"I suppose it won't kill me to take it easy. No way in hell I'm staying in bed all day. I'll leave the heavy lifting to someone else though. Deal?"
He smiled as she helped him up. It wasn't neccesary, as he could easily get up now, but it was appreciated. She always seemed to default to taking care of him. He did wish that he was better already and that he could be putting in the work that others were doubtlessly doing as well but he had to admit that his body was just not up to that kind of exertion just yet.
"Though let's be honest. There are ways you could convince me to stay in bed... though they might not exactly be classified as 'rest'. I'm sure the nurse wouldn't want to risk my health like that, though I'm hoping the woman behind the nurse might be tempted."
He laughed. He was interested but he knew very well that his body was not ready for that. He did enjoy poking fun at Liz though, it was something he and his wife had done constantly, though that is to be expected when two cops get married.

Jake was so tired after all the traveling, after the talk with Veran they decided to stay wit hthe group for now so that was a big plus. He would have gone with Veran and Dale, but he would be sad about leaving Dannie and the others too. When they reached the spot, everyone was able to pick a room. Jake shared one with Dale and Veran, there was a room with a bunk bed and a normal bed for one person and lucky for them they got it. Veran was sleeping in the lower part of the bunk bed, Dale in the upper part and Jake in the other one. They all went to sleep since the trip took most of their energy.
When Jake got up the next morning Dale was gone and Veran was still sleeping. He got up and got dressed, he always slept in his boxers , so after getting a pants, sweater, socks and shoes he got up. He smiled as he saw the beautiful pirate sleeping. “Sleeping beauty hehe.” Jake whispered to himself.
Then he softly walked outside, closing the door behind him. He leaned against the wall next to the door and just stood there for a bit, Jake needed time to wake up. If anyone needed something they would come to him.
(Dale hope it’s ok I let them al share a room ) (Btw I tried to make an as good post as possible but it’s was hard for me to get some things so hope it’s alright ^^)

Liz looked at Sterling as he joked with her about ways to keep him in bed. She knew there was no way acts like that could happen for him, at least not yet. She was surprised he was so randy considering the journey he had just taken over the last month. She moved a little closer to him as they both sat up on the edge of the bed. The hand closest to him moved to his thigh as she leaned in a little bit.
"In good time, Sterling. I plan on making you wait, even after you're all patched up and ready, I'm going to make you wait."
It was deliciously evil, or so she thought. She wanted him to wait until there was no more time to wait. She wanted to make sure he was good and ready not just physically, but mentally as well. She smiled sweetly as she continued on.
"There is nothing more exciting then watching a man's expression when he wants something so bad he may just explode."
A bit of red came into her cheeks as she said that hoping she didn't give away a bit of her past by saying that. It was a past she hadn't told anyone except those that already knew and that was long before the outbreak nearly wiped out humanity.
Dale heard most of what Dannie said, but he cupped his ears after the first few words to hear her better. He actually went into somewhat of a trance as he imagined submerging himself into the cool waters of the river. Of course then he though of a zombie grabbing him from the floor of the waterbed. He chuckled slightly to himself, but knew thoughts like that wouldn't stop him from hopping in when he had time to. His current bedding arrangements weren't as he had liked, but he didn't complain. On his way there he had resolved himself to be friendlier towards Jake, so he had accepted the spot on the bunk bed.
Dale took notice of Finn raising his voice for him. It was a job in itself to hear people as nobody seemed to do that for him. As small a gesture as it had seemed, Dale really appreciated Finn doing that. "I see," he said to him, "I was just curious since I hadn't really been a part of the project, so I did not know what it could manage. I'd like to go with you to secure what we need to get it cool here. I've been kind of lazy since we arrived, so I need to get out and do my part again." He put his chin in his hand and thought for a moment, "I guess if it's alright we could see if anybody else has needs in town, and we could all tag along. More bodies potentially means more safety."
He looked up at Dannie and smiled rather awkwardly, "I don't mind the place so far, but I definitely plan to visit this river you speak of pretty soon. Maybe the whole group could go, and we could loosen up a bit. I don't know about anybody else, but this young back of mine feels stiff, so I can only imagine how the adults are feeling."
Emre laid there peacefully in his own bed in his own house. The man was confused, had everything just been a dream? Imagination? Perhaps, but was everything restored to usual? Emre got up from the bed and heard the sound of cooking, the smell was pretty clear as well. He didn't have a fucking clue who it was, but he'd have to find out. He went out of his bedroom and rushed down the stairs. He picked up the pace and headed for the kitchen and to his surprise, he saw his beautiful, alive wife stood there making breakfast. He was shocked, he took a good look at her to make sure she was real. "Honey?" he said with a growing smile. She looked at him and smiled, she didn't talk. He approached the woman and gave her a hug followed by a long kiss. But it was like something else was happening, his wife began to fade away along with the room then...
-------------
His eyes opened rapidly, he regained the breath he had lost from the shock. He sat up and saw he was in the cabin they had entered last night. Emre's face saddened, it was all just a drea... A fuckin' nightmare. His expression had quickly turned to anger, he constantly started to ask himself why it had to be a dream. He slammed his fist down on the matress to release some of the stress. From the sounds he could here outside, he was the last to wake up. He got up and out of the bed, approaching his clothes he had put in a neat pile. He began to get dressed, ready to go and do whatever shit task they had to do today for 'survival', Emre still wondered why he was surviving, he should just end it and get it over with. He went out of the door and prepared himself for whatever needed to be done.
"Front step should work. You can sit there, or the ground. Just don't come inside quite yet. Still need the groups full decision," Nate said pointing with the axe to the step leading to the cabin. He looked at his friend with the rifle, "want to keep an eye on here. Make sure she doesn't steal the truck or club anyone with the pipe. Not that you will right," he asked looking back at the women.
Nate quickly climed the steps to the cabin and went through the door. He looke at Mia and smiled, "sleep well," he asked moving past her, "I think I might actually dislike normal beds. To soft now."
He wlaked forawrd to where he saw Dannie. "Tiny problem," he said calmly, "there a women outside. I know you just woke up and probably want to stretch out but you're a cop maybe you'd want to question her. She has a steel pipe but it's lowered. Just a traveller. She says she's exhausted from walking. Seems innocent but it could be an act."
Mia stared out the window. She watched Nate and Hykeem coming towards the steps with a woman in tow. Nate came in and spoke to her. She glanced at him, and listened to his explain things to Dannie. She glanced around the room and the others. She had been listening, just staying quiet. She never was much of a morning person. She wanted to talk to Liz and see about setting up a medical area, if they were planning to stay very long. She heard what Finn had said about a generator and what Nate said about the female," well, could we check some of the gas stations nearby, see if any of them have an old generator we could use, or maybe some of these cabins nearby might have one?" She moved closet to Nate," you think Liz and I need to check this woman out, physically?" She glanced at Dannie. Yea, she was the cop, but she and Liz would be able to tell if there was something medically wrong with her.
He kissed her on the cheek and laughed. He knew that she wouldn't take him up on his offer so it had mostly been to tease her but she had flipped it around pretty damn quickly. He smiled. He was excited to find out what this woman really was behind her mask. Her comments this morning intrigued him.
"I find myself equal parts terrified and excited to find out what you mean by that Ms. Foster."
He rose out of bed and pulled his shirt on. He grabbed his jeans and pulled them on as well.
"Guess we should get downstairs and see what needs doing eh?"
The woman nodded and moved to sit against the beam on the last step of the porch for the cabin, setting the pipe beside her against the pipe so it really was lowered. She folded her knees against her chest with her legs crossed and her arms around them, exhaling softly as she was allowed off of her feet, even if for a tiny bit. She knew the caution the man was showing was understandable; she was a stranger, coming to the proximity of a group that seemed to be familiar with each other, and she had a weapon or two, even if puny compared to the guns they may have. Regardless, she relaxed on the step as agreed and just had her head turned from the door to stare out to the land and horizon in the distance. She sat her, earnestly waiting for the group to make their verdict, she would understand whichever decision they come to.
Dannie nodded and agreed with Finn. If they were going to stay here there was a lot of work to be done.
"I agree to that. Boarding up the windows is a good idea for safety, which is what I'm most concerned about. I found a barn across the road that has all kinds of things we can use. We could break it down if we need to and use the wood. Looks like it has stables in it that used to house some horses."
She thought about the barbed wire. There wasn't enough to secure around the house and it was only good enough against walkers, for a little while. Anyone with half a brain and a pair of wire cutters would get through it.
"I found some barbed wire in the barn. Maybe we can figure out a way to string it up on the outside of the windows. Why don't you take charge of that project Finn? Maybe take the kid with you?"
She smiled at the both of them as Mia came down and also spoke about getting a generator. The noise from generators made her nervous. She had never heard a quiet one in her life, although she was sure there had to be some. I'm sure living in a less populated area made having a quiet generator a better neighbor.
"Maybe you and Nate can go see? I saw a gas station at the foot of the mountain."
When Nate spoke about the girl on the porch, she narrowed her eyes and looked out the door. Instead of immediately pulling her gun out and questioning her like she did the others back in Colorado, she assumed Nate had the situation under control as he brought her right to their doorstep. She walked across the wooden floor and Lyndsie would hear her steps getting heavier and heavier as she approached. She saw the pipe laying on the steps next to the girl who was curled up on the step.
"So what's your name kid? What are you doing here?"
She would start with the simple questions first before grilling her. She knew they all had to get to work on securing this cabin first, which seemed to be in an ideal place. She knew Sterling wasn't in a place to work too hard without collapsing, so she was hoping to give him some easy work. The river was close enough to them that he could sit and go fishing which would contribute without much effort and she knew her former partner would not want to just sit around and heal. That was too easy for him.
Nate watched Dannie go out and question the women. He turned back to Mia, "she didn't seem hurt or bring in any concerns. She may be bit but it doesn't take a nurse to look for marks. You can examine her if you want. I was just more focussed on alerting everyone of her presence and getting someone to question her."
He paused an looked out the door, "she looks harmless, that doesn't mean she isn't though. She cooperated right away, but didn't really have a choice. The girl may be helpful in reparing the cabin. She looks strong, and as long as she can hold a hammer. I'll let Dannie finish questioning her, and then we can decide. I said its up to the whole group so everyone gets a say. Like the vaults we decide as a group, majority wins."
Mia watched Dannie walk outside to check out the new woman. She listened to Nate and then nodded," alright, I will wait." She glanced at Finn," hey I wanna ask you something, back at the camp I was from, we buried the generators. If Nate and I find one, is that possible around here , can you rig it with the solar panels to give it an extra boost?" She smiled at Finn, then looked at Dale," get my a all healed up and you need a hair cut." She pointed her fingers at him and made a snip snip gesture." Hell a lot of you guys could stand a bath and a good hair cut." She ran a finger down Nate's cheek and grinned at his stubble.
Mia wasn't sure about just her and Nate going looking for a generator, she couldn't exactly help lift the thing.
The woman looked up as she was questioned, taking her cap off to let her long, wavy dark-brown hair flow freely from her head as if to let it breathe and shook it free before looking up at the other woman that had just came to talk to her. "Kid?", though? Does she really look so...young? Regardless, she offered a small smile to the other woman and replied, not taking a liking to this woman's snarky attitude on her first impression, but it wasn't a deal breaker. "My name's Lyndsie. No need to tell me yours, because I have a feeling I won't be staying here long. And what am I doing here? I came here because I was walking for miles on foot with nothing to eat or drink for hours. All I need is a rest and I'll be on my way, I won't bother you all.", she said quietly.
"I like my hair," Nate said sticking out his tongue and smiling at her. "I cut it before we left. That was only a few weeks ago. If anyone needs to cut it would be sterling, but the other nurse can take care of that. It's one battle I defiently don't want to fight," he said putting an arm around Mia and squeezing her side. "I think we could both use a bath though, even you."
He looked at Finn and Dale, "we could find a generator. Other cabins mIght be the best place to look. Stores will be picked clean I would say. I was going to go hunting with Hykeem today. We need food and it would be good to catch up."
Finn appreciated Dale's pledge for help, but still he wouldn't take the boy without Veran's consent. Not that he didn't trust the kid to hold his own, it just seemed appropriate to do so. Hell, Veran could come too if he wanted. Getting building isolation wasn't hard or difficult work, seeing as most houses had it and people weren't in a rush to take it with them when shit hit the fan.
Dannie brought up stripping the barn and Finn figured that was a whole lot of wood that could be used, given they'd find at least four times the amount of nails to nail the boards, but something had to keep that barn together. If they could recuperate the nails from the barn that would be a plus. He didn't know about adding barbed wire though. As far as humans went it was effect but walkers would just entangle themselves in it and drag it along with them. But maybe if a fence could one day be built, it'd definitely be handy.
Mia mentioned a dug in generator and that was actually a good idea. They could maybe scavenge carpets or egg boxes to isolate the noise. Still, he didn't know about adding the solar panels to it. If it overloaded they'd set the whole damn forest on fire, and the solar panels were more or less meant as a back up anyway. But the main focus should be reinforcing the place for the time being, so that he could work at ease on the electricity. A run to the nearby towns would be necessary soon anyway.
"I'll do what I can of course." Finn said. "We should make a run in the nearby towns soon, start yanking isolation and cables outta the walls in nearby houses. Tarps, blankets, sheets, whatever we can find. We'll make this place look like a house in a shanty town, but at least a very cozy one!"
Finn leaned back on the couch and kicked his feet up on a nearby table, resting his hands behind his head.
"Well I'm good to go." Finn said. "Guess the wait now is just for the detective and nurse number two to stop dancing the horizontal mambo. No way in hell are you gonna trick me into believing it was this cabin creaking like that most of the night."
Before going through the door that lead to the other parts of the cabin, he heard a lot of talking. Emre did wonder on what was happening out there, had there been an encounter? He was about to go and find out. He walked through the door and to the main part of the cabin. He first saw a group of them stood chatting away with eachother. Talking to one another? Without Emre? Nothing he couldn't fix. He quickly approached them and forced a friendly smile onto his face. "Good fuckin' morning" he said eventually stopping infront of the group. He looked between everyone with a stupid grin on his face. "So what the flying fuck's been happening down here?".
Hykeem had leaned himself up against the truck watching as Nate went in and after awhile Dannie came out. He had listened carefully to the conversation the girl and Dannie were having adding no input until she stated her name. He just couldn't help himself and the words slipped from his mouth without a breath.
"Hykeem Harvey"
He extended his long arm opening his hand for her to shake it. His southern customs had kicked in again before he even noticed. He didn't really know where they came from but he kinda liked them growing up with them in Colorado made life easier. He was even more sure it would make life in the Apocalypse easier.
Dannie looked at the girl who declared herself to be tired and hungry. The girl already made assumptions about her and her group and she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
"Well, if you're not staying long, that's on you, not me. DannieLynn. We need to start looking for food, so you're not alone there."
She looked at Hykeem, who had finally revealed his name. This long journey and she finally found out who he was. Seemed like it was about time. When Finn spoke about Sterling and Liz she blushed a little. She always saw Sterling as an older brother and thinking about ..that...well, she never thought about that with him. Before, he was married so there was no need to really talk about relationships. He asked her about hers when nights were quiet and he knew she was seeing a firefighter, but that was another story with a bad ending. "That sounds like a good plan, Finn. I'm going to look around for some fishing poles in the basement or around these cabins somewhere. Sterling still needs some time to recover so I think I'll just start him out with an easy task."
When Emre finally joined them, she turned around and crossed her arms across her chest.
"Good morning princess. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?"
Liz blushed as he spoke about her dark side. Yes, she did have one, but that was the past and something he, especially being a cop, didn't need to know about. She liked him, a lot, and it seemed they got on well together. She wasn't willing to risk that over her past. If he asked, she would tell him the truth, but not telling him wasn't lying and he had no reason to distrust her because of that.
"Yea, we should."
She stood up and was already dressed, waiting for him as she opened the door. The night before was meant for sleeping and that's what they all did. She was surprised to see people up and rolling already and as she and Sterling came down the stairs, they seemed to be the last ones up. She really had no excuse to be so late, but Sterling, in her mind, had every excuse. "Sorry everyone. The old man back there is slow to get up."
She looked back at Sterling and grinned. If he could handle her humor, then she believed he could overcome that gunshot wound to his belly.
Lyndsie watched the other woman and crossed her own arms against her chest before she moved to stand up slowly to her full height. She heard what DannieLynn said and shook her head before replying back to her. "It isn't my call whether I even come along or not. So I'll just stay here until a verdict is passed..am I allowed in, or no?", she asked quietly. It seemed she passed other groups by in her long journey, and they either didn't allow her to join, or tried to rob her blind and then some. Could lead to why she was so passive and pessimistic about joining this group, and why she never left her pipe near her foot where she could grab it easily.
