Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- When Francine had an affair with a man from New Orleans, Brody was the result. He was second youngest son born of the Crowe family. Always put after his brothers, regarded as an outcast, a throwaway. He acted out a child, always trying to prove himself to his older brothers. He was bullied by them, treated like shit. But as long as they approved of him, he was happy.
His mother confided him about the affair shortly after the Crowe father died. Told him about his real dad, and the family that surrounded him. They were bayou local. He had cousins he didn't know about, and a half sister he never met. Any meetings with them were awkward after that point, Brody looking at them as if they were family. Though they didn't look at him the same.
In highschool he had a few friends, and started getting into drugs and alcohol. He worked for his mom here and there, doing odd jobs. At fourteen he started going with his brothers to collect rent money from the local businesses. He would shake down a few people if he had to, but mostly just hung back and watched.
At the age of sixteen he met Jude Hastings. The brief interactions he had with him as they flourished and soon they became friends. They would hangout outside of just collecting the rent, and would spend hours talking to each other. They became close in their interactions when Brody would come in to the diner.
At seventeen he dropped out of school. Not attending class he flunked out. But like his brothers, he didn't care. He didn't need school, didn't need grades. He had the Crowe fortune to back him up, and as long as he kept doing jobs for his mom, he would keep getting money. That was all he needed in life, all he could manage.
When eighteen Jude got a job in the big city. Knowing the rent would now be a distant thing Brody took it upon himself to get the number of his friend. They kept in touch, and started hanging out outside of the diner. For a few years they grew close, eventually becoming best friends. They would spend every day together, any hour they had.
This continued like this till the outbreak day. Brody and Jude hanging out, inbetween his mother's jobs. It was just enough to get by.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- The connection to most of civilization ended abruptly. The lines went dead, internet overloaded. Soon most communication went dark. Then things got worse. People started to turn, started to come back. Most were lucky enough to be away when this happened, didn't experience it for a good week. But that wasn't the case with Bubba.
He was in town at the time, buying cases of beer to bring back for his brothers. He had plans to meet up with Jude later, was going to drive up to New Orleans and pick him up from work. They fell through when the world went to shit. People started attacking other people. Bubba had been just leaving the store when a fist fight outside broke out.
One attacker busted the face of another. He went down hard, teeth caving in. As he fell he hit his head, died. He came back, tried to attack Bubba and the other man. Sinking in to the man's neck the other attacker had died, both turning, changing. Bubba not knowing what to do, ran, he ran as fast as he could, to his jeep and back home.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- A few weeks went by and Brody kept with his brothers at the house. He followed his mom's orders, and helped hunt and fish with his brothers. Through out the town the looted the stored here and there. They survived well off what they had, living comfortably, the boys, their mom, and Randi.
A few weeks in a big event took place. Jude had came back, found his way to the Crowe mansion from where he was trapped in New Orleans. The brothers greeted him. Bubba was going to let him stay, he was a cook, useful, but most of all he mattered to Bubba, was his closest friend. But Brody's mom whispered in his ear, told him that Jude wasn't family and needs to send him away. Either Jude left, or both bubba and him did.
Brody told Jude to leave, tried to be as commanding as he could. But Jude got angry, defensive. He would leave, so the other brothers, following Francine's orders, beat him. Brody watched as his brothers beat his friend. Brody watched, and did nothing.
Jude left after that, and things went back to normal. They survive the best they could. Then Francine got sick. With out doctors or medicine she fell ill. Dieing in her sleep. Boyd, the youngest found her. And together the brothers buried her in the back. From their Beau and Randi took more of a lead, they organized the brothers, trying to lift their spirits.
The brothers and Randi lived well, going into the city or town for supplies. They gathered all they could, lived comfortably. Bubba longed to find Jude, feeling the guilt for sending him away. But he never could, Jude was gone, he knew he'd never see his friend, be able to apologize. So he had one thing to focus on, survival.
