Dannie, along with Sterling and Nate made it back to the cabin as Emre stumbled inside. Both she and Nate knew what the truth behind Sterling's bloodied look was, but anyone else may think he was attacked outside and that would be on her watch. Dale and Skylar were standing outside keeping watch and as she approached, she offered the kid a smile. However, he didn't smile back. Instead, his gaze stayed locked on the woods as three walkers stumbled through the leaf-strewn hillside. "Shit. Get inside guys. We'll take care of them when they get closer."
She opened the door and stepped into the cabin not feeling totally comfortable that they cleared the perimeter and now there seemed to be more walkers coming their way. Worst part was, there was someone totally new in the house.
"Who's that?"
She looked at Jacob as she came in and settled her knife back into her pocket. The medical supplies were getting arranged by Liz and Mia, but there seemed to be something more going on.
"We didn't finish the perimeter check. What's going on?"
Nate walked with Dannie and Sterling back to the cabin. The others would question if Sterling was bit, why he was bloodied. Nate expected them to. He would back him up, defend what they had to say. Sterling wasn't bit, he didn't even knownif the man had gotten hurt out there. He looked at the pair as he walked. He wondered what they would think of Jacob, if they would let him stay. Jacob had saved his life, yet he doibt Dannie would let just anyone join their new group.
As they walked to the cabin Nate could make out Emre running inside and closing the door. He walked past Dale who had two guns drawn. Nate saw Dannie wasn't going to stop, so he didn't stop eiter. Instead he climbe the steps to the cabin and went in after Dannie. The woman asked who Jacob was and he gave a brief answer.
"He saved my life, and Hykeem's. We are letting him stay the night and giving him a meal," he didn't give time to answrr instead just like at Mia. "She's right, we had to come back. There were walkers in the barn, they Attacked us. Fin. Fin is dead." Nate move to the window to check on Dale. He saw te walkers an turned to the rest.
"We have company," he called out, "walkers coming toward the cabin. Where's Hykeem?"
Nate moved back from the window, "Jacob are the guns still in the truck," he asked. The other man shook his head and motioned to the bundle he brought in. Nate went over to it and undid the straps. He grabbed a rifle, "every needs to take one. Arm yourself and get ready."
Nate stepped back out and went down to Dale. "Where's your father, he still in the truck," he said to the boy. "Quick let's all get inside, your friends by the truck, Hykeem, Veran, eveyone."
As he was catching his breath, Mia asked him what had happened. God, where to start? He died down his heavy breathing so he could answer her question. "I was in the woods with Lyndsie, we where collecting berries and nuts, but a bunch of biters attacked us. I took out a few of 'em, but there was too many so I grabbed the food and ran back here" he said, informing them on what happened. "I'm not bitten and I'm not sure where Lyndsie is". Emre took the food that he had placed in a bag and put the bag down on the floor. It was all the food they'd collected during the time they were there.
He continued to watch after he had spoken. Nate came in and starting speaking about some Jacob guy, Emre didn't have clue who that was, a lot seemed to have happened in the time he was gone. Soon after that, Nate looked out of the window and mentioned biters approaching the cabin. Emre quickly looked and recognised a few, those were the ones that attacked him and Lyndsie. "Those are the biters from the woods, must've followed me back here". Emre had quicly gotten his breath back and stood up straight, the biters wouldn't go away without a fight and it looked like they'd have to give them one. Emre would probably have a job during this attack, so he waited for instructions to be given to him.
Hykeem who was alone cleaning the garage out heard what sounded like Nate calling his name before he grabbed his rifle and ran from the garage. The young Lad walked from the garage only to see the commotion was over a group of walkers. The man stood listening to the rest Nate had to say before he made his way to the stairs of the cabin."Well?" The man spoke positioning his rifle at the top of the stairs before firing bullet into a walkers head. "Don't you dare go towards my car!" The man spoke again releasing another bullet from the chamber with a laugh. "That's two."

Everything happened so fast. As Jake and Mia waited for Emre to answer, Dannie walked back inside with Nate and Sterling. She asked question about the newcomer, but Nate seemed to have that covered. But Jake his attention was drawn back to Emre as he finally spoke. He explained how they got attacked by walkers, luckily he wasn’t hurt or bitten. The negative side was that he lost Lyndsie.
Just then Nate yelled out they had company. He told the group to grab some guns. Jake nodded and rushed over to the weapons. He heard how Emre said that they probably followed him. “Well not a smart plan to lead them here, but I’m just glad you are ok.” Jake said softly. "When things are calm, we should go looking for Lyndsie." he added softly. He grabbed two handguns, since he was more comfortable with using those. After that he placed one in the holster on his belt and kept the other one in his hand. With his free hand he grabbed his katana from the holster on his back. Now he was ready for a fight. He followed Nate outside, since Mia and Liz were safe with Emre now.
He stood next to Nate as he walked over to Dale. He heard how he told everyone to get inside. “He is right, it’s easier to keep each other safe there.” Jake said. Then he pointed his gun at a walker that was getting closer. He missed his first shot, but the second one made sure it fell down. “We better hurry too.” Jake added.
Then Jake saw how Hykeem made his way to the stairs and killed some walkers in the process. He smiled as Hykeem protected the cars. “That’s the spirit.” Jake said with a smile.
Mia stared at Emre and then stepped back. He looked scared, and he said he wasn't bitten. She had to take his word for it.
She instantly knew what had happened as others raced outside . He had let them straight to them! Mia glanced at Liz," we have company".
Mia moved to the door and looked out. Nate! Where was Nate? He had gone to find Sterling and Danny. She saw the people near the cars. Saw walkers fall and spotted Hy. They needed to get them inside. She needed them to come back. All she could do was wait. She wasn't a good shot, she needed more practice to be effective with a gun. This was what she hated the most. Sure she had medical training , but right now she hated how useless she was.
She looked out the window and saw two walkers to the north. They were shuffling through the leaves and coming downhill keeping their balance pretty well. She was hoping the mountains would be effective in keeping walkers at bay, but now it was apparent they would need something even steeper if they wanted to have leverage. She had her gun and her knife, but if there was a large horde behind all these others, she wasn't sure how effective she would actually be.
"Sterling, grab the shotgun. Liz, Mia, get upstairs and wait."
She looked at Nate who was trying to get a handle on the other guns that were in a truck outside. She didn't want to waste their firepower, but she wasn't sure if they even had a choice. Running outside and trying to take down a horde with knives seemed foolish, but firing off more shots seemed like a great way to attract more.
"Atlanta is only a few hours south of here. If they came from the city I'm not sure how many more could be behind these."
She was trying to keep a low profile as she looked at the walkers getting closer. She was hoping if they kept still, they would pass on by, but there had been too much noise and fresh blood is what they sought. She had to think quickly now and she wasn't sure if she was going to make the right decision or not.
"Nate, Hykeem, everyone. Grab your guns and let's get to the second floor. There's rooftop access and balconies that wrap around. Let's take positions there and take them out from a safe distance."
Of course, if more showed up, they would be screwed. They wouldn't be able to get to their cars and take off quickly. She was hoping maybe someone else had a better suggestion, but for now, all she could think about was staying as far away from the horde as she could.
Nate held his rifel out in front of him, and aimed it down at the walkers. He didn't fire though, instead just turned to Dannie. "I agree with you. Gun fire will draw them here. Even if we defeat this group, there will be more. Unless we have a way to stop it, they will keep coming with every shot." He heard gunfire, he assumed it came from Veran or Hykeem. "Well it's to late now."
Nate moved back from the window and turned to move upstairs. "Let's go people, while we still can. You heard Dannie, upstairs, grab any weapon you can." He wouldn't go up until he made sure all the others were up first. Once Mia, Liz, Dale, and everyone were safe, he would follow. For now he just aimed his rifel out the window, firing at any Walker that stepped close.
He looked at Dannie again. "Why don't we just run to the trucks. Get the hell out of dodge. If we keep drawing more near, we may just have to escape it. If we run now, no one might get hurt." He could see the hoarde surround the trucks, small patches open as the moved toward the cabin. "There may be to many of them to fight. We need to do something fast."
Mia was shocked by all this. Too much happening. She though, hoped they would be safe away from the cities, but aparently not. She wondered, were the zombies leaving the cities , searching for food. If that was the case, this was a bad sign.
Dannie said for her and Liz to go upstairs, but Mia looked at Nate. She didn't want them to separate. If they did and things went badly, she didn't want to lose him. She grabbed Liz's hand ,"We need to get the supplies safe." They would need those medical supplies. She looked at Nate, "I'm not going anywhere without you, understand?" She grabbed a box in her good arm, and looked at the loft. They had started to stash some things up there, shit. "Can't we blockade down here, " she wanted to just leave, run, but the dead were near the vehicles, "Can someone pick off the close ones and get us a chance to go for the cars, then say jump from the balcony into the back of the truck?" she didn't wanna leave anyone behind either. Her mind was going a mile a minute, and she looked around the room. Where was everyone, Hykeem, Dale? Who was still outside?

Everything happened so fast. Jake and Nate were working on getting everyone to safety. Jake heard how Dannie yelled and gave them orders. He just nodded in her direction, to let her know he would do the best to protect everyone. Another part of his brain was worrying about Veran, was he safe? And Dale, he had to keep that kid safe. Jake just shook his head and got his attention back on the situation at hand. “You all heard Dannie, to the second floor!” Jake yelled.
More walkers came down, Jake joined Nate at the window and did his best to shoot them, but a lot of his bullets missed, it wasn’t all negative though, he was able to get a few down. “Dammit I need to practice on that.” He said with a little smile as he looked at Nate.
Just then Jake heard how Nate wanted to go for the truck. “That might not be a bad idea, we can’t lose anyone here, but few of the group are still outside, Hykeem, Dale and Veran for example.” Jake said a little worried. Then Mia said to Nate she wouldn’t go anywhere without him. “Don’t worry dear, I’ll watch his back and not in a bad way.” Jake said with a wink jokingly, trying to comfort Mia, she was one of his closest friends in the group, so he needed to make sure she would get to safety.
Everyone was trying to come up with plans, Mia also said to make a run for it. “Like I said it might be an option.” Jake said as he turned to Dannie.

Hykeem really didn't know what was going on inside of the cabin. For now the Lads main priority was keeping those Walkers away from his friends and his car. The Young Man still stood in the same place he had before quickly syncing into a rotation that allowed for easier reloading although He was running out of ammo fast. Hykeem looked down as he reached for more ammo to reload before he decided He would need to get inside with everyone else. The Lad reloaded his weapon and with the pull of the trigger began taking out the beast in front of him first. The Lad continued to walk backwards before he reached the doorway opening with his left hand before firing one last time and entering shutting the door behind him. As the Man Entered the room He looked around to check for anyone who was missing. At first he didn't notice anyone but as He stood for awhile he noticed the Pirate and his son both gone.
Nate made the suggestion of just getting in their cars and driving off. But if they were to do that, they would have to do it now and that meant leaving behind critical supplies, including everything Liz and Mia had brought in for medical care. The decision was getting harder and harder to make. Mia was injured and Sterling had only just gotten back on his feet. To flee or to fight..although that fight may not come.
She looked between Nate and the others as she started up the stairs, pausing for a moment and hoping she was making the right decision.
"No more shots to be fired. We lock the doors, we get upstairs and we stay quiet. Let them pass and hope they just move on. If we have to fight, use knives instead of guns."
She went up a few more steps and waited for everyone else to follow suit.
"With any luck, this will pass. It will pass. I'd rather take my chances here then try to hit the road again. We need this."
"You think they'll just pass. Theres's been enough shot already to draw them here. They know where we are. The walkers will just keep pushing against the door until it breaks. I've seen them take down fences and old walls. They just keep piling up. When that happens we'll be stuck up stairs. Are best option is to move to the trucks. We have enough people, we can pick them off until everyone is loaded into the cars. Who ever isn't shooting can load what supplies they can carry. Then we drive off," Nate said to Dannie, "I don't think we'll make it any other way."
He looked out the window, "there's still people out there. Dale, The two kids he was with. Veran's out there, and that girl who found is today. If we are locking the doors then we do it now. I don't want to leave those people, but we may have to. That's why we are best to run. By the time everyone is inside it will be to late." He looked up the stairs. "We need to do something fast though. I don't want to hide, and we can't fight. We should run. Put it to a vote like before."
Mia stared around at all the faces . Was everyone serious? Nate especially! A vote, a fucking vote, really? She moved away from Nate and looked at Dannie, then went to the door," Nate give me the keys, everyone in here grab medical supplies and the rest and head upstairs, I am gonna get the truck and move it closer. If we need to bolt it will be close enough that we can get to it if we jump down from the second floor. " she don't wanna get trapped here. How dis they know they would pass by, how did they know this wasn't just some kind of migration for these fucking things? Food ran out in the towns and they started moving like animals, birds, some kind of instinct thing? She held her hand out to Nate," keys! Come on, we are running out of time!" She opened the door and stood on the porch. God she was crazy. She saw the bling dead moving closer and closer to the cabin. No way they were gonna pass by.

All of the sudden there seemed some disagreement between Dannie and Nate. Dannie her idea was to stop firing guns and use knifes instead, she hoped that the zombies would pass, when they didn’t hear any noise. Nate immediately shot down that idea and Jake had to admit that he was right. Nate his idea, was that part of the group kept killing zombies while the others grabbed the supplies, which wasn’t a bad idea. Then another point Nate made, was that locking the doors was a bad options since many of their group members were still outside. “Nate is right, we can’t lock them out.” Jake said rather stern. There was no way he would let anyone just outside to die, he knew Dannie didn’t mean it like that, but he just had to agree with Nate.
Then Nate talked about a vote. “Voting takes extra time, which we don’t have, someone just decide already.” Jake said. It was Mia who decided their next move, she ordered the group to either take supplies upstairs or just go upstairs and she would get the truck. “You shouldn’t go out there alone, I’ll join you and cover you.” Jake said with a smile as he looked at Mia and joined her outside.
The options were laid out on the table. Nate wanted to run and she wasn't exactly sure what Mia was going to do with that busted arm. She thought hard and for probably too long when Jake spoke up and said he would cover Mia. It gave her an idea. She still had Sterling's patrol car and that was enough to do what she knew she needed to do.
"No, stop. I have an idea. Mia, get what you can out of the truck and you all stay put. I'm going to lure them away. If I can get enough away from the cabin, we have a shot. Any stragglers left behind? Kill them all."
She was dead serious as she said that, looking right at Nate. She knew this may be their only shot at this point.
"I'll be okay. Just trust me on this."
She still had the keys in her pocket and there were options for her. If she could drive them far enough away, she could get back. If she couldn't then she would just have to keep going and hope she could eventually find her way back. There were no ifs, ands or buts about it. The police siren was going to come in handy now.
"Just...stay safe. Stay inside. Lock the doors."
With that said, she moved back down the stairs, checking her gun and making sure she had plenty of rounds in it before she stopped and looked at Sterling. He was pleading with her not to go in his eyes, but it was the only way. She laid a hand on his shoulder and smiled wide like she did when she came straight out of the academy and became his rookie.
"I'll be right back. Keep everyone safe for me partner."
She slipped out the back door, making sure to lock it behind her as she sought the best laid path to the patrol car. She saw them breaking through branches and pushing through the brush with hungry faces ready to tear into their flesh. She couldn't move slow now. This was a job that had to be done quick and easy and when she jumped into the car through the passenger side, she roared up the engine and pulled forward. She revved the engine to get their attention and slowly started to roll down the long, gravely driveway. Stopping every few feet, she would rev the engine again before getting to the bottom of the driveway and doing what needed to be done. The sirens were turned out and they blared loudly, echoing between the mountains. Everyone within miles would hear it, including the walkers. She was going to draw them away.
"You're not going out there," Nate said to Mia, "you were just shot. Let me do it." He wasn't gong to hand over the keys, that would not happen. Jake stepped up to go with her an he looked at him. He was glad that she would be covered, but it still wasn't going to happen. They both agreed, the others remaining quite. Ony Dannie disagreed.
Jake brought up the vote, aparently everyone had enough time to argue and disagree with voting, but couldn't say simply stay or go. Ultimately they did vote, enough people spoke up about leaving. So leave they would.
Dannie then spoke up about louring the walkers away. Nate looked at her. "Isn't that to dangerous?" She said she would be fine, but it was a big risk.
"Stay safe. We'll move fast and wait for you. What cars do we have. There's the cruiser and the truck. Hykeem has his, as does Jake. I can cover the truck while everyone carries what ever supllies we can. Throw it all one back, and let's go."
He moves through the open door, raising his rifel to shoot.
Mia stared at Dannie as she moved past her. She was one brave woman. She stood and watched as she drove off hearing the siren. He'll anyone in a ten mile radius was hearing that thing. It seemed to echo off the mountains. Nate said to get stuff and go," she shook her head," Dannie said to stay here, she is luring them away, we take care of any that don't take the bait." Mia looked out and watched the dead moving. They were following her, most of them. A few stragglers were still coming towards the cabin," I think it's working. We get rid of these few and then barricade this place but keep and escape route." She looked at those inside the cabin," let's pick these off and the. Go from there, she's buying us a chance, let's use it."

Jake watched Dannie as she spoke and before he could reply or do anything Dannie stepped out and executed her plan. He watched how she rushed to the car, got it and seconds later drove off with the siren ringing.
Jake then turned to Nate and listened. Nate then raised his shotgun. Jake didn’t agree with his plan.
“Don’t shoot them, it will lure them back, we’ll go out and kill them using knifes and other weapons that don’t make sound.” Jake said in a friendly way as he used his hand to push down Nate his rifle. “We can take care of them and then discuss our next step.” He said as he smiled at Nate. Then he turned to Mia as she also disagreed with Nate and told the group to pick off the remaining zombies. “You heard the girl.” Jake said and grabbed his combat knife from his belt.
Then he opened the door. “Let’s go.” He whispered. Then he carefully walked over to one of the walkers. He planted the knife inside its head. The zombie fell on the floor. “Next.” He said to himself but looked behind him to see who followed him, cause doing this on his own could be dangerous, always needed a few men to keep each other safe.
Dannie continued slowly down the driveway, luring them with the siren that she kept on until she reached the edge of the road. They moved slowly and it was kind of annoying. She was hoping to lure them quickly to their own deaths, but as slowly as they moved, it seemed like this would go on all night. She wanted to get them at least four miles from the cabin before she hit the gas and circled back around.
Once she cleared the house, she flipped the siren off, revved the engine and flipped it back on again. If anything, it would lure any stragglers out of the woods that may prove to be a threat to the cabin. She would do this for quite a while as she slowly rolled down the mountain pass, going over a small bridge that was meant for very little traffic. She found herself going deeper as the herd thickened.
