Hot. It was always hot here and the air was dryer that her moms thanksgiving turkey. The heat would blister and cook you within minutes. The threats where everywhere around you and something as simple as a ball rolling across the ground was enough to put a soldier on edge. She was on the ground following the caravan doing their regular routine perimeter check. Fox was at her side like the shadow she counted on to always show when the sun was beating down on her. "Why do you fuck bags get to ride in the ac? You pussies gonna pass out in the extreme hot temps? Afraid to get a little sweaty." She spoke into her radio with a smirk on her lips as they passed through the first check point.
She didnt see the insurgents in the distance. they used the blaring blinding sun as cover and before there was time a loud explosion made her fall. The ringing in her ears was so loud and she gripped her head for a moment before Fox started licking her face and barking. Rolling over she scrambled to her feet and she scurried to the nearest cover. Pulling her Ak she checked the clip before reaching for her Radio. "Diaz? Williamson? Whats your status?" she spoke into the talkie but just got static. Peeking around the corner she didnt see any signs of life besides the enemy. Quickly she darted off into the harshness of the desert to make her way back to base.
The sound of a foriegn voice was creeping into her mind and with the knife in hand she tackled the girl. The dogs were barking but she paid it now mind as the blade touched the girls throat. "Terrorist scumbag. You fucking killed them you towel headed camel riding freak." Her words were harsh and she leaned down and licked the girls cheek. "I can taste your fear." Her words were sinister but hearing the sound of dragging metal. The look in her eye was crazed at best before she jumped up and pulled her pistol. A sharp whistle escaped her lips and she darted into the cornfield.
Of course she didnt see a cornfield but instead the torn ruins of some shit hole sand filled counrty. Out in the field she came to stop behind a broken down tractoer that was now her cover. Her two dogs were at her sides and fox whined while licking her hands. He was trying to bring her back from her daze but her mind was stuck in another time in her place. Really it was a place that she felt safer and it was a sense of the normal. Sahara was a fighter and a soldier because it was all she knew in life.
