Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Lincoln was never the smartest. He barely got by in school, nearly flunking out. But he managed to graduate with low grades. He continued school and went in to the trades. Getting certificates to be an electrician. He worked for a company while taking night classes to become a full on handy man. He eventually left the company and started his own.
He started the company with a few coworkers. They would do renovations mostly, odd jobs here and there. They spent one summer making an add on garage for a person, and were included in a few house projects. Together they were only a small company, five guys, few trucks and tools. But they always managed to find work.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Lincoln was on site. They were in the process of building a house before a big snow storm was to come. They were already behind, not wanting to leave the project till spring they continued on with the icy conditions. Currently they were adding shingles to the roof. It was a three story house, rich Californian wanting to move to the empty fields on Montana.
Sadly Linclon and his crew were ill prepared. Lincol was up on the roof, lacking the proper harness and safety gear. One of his team took a spill. He fell backwards on the roof and hit the ground. Everyone else stopped and clai, bed down. They found the impact of the fall had killed him, snapping his neck. It was then that he began to turn.
He reanimated, and tore a chunk in to another workers legs. One of the other workers sprung in to action. He hacked and chopped at the guy with his hammer until he fell dead. It was silent, with the exception of news reports about a virus. Lincoln spent that night in a hospital, reporting the incident to the police, and making sure his friend who was bit would be okay.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Lincoln awoke in the hospital waiting chair to a panic. Patients here and there had turned. They had bit others and it was chaos. Slowly Lincoln made his way outside, to his truck. The police had locked down the Hospital. Lincoln waited outside with the other survivors. That was when the military showed up. They went inside in a uniformed fashion, and all Lincoln heard was shots.
He made his way away from the hospitals after that and out of town. News of the pandemic was spreading, people turning and eating each other. He stuck mostly to himself after that, avoiding most people as he went. His goal was to head south, in hopes there would be a cure in California somewhere.
He helped out where he could, offering to assist groups and famalies as needed. He would offer supplies or a hand where was needed. But at the end of the day he would alwyas move out on his own. It was safer that way, less of a risk to not get attached. He knew odds of survival were better on his own.
That was until he met Milah. The situation came out from unaffortunate events. He was driving down the road when he heard a scream. He saw smoke above the trees. Stopping his truck Lincoln made his way through the forest. He came upon a few men, people in cages. They were slavers. In their capture was a girl, her frightened face catching his eyes.
Lincoln sprung into action. He came out with a loud and cry and charged at the men. He would end up freeing the girl, and killing the slavers, but not before suffering a blow to his throat. One of the slavers had him pinned and took the butt of his shotgun to Lincolns throat. As he smashed down agaisn and again it ruptured his voice box vocal cords. Pain only infueled Lincoln as he tore into the man's calf with his teeth and killed him with his hands.
But in the end Milah was free, and Lincoln passed out to exhaustion and the pain. He awoke sometime later to Milah fixing him up, caring for him. She needed him at the point as much as he needed her. They decided to travel together, Milah helping Lincoln cope with not being able to speak again. With his out a voice he grew to rely on other cues to get his point across.
Milah mentioned family in Florida so the pair went that way. For two years they had been travelling. They grew closer, stronger together. They played off eachothers strengths and weaknesses. And eventually they grew intimate with each other as well, a bond like none other Lincoln had before. He would do anything to keep Milah safe.
Only now they had just entered Missouri. Milah had fallen ill with the cold, or the flu. Lincoln was trying to nurture her, find medicine to cure her. Hope was becoming bleak, only able to travel for so long every day. They needed a new ray of Hope for them to keep going.
