Damon sipped some more water as all this was going on and half laughed as Aron became some type of stereotype. He had a hand in his pocket and the other had his gun down by his side. He looked at this kid and heard Remy talk of torture, or at least imply it. He lit up a smoke and with a snarl on his face looked at the kid "May not be biting any hands but your being a little arsewipe, continue that somebody will show you manners" He then stomped out his smoke.

Remy did not take the gun that was being offered by Grant. Hell, she was well prepared to duct tape Dexter to a chair and leave him there for the rest of the night. She mostly wanted the tape over his mouth. If anyone was going to put a bullet in his head, it was going to be Luca at this point for being called her bitch and being accused of going into the shop just to fuck her. He had been biding his time and she looked over at him as he stood by the SUV pacing and trying not to lose his shit on the kid.
She turned her gaze back to the boy, ice cold and steaming hot, all at the same time but still, she said nothing to him as he mouthed off to her. All the words that were flying around became just noise that meant nothing to her. Her level of anger just rose and turned into tunnel vision until she finally snapped. But instead of punching him in the face and cracking the bat upside his head, she smiled. Her head tilted slightly and she smiled.
"You're right. It's all about me taking care of myself. Take the reigns, boy, and lead the group."
She started to walk away from him but stopped, taking the bat by the end with the nails between her fingers and lifting it up. She tapped the blunt end against his chest and pushed lightly as she spoke.
"You can be the one responsible for getting everyone killed."
If she were to stay in this place, at this time, she would probably snap to the point where this kid would not make it away from where he stood alive. She dug for the keys in her pocket and moved back towards the SUV she picked up from around the back of the building and sat herself in the driver's side. If it looked like she was getting ready to leave, it was because she was. But the keys stayed in her hand instead of into the starter. She had no idea that Adolphus and his camp was only feet away.
Riker had just about enough of this kid. When Remy told him to grab him and bring him into the shop, he was all too accomodating until Dexter told her to fuck off. It was then he pulled out his handgun from his waist and pointed it at the kid's head.
"Just say when."
His dark eyes looked at the kid with frustration and anger and he could see Grant forking over his gun to Remy, who didn't take it. If that kid had practically spat in his face, then he would have quickly pulled that trigger. But Remy wasn't doing that. She was giving him control. Was she even in control of this group? Dexter brought up a good point. They had no leader and they were all free to go where they wanted. He had seen several groups end in disaster because of their piss poor leadership and he was far too independent to care about taking care of others. Dexter kept spouting off and when he spoke about Remy and Luca going off to screw in the store, he had enough. His fist balled up and he knocked the kid in the jaw, looking to knock him out and shut him up.
When Riker grabbed his gun and pointed it at Dexter, he pretty much guessed that his attempts to solve the situation were not going to work. He'd keep trying but he already felt defeat, normally minds could change but now it certainly wasn't changing.
"Ay, Riker. We don't need to shoot. You're gonna kill him for potentially killing us but if you take that shot, the dead's gonna hear it and kill us."
Aron had killed before, once, for Sasha. But that was because it was necessary, Queenie was a madman which needed to be put down. This wasn't necessary, someone shouldn't be killed for being a bit of a dick. But then again, it was Dexter who had gotten himself into the situation and if he were Remy or Luca, he'd might just do the same but because he wasn't, he could see the bigger picture.
He looked around to see the rest of the group, they seemed just as pissed as he was, except they were pissed at Dexter, he was pissed at the situation.
What happened next didn't surprise him, Dexter had talked his way into it. He wasn't sure if Riker's punch was going to knock Dexter out but he presumed so.
Aron attempted one more time to end the situation. "You should just leave him behind but do what you gotta do to, I ain't stopping you and I ain't a part of what you do to him."
Dexter watched the women pace back and forth, trying not to flip on him. It seemed he had gotten to her, his main intention. He glrared at her when she said to take control. He would, his first sugestion would be they pack the fuck up and get out of this hot ass, dusty shit hole. He was about to answer her when he felt the fist crak his jaw.
It came out of no where, shot pain through all his teeth. Dexter stumbled back, blood filling his mouth. He didn't know what was bleeding, besides it was bleeding a lot. Something was swirling around his mouth, he could feel it knock into his cheeks and teeth. His tongue felt numb and all he tasted was blood.
It poured and dribbled out of his mouth as he fell back. He hit the ground with a groan. His head bounced off the ground an he layed still, blood leeking. Dexter made no movement, just stayed still, his world foggy and slipping into blackness. Blood began to fall from his mouth to the ground and pool around his head.
Remy didn't take the gun, he respected that. She wasn't going to kill him, if he was her, he wouldn't be able to do the same. When she gave Dexter control he just nodded in response, it was respectable. The kid wouldn't be able to handle it, no one could. The kid would fail and prove Remy was right. He was glad the situation didn't get out of hand, Dexter reminded him of his brother, hot headed and immature, ran his mouth to much.
Grant looked at Riker, saw him ball his fists. He went to step in, but it was to late. Riker punched Dexter, knocking the kid on his back unconcious. He watched Aaron react, stepping around the situation and staying out of it. He was right to want none of it, Gran didn't either. Yet Grant didn't want the kid dead, he didn't deserve that.
Grant stepped between Riker and Dexter. "Enough," he said his voice booming, "stand down." He glare at Riker, if he were to do anything, he would have to go through him. "You hit him once, knocked him out, you don't need to do anything else." Grant looked to Luca, Anthony, and Remy. "The kid is an ass but you will not beat him."
Riker was about to give Dexter a swift kick in the ribs with his steel toed boots when Grant stepped in.
"Oh yea, pretty boy? You think this kid's mouth is going to keep us all alive?" He gathered himself and fixed the jacket on his back pacing a few steps back and forth as he collected himself. "This kid is going to mouth off to the wrong person at the wrong time and then what? You think that Adolphus guy or whatever his name is won't open fire?"
He was probably more mad about the way the kid was trying to start shit in their own group and suddenly it made him wonder. The expression on his look changed as the lightbulb went off.
"He's trying to get us all fighting. He's starting shit to get us arguing. How do we know that he's not with that guy who attacked your camp? Maybe he came ahead to try and track us down for him."
He looked towards Remy who walked off, yet again and sat herself in the driver's seat of the SUV. She looked as if she was going to take off, but the engine never started. Luca was hovering close to her looking as if he was unsure if he was going to come back and finish the job on the kid or get in the car and encourage her to go. Anthony was standing there looking shaken with mouth open as if he had just heard the most shocking thing he ever heard.
"Whatever the case may be, it's getting too late for us to hit the road. I can't navigate the highways on my bike. We should probably camp here for the night and head out at first light. Can we at least all agree to that?"
Sam was by the Lexus while the whole thing went down. The kid mouthed off, Remy threw her weight , Grant chimed in and the black kid, then Riker punched Dexter. These people were fucking nuts. Still paranoid about some guy following them.
Sam stared at them all and pulled at the bandages on her wrists. It was a nervous habit. She might have dropped, but she didn't have enough to make her unaware. God she would have loved that, killed for it maybe.
" you all are fucked up." She watched Remy go and sit in the SUV. So what, she was going to go and sulk and pout? Jesus, the whole damn lot of them needed help! That thought made her chuckle. She covered her mouth, and glanced around. She could picture each one in group therapy at the clinic she had been at. Hospital gowns, wheelchairs, legs and ass showing for all to see! Sam burst out laughing an shook her head," and everyone thought I needed therapy!" She stumbled back and leaned against the Lexus. " you all so worried about that guy, and fighting amongst yourselves, save him the trouble." She waved her hand and shrugged," first light, I bet we don't make first light." She chuckled again and ran a hand through her hair. The drug had kicked in good, and she was nice and mellow now.
"I think you don't need to beat on a kid," Grant said glaring at the biker. He narrowed his eyes and looked the man up and down as the biker paced back and forth. The biker said the kid wouldn't help when Afolphus showed up, that his mouth would get him in trouble. "Adolphus will gun him, you, me, every one, down. He wouldn't hesitate to kill any of us. If anything the kids mouth would buy us enough minutes to get the perfect shot."
The biker continued to place and Grant just watched him. Grant didn't look at the others, just watched the biker to see what he would do. He saw the light bulb go off, Grant's hand moving to his gun incase it was a bad idea. He didn't know what the man would do, but listened to him speak. He thought Dexter was with Adolphus, that he was a spy.
"He could be, but it's unlikely. If he is then he got lucky. How could he have randomly found Remy and the rest of us. If he is then how is he contacting Adolphus, carrier pigeon? You can't just call somone anymore. He's been with Aaron the whole time, you see him use a radio? If he was contacting them, then where is Adolphus? He's no where to be seen, he had enough time to be contacted."
He watched Remy go walking off, and get in the SUV. Both Riker and his girl said something, he only caught snippet of each. Sam seemed to be annoyed with what was going on, making the same commets as Dexter. Riker wanted to stay the night, he was probabaly right, they'd be best to go in first light.
"Riker is right. We should stay the night. Rest, recover, and head out in the morning. Aaron, can I get you to take care of Dexter. Leave him here, take him inside, don't let Riker at him. I suggest if we are staying that we take hold up in one or two of the buildings. I'll check on Remy, and then watch the perimeter from a roof," Grant said. Sam made a comment about them not making morning and he shook his head. "Biker, try not to punch the girl. I know you like hitting women and children, but try and refrain yourself."
Grant walked off. He walked up to the SUV and knocked on the window. He looked at Remy inside, waiting until she opened the door or rolled down the window. He wasn't leavig until she did. "We think we should stay the night," he said through it, "we can't travel the night, it's to dangerous. You should come inside with the others."

Luca had wandered off to cool himself off after the kid unloaded on both him and her. She had no idea where he had gone off to, but she knew he could hold his own. If there was a situation he couldn't get out of, she was confident he would come looking for help. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Riker take the kid down and in her mind, Dexter deserved it. She knew he probably couldn't lead them out of a paper bag but if he wanted to try, more power to him. She knew, in the end, it wasn't about knowing what to do, it was about respect. Maybe that's what Grant had for her.
Moments later, there was a knock at her window and the soldier was standing there, waiting for her. She knew she wouldn't leave without Luca as the keys in her hand clearly showed. She opened the door to save battery life for the electric windows as she turned to hear what he had to say. Her hand ran through her hair as she looked down at his feet.
"Yea, alright. I know everyone wants to go, but we can't take that chance. It's not like we got anywhere to be soon."
She looked up and past Grant down the little main street that had an abandoned diner, what looked to be a florist, a tax office and other necessities to get through the day to day life.
"There may be apartments above those businesses. Or maybe we can just lay claim to whatever we can find. There were some sleeping bags in that sporting goods store."
She slid out of the seat of the car and stayed close to Grant. He seemed to be the only voice of reason right now. "Where are you sleeping tonight?"
"It's one delay. We have fuel now, we'll make good time tomorrow," Grant said stepping back to let her slide out. He was glad she was cooperating, he didn't want to have to go back to the group without her. It wouldn't look good, he thought of her as a leader, and that's what they needed right now, a leader. "We have all the time in the world now, we'll get there when we get there. There will always be delays."
He turned to see what she was looking at. There were shops, apartmens above a few. "We should grab the sleeping bag from the sporting good store, dispense them evenly. The apartments would be good, maybe take over two of them. Limit how spread thin we are, that way if we have an attack, stumbler or otherwise, we can fight together."
He watched her slide out and felt her close to him. When she asked where he was sleeping tonight he just looked at her. "I was going to set up on the roof, keep watch. Why do you ask? Wanting to keep me company," he said with a smile. "I think I saw Luca head off that way." He looked down at the ground. "Let's grab those sleeping bags, I'll worry about sleeping later."
In Aron's mind, the situation was completely unnecessary and pointless. A lot of its fault was to do with Dexter, if he hadn't talked his mouth off, there would be no situation. But it could have been dealt with in a completely different way which didn't result in Dexter's face being a bloody mess.
He looked toward Grant and Riker, he agreed with Grant. From the way he spoke, he could imagine Grant being the voice of reason, he had a similar mindset to Aron, which he liked. The rest of the group virtually didn't react, at least Grant had moved in and tried to improve the situation, he'd expect him to be an asset to the group. Aron laughed when Riker suggested that Dexter was a spy, he might have been but if he had he'd been doing an exceptional job at hiding it.
"Course he ain't a spy, been with me and Sasha the whole time, don't think the kid's even got a radio."
Both Riker and Grant were right, it would be much better to rest up for the night and head out in the morning. Grant asked him to take care of Dexter and not let Riker at him, to which he nodded. It was good to see that Grant trusted him, Aron felt the same about him.
"You can count on me, ain't nobody gonna get to him."
Aron knelt down next to the knocked out Dexter, looking upon his bloody face, it was a mess. Maybe the good thing to come out of the fight would be that Dexter would learn when to shut his mouth. Aron reached his arms out to pick up his body, he then looked back to Grant.

"You should get some rest." She knew he had just been through a lot, even before they all left. He had to fight off Adolphus and his group and run before even catch up with her and her group. He had been up and moving since before the sun came up.
She shut the door and slipped her hands and the keys into her pockets as she looked to where Grant was saying Luca went.
"Yea, he probably went to cool off."[/b] She shrugged not really knowing. He never really let her in too deeply. They knew things about each other, but only the surface was scratched. With simplicity came too much complexity. Moving towards the sporting goods store, she looked at Riker who was walking back to his new girlfriends to find a place to sleep for the night. She kept her voice low as she spoke.
"I ain't really tired. I'll join you to keep watch. Why don't you get Anthony settled in somewhere. Make sure everyone has a place to rest while I get the sleeping bags. Clear out them stores and apartments and make sure no walkers are locked up in the closets."[/b]
If he thought of her as some kind of leader then she supposed she would at least try to act like one. For tonight at least. Once they got to New Orleans, she had her own agenda.

Amateur Walker Slayer Who Needs To Dial It Down A Bit

Damon stubbed a smoke out on some concrete. He had watched everything unveil and he wasn't happy with any of it. Just his opinion but you don't waste energy beating a pain in the ass anymore. Either live with it or kill it. He had his gun still holstered and grabbed a blanket from inside his pack. He was weak, tired and a bit hazy headed. He was still walking around but had his blanket around him and beneath his hand near his gun at the ready.
Grant looked at aRemy and nodded after what she said. "You're right. You get the sleeping bags, then meet everyone back in dinner. I'll get everyone in their, and make sure it's safe. We may want to have a few of us in the general store beside it. I think Aaron had checked it out before, so it should be cleared. That sound good? You can help me keep watch once everyone is safe."
He walked toward the group away from Remy. "You may want to check on Luca," he said looking at her, "we may need him to help set up some defenses." He turned and walked back to the rest of the group. He saw Riker had walked off so just looked at Aaron. He pointed to were Dexter laid in the ground. "Why don't you move him in the general store, have Damon and Anthony help you if you need it. You had cleared the Store before, so it should be safe."
Grant looked at the others, he hadn't cought the new girls name. If she had said it to him he had forgotten. "Can you and your brother help me clear the diner. There looks like there could be an apartment above it, so it would work good for us. We think we will stay the night, move out in the morning."
He decided he could use this time to adress the group as a whole, while they were all still here. "Take in thing of value with you. After both places have been cleared we should move the fuel, guns, and any food inside with us. Keep it safe. After that we should split up the group between the two buildings, spread out, but not spread thin." He looked at Sam, then Riker, and Damon. "If anyone has any objections then speak up now. Remy is searching for sleeping bags. We will all have one, it will get cold out here once the sun goes down."
Aron listened to Grant and nodded when he was told what to do. That seemed like a reasonable idea, the place was cleared out and there was no walker threat in there.
"Aight, cool. Place is fine, we cleared it, ain't no undead in there."
Aron crouched down and slowly picked up Dexter's body. He picked him up, one hand supporting his legs and one on his back. He didn't need help, Aron was expecting him to be heavier but he was quite light.
He was at the building now, Aron climbed the stairs. He saw two dead walkers on the bed, he'd clear them off the bed in a minute. Gently, he placed Dexter down next to the side of the bed, Aron sat down next to Dexter with his head looking up, against the wall. He just wanted to take one minute to rest, it had been an exhausting day.
Sasha watched as the entire scene unfolded, she had seen it coming for a long time, Dexter kept running his mouth off until someone got really pissed with him. She thought the punch was uncalled for but reckoned it was good for the lad, maybe Riker had finally knocked some sense into him, teach him to learn when to stop.
She listened to the discussion, apparently they were going to stay for the night, didn't bother her, as long as nobody troubled her. Sasha looked as Aron began carrying Dexter toward the store and then back to Grant.
"Anything you want me to do Grant?"

Riker put a few things back in the saddle bags as he looked at Sam who seemed to think they are all psychos. "Join the club sister. You're with us now." She looked like she was relaxing into the pills she popped and he shook his head. She would need a place to sleep soon and staying the night was probably the best idea for them all.
Grant came back after fishing Remy out of the SUV and suggested a plan that worked for him.
"I'll take Sam, Skyy, the baby and Brodie. We can clear out that shop and sleep as a group." He pointed his gun towards what looked to be a little gift shop that had jewelry in the window. He figured he was with women who could appreciate little things like that.
"I don't need a sleeping bag, but the girls do." He had his own roll that he used outside and it had plenty of wear and tear on it. He started towards the little gift store with his gun in hand, ready to clear out any walkers that may be hiding behind closed doors.

She watched Grant as he turned his back to her, heading back to the group to give them the news about getting settled in for the night. Both her and Luca caught a good night's sleep already so it seemed only fair the others could get their sleep in. Especially Anthony and Grant. But Grant wanted to keep watch instead of actually rest. Everyone could choose their resting places first then she would find a spot to settle in, even if that meant just sleeping in the SUV. Luca had completely disappeared,w hich made her sigh. Wherever he had gone off to was none of her business, although she really wasn't sure. How many times had he chased after her? Was she supposed to go after him? She suddenly found herself at a little crossroad as she turned back towards the store. Maybe he went back inside to cool off, and not from the weather. "Luca? You in here?"
She stepped back inside the store as she started back towards the camping gear to get those sleeping bags. She really didn't know how much she would find, but hopefully there would be enough to keep a few comfortable. Hopefully the baby would get a good night's sleep in.
"We shouldn't spread any thinner than we need to," Grant said to Riker. He had already asked the new girl, who Riker Called Skyy, and her brother to help him with the dinner. Grant was hoping they could find food, water, something usefull inside. Riker told them to follow him to the jewlery store. Unless Riker wanted some ear rings it was pointless. They needed to survive, not run a fashion show.
Grant didn't say anythig though, he wasn't going to argue with the biker right now. He watched Aaron drag th unconscious Dexter to the general store. He assumed Damon and Anthony would go with him but didn't check on the two. Instead he turned and saw Remy head in to the sports store, to get the gear in there. He hoped Luca would be in there, to help her.
Sasha had spoken up and Grant looked at her. "You should either help Aaron inside, or you can help me clear the diner. It seems Skyy and her family won't be helping me, Riker wanted to go window shopping. If you don't want to do that, you can go help Remy with the sleeping bags. We need help with both, checking for food and gathering the bags to sleep."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
