Looking over the message that she'd just sent over the MILNET, General Laura McArthur, the Commandant of Cadets at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York - known colloquially as "the Gibraltar of the Hudson" - she wondered if anyone else other than her old colleague and comrade-in-arms was still around...

RE: Outbreak Situation
Situation as known from here is as follows: Contact lost with National Command Authority and Pentagon-NMCC as of 1100 GMT; have attempted contacting alternate NCA command centers at Mt. Weather, Raven Rock and Site R...no contact from any of the three. NORAD is still functioning, though sealed up in CMC (Cheyenne Mtn Complex) as they are, I suspect their supplies (air, water, food, etc.) will eventually begin to run low.
Our situation here is somewhat better: in the absence of LTG Huntoon (whereabouts unknown), I have ordered the gates to the academy closed until further notice; no traffic - air or ground - allowed in or out. River traffic continues as normal but under military escort from Storm King down to Constitution Point. In terms of personnel, I have toe following...
--Infantry: 2 companies light infantry (Alpha & Delta Companies, 4-1 INF)
--Cadets: 1 provisional cadet company
--Staff: (counting both military & civilian) roughly 100 persons
--Total Number of Personnel: roughly 350-400 people
As for defenses, we currently have barricades set up along the academy's outer perimeter stretching from North Dock (near Storm King) to South Dock (adjacent Constitution Point) and have sufficient supplies and equipment to hold out for extended period.
