Full Name: Randall M. Slade
Aliases: Slade
Avatar Photo:
Age: 64
Race: Caucasian
Gender: Male
Appearance: Slightly above average height, bald. Crooked nose, attributable to it being broken when he was younger.
Alignment: True neutral.
Occupation: Retired. Former hitman. Former steakhouse manager.
Where they are from: Born in South Bend, Indiana. Lived in Denver, Colorado
Relationships: Unnamed brother, unnamed daughter (and son in-law), unnamed son, unnamed grandson. All presumed dead.
Weapons: MP5 submachine gun, 9mm pistol
Items: Besides the clothes on his back, not too much. A flashlight, some rubbing alcohol.
Personality: Randall has an incredibly dry personality, nearly always speaking in a single, even and flat tone. He is pragmatic and cautious, though he is also quick to anger when he witnesses incompetence in others, particularly in intense situations. He is an impatient man, and isn't often willing to help others who cannot offer anything in return. That being said, he has a soft side, though only for his presumably deceased children and grandchild. It remains to be seen whether this affection can transcend family relations.
Special Skills and Strengths: Given his past as a hitman, he has extensive knowledge of weapons and their use. He is an intelligent, brooding man, and can devise elaborate plans in a matter of mere moments.
Weaknesses and Flaws: Randall is an older man, and thus lacks the strength, speed, and stamina that a younger person is likely to possess.
Prior to the Apocalypse: Randall was born in South Bend, Indiana to a middle class family. Never caring for academics, he fell into a life of degeneracy and small-time drug dealing. However, when he was 29 years old, a friend of his attempted to expand his influence and market to Chicago, Illinois. For a time, Randall became a distributor, making frequent trips between Chicago and South Bend, eventually moving to Chicago altogether. It was then, after another seven years, various competitors tried to enter the market, and Randall was tasked with eliminating other distributors. When his connection in South Bend was apprehended, Randall moved to Denver, Colorado, where his brother lived. For a time, he served as a hitman, employing skills he gained while in Chicago. After making enough money to live comfortably and leave a large amount to his children, Randall became a manager at his brother's steakhouse until he retired at the young age of 60. He had since been living in Denver, enjoying the money he made earlier in life in Chicago.
Post Apocalypse: At the time of the outbreak, Randall's children were living in Tampa and Chicago. He has had no means to contact them, and presumes they are dead, along with his grandson. Additionally, Randall had no time to get to his brother, as he lived on the other side of Denver. Having a fortified armory, Randall used his home as a haven during the apocalypse, running into town to gather supplies and then quickly retreating into his home, playing it safe. In time, other survivors in the area either left or were killed, allowing Randall to leave his home with only the fear of walkers, rather than raiders as well. One day, for a change of pace, Randall got in his car and drove to Bear Lake, as he always had admired the view. He came armed only with his SMG, believing he'd likely only find a stray walker or two in the forest. When he arrived, however, he came upon a group of ROTC students attempting to form a survivor's community. In a rare moment of humanity, Randall offered to help then with what he could, considering the relationship to be only a temporary ordeal. In time, however, Randall began to spend more time at Bear Lake than at his home in Denver. Additionally, Bear Lake began to feel like an emotional investment of sorts, with the residents being the closest things he had to children or grandchildren anymore, as he assumes his biological children and grandchild are dead. As time continued to pass, Randall found himself on Bear Lake's council.
