Dakota took the gist from Shadow, and rolled her way to Ash. She called to him once she was a safe few feet away, "Papa Bear. Papa Bear, I got the cart ready." Koda spoke up to let him know were she was and that was safe... relatively. Being a little girl, she hadn't survived this long by rushing to the front lines. She knew when to hang back out of the way, and when to give the little cover she could.
As soon as Ash was ready, she turned and followed Tori and Shadow out the door. Dakota got behind the cart to get it going again. She rested her youth rifle in her hands up over the top of the cart, turning it into slow rolling cover. The RV seemed so far off, partly because of the crawling speed she had the cart gliding at. Also because she was not in a hurry to rush into the middle of the walkers Kiku, Lilly and Tori were taking care of. That's why she held fire until she was a little over half way there. Three of her remaining six shots took down two more walkers.
Clementine was relieved to see the others finally returning, she hadn't even noticed how much she was worried about leaving them behind too until she let out that sigh. She used two or three more shots to help Kiku and the others mop up the last of the walkers immediately around the RV. It was clear for now, but Clem knew they'd be lucky if this break lasted even a minute before the undead dregs of post-apocalyptic society would crawling out all over them.
She back away from the doorway to make room for anyone coming back in. At Mark and baby Lee's side, though her gun was still held at the ready. For a moment she had thought Tori to be Tala come to find them, but some thought away from the recent chaos outside cleared that confusion away. Clem glanced up to Mark, ”I think found someone in there, because there was a lady. I... don't know who she is, but she was helping Lily and Kiku.”
Once trouble was temporarily cleared away, Dakota sailed the cart the rest of the way to the RV. She began urgently unloading the shopping baskets and clothes into the open door. ”How long before more come back? We found some clothes, food and stuff.”
Placing his gun into it's holster Ash quickly moved to the RV with Dakota, Tori, and Shadow. Pulling out the bolts from the walkers the texan kept looking for more walkers. "I don't know Bunnicula. But We shouldn't stick around to find out." Ash reached into the pocket on his jacket and threw the RV keys to Lilly. "You drive this time I need to sleep."
Shadow standing near the girl watched Ash. He let out a happy moan as Lilly patted his head before walking inside. "You're welcome to come with Tori but don't expect a full meal anytime soon." Ash offered Tori as he kept his crossbow in his arms. "But I gotta warn you. Mark says these girls cheat in games then say its Hella fair."
Lilly panted the machete dripped with walkers blood and brains as she wiped the blade off on the trailer next to the RV. Catching the keys Ash threw to her she nodded. "Alright. You'd better sleep this time." She knew he'd stay up to either play with the children or his stupid dog.
Climbing back into the RV Lilly handed the blade back to Mark. "Thank you." The biker took it back with a nod. "Don't mention it."
Tori took a breather and brought the bat up to her shoulder as she looked at the rest of the group and then settled her eyes on Logan.
“Guess I could always chew on my arm if I get hungry,” she joked.
The redhead only chuckled about the girls cheating at games.
“Really now?”
Tori climbed into the RV after Lily and looked at the others inside. Eyes coming across the biker, the baby, and then finally the other girl around Dakota’s age with a gun in her hand. Interesting group. The biker reminded Tori of her dad back home. She frown without realizing it at the thought as she cleared away from the doorway so the others could get in. Her gaze returning to Clementine.
Kiku was the last to climb into the RV, she shut the door behind her before climbing up into the nest above the driver seat. She sat above the group looking at her sword wondering what method she was going to use this time to get walker blood and guts off it this time. She settled on her pants leg, shrugging it off because it was the the end of civilization so she wasn't looking to impress, nor was she planning to keep these jeans forever. Her weapon was more important. She put her sword away and got a little more comfy before pulling her book out of her bag and returning to it.
Dakota, hopefully with some help, got the cart unloaded into the RV. Time paramount as it was, how it was all organized could wait. Just get it in and out of the way. She collected her crossbow and bolt, along with her rifle, and sat back down on the bench.
She didn't relax until Kiku closed the door behind her. Letting out an audible sigh of relief, she smiled over to Clem, “We got some food and diapers for Lee..clothes and drawing stuff for us, food for everybody, and even Shadow! Plus.. I got two new pets! Wilbur and Templeton!”
It hit Dakota bit late when being accused of cheating. She glanced between Mark, Ash and Tori, ”Heeeeyy... we definitely don't cheat! And it is totes hella fair!” Shaking her head, she sticks her tongue out in general.
Koda made sure to reload her rifle as she settled in. After putting her knives crossbow and rifle away, she smiled to Clem, and dug out the bottle with the two cellar spiders. ”This one's Wilbur and this one is Templeton. You can tell because Templeton's legs are kinda longer. See? Uh, but I didn't find anything for Charlotte. Good thing black widows can go for awhile without food.” She set the bottle into her backpack so they could keep Charlotte's jar company.
Getting into the drawing stuff she found so she and Clem could divvy them up. Holding the packets of stickers she had collected made Dakota think back in her travels. Back in Florida, she had given out stickers to declare the misfits around her, part of her family. After she thought Ash dead before her eyes, it was just something she needed to do, had to do, because she still firmly believed what her Uncle Rob had instilled in her in the first months of the apocalypse. That was there was no survival without family, because you couldn't trust anyone else but family. Cruel reality had simply forced her to have a more flexible definition of family.
Now she felt like, with half the people being new to her, that they should be welcomed into her family too, if she was going to be depending on them for the time being. Dakota would have to do her best to convince Papa Bear and Mark that they still try and find the missing members like, Tala and Anthony, but that was no reason not to adopt those around her now.
She put away the new stickers, and took out an open packet from her pack. She still had some bug stickers left. Naturalistic in style, but whimsical in their bright colors not found in nature. She got up and peeled one off. Koda tipped her hat back to better see Tori, offering warm smile, and if allowed to, she gently smoothed the colorful bug sticker on the back of Tori's hand, ”Before my Aunt Debbie got sick again, turned and got everyone but me and little Max... Uncle Rob taught me that the only people you can trust now is family. Back there you proved you can be trusted... So... welcome to ours.”
Peeling another sticker, she climbed up onto the edge of the nest bed Kiku was in. If Kiku let her, Dakota would smooth a colorful bug sticker onto the back of her hand too. Smiling warmly, ”Thankyou. From what I saw, you are a big reason I still have a best friend. These days... I... don't know where I'd find another one. So.. thankyou...and welcome to our family.” Pretending not to tear up a little at the end, she tried to nonchalantly rub her eyes on the heel of her hand as she slid back down.
Turning to Lilly, she peeled one more colorful bug sticker. She applied it to the back of one of Lilly's hands if allowed, and smiled, ”I don't know if Clem got to talk to you yet, but she and I did some talking. And if she can let you back into her family, then I should too. Clem's family is mine.”
Clementine tried help Dakota with what she could in unloading the cart, but she also kept an eye out for danger out the door. She settled back on the bench with her drawing after all was in. Clem slipped her gun away. She would reload it later.
She glanced over to Dakota, listening to some of the things they found. Then Koda got to that part about new pets. Clem was about to question her about just how many more pets she was going to get. Then she overheard Ash saying something about how she and Koda cheat at games according to Mark. The only thing she could say in her defense was, ”I don't say hella.”
Clementine turned her dark, young eyes up to Tori, not quite sure if that bit about her hat was a compliment or not. Clem went with compliment, and grew a smile, ”Uh.. thanks. My dad gave it to me.” She adjusted her hat, feeling along the brim, as if to make sure it was still there. ”I'm Clementine. It's nice to meet you.”
When Koda got around to showing off her new pets, it didn't surprise Clem much that Wilbur and Templeton turned out to be spiders. ”Of course they're spiders.” Shaking her head, she guessed those stories Dakota hadn't told her about all the animals she used to bring home wasn't an exaggeration after all.
Clem settled in on eh bench, getting back to finishing up her drawing of Clay, Damon and Sarah. She put some of the new markers to use in filling out the background.
Climbing into the RV Ash let out a sigh of relief seeing everyone was safe. He stayed standing as Lilly started up the RV. It rolled out from behind Wal-Mart and was back on the road. Looking at everyone he saw tired faces. Shadow nudged his owners hand forcing him to pet the dogs head. "Alright everyone listen up."
Ash didn't raise his voice but he didn't need to in the tiny RV. He placed his hat on the counter over the sink and leaned on the counter. "Dakota's right. We're a family. So as a family we're taking a vote on where were headed next." Crossing his arms the Texan continued. "If your choice didn't win tough shit."
"Before me and Lilly ran into you guys we we're headed west towards California." Ash stopped talking as she responded from the front of the RV. "We were gonna look for a boat or an aircraft. Anything to get away." Ash nodded. "That's one idea. Now I want everyone to put up their idea's before we vote."
Tori looked at the bug sticker now on the back of her hand and smiled. Looked like she's been officially added to the group.
“Thank you.”
The constant use of hella reminded Tori of the South Park episode where Carmen kept saying it. She was about to make the reference, but figured it'd go over the girl's head given her age. Unless she was one of those naughty children who watched adult cartoons she wasn't supposed to, or her parents just didn't give a shit if she watched it. Tori let out a quiet chuckle when Clementine defended herself by saying she didn't use the word.
“Tori,” she replied to Clementine after introducing herself. Tori's attention turned to Ash when he started talking about where they all wanted to go next.
“Might be worth checking out the airports on the way if you want a plane. I'm looking for my friends. I'll go where you go until then. I was interested in finding this 'Remy' person Ash was telling me about back inside the store. Ash said she was interested in a cure.”
Not that she was expecting a cure or anything, but if Remy was interested in one then maybe she knew more about how the walkers came to be. How else would you make a cure if you didn't know the cause? It was a curiosity she wanted settled.
Clementine glanced up from her drawing, and jumped in on the mention of Remy. ”That's why I still want to go Colorado. It's the best place to find Tala and Castle, and maybe even Anthony. If we're lucky Remy might still be with Anthony too.”

Dakota listened in, her attention drawn to Ash. Time to figure out where to go from here. Continuing west sounded good, but on the other hand, she didn't want to give up on a reunion with Tala or Anthony either. She frowned, setting down the drawing supplies she had been sorting through. ”I still think we could make some place like Alcatraz or my uncle's old cabin safe.. but... I don't think we should give up on finding Tala or Ant-nerd either Then again maybe finding just one place to stay would make it easier for them to find us...if they can.”.
Kiku looked down at her hand, not saying anything. She didn't know what to stay. Ash spoke about where they should go, she remained silent again. Thinking back to how things ended at that hotel, it was best for them to chase after their friends. If things got to be too much she could always leave, like she usually does. Besides, she wasn't heading in any general directions, she was wandering the country from the East to the West coast looking for her fiance.
"I'm with Clem. We should keep going to Colorado. Atleast we'd be around people we can trust." The baby started to get fussy as the biker rummaged in the diaper bag. "We also have little Lee here to. That's another factor we have to consider."
“There's no reason we can't make Colorado into a pit stop at least,” Tori noted. “It's not that far off from California anyway.”
Tori wasn't sure what kind of a settlement the lost members of this group had there, but if it turned out to be up shit creak they at least had the California plan to fall back on. Tori wondered what the weather in Colorado was like this time of year. She's never been there. The redhead's attention turned to the baby when he started to make noise.
“Yeah, someone that age growing up needs a community. Or whatever remnants of a community you can rebuild in a world like this.”
Ash stood thinking for awhile before he started to talk again. "Alright then. We're going to Colorado to find our friends." Ash pushed off the counter placing a hand on Dakota's and Clementines heads pushing their hats over their eyes as he walked to the front of the RV. "We're going to Denver." He told Lilly who let out an irritated grunt.
Moving back to the RV As sat behind the table and leaned back. Shadow stood up and moved over to his master. Placing his head by Ash's hand he let out a groan letting him know he was there. Ash started to pet the dog as he started to drift off to sleep. Silently he preyed that they could find a place to call home for a long time.

Dakota sat quietly as they drove off. There was some relief in knowing they would finally reach Colorado. She hoped to find family left behind... maybe a place safe from crazy people with guns. This is what she had wanted, but some part of her was afraid of what they would find... or wouldn't find up in Colorado.
After checking on her pets, new and old, she put them away, and tried to settle in to read. Koda just couldn't get into her books, so she put them away to try drawing. She could only stare at the blank paper... would they find all she dared to hope they would up in Colorado? Or would it just be another detour to nowhere.
Clementine smiled when it seem settled. Anthony And Tala and Vivian and Castle woud all be up there. She hoped some of them would be They were going to need all the help they could get with baby Lee around.
She took stock of the stuff Ash and the others had brought back from the Wal-Mart, glad they had found something more for baby Lee. She planened on going over the clothes along the way. For now she help sort out the drawing materials Koda had collected, and settled in to finish off her drawing,
Glancing between new friends like Kiku and Tori, and old friends like Ash and Dakota..and even older friends like Lilly, she couldn't help but be hopeful for whatever might be ahead. A little she thought to share with Dakota by offering to start a whole new drawing that both of them could work on together.
So it was decided, they were headed to Colorado. Lilly didn't sound too happy by the sound of it. She reminded her of her Lily. That was kind of creepy since they shared a name. One guy reminded her of her father, and the other her best friend. Tori didn't know how to feel about that.
The redhead went over an empty space along the bench and sat down, laying her bat down next to her as she pulled out the 3DS from her jacket. She put the game she found from the bin they had in the Wal-Mart and started playing Mario on it, keeping an eye on the battery. It was fully charged, but once that battery went out she'd have no way to play it anymore unless she found a charger somewhere, and that seemed unlikely. For now, Tori would have to savor the time she had left with this thing. It was the last remnants of what she used to do before the world went to hell.
