It has been a couple of weeks since the combined forces of the three nations military had cleared out the islands. With the help of the Russian forces and since they had the numbers, it was agreed by everyone that they would set up their new home on the island of Maui. With that, they also have three runways and a port for their vessels to dock. The island was big enough for their whole fleet that they had to be able to relax in comfort. It was one of the few bigger islands. When they came back to Fort Shafter, it was brought to her attention that her one pilot who was an officer and a man who had an image about females wanted to speak with her. When she went to the position he had asked her to go to, she was met by the other officers as well as he. He told her that since he was the only American Captain on the island, he was promoting her to the Rank of Captain because of all of the things she had managed to do thus far in the years of them being there. So now, she was Captain Lindsay Blackthorn. It was now Official, she was now an actual Officer. But since she was injured, it was short lived a bit since she was in need of rest and to let her body recover from the trauma it had received during the mission to claim the islands. During their time together, Mackenzie has been besides Lindsay's side and helping her to take care of herself since most days, Lindsay had a hard time with her injuries. There is only so much punishment one's body can go through until they required assistance.
Waking up early like usual, she moved carefully out of her bed so that she didn't wake up the person who was sharing it with her. Her dark brown eyes looked in through the darkness at the British Officer who was comfy. The moon's light did help her a bit since the sun hasn't come up yet. For a few days, she has been in bed because of her injuries. But today, she wanted to get out of it and stretch her limbs. Her whole body ached as she pushed herself up slowly up onto her feet. In her white shorts and her beater, she made her way out of the bedroom and lightly walked into the kitchen. Bare footed, she felt the cool tile under her feet as she walked across it. Ever since Mackenzie had decided in moving into the house, Lindsay has been drinking more tea then she had with Coffee. Grabbing the tea kettle, she took it over to the sink and turned the sink on, filling the kettle. Once it was filled, she took it over to the stove and turned on the one burner. Reaching to her drain board, she grabbed her one mug and then reached into the cabinet over the sink and pulled out a zip lock bag which was filled with different kinds of tea. Opening it, she pulled out two packs of Black Tea. Ripping them open, she took out the tea bags and set them into the mug. Picking up a plastic bowl with lid, she opened it and took the spoon in it and lifted it up with it's sugary whiteness and put three tea spoons of sugar into the cup. Now all was left, was for the water to start boiling. Leaning herself against the sink, she let out a soft sigh. Listening to the calm waters hitting the shore line was soothing to her as it was one thing she always woke and fell asleep to. Crossing her arms around her stomach, she could feel the aches still pounding inside of herself. On the kitchen table was paper work that had stacked up a bit. It was reports of supplies, encounters of the dead, injury reports and status updates from the other islands since they were starting to get up and running as other outposts or colonies. Pushing herself off of the sink, she went over to the table and sat down in one of the chairs. Picking up the paper work, she began to go through them slowly to make sure she doesn't miss any little detail.
Four folders later, she heard the kettle begin to whistle as it was ready to pour. Getting back up onto her feet with a groan, she walked back over to the stove and picked up the kettle. She tilted the hot kettle over the mug and poured in the hot water.Once the mug was filled to her liking, she took out another spoon while setting the kettle down. She began to dip the tea bag up and down in the hot water until it was black as the night time sky and tossing the used tea bags into the waste can. Stirring the contents in her mug, she lightly placed the spoon into the sink and picked up the hot mug. Taking a sip from it, she walked back over to the table and sat back down, setting the mug away from the pile of paper work and reports. Her eyes scanned over everything as she went from folder to folder. The ones she needed to sign was set off to her side to make another pile. There was about twelve requests to move supplies, rotate soldiers and other members on the other islands for fresh hands so that the others can relax from working so hard, vehicle requests to Fort Shafter to the other islands. Sighing to herself, a lot had piled up a bit since she has been down recovering. There was things that Lin-Lin didn't want anyone else to do and the paper work was one such a thing. Picking up the stack of files and her mug of Tea, she moved herself from the kitchen and walked carefully into the living room where she set everything down onto the coffee table. Lightly setting herself down onto the black leather couch, she exhaled slowly as it was comfortable for her body. Reaching to her one side, she took hold of a small chain at one of the lamps and turned the light on. With her hand and leaning forward a bit, she slid it under the table and pulled out a pen that had fallen weeks earlier. Pulling the cap off, she bean to get to work on signing her name for some of the requests and made notes as to get a hold of some of these people who made requests. One such request was for a small team of construction workers to rotate the soldiers since they were feeling as it stated on the report, "Cranky and feeling Very Lonely, that we are worried that they will start to get freaky with each other." Sighing to herself, she leaned back into the couch and placed a hand on her face while her left leg was crossed over her right leg with the file on her lap.
