General Maps
Free City of San Francisco
The four core islands of the City, FCSF: Yerba Buena Island (Immediately south of and connected toTreasure Island), Treasure Island, Alcatraz Island and Angel Island. There are further inhabited San Francisco Bay islands in the FCSF, but these are considered the core. By law, no outsiders are allowed to set foot on these islands under pain of indefinite imprisonment or death depending on room limitations in Alcatraz. The law states people must be assigned to squads of five or more, so that no one is ever truly alone. It's thought that people dying with no one around to immediately put down the fresh walker is how community crushing outbreaks get started. Anyone found wandering alone is shipped to solitary on Alcatraz or sometimes Angel Island until such time as they can be assigned to a squad or be exiled to the frontier. Outside of these three islands, the Rule of 5 is not always strictly enforced, usually in the interest of frontier diplomacy.
All offer a perfect view of the corroded and crumbling Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Because these great feats of engineering required continual yearly maintenance to guard against such things as the salt in the corrosive marine air, they are now only death traps and relics of the Old World. In a post-apocalyptic world, the only way past the San Francisco Bay is by boat over it to go all the way around it.
FCSF Northern Frontier (Solano, Sonoma, Napa & Lake Counties)
The Free City of San Francisco has grown a wide influence in a very short time. Some teams have ranged as far all the way the Sacramento River to Sacramento itself in search of salvageable goods. The City maybe have outposts to the south and a couple places along the coast, but the Northern Frontier is the most solidified and wide ranging to date. Here is where signs that civilization has begun tot take hold, at least in this slice of the world. Outside of it and the FCSF"s reach things are as they always were. They're noew railroad connects Fort Vallejo to their newest outpost the Castle (An old winery built in the old world to resemble a 13th century medieval Tuscan castle. Here they have opened markets to draw in the locals. Locals they hope to one day recruit into their fold. The markets also have the effect of getting locals to do most of the scavenging in the area for them. The Motanui Ranch belonging to the girls, Dakota, Clementine and Maria is short drive north by Lakeport and Clear Lake.
