Kayden walked out of the cabin, his arms stretched upwards, over his head before taking in the surroundings. It was a quiet, slightly chilly day out and the songs of the birds continued to sound throughout the forest. To Kayden's relief, there wasn't any of those things walking around near his cabin.
"Orion, come!" He commanded and his four legged companion trotted out of the house and the two began to go on their way to start their patrol around the perminator, which was about a mile away from from the cabin. Thankfully, Kayden made sure to tie red colored ribbons on threes to outline the said area, surrounding the cabin in a ring so to speak.

Sophia's red hair glowed in the morning sun as it lay against the pavement and the broken glass of the car she had been asleep in up until a few minutes ago when a loud shout caused her to jolt awake to see the car her and her father had been riding in for the last few weeks as they crossed the continent hit a walker on the road, He must have thought that they would just run it over and continue going like they had so many times before but this time the walker got caught in the wheel of the car and caused it to stop turning. The car flipped on its back and Sophia felt a sharp pain in her left arm. Glancing over relieved that a few shards of glass from the windshield had found her upper arm near her shoulder. "Fuck!" She exclaimed as she reached over and pressed on the cuts "What the fuck dad?" She said with annoyance before looking past her arm at the drivers seat, Her fathers body slumped over the steering wheel with he arms outstretched towards her. He had chosen to hold her in place as they flipped instead of saving himself which had caused his body to slam full force into bits of the car while it flipped, Saving Sophia in the process from death but sacrificing himself in turn.
"Oh papa.... You idiot, Why'd you have to hit another one..." She let out with a sigh and a wince at the throb of pain from her arm. Glancing around at the upside down world Sophia took a hard gulp of air as a knot formed in her throat. Wincing once more she reached down and unclipped the seat belt and let her body fall the short distance to the ground with another shot of pain through her arm, her black bag had been at her feet at the time and now laid a short distance away after it had seemingly been launched from the window when it shattered in the flip. "Okay, Get the bandages out of the bag.. wrap the wound." She repeated to herself a few times before struggling out of the broken window with glass tearing into her knee's and good elbow. A look of struggle on her face Sophia managed to get the rest of the way out of the upturned vehicle and on her feet again with a slight limp from a pain in her ankle. Letting another sigh escape her lips she limped to the bag as a line of blood began to run down her arm from the cuts near her shoulder, unzipping it she dragged it with her good arm closer to the engine deck of the car and leaning against it she began to drag out the few bandages and her fathers bottle of liquor from the bag. Why he had her carry it she would never understand but now was not the time to think about that. Just like her father had taught her Sophia grabbed the bottle and poured a little on the wound. "Fuck!" she shouted to herself again as the pain flared up again as liquid met flesh.
Letting it sit for a few moments Sophia bit her lip to help deal with the pain before she set the alcohol back in the main pouch of her bag and grabbed the bandage. Wrapping it up she shoved the bandages back into the bag and zipped in back up before letting her body fall the rest of the way to the ground in defeat. "You fucking idiot... You're just gonna leave me here? Why? Why would you do this to me now?" She asked to herself as if her father was standing in front of her about to walk away. "First mom at the start of all this shit and now you? I mean, You had your flaws, hell I mean I hated what you were to be honest but You.. You're still my father you asshole! Why?" She exclaimed to the sky with a tear in her eye. "Fuck!" she shouted again before letting her head fall to her hands, her right arm flaring with pain at the weight it was holding but Sophia didn't care. Pain was temporary, loss was forever.
Slamming her fist against the car in rage Sophia glared into the treeline that stood in front of her, As much as she hated the idea of being on her own and no matter how bad her heart ached at this moment in time she knew that staying in the open like this wasn't a good idea especially these days. Fighting her ankle to get to her feet Sophia picked up the bag at her feet and slung it over her shoulder before checking the other ankle for a certain item. "Good." She muttered as she felt the outline of her pistol through her jeans. Making her way back to the car she made one last glance at her fathers limp body before shaking her head and letting one last sigh escape her lips before making her way back to her side. Sweeping the glass away as best she could she gingerly lowered herself back to the ground to check for anything else she could use. Her fathers rifle had been in the back seat at the time so she climbed back onto the roof of the vehicle that now served as the floor before scanning the back for the tell tale signs of a rifle. It didn't take her long before she was greeted by the stock of her fathers SIG MPX Carbine and his bag. Dragging the bag from the back seat she looked at her fathers corpse with a frown. "Sorry pops" She said before unzipping the bag and grabbing the two extra mags they had found a few weeks ago and the box of ammo, sliding them out of the vehicle before grabbing the rifle and doing the same.
Sliding out of the vehicle for the second time with some trouble as her ankle had began to hurt a little more from the use and her bandage had begun to turn red from the blood being absorbed. "Fuck" She muttered to herself again at the pain before sitting herself up and grabbing her bag from close by. Sliding the extra mags and ammo into her bag next to her own two extra mags for her pistol she zipped it back up and set it on her right shoulder.
Limping through the woods Sophia glanced back at the smoking wreck and her father before quickly looking forward as she felt the knot begin to grow in her throat again "You idiot.." She muttered again as she ran through her mind what to do next. Where do I go? What do I do? She repeated to herself as she glanced around for any walkers that might have been around. Thankfully it seemed like they didn't wonder this far out these days and all that met Sophia's ears was the sound of birds and wind blowing gently in the summer morning. "I'm so fucked..." She muttered to herself as she got ever deeper into the woods with nothing but the sound of nature to accompany her. "Four years and this is how it ends? What the fuck.." She sighed as she stepped over a fallen branch, making sure to put as little weight as possible on her ankle that at this point had slowed her walk to a limp with each step causing a shot of pain through her leg.
Sophia walked for about thirty minutes before she heard anything other than the calls of birds and other woodland critters. A voice was coming from the tree's, a voice that seemed to be talking to an animal. "Wait.. There's people out here? Fuck!" she exclaimed in a hushed shout as she limped to the nearest tree in an attempt to hide. "Wait, no. This is good, I'll just play it up and get a place to sleep. Simple." She thought aloud before stepping out from behind the tree and began emphasizing her limp, only putting weight on it for a split second every time she walked forward. A few moments later she saw the source of the voice. grabbing her arm with her elbows and knee's covered in cuts, scratches and bruises Sophia let her leg give and fall to one knee before looking up at the person in front of her. "Help.."

Kayden maneuvered around the trees, keeping an eye out for the things since they were the only thing around these days. If it wasn't for Orion, he would have gone crazy right now. He stopped and glanced down at Orion and saw that he was staring, body stiff. Kayden frowned before he heard something in front of him. He looked and to his shock, a young girl was there, kneeling and when she whispered the help, he jumped right into action. He took a few steps forward and slid the pack he brought off and onto the ground before kneeling.
"Orion, Guard." he ordered and the dog instantly became more alert and walked a few ways away from them, sniffing before doing the same to all other sides off them.
He gave her a look over, noting cuts and the bruises before unzipping his pack. "Name's Kayden, that over there is Orion. What happened to you?"

Feeling the grass meet the cuts on her knee's and press the fresh blood between her knee and torn pants Sophia watched as the man who looked to be a teenager or young adult came closer and knelled beside her before commanding the dog next to him to guard. In a breathy voice Sophia looked back at the man as he introduced himself "Kayden.." She repeated, She had noticed that her head had been slightly hurting a few minutes prior but paid it no mind until now. "I'm Soph.. Or Sophia, Or lil red, Whichever you like is fine. I'm sorta banged up." She chuckled lightly before trying to push off the ground.
Lifting herself up slightly she felt the pain in her ankle serge back and this time genuinely fell back to the ground from the pain. "A little more banged up than I thought." She chuckled weakly once more as she watched the man begin to dig in his bag. "The car I was in sorta flipped, Gashed my arm, Twisted my ankle and I hit my head." she explained weakly. Looking back at the dog she smiled before looking back at Kayden. "I can walk.. Just can't get up." she said before trying again and failing. "It really hurts dude..." she said with a bitter taste in her mouth from the pain she felt.

He listened to her words and watched her before nodding. He slipped his pack back on. "Yeah, it would. Here."
He reached over and slipped an arm around her waist, lifting her up and pulling her against his side. "You're lucky." He started to to walk, being mindful of the logs, rocks and trees. "My cabin isn't far from here. Orion, home."
The dog perked up before trotting over and walked on the other side of Sophie.

Sophia kept her eyes on the man after she explained her situation in case she had to attempt to make a break for it, even though she knew that she wouldn't get far. Watching as the man grew closer and wrapped his arm around her waist Sophia flinched slightly at the feeling.
Getting to her feet she glanced back over at the man that was now acting as her crutch before hearing him command his dog to go home. Watching as it ran off towards what she assumed was home she reassured her sight back to the man, "thank you.." her words were genuine, maybe for the first time in months was that true but up until now she hasn't needed anyone else. Gingerly stepping over the forest floor with Kadyens help Sophia wouldn't speak again until they started to approach the cabin.
"I don't have much to offer but I'll pay you back okay? If i can do it i will." she said with a nod, the quietness of the trip back to the cabin had given her time to think of what her father's death meant. It meant that she no longer had a direction, no longer had a purpose. These two thoughts had caused the biggest k or yet to form in her throat. A year forming on her eye Sophia looked up at the man. "I'll try to not be a bother.."

"Don't worry about paying me back, kid." Kayden continued to walk through the woods, keeping an eye and ear out. Pretty soon, his cabin came into view and it also have a good sized fenced out area a few feet away from the cabin.
He helped her inside and into the main room, which where Orion was, sitting on his dog bed faithfully. He got her down onto the couch carefully before straightening up. "Make yourself at home, I'll grab you something to drink and eat."
He turned and walked into the kitchen and while he was doing that, his faithful companion stared at Sophie, panting with his tongue hanging out of the side.

Approaching the cabin Sophia let her eyes wonder around the perimeter of the building, it looked pretty small compared to some of the other places she had stayed in but she didn't care. At this moment all she cared about was her wounds and how bad they hurt.
Entering the cabin sophia noticed just how small It was. Letting her eyes peer around she found herself looking for anything that she could find useful if she had to leave in a hurry, making their way to the main room Sophia watched as the dog from before was sitting on his dog bed with a smile. "your dog sure minds you well." she commented after he had gotten her sat down on the couch, "why would you do all this for free? No one does things for free these days." she explained cautiously as she watched him leave the room.
Awaiting his return she looked at the dog with his happy face sitting across the room. Giving him a smile. "do i have something on my face or something?" she asked before glancing around the room.

Kayden walks back in with a bottle of water and an apple. "Orion and I found each other out here. I took him in, fed him and train him. Here ya go."
He hands her the drink and the apple. "I know they don't, that's why I do it. Pretty much those who are losing hope that there's still kind hearted people and all that." he paused, glancing at Orion. "Don't mind him, he doesn't see other living humans these days."

Soph continued glancing around the small room of the cabin she occupied with the two others and after making note of the possible exits she gingerly brought her injured ankle to rest on the far end of the sofa before sliding her bag and rifle off her shoulder to lean them against the cushion she occupied. Not that she knew how to use it or anything. Unzipping the bag she got the bandages out once more and looked at the ones she had wrapped on her arm before, "Soaked..." She muttered as she pressed a hand to them, The sight of blood wasn't something new to her by any stretch of the imagination, being on the road she saw a lot of it. A soft chuckle came forth from her lips as she tried to put some weight on her leg. "Great.. You better not be broken or anything." she said to it before seeing the man begin to make his way back into the room.
Smiling gently she watched as he made his way towards her to hand an apple and water. "Thanks.." She muttered in a low tone, The fact she was being able to rest had begun to allow the thought of her father to claw its way back into her mind. The fact that she would have to deal with what he would become and that he was gone. Taking a bite of the apple a tear began to form in her eye, "What am I gonna do now..." She muttered to herself after swallowing a bite. Eyes low Sophia took another small bite of the apple before speaking. "I need to change my bandages.. And.. I think my ankles either broken or sprained.. Hopefully just sprained.." She explained as she held out the bandages to him that she had sat down on the cushion next to her as she took the food. "I want them back but would you help me wrap my ankle..?" She asked "I'll need to change the arm ones as well but I can probably do that on my own." She said as she winced from moving, her body had started to ache all over from the bruises and cuts from the crash as she began to relax, not taking notice of it until now from the adrenaline from the crash and seeing a new face the cuts and bruises that covered her body from the broken glass were now beginning to show their ugly heads. "I'm sorry to be such a trouble." She finished in a sincere voice, Under normal circumstances every word she would utter would be some twist of fable and truth formed by her father to get what he wanted but she was to hurt to care to do anything like that now. She just wanted the pain to stop, and for her father to be back to life. "Why'd he have to hit that fucking walker..." She muttered as her hand caught her face as tears began to welt up in her eyes.

"Your no trouble." He hims before taking the bandages and gets to work, wrapping her ankle. "You can stay as long as you like just don't try to kill Orion and me in our sleep, it's bad guest manners."he attempts to joke before finishing with her ankle.

Sophia lay against he cushion of the sofa as she let Kayden wrap her ankle. Lucky for Sophia it was just bruised up really bad and a few hours of resting would allow the swelling to go down because something about this place just didn't seem like it was good. Looking around the room Sophia watched as the man finished up and she held out her hand for the bandages, taking them in quick order she stuffed them in the bag and secured everything again. "Thank you." She said with a nod as the man stood up to leave the room. She knew he would try to stop her if she told him that she was gonna leave so she didn't mention anything as he walked out. She had noticed that he brought some food and water from the kitchen for her and made note of that for the evening time.
Once the sun had set Sophia glanced around for any sign of Kayden or his pup before trying to put weight on her bandaged ankle, The pain wasn't nearly as bad as it was that morning, just a slight pinch when the full force of her body rested against it. "Thank you." She greeted one more time to the moonlit log walls. Making her way to the kitchen she found the source of the food he had brought her earlier that day and took a couple of items, from the back as to not be noticed, Stuffed them in her bag and made her way to the back door with a slight limp in her right foot. Slinging her fathers old rifle over her shoulder she gingerly lifted her bag strap over her wound and set it further up on her shoulder than she usually wore it. "It'll work." She mused as she carefully and quietly set out into the night.

Kayden had gone to hunt some game, which ended up being a small deer. He dragged it back to the cabin and walked in, looking around and noting that Sohpia wasn't there. He went into the kitchen, noting some of the missing items. He looked down at Orion and pet the pit on the head. "Looks like it's just us again, huh? Well, at least we helped her."
He draged the deer around the back of the cabin on onto a table and began to gut it with Orion laying down near Kayden.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
