A few hours had passed since the order to head to the zoo was given and it was snowing outside. The skies were gray as the light falling of crystal flakes bounced off the trucks they were driving to get to the National Zoo. He rode with Serena, with him driving a Mercedes Benz that was rarely used at the White House. It was a bit too luxurious to be used as a utility vehicle and although he knew it made him look terribly arrogant driving it, there was a point to it. He wanted to look like he was the one in charge, considering...he was. Three very well armed men were in the bed of the truck he was following where Eden was the prisoner. Sonya and Clayton were in the front with Sonya behind the wheel since she knew where she was going and Clayton was the newcomer to it all.
Eddie was in one of the other cars following the caravan until the cut off point when they were to drive up Beach Street to get to the back of the park. There were two other trucks in tow also loaded up with plenty of his soldiers that could get the job done quickly and easily. He was going to head to the front gates on Jewett following behind Sonya who had as their prisoner to exchange and negotiate with.
As the caravans parted, he waved his hand out the window to mark with Sonya, who he could trust to get this done efficiently and quickly. He stayed back, Serena with him and in the passenger seat as he spoke with the heat on, defrosting away all the ice. The short trip from the White House to the zoo only took about twenty minutes, but it was enough time for him to talk to Serena.
"Follow my instructions to the tee, Serena. Any misstep or hesitation will end up getting us all killed. I trust Sonya with my life because she does what is necessary. Eddie is just crazy enough to make sure the plan happens and I need you to be on point with all this. Clayton is the wildcard that I'm unsure of."
When he parked the car, he reached into the middle glove compartment and pulled out a handgun. He inspected it and checked to make sure it was loaded, which it was. "If he gets out of line, I will make sure he's dealt with the same way Argile's guards will be."
Serena had to know the seriousness of this situation now that he pulled out a gun, which was something he never did in front of her. He never really had to, but this situation was delicate and he wanted to ensure nothing went wrong. His eyes were different...harsh and cold. His mannerisms were sharp and his mind was on one thing right now; the taking of the Zoo.
