Life was different. Darker. In the perspective of Baron that is. His eyes gazed over the snowy playground before glancing back at his truck. Catching a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looked like somebody you'd see in a war movie. Dried up blood splattered on his face, full on army get up, and an assault rifle in hand. He couldn't believe how much things had chanced in just over two months which is how long its been since he's been with her.
The cold breeze blew though his curly hair as he withstand the temperature and stayed on task. He finished syphoning the gas from the truck and brought it over to the black SUV. He knew he had to make it look like he was dead. In some way. So leaving the truck in a ditch with the windshield busted out and walkers eating on the corpse of somebody else was the best way. Once the tank was full, he hopped in and started the engine, look on one last time at the scene he left for them. The walkers tearing away at the flesh of the man. Enjoying a long awaited meal.
The wheels rolled on by and he was back on the run. He didn't know the purpose of it all. Why it had to be the way it was. But he knew it felt right. It felt better than the burden of things to come if he hadn't done what he did. And he did a lot. All through out those two months he split from her, he made so many decisions. Deciding that every time, it was to right a previous wrong. That's what his life had become.

Flashback
Zephyr had finally gone to sleep after several minutes of silence. He knew she didn't want him chasing after the goons that took their car, but he had such an overpowering urge to do so, he couldn't listen to her. He felt she was just afraid and didn't want her to be. He didn't want her to think that they would ever be victims again. His overconfidence for his ability to take care of her, drove him to leave through the front gate of Six Flags and head on down the road, towards the direction the car went.
It had been roughly two hours and he was afraid that he wouldn't find them. That or Zephyr would wake up and freak out. He contemplated turning back. That it wasn't worth giving Zephyr a heart attack over. That is until he reached the peak of a cliff he was on and looked on over a small neighborhood. Long behold, the red car was parked right in front of a little blue house.
He didn't hesitate for a second. He held the pistol close to him and began walking down the side of the hill. His heart didn't skip a beat. He knew what he was going to do. He wasn't thinking about the consequences, but only the look on Zephyr's face when she seen the last memories of her son drive off into the sunset.

End of flashback
Night began to fall pretty hard and Baron caught himself feeling exhausted, considering he hadn't slept in two days. He decided to pull over into a ditch just as he saw two walkers roaming the side of the street. He stepped out of the SUV and drew his knife. Taking out the monster rather quickly before rubbing their blood and guts all over the vehicle. Secondly, he throws the bodies on top. One on the hood and the other on the roof. With it looks like no living being would be inside, he climbed in the back and got some much needed shut eye.
