"Well, they don't call me the Fighting Pastor for nothing, Hollis," Pastor Stephenson said as they stood near the front gate, weapons at the ready and radios nearby. Back towards San Simeon, it looked like a virtual car park with numerous trucks, a couple of buses and at least - from what the Pastor could see - two horse trailers parked around the Main Castle. Gonna' have to talk to Sarah sometime, he mused as they stood there, about getting our new visitors to move their vehicles around some.
"Why do they call you that, Pastor?" Hollis Wright asked.
"Well, its' a long story," Pastor Stephenson began, but before he could continue.... Yo pinheads! Someone wanna open the god dam gate? Coming in hot. Open it or it's getting smashed through! someone called out over the radio.
After a few moments of "what did I just hear?" looks between them, Pastor Stephenson said, "Open the gate, Hollis; I'll call it in," grabbing his radio from his belt. "Sarah, this is Pastor Stephenson," he said, stepping back as Hollis quickly swung the gate open, "I've got vehicle traffic coming up the Access Road; what do you to do?" He'd made the decision under most circumstances, but given the number of newcomers they had at present, he figured he'd let Sarah make the decision instead...

Jon kept very still as he sat on the hill. He could hear the Pastor from where he was. Not saying the man was very loud, but he could hear calling himself the Fighting Pastor. As he was about to Radio to him to keep his voice down a bit, the Marine Sniper heard Buster over the radio yelling that people better open the gate or he was going to smash his way through it. The pastor gave the order to open the gates and radioed to Sarah Lyell (Tamara's twin sister he found out recently) about what he and the guards at the gate should do. Smirking to himself, he raised the radio to his mouth and pushed in the button. His voice was low and quiet, almost like a whisper, but a few despicable's higher then just a whisper. "Fighting Pastor, I got you guys covered from where I'm at....you make it sound like you were a boxer at one time. The man on the other end of that radio, his name is Buster. He tends to be over dramatic at times. Don't worry, it's nothing you and your fists of glory can't handle."
Putting the Radio back under the Ghillie suit, he moved himself a bit as he saw Buster gunning his way up the drive and in through the Gated area. Jon's Rifle was already up and was aiming. He saw a few people in the Van that he was driving. Jon just raised an eyebrow as he just looked at them all. Thinking to himself, 'Nothing like a drive with the family in the old Family Van, eh?' A smile came across his face as his finger rested on the trigger in case something went wrong. Aiming up a bit, he saw a few walkers following behind them. Grabbing the Radio, he pushed the button. "Pastor, shut them gates fast. We have a few dead walking up the road. I'll dispatch them. Going loud." From where Buster was sitting, he would see a bush on a hill in front of him. Then a few flashes of a rifle would be seen and Heard as Jon took out the dead. Once the gate was to be closed, Jon stood up and pulled the hood back off his head to show himself. With the stock of the rifle resting on his hip, he walked down from the hill and down towards the Van.

Hearing Masumi answer Jenna's question, telling her that she could both play a piano and sing caused Sarah to momentarily facepalm - not physically, but mentally - running a hand through her short-cut hair and going, "Ohh, I know you've mentioned those things, Masumi; I didn't even think about it..." in an almost sad voice...almost in that Sarah was sure that Masumi had mentioned it before; it'd just escaped her mind at that moment. Then she remembered Masumi singing over the radio and it really hit her that she'd had a momentary brain freeze.
Looking over at Masumi, Sarah said, "I'm sorry; I just remembered your singing over the radio and it dawned on me that I just flat forgot....," reaching over to give Masumi a hug. It made Sarah feel awful, just awful, to have forgotten Masumi's beautiful singing and it showed in her voice and tone...."I hope you forgive me for it, my beautiful Masumi...."
Masumi looked at Sarah and saw the sadness on her face and eyes. Stepping right up to Sarah, she wrapped her arms around her lover and held her close to herself. Leaning her head against Sarah's, her hand gently slid up and down Sarah's back as she swayed them. Whispering, she said to her. "You have nothing to be sorry for my lovely Sarah. You have so much on your plate. With all these new arrivals, your sister and her family with them. It's a lot to take in at once. So don't worry about forgetting babe. It's part of life to have a brain fart every now and then.." Masumi would then begin to hum to Sarah to try and make her feel better. Sniffing the air, she began to smell the scent of what it to be of seafood. "Seems to me Larry is up to his cooking spree again. What would you like to do since everyone is settling into they're rooms and re-" She was cut off by Pastor Barry who was asking on what they should do about the arrival coming to the gate. Sighing to herself, she kissed Sarah's forehead. Then a man said he was keeping an eye on them in case something was coming, then a few rifle shots were heard. Shaking her head, she looked at her sister.
"Seems your sister brought in a good security team with her. Maybe they can teach some of our group to shoot better? -Unhooking her radio on her hip, she pushed in the button.- Barry, have them checked over. Need to know what state of mind they are in right now before we let them into our home. When you find out and if you think we can trust them, let them in. I trust your judgement good Ol' Fighting Pastor, Paul I want you down there to help the good Pastor as well. -then she let go of the button to look at her soon to be wife again.- Well, now that is taken care of. Let's spend some time together. We haven't had a moment by ourselves in a while love. Anything comes to you for us to do my Goddess Sarah?"
Masumi had a twinkle in her eyes as she looked at Sarah with a smile on her face that reached into her eyes. The sight of happiness and joy. Leaning to her face, she kissed them soft lips. holding her close. Each of them feeling each other's hearts beating under the flesh and bones of they're bodies. Breaking the kiss, her eyes opened up to show the bright blue eyes that Sarah loved to see. The left hand came up to rest on the cheek of Sarah's face as her thumb gently slid back and forth, staring into the eyes of her lover, her soon to be wife, her Soul Mate.

Just as Pastor Stephenson and Hollis got the gate open, the Pastor's radio cackled to life; it was their eyes on the nearby ridge... . "Fighting Pastor, I got you guys covered from where I'm at....you make it sound like you were a boxer at one time. The man on the other end of that radio, his name is Buster. He tends to be over dramatic at times. Don't worry, it's nothing you and your fists of glory can't handle."
"Copy that," Pastor Stephenson replied, adding, "remind me to tell you the story behind the sobriquet....hint: it wasn't for boxing--" "Pastor, shut them gates fast. We have a few dead walking up the road. I'll dispatch them. Going loud."
"Got it," Pastor Stephenson replied, pointing towards the gate as Buster roared by like he was a Blues Brothers returning from a mission to God or something of that nature. "C'mon, Hollis, let's shut the gates," he said, just as another voice came over the radio... Barry, have them checked over. Need to know what state of mind they are in right now before we let them into our home. When you find out and if you think we can trust them, let them in. I trust your judgement good Ol' Fighting Pastor, Paul I want you down there to help the good Pastor as well." It was Masumi, letting him know help on its' way up to them. "Paul should be up here in a little bit to help us," Pastor Stephenson said as he looked around and saw someone - likely the shooter on the ridge from earlier - "as soon as he gets here, secure this gate and watch the road while we get our guests checked out and settled in."

Holding Masumi close to her, Sarah listened as she comforted her over her moment of brain fade... "You have nothing to be sorry for my lovely Sarah. You have so much on your plate. With all these new arrivals, your sister and her family with them. It's a lot to take in at once. So don't worry about forgetting babe. It's part of life to have a brain fart every now and then.." humming to her in an effort to bring Sarah's spirits up.
It worked; as Masumi continued humming to her, Sarah looked up at her fiance and kissed her, continuing to hold her, though like Masumi, Sarah began to smell the fragrant smells of someone fixing a seafood dinner. Must be Larry do his culinary bit, Sarah mused, the feelings of sadness going away quickly - though it wasn't the only thing that brought her back to her usual stuff; like Masumi, Sarah had heard the radio traffic and knew they had visitors coming - not Tamara and her group but new visitors - and so got her head and mind back to the present.... Well, now that is taken care of. Let's spend some time together. We haven't had a moment by ourselves in a while love. Anything comes to you for us to do my Goddess Sarah?" Masumi whispered, hugging her close as they caressed each other, oblivious to the world around them. "Well....," Sarah whispered, a sly smile crossing her lips, "...we could always take another dip in the Neptune Pool," sliding her hand down and giving Masumi a sultry squeeze, "and really give them something to talk about...," winking at Masumi as she leaned forward, resting her head on Masumi's chest and feeling a lot better than she had earlier.

Masumi, smiling at seeing her wife to be was smiling and feeling better about the matter. She always worried about her dear Sarah. Feeling the Squeeze made her jump in excitement. Smiling when she was told about the idea that her sweet heart had in mind. Thinking a bit to herself as her hands went sliding down as well and squeezed her in response. "Wouldn't want to have your sister feeling bad that we teach them a few new tricks on how to make earthquakes on Zesus great earth and even on Mount Olympus itself. Hell, we might even make the Earth Shatter under all of our Love. But sure...let's get ourselves back into that pool." Masumi slowly undid her shirt in front of her wife and whoever else would see her to do so. Letting her wife to take in the sight of her soon to be Japanese wife.
Post by Parker Watson on Nov 5, 2016 18:53:15 GMT -5
Parker sat in the back seat of Buster and Taylor's car, he then saw San Simeon and watched in awe. His sister getting all excited. They found somewhere safe, where they can relax. He then sees the gates open and see them talking into radios. Before they opened he could hear Buster screaming into the radio about busting them gates open if they didn't hurry up.
As they passed through he glanced over his shoulder and saw a few walkers limping up towards the gates. He sighed as he saw everyone getting ready for him and his family's arrival. Parker had never been so thankful and excited in his life. Buster and Taylor have been the best thing that's happened to his family. He smiled in glee along with his sister, however, even the newfound safehouse still had no affect on Jenny, she was gloomy and she had no reaction whatsoever, her life was sucked out of her. He could understand her loss, especially after he lost Isla (his girlfriend who he lost at the beginning of the outbreak) "I can't wait to finally have a good nights rest" he smiles to himself as his sister nods.
Buster was driving like a mad man. Slinging his passengers all over the place. Once she even ended up falling right into his lap….and he still drove on the like cold collected asshole he could be. She righted herself and gripped the passenger door to keep herself steady. ”Fuck Buster! What goods it gonna do us to rush if you wreck and kill us?” A glance to the backseat revealed the other passengers appeared alright if not thrilled at being taken in. All but one, she still seemed rather gloomy. Taylor still had a bone to pick with Parker. Getting up in her face back at the door had pissed her off….but she was going to let it slide…for now at least. Let the guy recover from the death that had apparently turned him into a wailing jackass.
The barreled through the gates that sprang open in the nick of time. When the cat stopped Taylor hopped out and shut her door louder than needed…partially to let Buster know that she didn’t enjoy his attempts at becoming a race car driver. Her hazel eyes flicked over to him and to the welcoming party. Buster needed to be checked over as well….His ribs, his hand, and his shoulder if for nothing else than a cleaning to avoid infection. “You better let them look at you.” She said in a nonchalant voice. But she was worried for him, even if she wouldn’t admit it.
She looked back at the people in the car. Thankfully they were out of her hands now. She just wasn’t a people person….Especially when people liked to act crazy.
Ace was on his way out of the kitchen when he ran into jenna and knocked her on her ass. He was about to start shoutin to watch where hell they were going when he saw who it was and shut right up. HE had just been thinking about her in fact and here she was. She looked up and her eyes went wide as her gun skidded across the floor. Ace stopped it with his foot and picked it up and handed it back after checking it over.
Ace: Well carefull lass, ye liable to shoot someone's foot off doing that shite.
He said with a sly smile. He was joking of course.
jenna: "There be the man who stole me heart a few hours ago. I thought you were still sleeping? Oh...I hope I didn't wake you when I woke up from me Nightmare? I'm sorry."
Ace: Ah, it's ok darling, couldn't sleep much anyhow with the way you was snoring. *Ace was smiling at her.* But I didn't mind watching ye sleep.
Ace felt her hand slip inside his. Moments before he ran into Jenna he was leaving the kitchen and heard Buster coming in over the radio for Ace to meet him at the gate. That's where he was headed as he bumped into Jenna. She walked along with him holding hands and Ace listened as she talked..
Jenna: "So...about earlier...I-I hope it wasn't...just a one time thang...if you are...I'm ok with dating you Ace....but if it was...just a simple...fling...then I guess I'd have to accept it then."
When she mentioned the later part of the sentence, the part about it being a fling, her voice became a bit sad as her eyes then trailed down to the floor.
Ace seemed to consider it among with great thought and then he smiled at her.
Ace: Sure why not? I got nothing going on and ye know I haven't actually told ye this yet, but you're dam sexy.
Ace pulled his hand out of hers and slipped it in her backpocket to feel the shapely curve of her ass as she walked along. He pushed the door open and stepped outside. He saw Buster and company piling out of a cupcake van. Well this is interesting he thought. Buster seemed fucked up. Everyone else for the most part was fine. Taylor was walking away in a huff so Ace didn't even bother to ask her if she was fine. She looked pissed and he wanted nothing to do with that. He quickly looked over Buster. He had a knife wound the shoulder. It wasn't seriously deep but he'd have to stitch it up later and then he dismissed the glass entirely as that was minor.
Ace: Pick that glass out when ye get a chance. Pour some alcohol on it. Ye should fine.
Ace felt the Buster's ribs carefully after having him life his arm. They weren't broken just tender. Ace recommended he wrap them tight and try not to move around to much. His skinny little white ass was going to be black and blue all over tomorrow but he'd live. Ace turned his attention to the three new arrivals. He took a glance back at Jenna and smiled. Looking back at the three new arrivals he began to check them over. They had no bites, not major injuries. The mom seemed to be in shock, the youngish guy seemed to be riding an emotional high of sadness and happiness. Ace was medic not a shrink he could only kiss the boo boo's bed not make the emotional owwey's go away. Ace cleared them and sent them to see Tamara. Lifting his radio he pressed down the buttom.
Ace: Alright these people seem to be ok. Physcially anyways. I don't know who to pass'em along to but Tegan ye want to meet with the new arrivals along with ye sister and welcome them to San Simeon? I got a date.
Ace tucked away his radio and walked over to Jenna and kissed her softly. He smiled at her and put his arm around her waist before walking off with her.
Ace: Come on darling, lets see if this mansion has a pool.

Buster's voice came over the radio..... All scouts who had them turned on heard his trasmission and this time they listened to it. Buster: Hey assholes.... It's Buster. We're bringing back a few survivors we found out here. A kid and his Mom and Sister. Have that shithead Ace meet us at the gate so we can get someone with some medical training to check these guys out. Buster out!
Tegan kept an ear on the radio as two of Thomas's PST - Thomas and Stephanie - kept an attendant eye around for anything out of the ordinary. "Sounds like something's going on," Tegan said quietly to them; for someone who just a few months ago she'd wanted to throw into the East Bay off Long Island back at Rikers', Tegan had to admit that Stephanie Harrington really knew her stuff. In the weeks since she joined the Scouts - and specifically, the Personal Security Team (PST) that stayed around Tegan at all times - Stephanie had proven her worth and proven that, somehow, she'd changed since escaping the Hive months ago; indeed, Tegan & Stephanie had discussed that very topic several times and they'd agreed to bury the proverbial hatchet once and for all.
"No kidding, boss," Stephanie replied, one ear glued to the radio as they heard another message coming over the air... Alright these people seem to be ok. Physcially anyways. I don't know who to pass'em along to but Tegan ye want to meet with the new arrivals along with ye sister and welcome them to San Simeon? I got a date.
Keying the mic on her radio, Tegan spoke... "Copy, Ace; on my way outside." Looking at Thomas and Stephanie, she added, "let's go see who they brought in, okay?"
Smiling beaming off her face, they walked together. He slid his hand out of her hand and only to feel it slide into her back pocket. She looked up at the blue sky, shaking her head as she still smiled. Her arm wrapped around his waist as they walked down a bit until he had to go check on the new comers. Seeing buster busted up, she felt bad that he was hurt. But she saw Taylor walking away from him. Jenna had heard what had happened with David, Taylor and Buster. Almost everyone knew what had happened. While her love was busy, she ran back to the Castle and bolted up the Staircase. People heard her coming and moved out of the way. When she was on her floor and went straight for her room. Going into it, she looked for her guitar and saw the Acoustic on the floor. Picking it up, she held onto it by the neck of it and ran back down to the ground floor, and even passing Taylor. Hurrying outside, she was out of breath. It felt good to run like that again. Jenna hadn't been able to do such in a long time. Placing it over her shoulder, she walked right over to Ace as he had just finished radioing to Tegan.
He met her half way and kissed her softly. After the kiss, he his arm around her waist. Jenna was happy and felt wanted. Walking with him, they went to the back of the Castle and saw Masumi with Sarah having a moment together. Turning Ace and herself around to avoid embarrassing not just themselves, but to they're hosts. As they now walked to the front, her eyes looked at the mansions a little ways down the road, they all had a pool. Her eyes looking up at him as she said to him. "Let's go down to them. It'll be more private since everyone seems to be up here looking over the Castle." They both went right for them and walked into the back of the one that had more privacy in the back yard with the pool. Looking at the water, she kicked off her shoes and took off her socks. Taking her rifle and pistol off of herself, she set them down onto a small table. Leaning the guitar up against it, she rolled her jeans leggings up past her knees. Picking up the guitar, she walked over to the water and sat down at the edge.
When she sat down, the radio on her hip's button was pushed in activating everyone's radio. They began to hear her strumming her guitar humming for a brief moment. Her New York accent was heard as she began to sing a song that has now been long and forgotten by most since music had seemed to die off when Humanity went down the toilet. Her's eyes were on Ace as she sang and played, Where is my Mind by Pixies.
"Ooh, stop With your feet in the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse But there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind Where is my mind Where is my mind Way out in the water See it swimmin'
I was swimmin' in the Caribbean Animals were hiding behind the rock Except the little fish But they told me, he swears Tryin' to talk to me koi koy
Where is my mind Where is my mind Where is my mind Way out in the water See it swimmin'
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse If there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind Where is my mind Where is my mind Way out in the water See it swimmin'
Ooh With your feet in the air and your head on the ground Ooh Try this trick and spin it, yeah Ooh Ooh"

As the survivors at San Simeon went about whatever it was they were doing their radios began to crackle to life. It was a message from Julie. Calling out desperately trying to reach her wife. The situation was dire. More than Julie had bargained for. Julie was at the hospital on a supply run with Mercy Lockheart. They were trapped in a room that Mercy had barricaded to keep the dead out, but it wouldn't hold forever. Julie looked at the radio in her hand. She could call for help. She knew Tegan would send people and they'd be here right away, but the gunshots probably drew more of them from the city of the dead. The building was likely surrounded. It was a hopeless unwinnable scenario. Julie knew Tamara would come herself. She couldn't put her in anymore danger. Not after the last time when she nearly died trying to get to her. No, this was one rescue mission that wasn't going to be mounted. Not on her account. She got people killed the last time they tried to save her. Poor Barry, she thought as she closed her eyes clutching the radio tightly. Julie leaned back against the wall and slumped to the floor. She fell on her ass and sat there with her legs stretched out in a V-shape. Julie messed with the radio trying to get it to the right frequency until she was sure she had found it. The hand not holding the radio dangling in her lap. Julie sent out what were to be her final words to her wife. A tear slid down her face. It was pain, sadness, depression and relief. Julie pressed down the button and began to speak.....
Julie: You there Tamara? Can you hear me? *Julie didn't wait for a response... It was more about the catharsis of getting what she had to say off her chest. She didn't want a two sided conversation because sbe didn't want Tamara trying to convince her to let her send people out so Julie held down the button the whole time and didn't give Tamara a chance to interrupt her.* I can remember how scared I used to be. Frightened squirrel flinchin at the wind everytime it blew...... *Julie's voice was soft and haunting as if she was imagining everything she was saying.* That was before I met you, you taught me how to fight, taught me how to lead..... You taught me how to survive. You saved my life at a time when I didn't thank there was much'ta save. You pulled me back from the flames and kept the scary shit of the world off my front porch the best'ya could. But, you keep hiding from the scary shit and eventually it kicks your door in.....*Julie wiped her eye.* You remember that time in Yankee stadium? God, feels like another lifetime. You held me close in the bullpen and we kissed? I knew, right then; right in that moment that I would do anything for you........ *Julie was aware that Mercy was probably starting at her but she didn't care. Mercy didn't exsist in this moment, the whole world ceased to exsist in this moment that was just between Julie and Tamara.* I can't tell ya how glad I am that I was able to help you make it'ta Sarah...... I honestly didn't thank she was even alive, but you never doubted it........YOU KNEW. You were always the brave one Tamara. You gave me strength when I felt weak. You gave me light when I was wrapped in darkness. You will raise our son to be a good man, a good leader. I don't thank i'll be making it back from this run honey. * Julie uttered a startled gasp and flinched with shrink wrapped tears in her eyes as soft thuds hit the door. The clawing hands of the dead trying to get in and rip them apart* Have a margarita for me with Sarah....... Tell the kids I love'em. Keep everybody safe........ *Julie's voice was now flat, serious and with a hint of crying. This was the first time she sounded as if she was crying. The rest of the transmission sounded as if she was recalling happy memories.* I love you Tamara.....
Julie let go of the button and cut off the radio. Julie knew that the group probably didn't know what hospital they were at. She took the radio and chucked it at the wall in frustration that she had gotten into this situation. She leaned her head back on the wall and looked over to Mercy who was sitting there beside her. Julie's hand swept over her cigerettes and snatched them up before removing one and lighting it up. She exhaled a cloud of smoke and accepted death. Julie watched for the door to buckle and the dead to eat her alive.
Julie Archer- Lyell has leaft the thread...... ( Will be returning to the thread " a run for medicine turns into a run" )

Stepping outside of the Main Castle's front entrance, Tegan looked around for the newcomers Ace spoke of her radio - and everyone's there, both her group and Sarah's - cackled with static, then....

For what seemed like forever, Tegan stared at the radio, too afraid to say anything lest' she break down and cry right then and there; everyone stared at her, waiting for her to do something - anything - but no one said anything for fear of upsetting her. Walking back-and-forth for several moments, Tegan quickly thought up a plan. You just hang in there, Peach, she thought as she coughed to get everyone's attention nearby. "Alright," she began, motioning for as many people to get to her position as possible, "we got a rescue mission to mount; we do not have a location, though, as of yet," which was true as Julie hadn't mentioned where she was at.
"Now," taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down, " this is strictly volunteer; Julie and at least one other person are in deep trouble outside San Simeon and I need volunteers, as many as possible. Pass the word over the radios; we leave in five minutes. Let's be about it, people!" Tegan called out, running towards one of the Tundras' as fast as possible, thinking, Hang on, Peach, just hang on....
Post by Stephanie Harrington on Nov 6, 2016 22:01:26 GMT -5
Almost as soon as Tegan made her call for volunteers, Stephanie stepped forward. "I'll go," she said, without any trace of hesitation; before anyone around her could say anything, she continued. "No, I'll go...and here's why: Tegan, you could've easily told me to go to hell or that I wasn't welcome when your people ran into me and Henry and Ali and Chance, but you didn't and appreciate it. Its' the least I can do, boss....and as a member of your PST, I'd like to add that 'no, you don't get to argue the point, boss,'" giving Tegan a stare that said she was going, no ifs ands or buts about it.

The Marine Sniper watched the small family standing there, they were talking among themselves until they heard and saw Tamara with Stephanie walking towards them. But they're radios crackled and finally beeped. The sound of the sad speech of Julie. Her speaking of older memories. Jon felt sad for a brief moment until his Marine training kicked in. Running at full speed up the road. Sliding into the Tundra Jamal was driving. Looking around, he was looking for the keys. Growling out loud, he was about to just stab his Ka-Bar into the ignition. But that was when Jamal walked out. He was reaching for his gun until he saw it was Jon. Running over, Jon had his hand out stretched for Jamal. Fishing through his pockets, he brought out the keys and gave to him.
Preacher put the key into Ignition, he said to Jamal. "Since I'm a Recon leader, your coming with us. We got a Wife to retrieve. We bring her back one way or the other, you got that Jamal?" The man with them big ass dumbo ears nodded his head and climbed into the bed of the truck with his M-4 at the ready. Jon drove it around and pulled up to a incoming Tegan and Stephanie. The marine sniper leaned to Tamara and said to her. "Hello, did you call for a Marine Corp Driver Cab? If so, all a board." David had limped his way to Tamara and jumped into the passenger side front door. His M-16 was in his hands as he strapped himself down in the seat. When everyone was driving, Jon reached down and grabbed the road map and handed it back to Tamara. "Your my eyes on the roads Boss. You tell me where to turn, you tell me where and when."

Walking with purpose, Tegan - now joined by Stephanie and at least a few others - stopped as one of the Tundras' pulled up next to them... "Hello, did you call for a Marine Corp Driver Cab? If so, all a board." Preacher said from the driver's seat.
"Bout time you jarheads pulled your weight," Tegan quipped as she climbed into the passenger seat while the others climbed into the back, slowing as Pastor Stephenson ran at a full trot to join them before taking off at a dead run down the access road back towards the PCH. Taking the map from Preacher, Tegan quickly oriented the map to where they were and got on the radio. "Sarah, Masumi, this is Tegan; we're heading out on a rescue mission to pick up Julie and Mercy....I think Julie mentioned something about going to Sierra....," pausing to look at the map, "...Sierra Vista or somewhere near there to pick up medical supplies. Now, this is your neck of the woods; if I were going there, where I go to pick up medical supplies?" A dumb question, sure, but they needed to know exactly where to go.
"Turn here, onto the PCH," Tegan said quietly to Preacher as she waited for a reply from San Simeon...

Parker saw everyone planning a rescue mission. As Jenny and Tara asked them to join them as they mourned River. Parker wanted to prove his family deserved to stay here. He wanted to help. He walked over and joined the group he stood and watch them as they planned their rescue mission. He took a deep breath. "I want to help" he stood there and waited for a response as they all looked at him.
"I want to help prove I deserve to be here. Let me help you find your friends. I want to help, after what you've done for my family, its the least I could do" he smiles and joins them. He wasn't going to let them bargain with him or say he couldn't he was going to do it no matter what. He thought to himself 'this better be worth it. I need to come back alive, doing this for you dad' he smiles lightly and gives them the look of 'what are we doing' he smiles knowing he is helping a damsel in distress.

Looking around as they prepared to leave, Pastor Stephenson saw someone walk over to them and tell them that he would come with them. "You're alive, that's all that counts," the Pastor told the man, climbing onboard the Tundra and helping the rest of the rescue team climb aboard the back of the truck. "Well, come on then," he told the man, holding a hand out for him as they finished getting ready to go, "Come on," he called out to the man once more, waiting for him to climb aboard so that they could get going down the access road.

Parker nods as a middle-aged looking man said that it didn't matter. So he looked back to his family and started to decide isn't really worth saving someone he didn't know, putting his life at risk. He looked back at the man who extended an arm out to him asking him to get in. He nodded taking his arm getting into the jeep.

As they reached the Pacific Coast Highway and began heading down the highway, Tegan got her radio out from the center dash and keyed the mic. "Julie?" she said, releasing the mic button for a moment before pressing it down again. "Julie, this is Tegan. Listen, we're on our way to you now...tell us where you're at, okay, so we can pick you up?" she said, looking out the window before adding, "Please, Julie, just hang on, my Georgia belle, just hang on, okay?" her voice breaking up a little bit. "Just hang on, okay?"
Looking over at Preacher, Tegan said quietly, "Floor it."
