"Wait. Max got you pregnant," Brian asked, a little hurt his friend hadn't said anything. "He didn't tell me. I'm glad we're coming to the farm. I've never delivered a baby. Was with my wife when she had mine though," he said s little saddened, "well when it does happen I'm sure you two will e wonderful parents. Max will protect the kid, that much is certain."
When Abby moved to get dressed Brian moved to the shelves. The base had ther own water supply, mostly from large tanks out back. He grabbed a few bottles they had filled a brought it to the stand beside Max.
"I'm sure he'd remember the good stuff. Max isn't really a thinker, probably wouldn't dwell on it," Brian laughed from behind the curtain. "When you two were talking in here earlier you seemed fine." He watched her come out and moved out of her way. Putting all his weight on his crutches he smiled, "want something to eat? Could have Louis bring you some food. I placed some water on the table beside you there."
He watched as she climbed in with Max. "Hard to say. Could be out a couple hours, all night. Even could be out about fifteen minutes. Depends how hard Pete hit him. Judging on the wound I'd say a few hours." He looked at the two of them, "would you rather me stay? Or leave you two alone?"

"Well there's some bigger cities. I had some cousins in some. Though I think the bigger cities are probabaly over run," Sam said opening his beer. He took a sip and smiled, "how are we supposed to help? We have dupplies here but I'm not really handy. Amber is th most ou of all of us. I'm good with milk crates, or ikea furniture." He laughed, "we could always use vehicles to make the wall. I'm sure there's enough here. Thought most are empty, and small."
Louis just laughed and took a sip, "we have big water tanks out back. Use that for showers and drinking. Besides that we have guns, lots of guns, and ammo. He have a few food reserves. There's two big transport vehicles we can load with it. There's a crane out back we can use to lift stuff onto it. Hell we load down the ramps and we can bring the crane. Sure that would come in handy. There's also Ambers Humvee. A baby compared to what you came in but it's still good, had a turret on the top."
--- Amber picked herself up. She slowly moved with Becky to the door. Whiping away tears she looked at her, "thanks Becky. You're a good friend." She took the girls hand and smiled. "Are we actually going with these people? They killed one of us? How would we even begin to be okay with that."
"Didn't Pete try and hurt them both though. They were justified. They're are only hope now Amber," Becky said lookig at her, "come let's go back with Louis and Sam. I'm sure they are bugging charles."
"You're rigt. We need to move on. Tomorrow we will pack up. Then we'll leave. It will be as simple as that. Maybe letting go will be go good, leavig will help," Amber smiled as she walked into the Mess hall. She looked at Charles, "these two weren't bugging you were they," she saw louis grab two beers for the girls and Amber opened hers on the table. She took a sip and smiled, "were you boys talking shop?"
Becky stood Beside Chalres, leaning on the table beside him, "do you need furniture at you farm? We have comfy beds. You should try them."
"Your already helping, the water and food is going to be an immense help, it's why we came here. And ideas are another thing. With only a couple of us we only have so many of those between us. I like the car idea. If we run an electrified wire across it the whole thing would be electrified."
He took another sip of his beer. They had so many things that the farm would need. With their help the work that would have taken their small group months could be done in weeks.
"That crane will be amazing. We could get the wall up in no time. Sammy, Louis, you keep pumping out ideas like that and we'll be gold."
He looked to Amber and Becky when they came in. He could tell that Amber had been crying but he didn't say a word. He smiled at Becky, though that may have been a mistake.
"We could use the beds too, unless you guys want to be sleeping on hay. Speaking of which I am exhausted. Any other questions can get answered tomorrow at the farm."
