing with almost any lady. But he wouldn't quite do it as he did now. Sharing his real name, feeling for her a sense of responsibility like a guardian to his protegee. She was certainly different to him in a way but even he didn't know quite yet how. It was indeed why he said he wanted to find out if she did as well.
From time to time he'd bounce her playfully on his lap as his hands grasped firmly at the area where her back ended. "If there's something to you want to ask," he said still as he pulled gently on her earlobe with his lips before kissing the edge of her jaw and whispering, "ask."
"Well, I'm surprised you haven't asked me more about, well...me, too. The past doesn't much matter now, but I'd like to hear what happened on the day this all started. Anything you want to tell me?", she asked J softly with a slight gulp from feeling him trail his mouth all over her head basically, from her lips to her earlobe, and now along her jaw. With her head lifted lightly out of response to the feeling, her eyes lowered to look down at him as if expecting an answer to her question, her hand continuing to gently caress his neck before he would feel something surprising, most likely for him, in the form of her injured, newly-mended arm slowly lifted so her other hand rubbed his shoulder, partly to test how it feels to move it, and partly to show some endearment towards this not-so-total stranger, whose lap she found to be quite comfy right now.

"I think your story might be a lot more interesting than mine," he said as he leaned his head back some, locking his eyes with hers but still keeping a firm hold on her butt.
"People didn't show up to work, and all hell came lose. I guess it gave me a chance to test out my guns, but you know,"he said with a bit of a sarcastic giggle, "I do kind of miss more of back then than I care to admit."
But,"he added with a grin tightening his hold on her butt,"the past is the past and there ain't nothing we can do to go back. But we can certainly try to live the present as a close enough reflection." He looked into her eyes endearingly as he spoke, letting her know he could be just as much of a jokingly and flirtatious guy as he could be comfortable, reassuring, and dependable.
"What happened to you? Can't imagine its anything good, but since you pretty much came to my life or rather, my lap,"he joked not being able to hold back the light laughter, "I'd say luck is finally on my, I mean, on our side."

"Well..of all things, it started when we were playing a baseball game. We were at the bottom of the 2nd when things went to hell, and we were the visiting team. Before the bat, though, someone from the audience fell over the railing in the stands. Needless to say, going to examine her and make sure she was okay was a big mistake, and even the EMTs got bitten and so did the baseball players. All of my team got killed, even when I tried to save them. I wasn't...strong enough.", she said quietly as if she was trying to hold back tears, lowering her head against his chest with her hand covering her eyes. ""I've been by myself since, never joined a group and avoided major settlements like the plague...pun intended.", she added to her recollection before she addressed what he said and couldn't help tilting her head a bit, her eyes up on him now after lifting her head.
"And how do you plan to live the present as a close reflection? What's Lady Luck brought you, through me, then?", she asked while she watched his expression and eyes, curious of what he had to say to everything she did.
He would listen attentively, eyes locked with hers although diverting occasionally to her bosom... but mostly on her eyes. Regardless however, he was listening, and more importantly, he was paying attention and understanding. With a random lady like the ones he had met and bedded before, both before and after the apocalypse, he would've simply drifted off into his own subconscious while faking good listening skills. This time however, he was quite into it, if anything because he cared both about her story and her. Still baffled him that he did, about such a newcomer at that, but he did. He did.
"I really hate sounding cliche, dam it," he cursed jokingly raising a hand to hold the back of her head gently and lovingly while the other still pressed on her butt, allowing just the right balance of care and lustful flirtatiousness. "You don't have to be alone. BUT," he said pronouncing the last word a bit louder as to try and get past the fact he was showing more affection for her in such a short time than he had for anyone even before dead people started eating the living. "I'd say this here makes me lucky already," he joked while holding her butt. "But seriously though, I tend to avoid certain people because they simply hinder their survival and mine, and to be honest they are just better off dead then anyways. But I can be of luck to you as you can be to me. And maybe I can figure out why I care about you in ways beyond just the in between the legs part, wink wink," he said purposely adding that last part just to let her know some of his thoughts.
Shel couldn't help tensing slightly at feeling his hand on her butt, even turning her head and gaze downward to his hand as to look at it before looking back up at J, sighing softly. What he said really may have been cliché, but it was true. He was a survivor no matter his personality, and she respected that. As long as he wasn't trying to kill her, she's fine with it. She only blinked and gave a playful "heh" to his talk about loving her beyond what was between her legs, before looking around quietly.
"Hate to ask, but...is there any food around here? And where should I sleep?", she asked...the first question not meaning much, but the second meant that he would agreeably have her company now, as if she was forgoing her one night rule. There were safety in numbers, even if it's just one other person. But would he try anything while she slept...? It was risky, but she can't go doubting him right off the bat.
"I'll take things that aren't there for $500 dollars," he said jokingly about the food. "Nah but really, I've swept the place, and most around here for that matter. Not that I can't be surprised but chances are food is a no-no. However," he said getting up pretty much lifting his little lady with him as he did before letting her down.
"I got this." Out from his backpack he'd pull out a bag with a fair amount of what looked like white rice. On its own it was of course short of a great meals but meals were nothing great nowadays anyways. Rice had the benefit of having a ridiculously long shelf life, something that was pretty nifty in the end of the world. And, with some water and some fire to bring the temperature up to a near boil, it was as good a post apocalyptic meal as anything else.
"I'm sure we scrounger up some wood upstairs without burning the house down, find a big bed, and have a little more fun, what do you think?he said with a wink, smiling and inadvertently biting on the corner of his lower lip in anticipation.

"Well, that'd sound good to eat right about now. Is it meal time yet?", Shel asked with a slight grin as if sharing a joke with him, standing on her own feet now and crossed her arms over her chest. She looked around the house from her position before looking to one of the windows. If white rice was all they had to eat, they were gonna starve before long. So, she figured supply runs should be in order. And with what she saw when she got up here, it was practically a ghost town for zombies at this point. Maybe they've got a chance to go and find something. At his last comment about a bed and "fun", she couldn't help but give him a coy smirk, placing a finger on his lips. "Whoa whoa, down boy. Not on the first date."
"Let's just see where it goes," he said with a smirk of his in response to the possibility of sleeping together.
"But yea," he said standing up well, "We can give another sweep to the town. Also, I'm sure you're deadly with the machete but do you wanna borrow one of my tools?" He had his Glock and his machete handy if she wanted to borrow them in their run to town. If not that was fine. He had his Kel Tec as his main weapon with his Glock as a sidearm. He even had the machete with the folding knife as a back up to that so he felt he had covered his options rather well.
"Considering I've never used a gun before, I could use the machete, or I could use my bat...either or.", she said, glancing to the door as if mentally preparing herself to head back out again. Well, at least she had a couple hours or so of rest so she was at least physically ready. But she knew they had to eat soon, white rice wasn't going to cut it especially with the both of them. She grinned a bit at J and patted his head in a mock-punishing manner. ""Hey hey, reel your mind out of the gutter...the last thing you want is some erotic fantasy making you zombie chow.", she said to him, slinging her bat over her shoulder while she held her right arm tucked against her chest and stomach.
"Fine, fine," he said jokingly as he headed to the door. "First we take care of the zombies and the food, and then we can have our night of erotic adventure. Deal? he added in a rather flirtatious but comical manner, even blowing a kiss at her.
"You can borrow the machete and use the bat as well if you like," he said placing the Glock into its holster and retrieving and unfolding his Kel Tec into a ready position out of his backpack. "I'm good to go when you are, beautiful."
"I suppose I could use the machete if this here bat of mine breaks...which I hope it doesn't.", she said as she held her hand out towards him to receive the machete, though just as playfully blew raspberry at him in response to what he said about a night of erotic adventure, after they risk their lives to the undead of all things. While waiting for the weapons, she looked around out the window quietly as if mentally taking in where they would most likely be going, and what they'd get.
