Nick walked for what seemed forever. He never enjoyed walking too long distances in the first place, and yet here he was, walking for days on end. It would be half of a problem had he walked empty-handed, but that was not possible. Not unless he wanted to die. Nick's bag was filled with different items, his shotgun on his back and a bat in his hands was literally putting weight on his feet, draining his stamina with every step. Alas, he would not be walking aimlessly for too long, now that he saw a sign by the road which, although slightly covered by dark blood, said "Newark ** **les!" Nick walked closer to the sign and tried to wipe off the dry blood to see the number of miles left. But the blood was too dry to be wiped easily, where Nick had better things to do than to clean a broken, dirty road sign. Looking to the left of the sign, Nick saw a dead cop's body. Slightly laughing out, Nick asked -"Hey officer, you wouldn't happen to know the number of miles I need to walk, do you?"- after a short break of silence, Nick continued -"No? Guess you're just as useless dead, as you were alive."- with that, Nick laughed it out and continued walking while encouraging himself -"Can't be more than I've already walked. I got this."
There were quite a few vehicles on road, but Nick simply wouldn't bother checking them out. Most of them look broken or scavenged. And even if it seemed that a vehicle was in a more or less good condition, he strongly believed that there was nothing of use for him. Heck, who knows what crawls around them. Better safe than sorry. Just as Nick was walking close by a broken car, one of the walkers stood up from behind it and began walking towards Nick. Grabbing his bat with two hands, Nick waited for the walker to get closer and than swing his bat, hitting the walker across his rotten head, breaking his skull and making walker fall again the car -"Ye, you stay on your side and I'll stay on mine, ugly. Lets not make our relationships even more complicated aright?"- Nick turned to see more few walkers get up from around the cars, yet lowered his bat as they were too far away to do anything, and shouted to them "Ya'll heard that? Because I won't repeat myself!"- Nick placed his bat against his shoulder and continued his way near the road. After all, he still had a few miles left between him and the city.
