Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse: Jackson grew up in an upper-middle class family in New York, where he attended a boarding school upon the age of 13. He excelled in school, and would began outsmarting his teachers around this age. He enrolled at Columbia University at the age of 17, studying political science. He graduated in three years, and went on to pursue a JD/MBA program at Columbia.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?: He was at school. Being in downtown New York, there was no way for Jackson to get home to find his family amidst the utter chaos clogging the streets. He hid in the basement of one of his academic buildings with a few fellow students for about a week, eating whatever food they had on them and what they found in the basement's vending machines. After about a week, Jackson suggested opening the door to the basement and leaving, but another student protested, saying it was unsafe. When the other student tried to stop Jackson, Jackson gutted him with his knife, and opened the door, leaving the student to die and turn, killing the other handful of surviving students.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse: Jackson made his way down the Atlantic coast, never staying with one group for too long. He was a chameleon of sorts, blending in however he needed to. If he needed to be nice, he would be. If he needed to kill a family, he would. He became the epitome of amorality. He stayed with a group in DC for some time, but eventually left when some of the members caught on to his sociopathic tendencies.
He stayed with a group in western Florida called Carthage, for a while, which suited his needs, though he escaped with his life (barely) when the leader went mad and burnt the community to the ground, killing everyone inside. He worked his way west, and found himself in New Orleans, where he was quickly taken in by a group led by a man named Acer. Jackson has laid low in this group, and does not stand out.
