Ellen kicked and pushed them off, switching in between knee kicks and high punches. If they got within reach, she'd stab them in the head and they'd stay down. Unfortunately they kept coming and Ellen kept fighting them off ferociously, until finally... she was bitten.
"Fuck!" Ellen screamed. "Ugh, goddammit!"
It had stopped. The 'walkers' she had fought off were actually some of her guards dressed in sports gear, the 'knife' she used for stabbing was a dull carved knife for kids to play with and the 'bite' she had received was one of her guards being able to bring his face towards her arm, which ended the little simulation they were running.
"How many did I get this time?" Ellen asked Charlie, who did the count.
"Thirteen, four more than last time." Charlie answered. "Good job hon!"
Even though it was a nice result, Ellen knew that eventually she'd buy it she had to go up against a horde with a meleeweapon. Her strong suit was marksmanship, not CQB and hand-to-hand combat. She was a sniper, not a brawler. Still, this type of training was necessary. There was no telling when you'd get grabbed by a walker and if that happened you needed to be able to fight it off.
After being the first one to go, Ellen turned to her guards along with the other people who had turned up for the training. Although it was mandatory for the guards, everyone within the camp was welcome to partipate.
"Okay, who's next?" Ellen ask the crowd, wondering who'd volunteer to get attacked by 'mock' walkers.
