Dakota snagged her youth rifle, and opened it to ensure it was fully loaded. It was already ready to go, so she went to set back down, keeping her rifle at her side. She was getting back to drawing herself, glancing up at Tori, and over to Lily ”I guess we could keep burying them, but there's not a lot of places to get rid of yucky diapers.”
She paused a moment, glancing between Clem, Ash and Tori, some growing alarm in her voice, ”We're going out there too? Do you really think it was someone besides Mark or Kiku??”

"Generators maybe?" she hopped out of the truck, "It can't be too far away. There's always the possibility that it was never used before." She looked around the room some more, "But I think it's very strange that this room has not been looted from, the supplies alone could help a small group of people for a month at least." The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, something just didn't feel right. Every bit of her instincts over the past 3 years is telling her to run, but she can't just up and abandon Mark. The man just lost his eye recently, his balance still must be off so running would be a challenge. Fight? Will it even happen right away? How big is their enemy? Can they truly survive this should everything go south? "We should go back to the RV and find a different road, one that might put us smack dab in the middle of trouble..."
[OCC: I'm so very sorry for my late reply. I have been out of sorts lately, between the end of my school semester and the odd hours I was given at work for my two weeks off, I haven't been able to sit down and properly write a reply.]
Mark kept looking around the room. "This place was abandoned. Probably by people wanting to see their loved ones." Mark kept his bandana pulled over his injured eye. He listened to Kiku's remarks about how it wasn't raided. The biker walked over to her and crossed his arms. "Look we've got barely any room in the RV. This place should be safe we can even barricade the door with the firetruck." The biker moved to the door. "We have three kids with us now. It's best we have a place to lay low hidden from people looking for trouble."
Ash placed the tiny child down on the seat. "Don't go far stay within view of the RV." The texan pulled his revolver magnum out of its holster as he moved to the door. "We're waiting for Kiku and Mark. Don't move far. Lilly stay here with the baby. Clem and Dakota. Stay by the door please. Tori come with me and we'll search a few of thes-" Ash stopped and listened. Was that singing he was hearing. Stepping out of the RV he listened. He did hear singing. Shadow whined refusing to leave the RV. He moved up the steps before moving to the girls.
"What the hell..." The singing was getting louder like a group of people were singing as if nothing had happened in the world. "In his hands. He's got the whole wide world in his hands." Ash kept his revolver in his hand as people started to appear moving between the cars. They all were dressed in red shirts and black pants of different designs. Raising his gun at the group a man in a fedora stepped in front. He sported a warm smile that made Ash feel uneasy. No one in the group raised their weapons at Ash as they stopped behind the smiling man. "Who are you?"
Brett was leading a group through the tunnel as they collected supplies from the cars. He sat on top of a van eating an apple as the walkers inside weakly tried to escape but couldn't get out of their seats. His followers were silent as they searched vehicles and stabbed the walkers. The lights coming on surprised Brett. Standing up his followers looked at him as a smile spread across his face.
"My brothers and sisters it appears we have some new souls that will need help during this mankinds darkest hour." Brett called out to his followers. They started to hum as he climbed down the van before walking. Pushing his fedora down on his head they started to sing. "He's got the whole world. In his hands. He's got the whole wide world in hands."
Spotting the Texan outside the RV he stopped his group as the man drew his gun. "Who are you?" The man said to Brett. Brett kept smiling. "My name is Brett. I am the leader of this community known as The Community of the Second Sun." His followers kept their weapons down as the man kept his gun pointed at Brett. "We'd like to invite you and anyone else in your group to our humble abode."
Tori heard the singing. That was a song she hasn't heard since Mary dragged her to church one Sunday morning. Didn't fill her with good vibes at all. The redhead stayed close behind Ash as he raised his gun and questioned the man. He looked like a freak and sounded like one, too. She knew she shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but damn, the warning flares going off around this guy was unmistakeable. Who called their group the 'Second Sun,' anyway?
Were they the ones who turned on the light to the tunnel? Seemed like a dumb idea if they wanted to avoid walkers, but Brett looked like he had a few nuts loose to begin with. Who sang in the middle of the street like that? Tori bet they were all good, god-fearing men, too. As if she didn't have enough reason to feel uneasy around them. Religious people were crazy enough when the world was still functional. Mary had been a few of the good ones. Tori moved up to Ash's side so she could whisper in his ear:

Dakota followed Ash and Tori to the door. She turned to Shadow, glad the husky was staying by their side. With a quick glance back out the door, she pet and patted over Shadow's head and ears, ”Good boy.”
She couldn't shake the sense of alarm, though in the back of her head, she thought the lights really were just Kiku and Mark. Then there was the singing, and a song remembered singing back in Sunday school with all the other little kids... when she was five. About the time her half of the Snow family petered out in church attendance. All of it more than half a lifetime ago. The way these people sang it, carried a certain creepy factor that sent warning chills down her spine.
No more crazy people. Koda had sworn that to herself more times than she could count since Miami. They kept popping up with alarming frequency anyway. Not this time. No crazy person was going to shoot her Papa Bear while she watched. No crazy family was going to fool naive or weary grown ups and weasel their way to leading HER new family astray. No crazy militia or bandits were going to blow them up. She meant to shoot every one of these crazy bastards dead before they got the chance. Starting with the guy talking to Ash... Brett.

Clementine double checked on baby Lee one more time, before leaving him to Lilly. She smiled to Lilly and hurried to join Dakota at the RV door. Initially, she crouched down in the opposite side of it from the other little girl. That singing didn't exactly fill her with much confidence in what may come.
She crept closer to the edge of the door to peer around at Tori and Ash, meaning to keep them covered. If she hadn't taken a quick glance back at Koda, she might have missed it. The demeanor of her best friend had changed suddenly. Clem knew it was a look Dakota sometimes had right before she did something rash. Usually it was something harmless, but there was nothing harmless about the way she was settling in to take aim at Brett's head.
Clem slipped across the doorway and tipped Dakota's youth rifle up, "Koda! Wait! Not yet. We don't want. We don't know how many of them might still be hiding. We need to trust Tori and Papa Bear to handle them. Our job is keep them covered."
Koda's side of the door did have a better angle, so Clem stayed, but took down low. She was practically sitting on Dakota's feet, her gun now ready. "You will know when."

One second more and Dakota would have had a bullet in the chamber of her rifle, and shared it with Brett's head. She had at least fourteen more to share with the rest of the cultists in rapid succession after that. She was briefly angered that Clem had stopped her, but Clem was right. Dakota's own inner voice of reason came back into focus.
She frowned and leaned in over Clem, taking the higher end of the door. Taking a calming breath, she kept her rifle at the ready. She freed one hand briefly to pet Shadow again, the dog's presence helping keep her fear in check. "I just hope that it's not too late by then. Crazies don't give you much warning."
Ash's revolver didn't move. Locked onto the mans head he knew the magnum round would be enough to destroy the mans head. As Tori moved up to him he listened to her whisper to him. "I'm glad you agree." Ash whispered back to Tori. It helped Ash knowing that the others shared in his thoughts.
"We're not going with you. Please leave." Ash's voice strong and commanding as he kept his gun trained on the man leading the group. "I don't ask twice." Ash pulled the hammer back on his gun showing he ment buisness.

Brett's smile didn't fade. Peaking past the texan he spotted the two girls with a dog that was very protective over them. His gaze immediately returned to Ash as the women whispered something in his ear. When Ash refused Brett's offer his smile didn't fade and his mood didn't change. "I can understand your refusal of my offer. These are dark times. I will take my congregation and leave but before I do I'm gonna offer you some free advice."
Brett pointed past Ash and towards Clementine and Dakota. "I'd recommend you train both those girls with your gun." Keeping his smile up as he lowered his hand as he turned back towards his group. "From that mark on your forehead I'd say now wouldn't be too soon." The cultists turned around and started to file out. Brett stopped and looked Ash dead in the eyes.
"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to posses and drives out before you many nations then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, Show now mercy." Using his hand he did a hail mary before walking back with his congregation as the song started back up.
Tori's paranoid side was beginning to show. She didn't know people to give up on something that easily after making an offer, especially when they were crazy. The redhead had a bad feeling they wouldn't see the last of them if they stuck around. She was now more determined to find Mark and Kiku.
“Let's get going. The faster we find Mark and Kiku, the faster we can get the hell out of this place.”
Kiku sighed, "I won't argue. If you think this is best, then it's what we will do." She put one of the flashlights in her bag, it was a bit over sized for her bag but she needed her hands free for the trip back to the RV. It wasn't her place to tell everyone to turn back now, she was backing down without a fight. "Shall we go back?"
A fair distance away from the end of the tunnel a man with long ginger hair was crouched behind a car. The design of the tunnel allowed their voices to carry, even if he couldn't understand their words. This bunch were crazy and he didn't want to get overly involved but he swore that while he was in this area he'd warn anyone else who could fall into this cults warpath. Although, he seems to be bad at it. He looked around him, checking for van like vehicles or access doors. He needed to hide, if they turned around he'd find himself in their path. It was there that he saw a door, he crept over to it silently and, turning the door knob slowly, he opened the door and peered around the door. To his surprise he found more people, "God I hope you aren't with the crazy people."

Clementine hoped they would leave without a fuss, because she knew once the bullets started flying... It could be that militia attack all over again, only with no place to run this time. She couldn't but help think about Mark's lost eye, and the way it looked as the RV sped away from the motel back in Texas.
It was certain these cultists were bad news, and if there were fewer of them, she was not so sure she would have stopped Dakota. She held her own gun ready. If everything did turn for the worse, Clem would have to make sure every one of her few bullets counted. The very idea of a firefight made her palms sweat around the gun's grip
Rubbing her hands to keep her grip solid, she narrowed her dark gaze, and fixed her aim on a guy not so far from the apparent leader. This wasn't the mansion in Miami, and there was no one else to give Tori and Ash cover. No closet to hide in from this madman, and unlike Adolphus, this one had back up. Clem had wanted to help for real, and now she had to. Knowing Ash and Tori, Dakota, Lilly and baby Lee were counting on her, gave her the courage she need to keep her focus.
The man she had in her sights came into sharp focus, and their leader seemed to take Ash's warning. The cultists were just as frightening going as they were coming with the way they sang. Once she was sure they were really going, Clem left the RV doorway to go check on baby Lee. She breathed deep in relief, ”Please don't come back.”
She smiled briefly to the baby and Lilly, and put her gun away. "Do you think those people will be back, Lilly?”

Dakota felt the urge plug every one of the cultists' heads with lead again when they turned to leave. For a flash, it felt like the only chance to be rid of them for good. They were leaving though, and Dakota's own voice of reason wouldn't be drowned out by momentary fear and anger this time. She repeated softly to herself a line of her Uncle Rob's:
”The only live bandit, is the bandit that runs away and stays away.”
These ones were going away, so she held her fire. Her aim did not waver one bit, until the last of the cultists had disappeared from sight, Dakota staying ready to open fire if any one of the cultists so much as turned around and took one step back toward Ash and Tori.
She lowered her rifle when and only when they're singing was fading down the tunnel. Adrenaline leaving her system, Koda felt all at once just how frightened she had been. Her singular drive to be rid of crazy people both heightening her fear and helping her ignore it at the same time. It left her feeling weak and physically drained, her hands and body shaking. Koda had been a heartbeat from starting a firefight.
The heat of the moment gone, she remembered Adolphus's bullets whizzing between her and Clem when he sprayed the Miami mansion, or how Jeff still got Anthony and Ash even though she got him. Koda just made it back to the bench to sit. Laying her youth rifle across her lap, she stared at her still trembling hands.

Clementine seeing Dakota finally move from the doorway and sit down, grew concern across her face. It didn't do Clem's own confidence much good seeing her usually more fearless friend so shaken. She slid over on the bench, and put a hand meant to be reassuring on the other girl's shoulder. ”Hey, that was kinda intense, huh?”
Post by Dakota Snow on Sept 8, 2015 14:22:04 GMT -5
Dakota glanced up at the feel of Clem's hand on her shoulder, and breathed deep. A deep breath meant to bring calm that brought tears instead. ”Can.. can say that again. I... I almost really screwed up.”
Post by Clementine on Sept 8, 2015 14:22:22 GMT -5
Squeezing Dakota's shoulder once, Clem brought her hand back to herself. She leaned over to offer a more direct warms mile to the stooping Koda. But you didn't. That's what's important. And I know you would've shown those bozos what for if you had to. We were lucky this time that we didn't need to.”

Rubbing her hazel eyes, Dakota didn't break into sobbing. Still, it was hard keeping her young eyes dry. She tipped her hat back and shook her head, ”But if you hadn't...I would've...”
