Amber pulled into the driveway. She parked between the two transport trucks. It had been a long boring drive going by herself, she had time to think. She had time to think about her people, about her decison. She neede to tell charles. It was urgent but she would wait till he was healed, she needed him. Without him it wouldn't work.
From the corner of her eye she saw Louis step out. He held a shotgun and looked as if he was about to shoot. Crap, she had forgotten. They were in the enemy vehicle and told them to shoot on sight.
Amber quickly stepped out, "Louis stand down. It's us," she yelled.
The man lowered the gun, "did you find her? Why do you have the semi."
Amber let out a sigh, "we found the men. They had kidnapped many women. Though most wouldn't follow us we brought some back," she said walking around back. She opened it up and let out a bunch of shaking women. Most were in bad same, some worse than others. Some, the fighters, held themselves high. The were proud to be safe.
"Let's get them some blankets and warm food. Also tell Brian to prep a med bay. We have to many wounded we need to check out."
She watched as sam and Becky joined her side, the Humvee parked off to the side. She looked at the pair.
"Help me unload the transports and set up the MedBay bed and a few cots. We also need they supplies from the Knight, the Humvee, and whatever was left here unloaded and in the house," she said walking a grabbing a crate of medical supplies.
The three got to work and soon were joined by Louis. They needed a working medbay after what had happened.
Brian heard a truck pull up out side. It was large and gave the same hiss as a semi when it stopped. He grabbed his rifle as saw Louis run out of the room.
Brian stood on his crutches and moved towar a window. He tryed to see out. A moment later Louis rushed back in. He was more calmbed than Bruan expected. The man explained what happened.
Rushing over to the dining room brian cleared it off. He pushed it all to the ground an waited for the wounded to come in. He would operate here if he needed to. It was sturdier than his cots and had more space to work.
Abby pulled the Knight in, as close as she could to the front door and the porch. She didn't want them having to go too far with Sarah, and Charlie and Max were in no shape to help much.
She parked and shut off the engine , then climbed out and raced around the front. She got the rear door open, and then opened Max's door, 'Here, let me help you." She smiled at him and reached in and took his hand. She leaned in close, 'Be a good boy and I can be your naughty nurse." She was trying some humor, hoping to make up for upsetting him. Her eyes locked on his for a moment. She didn't want him mad with her, it actually hurt.
She glanced around and saw the others moving, taking things out of the other vehicles and heading inside. She was shocked to see that even some of the women, those in decent shape, were helping the ones who weren't. She smirked, maybe they could pull this off. Make a safe place in this fucked up bullshit, afterall.

Max watched the farm get closer. He felt the Knight stop and saw Abby get out. He watched he come around and open the door. He smiled as she took his hand.
"I'm fine," he said stepping out. He still held her hand and smiled at her comment, "Sarah and Charles need more help then I do. We both know it."
He looked into her eyes and kissd her cheek. "I'll behave, have my promise." He laughed and held his side, "think i see one of these women in that costume maybe you can trade," he whispered.
Max saw the women helping others. All wore skimpy outfits. Some simular to Sarah others in classics hooked outfits. "We need to get them better clothes. Maybe we need a mall run. I doubt we have enough to pass aroud for them. God knows they can't wear that."
Charles got out of the Knight slowly, he had Sarah in his arms. His shoulder burned and his leg felt like they were wobbly but he pushed himself. It seemed a miracle that she was letting him touch her. He could imagine her reaction at someone she didn't know as well doing so. She had been through one hell of an ordeal and he knew that though she seemed to be holding on she was fragile.
"Dean clear me a path. I need to get her in. She's passed out, I need to get her to Brian. He needs to help me examine her. No one touches her except me."
Dean had seen her her her hand back when he had touched her and he knew that Charles was right. He seemed to be her safety net and it wasn't like they would need to do a rape kit or anything. Those days were long gone. They needed to check her wounds but much of what she would need would simply be rest. There wasn't alot they could do for her other then give her antibiotics and hope. The highest risk would be infection.
Dean rushed into the house and went right to Brian.
"Sarah has potential broken ribs, contusions on the face, abdomen, and legs. Lacerations on the face at least. Blunt force. Blood on inner thigh, don't know yet whether anal or vaginal. There are others we should concentrate on first but the patient would refuse treatment until she is seen."
Charles carried her up the stairs but it took almost everything he had in him to get her to the kitchen. He laid her on the table and almost went down with her. After catching his breath and letting the pain subside he looked up.
"Loved one requests patient not be touched," Dean said.
Charles looked at Brian and said, "She may not be able to handle someone else touching her right now. Tell me what I need to do."
Brian saw the men rush. Dean began spewing her symptoms as Brian watched Charles set her down. He looked at her, everything Dean said was quite obvious from looking at her. The blood on her thigh stood out, he couldn't even treat that if he wanted to. There may be tearing an scarrig but he couldn't reverse that.
Brian locked eyes with the man. "what you can do is let me have a look at that hand," he said motioning to the bloody bandage on the mans arm. "If she has as Dean described the broken ribs are the worse part medically. Even with those rest is the best solution. If her lacerations are still bleeding place pressure above them for fifteen minutes. If they aren't then they will heal in a couple of weeks. The contusions just use the RICE method, some will heal quicker than others. As for the blood on the thigh. I'm not trained in that field, Dean would be better suited."
Becky set up the Medbay bed from Fort Bragg and quickly left to go help with the otwr cots.
"Just move her to the side and let my look at you. I can't look for internal bleeding with what I have. As for most of this rest is the best medicine," Brian said redding some fresh bandages and disinfectant. "I really need to see that wound."
Abby stepped out of the way as she saw Dean and Charlie climb out. She gripped Max's arm as she got another look at Sarah. His remark about the outfit and he trading was shoved aside for a moment.
She stared and her heart ached for Sarah. She saw the look on Charles' face and felt his pain. What he must be going through? She could feel that same pain. It was the one when she stepped into that med bay at Bragg and saw Max, bleeding and motionless on the stretcher.
Her eyes glanced up at Max, and she swallowed and finally answered. Not saying what was about to pour out of her. She shoved that back down, for fear. If he knew that she was finding herself loving him, needing him, after so little time together, how would he react? No. Fear kept jer silent and instead she forced a grin," you would want me to even wear that much?" A tease, a joke. She saw how he reacted to things getting too serious and she wanted him to be ok. For them to be ok.
She wrapped her arm around his waist and walked him inside. Maybe she could help with Sarah. It was the least she could do for her and Charles.
Abby went straight through with Max. Sitting him in a kitchen chair to be looked at next. Just like a doctors waiting room, all the injured were given a space to sit and wait there turn. She cleared her throat and looked at Charlie," hey, you let Brian take care of that," She locked eyes on his," you won't do her any good if that gets infected and I will help clean her up. You will be right here,ok?" She glanced at Max, knowing he would understand this was something as a woman she felt the need to do for another woman. Abby had been lucky and Sarah had not. She needed to do this for her.

Max watched Charles haul out sarah. He wanted to help him, to help carry Sarah. They were both injured but he knew Charles would resist. Max looked at abby. He saw the worry on her face and placed a hand on her arm to calm it.
Max met her eyes and smiled the best he could. She went to say something but didn't. He didn't know what it could have been, but he had a guess. Then she joked. Max tried his best to laugh, holding his side. "I need something to strip you out of," he joked an gave a wink. He winced after wards, his cheek hurting from it.
He leane most of his weight on her, when she wrapped around him. He could walk. His legs were the only thing that didn't hurt. Climbing the stairs Max kissed her forehead and smiled.
Sitting down in the kitchen chair Max tried to see what was happening. From what he could see, sarah, wasn't that bad off. He leaned back and saw Abby try and reason with Brian. Would Sarah freak out if Abby touched her? It was different than a man, but still after what she went through.
Max lowered his face, his hand was numb, or he just couldn't feel it. The knuckles were mishapen and out of place. Max could adress his own wounds. He'd been in enough fights to know he was okay. The stabbed shoulder was his biggest problem. It wasn't bleeding but the incision was long enough. He put and hand on it, wincing as he did. dam shoulder still burned.
Charles didn't know what to do. Apparently Sarah just needed to rest. He knew his own body was beaten and torn up but he wanted to get her to bed. He didn't know how much longer he could keep going. All of the adrenaline had left his system and his body had expended most of its energy trying to save her.
"I need to get her upstairs. If I don't do it soon I may not be able to. I'm scared of how she will react if someone else touches her. I've seen this before. I've seen woman lash out at contact. He'll I'm surprised she hasn't lashed out at me. Make it quick."
He showed Brian his left hand and shoulder. The cut was still bleeding. It would have to be stitched. And the onus needed to be treated immediately. Preferably he should be put down to accomplish what needed to be accomplished but it just wasn't possible.
"I know this is going to hurt but give me a local anesthetic, do what needs to be done, and then send me off with an adrenaline shot. I know you have it. It's not supposed to be used that way but it needs to happen."
Brian moved toward him. He began to unwrap the bandage. It was really bad. There was mangled flesh hanging off. He didn't see bone so it looked like a clean break. He could stitch it up and get it going. The adrenaline may be bad though. If he was to jab him in the state he was in his heart might overload.
Reaching for a needle he pulled one out. It wasn't anesthetic but it was the closest thing they had availible right now. It would numb the hand so he couldn't feel it. Then Brian got to work.
He cut some of the loose flesh and added disinfectant. He then made sure it was clean, that it didn't have any bits of bone still in the hand. He began to sew it up. It wasn't as big as his leg, but it would hurt nonetheless less. After all he had stitched up his own leg, while on painkillers and pure adrenaline. It would work well enough.
Stepping back he looked at him, "remove your shirt," he said, "your bleeding there aswell." It was to wound from where Darcy had stabbed him. "Dean get him bandaged up while I get some adrenaline ready. Though we could have Abby and Amber carry her. They could manage it. She might not react to their touch. She's not even conscious right now."
Abby stared at all this. She thought she was going to be sick. She had to turn away from what Brian was doing. She glanced at Max, and then stood , staring at Sarah. She used some antiseptic on a gauze and lightly dabbed at the cuts on her face. She frowned as soft murmurs escaped Sarah's lips. She held the gauze and waited, then finished. She didn't look like anything was broken, and Brian had said he didn't think so either. She heard Brian say something about her and Amber Carrying her, "Yea, I would love to help, and maybe, do you think if she wakes a bit, we could put her in the tub? Help her wash up?" She glanced at her thighs and frowned. She knew she would want to be cleaned if it was her. She didn't want to leave any trace of that bastard on her. She glanced at Charles, "I will take care of her.You know that." She looked down at Sarah and stroked her hair, leaned down and whispered softly to her.
The work on his hand hurt like hell. He could feel every cut and every stitch. It wasn't as bad as it could be but it was bad. He felt faint at the thought that he would be like this forevor now. He would have to relearn how to properly hold his mp7. It wasn't impossible but the grip would be different.
"God this hurts."
He listened to Brian, and Abby. Their plan was good. At least mostly good. He knew that he was weak and getting her up the stairs alone, even with adrenaline, could be dangerous. He wished that he could just agree and follow them but he couldn't risk it. Imagine if she started freaking out while she was on the stairs. She could throw herself out of their grip and be far worse off then she already was.
"Abby yes, Amber no. It's nothing personal, I'm sure you know that. She knows Abby but she doesn't know you. Give me the adrenaline and Abby can help me."
Once he was stitched up and Brian had given him the adrenaline he waited a second to let it seep into his system. It didn't make him ready to tackle the world, his body was still bruised and broken but it gave him what he needed to get what needed to be done, done. He grabbed Sarah and nodded to Abby.
Abby glanced at him. Yes, she was ready but she wasn't sure about him. She nodded," course, you want me to run up first and start the tub with warm water, then meet you on the steps? " she glanced at Brian," should we wrap her ribs, just incase, after, before we lay her down?" She was moving already. She ran the back of her hand against Max's cheek as she went passed him,"be right back."
Abby bound up the steps two at a time and started the water flowing in the tub. She snatched towels out of the closet and sat them on the counter. Normally she wouldn't have dared andade due with the candle light, but she flicked on the bathroom light and opened the bedroom door. Tje one Charlie and Sarah had laid claim to. She flicked on that light and ransacked a few drawers til she found a soft cottom nightgown. It would do. She tossed it on the toilet with tje towels as she met Charlie on the steps." Everything is all set. Just set her in. I'll cut it off if I have to."
With Abby's help it was easy to get her up the stairs, well much easier then it would have been. His shoulder still screamed, much like his hand, but the adrenaline was pushing him forward. He would be wired for a little while but then he would crash. His body would be completely spent once the adrenaline ran it's course through his body.
"I'll get it cut off, and I'll wash her with my good hand. Luckily no damage to that one. If you could help me get her in bed once I'm done?"
He layer her down in the water and let the water flow a little more. It was nice and warm. He kissed her on the forehead and tried to determine if she was waking up at all.

Mac felt Abby's hand on his cheek. He smiled and looked up at her, right into he eyes. "You better," he said leaning back. He watched her leave an then Charles leve with Sarah after. He heard Brian call after Charles, something about his shoulder still bleeding.
When the room was semi clear Max moved to the table. He peeled off his shirt and looked at Brian. "Alright think I'm next doc," he said laughing.
Brian applied disinfectant and began to stitch the wound on Max's shoulder. Max could take the pain didn't nee anything for it. Once it was sewn up Dean bean to bandage the shoulder and around the bruised areas on his chest and stomach. Max nearly had a full shirt of bandages when Dean steppe back.
Beside him Brian was making a cast. They had casting material from the base and brian let it soak in some water Becky had gotten for him. Brian slipped a glove like sock cloth over Max's hand, carefully around the knuckles. He then began to apply a layer of the Cast material. It was fibreglass, and would be light enough for him to move. It was solid black and Max examined it.
His hand would be immobile till it was out but he could mange.
"Put some ice on that face," Brian said grabbing an ice bag. He tossed it to Becky and she rushed outside. After filling it with snow she returned.
Max placed the bag on his face and moved onto the chair again. Brian worked quick with Max, they had done it before, under more dire circumstances. Max was cooperative with him.
He heard the man call Charles down again, wanting to finish with the man's wounds.
Abby was right next to Charles as he put Sarah into the warm water. She locked eyes on him. She leaned in next to him and started to pulled the sheer fabric up on her body. The water actually helped a bit, it caused the material to float a bit above her actual skin.
Abby slipped an arm behind sarah's shoulders and lifted her foward a bit, itching it up the back and over her head. She held her like that to help Charlie was her hair and back. She felt Sarah stirring through the whole thing and she talked to her softly. Telling her who was touching her, what they were doing and that Charlie was here.
She just helped. She knew he would need help, so she waited while he used a rag and washed Sarah's body. The blood amd filth soon gave way to the body beneath. When ready, Abby looked at him."pull the plug, let's get her dry and wrapped, then that gown."
Sarah stirred once she was set it the water. God but it felt good to her cold and aching body. Eyes fluttered open, a hand gripped the edge of the tub. Bright light over head. She heard a female voice, soft and calm, soothing. It was steady talking.
"Sarah, sarah, it's Abby, and Charles, you're alright now, we got you, you're home"
Those words said over and over again and again. Her head canted a bit and shesaw his face. He looked worried, concerned. She had seen that look before.
She stilled and didn't fight. Obviuously Abby's voice was getting through. She tried to talk, but moving her mouth hurt and caused her to groan ."Chalie" she lifted her bandaged had off the edge of the tub. Abby had placed it out like that, to try to not get it wet.
Sarah felt the rag slide over her body. Her hand touched his bandaged one resting near hers. Two little fingers rubbed against hos exposed fingers." Love me,love you too" the eye not swollen to near shut looked at him. In her dream, Charlie said he loved her. She wanted to tell him about it. To let him know. Her head hurt and as she felt the warmth receed from around her body, she started to tremble. The water was leaving and she heard Abby talking about getting her dry, wrapped. What ? She moved as Abby helped her to stand. She was still foggy and very confused.
Charles had wanted to take care of bathing her on his own but it was nice to have Abby help. He was hurting and it was amazingly inefficient to try and bath someone with only one hand. He looked at his shoulder, blood still seeping out and he wondered why Brian had given him the adrenaline without finishing up the job that he had set out to do. He would need to get Dean up here to finish that once he was done with Sarah. Preferably that would be done in the bedroom because he was not going to let Sarah out of his sight until she was up and moving at least, and potentially not even after that. He still felt like all of this was his fault but that didn't matter right now. At the moment they just needed to get Sarah healthy again. He heard her words again and since she was awake this time he decided that he would respond.
"I love you Sarah," he said.
He wanted to say more but she was disoriented at this point and she probably wouldn't realize everything that was going on around her. He just had to hope that his words, simple as they were, had emphasized exactly what he had meant. he heard Abby telling him to drain the water and help get her wrapped up and to bed. He simply nodded. He was starting to flag again, his body probably reacting negatively to the adrenaline that he had made Brian pump into his system. His heart felt like it was racing a million miles a minute. He knew he had to get through it though. It wasn't the smartest idea to take adrenaline with the damage he had done to himself. He gripped his chest for a minute as a wave of pain subsided. He got her wrapped in a towel and went to her other side, helping Abby get her to the bedroom. Though she was still beat up the bath had done good for her. He flipped off the bathroom light as they left. He helped get her dressed.
"We're just gonna get you dressed and then lay you down sweetheart. I'm right here with you. Your safe."
He hadn't necessarily seen a reason that he needed to say this but he was preempting the possible freak out. No sooner had they gotten Sarah dressed and laid down then a knock came at the door.
"It's Dean, I need to get that shoulder patched up before you die of blood loss."
Dean went to work on Charles shoulder as the latter man watched Sarah. It didn't take long but by the end of it his shoulder was on fire. With the adrenaline pumping in his veins it would not have been safe to give him any more meds so he had to feel every stitch and boy did that hurt. He was glad it had not gone all the way through. Dean left and he sat in a small chair watching Sarah.

Amer helped Sam and Louis carry the cots. They set up most of them in the barn so the women had an actual bed to sleep. She would worry about her own men after. Amber knew that they could sleep on couches or floors, she would even offer to do so herself.
Amber watched the women, lots were broken, huddled together crying. She couldn't tell if they were tears of joy or sorrow. Some were shaking, rocking back and forth. Other had already fallen asleep or just stood quietly.
A single women approached her. Amber was amazed at how well she held herself. She looked strong, wasn't broken. She wasn't bruised or scratched. And stranges if all she was clean, cleaner than Amber even. She watched the women approach.
"I'm Georgia," she said looking at Amber, "wanted to thank you for saving us."
Amber blinked a few taken back at how positive this woman was. "I have to...have to ask. How is it you're not broken like the others," Amber said eyeing her. It was direct, but somehow she knew this women could take it.
"Well it's simple. From day one I agreed. It was only if you cried or fought back that you were beaten. They were bored of you otherwise, left me alone," Georgia said smiling, "I also pretended I enjoyed it. Ruined their mood when I moaned along with them. Wasn't rape if I agreed. Hell if I had a dick I'd probably have been one of the men."
Georgia just stared at her, "I didn't let it bother me."
"Can you tell me about the others," Amber asked?
"I only know about four of the girls. The ones close to me in my cage," Georgia said pointing to a women over in the corner. She leane against the house, holding herself close, "that's Penny. She was one of the drink girls. Men don't use them like the breeders, mostly groping and gestures. She served King drinks, maybe sat in his lap. She wasn't his main squeze though."
Georgia pointed to a pair huddled in a corner. One was shaking and the other was holding her. "That's Olivia she was one of the stronger ones. She was rather new and wasn't ckaimed yet. She's lucky she got rescued when she did, she would have broke. The girl she's holding is Carly. She was a waitress or something. The men favoured her cause she screamed. She had broken since before I got there."
The woman motioned to a red head with frizzy hair that was sittig my the transport truck. "That's Kira. She was the one Blake, the women, favoured. Blake wouldn't let anyone touch her. She was her relaxation. If Blake hadn't been gone at the time she would have been gone with her instead of us. Though Kira wasn't offically Blake's, as only King and Enio could claim one, she still was. The men new that, we knew that. I don't know what they did together, but Kira came back shaking and crying each time."
Abby helped Charlie bare her weight and get her out of the tub. Abby did the majority of the drying off of Sarah's body, letting him keep her balanced. She also would the ace tightly around the woman's ribs before slipping the goen over her head. She saw Charlie grip his chest and just stared at him for a moment, waiting.
When he recovered himself, she helped him walk Sarah to their room. Aftet laying her down she moved back to the door to head down stairs. She opened it to Dean's knock and let him in,"I'm going down to check on Max and see if wr need anything else. I can bring you some food in a little bit." She left the room and cleaned up the bathroom teal quick then found Max sitting st the table.
Abby crept up to him and ran her fingers over the cast lightly," well, that is not good." She frowned at him and stared at his wrapped up torso. She shook her head and the. Leaned down and laid het head against his, kissing it first." What do you need?" She wanted yo hug him, hold him, bit didn't want to hurt him.
