Orbiting overhead in the Bronco - and with the Warhawk continuing its' own orbit nearby - Thomas could see from his low-altitude location how frantic the activity was around the target building. "Kevin, we gotta' divert those walkers away from that mansion or they're never going to survive," Thomas said over the radio. Looking around from above, he couldn't see any obvious choices to aim for.... "Kevin, if we can't divert the ones already there, can we at least prevent more from flooding in?" he asked.
"We could," Kevin replied, "what do you have in mind?"
"You've got high-velocity aerial rockets on that Warhawk, right?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah, why?" Kevin said; Thomas continued. "Well, if we can create a loud enough boom, the walkers will divert, right? The gnarlies are still attracted to noise, right?"
"Yeah, God only knows how after what, four years or so?" Kevin said. "And?"
"Well," Thomas said, flipping on the arming switch for the Bronco's on-board smoke rockets, "see that building about fifty, sixty yards away to the north?"
"Yeah," Kevin replied, adding, "what about it?"
"See the tanker truck nearby?" Thomas said. "I'll mark the target with smoke, you dive in and blast it; the explosion should provide enough of a diversion to get everyone from San Simeon back on the Skyvan so that they can take off. Once they're in the air, we'll follow them down, make sure they're safe." After a moment, he said, "Unless you've got any better ideas, I'm rolling in hot....now."

Michelle looked over to Brandon as she listened to him speak. After listening she responded. "I would be glad to follow you" she said with a small smile. "I have been walking around for a long time with no place to really rest." She said. She was glad that she came upon this place, and she was glad to be interacting with some human beings in which she hadn't had in a long time. She then began to follow Brandon and Dr. Alexander Pepper. She took notice of her surroundings. Even though she was happy to have found this place she also was hoping that these people were not crazy. She wondered how many people stayed here.
After taking in her surroundings she began to speak once more. "So, how long have you two been here, and about how many people stay here. I do not want to be a burden on anyone" she said as she spoke softly.

Walking back up the road with everyone, he took in the beauty of the day as he kept smiling. Hearing her ask about how many lived here and for how long. Alexander would speak up. "Brandon here along with his bosses group came here a few days ago. I came here about...two...maybe three months ago. Wow...time flies when you are working with these nice and fine people. When I came here, there was about 10-12 people in the castle, which included the Castle's Leader, Sarah Lyell Haru and her soon to be wife Masumi Lyell Haru. Brandon's Leader, Tamara Lyell is the twin sister of Sarah's and they brought about...what Brandon? 70-80 people?" Turning his head, he heard her about not wanting to be any sort of trouble about her being there.
"Ms. Wright, you wont be a burden. We have enough room for those that are lost in these lands that we once called Home. Now, we are trying to rebuild what life once was. You do your part here and everything will be just fine. Me, I'm a teacher. I teach the young minds of the next generations after us of what life use to be, how to read and write. I also teach them of the different plants and animals that are around the area as well as those that are edible. But when I can, I go out in the field and gather supplies when hands are short and what not in different areas."

Setting aside thoughts of who she'd just lost, Tegan turned as the two Scouts picked up the stretcher bearing Julie's corpse and began heading back to the Skyvan; turning around, she now had one mission: get Jason Kern out of the mansion alive. Going back to her HK-416, Tegan started walking over towards the mansion, casually - well, casually to anyone looking, that is - dropping walkers as she went along, pausing every so often to switch to her pistol and used it as well.
After a few minutes of dropping walkers - and following Mercy and the others to the mansion - Tegan stepped inside and yelled out, "Jason Kern, we've come to pick you up and take you back home!" ducking for a second as a stray round ricocheted near her; after getting her bearings back - and shooting another walker as she stood there, she added, calling out, "Now get on your feet, soldier; that's an order!" Walking over to a nearby stairway, she repeated her words, thinking, Come on, Kern, get moving....get moving.

"Jason Kern, we've come to pick you up and take you back home!" ducking for a second as a stray round ricocheted near her; after getting her bearings back - and shooting another walker as she stood there, she added, calling out, "Now get on your feet, soldier; that's an order!"
While trying to fish for the bag of her medical supplies, she felt less resistance from the knife. Looking up at him, he looked bewildered and confused as he looked down at Mercy. He moved the knife away from her and sheathed. She quickly slid away from him as she used her hands to propel herself across the room. Mercy was frightened of the man. Jason had snapped out of his blood crazy mind when he heard Tamara's voice yell up at him from the ground floor. Pushing himself to his right foot, Mercy took note that his left leg was limp and dragging his left foot behind him every time he hopped along towards the door. Picking up his rifle and spent pistol, he shoved the dresser out of the way and went through the carnage of what was left of the door and the upper floor. The native American gotten to her feet and grabbed her own things. Rushing over to him, she wrapped his arm around her shoulder and her arm around his waist to help balance him. The aviation Captain looked down at Mercy as he had a look of pain and sadness on his face and he whispered to her. "I'm sorry Mercy..."
She didn't say anything as she was breathing fast and hard, helping him down the stairs as they avoided what dead was around. "Wolverine, please take him. Your stronger then me. You will be able to move faster then I would be." Wolverine looked at Tamara and then at Mercy. But with logic have it, she was right. Rushing over to them, Wolverine swung his SAW behind him and took the weight off of Mercy and hurried Jason out of the mansion. Mercy looked at Tamara as she was in action. Shooting and taking names. Mercy tilted her head a bit as she admired at what she saw. A small smile came across her face as she took her pistol and began to cover Tamara and the rest of the Scouts that were still attacking the dead. Backing through the wall that had a massive hole in it -thanks to Wolverine and His machine gun-, Swapping into her last spare magazine that she had brought with her. Once she pushed on the button to release the slide and feeding a new round into the chamber. Her eyes saw a Walker coming up on Tamara. Aiming at it, she squeezed the trigger and put a bullet into it's head, causing it to fall backwards away from they're leader.
They had to hurry back to the plane before things had gotten even more heated for Clancy's liking. Hurrying along, she yelled for the scouts to hurry up to the plane and give them cover fire so that they can get into the plane. Mercy made sure that she stayed in stride with Tamara, for she wasn't going to let the leader of the group to linger behind without any sort of help. But when they reached the plane, she would stop Tamara and turn her to face the Native American female. Looking down at Tamara, Mercy would move in and hug her close to her in a comforting embrace. Breaking the hug, she climbed in and saw that Jason had passed out. Taking her bag off, she began to take her rubber gloves out and slid them on. Taking her tools out and began to check his injuries out. The injury she was more worried about was the one at his left knee. Whatever had punctured it was now long gone and causing him to bleed. Frowning, she looked at everyone. "I need a knife, fast!" Taking out a thread and needle, she began to patch the front of the wound until she was given a knife.
With the front wound is closed up, she took her Zippo out and began to heat up the tip of the knife until it was red hot. Rolling him onto his side, she lifted his leg up and placed the red hot knife onto the wound, closing the wound with the heat. The pain caused him to wake up and scream out in pain. Handing the knife back, she took out the syringe with morphine in it. Mercy climbed onto him and stuck him in the ass cheek, plunging the medicine into his blood stream. A few minutes later, he began to calm down until he then just fell asleep and was snoring up a storm. "Let's get the hell out of this hell zone."

Michelle listened to Dr. Pepper as he spoke. What he was saying didn't sound bad at all. She didn't mind doing her share, and putting in work to help out, but what would she do? Her working experience had to do with legal, and courtroom stuff. She thought for a few moments, and then spoke once again. "You sound like you are a wonderful teacher Dr. Pepper. I am sure those young minds get a lot from you" she said with a smile. "I am not sure how my skill sets would be of any use. You see my background has to do with legal stuff. I was once the District Attorney for Los Angeles" she explained. "But whatever you all need me to do I will do. I want to help you all just like you are helping me" she said as she glanced over to Dr. Pepper.
She then looked over to Brandon. "So, Brandon what do you do here to help out?" she asked.

After not hearing anything from the upstairs, Tegan was almost ready to yell once more when she saw Kern - assisted by Mercy and a couple Scouts. "Come on, come on," Tegan yelled, dropping another walker...still, there were more walkers pouring into the mansion. After dropping yet another walker, Tegan called out to them, "Alright, we are leaving! Let's go, Scouts, let's go!" smiling as she saw Mercy come up alongside her and walk with it as everyone began leaving the mansion, their resident aviator but with them but also with part of Tegan's heart ripped from her and now laying on a stretcher inside the Skyvan.
Falling back by pairs, the Scouts slowly made their way back to the Skyvan; as they headed out back to the aircraft, Tegan couldn't help but notice how Mercy was matching her virtually step-by-step as they moved along; as they reached the Skyvan, Mercy drew her close for a hug...returning the hug with one of her own, Tegan said quietly, "Let's go," nodding towards the aircraft. Climbing onboard the Skyvan, Tegan made her way upfront, pausing momentarily as she passed both Kern - who gave her a thumbs-up as she passed by, unaware of what had happened outside - and the stretcher with Julie's lifeless body on it. Hearing Clancy yell at her to hurry up and get to the cockpit, Tegan held up a finger as if to say, "Hold up," and knelt down next to the corpse....reaching behind her neck, Tegan undid a simple gold necklace, on which was the gold band Julie had given her back at Rikers Island all those months and months ago. Lifting the sheet discreetly so that no one saw her - not that it mattered to her, since everyone aboard knew who was underneath the plain white sheet - Tegan wrapped the necklace around Julie's hand and moved the hand back onto the stretcher, taking a moment's solace before getting up and climbing into the Skyvan's cockpit.
"You alright, Tamara?" Clancy asked, noticing the detached, silent look on Tegan's face...looking at her old friend and fellow veteran, she shook her head and quietly replied, "I don't want to talk about it, Clancy; let's just get up in the sky and go home, okay?"

"Yeah, 70...70 to 80 people, Alexander," Bam said when asked about how many people were at San Simeon....by his figures, there were roughly 60-65 Scouts; those who'd made it across the country from New York to California. Add those already at San Simeon and you reach a figure that's between 70 and 80 people total. As he followed the conversation between Ms. Wright and Dr. Pepper, Bam kept an ear peeled to the radio, paying attention to things as they went along outside San Simeon....
"I'm second-in-charge of Tamara's group," Brandon said. "Been working - and fighting when need be - alongside her going on nearly four years now. She's a good person; well, we all are...even the crazy ones over there," pointing towards Knoxville, Steve-O and McGehey, who'd joined them at the front gate." After a few moments, he added,"Our job is to keep this place safe and I'd like to think we've done a decent job of it thus far." After a few moments, he added, "If you'll come with us, we'll get your through a quick medical check and welcome you to San Simeon..."

As they walked up to the Castle. Alexander would turn around and take off his sunglasses. Looking at the woman with his old eyes, he would keep smiling to her as he would then say. "Welcome to San Simeon. Let's go inside and get something to eat and drink inside of your belly. And then, you can speak with Sarah and her wife Masumi. But like Brandon here said before me, you'll have to get checked out. Simple procedure to make sure your not bitten or injured. If you are injured, we have staff here that can take care of your injuries. Shall we step forth through the threshold and continue our journey? Or shall we just stand here and allow time to pass us by like a worm hole in the voids of space?"
