David was changing the tires on his Suburban since It was towed with flats. Buster ran over something that blown them out. Wiping his forehead of sweat since he wasn't fully 100%. His left thigh was starting to ache in pain as he hadn't let it rest fully. He was remembering what Taylor had said to him, her tone she gave him about how he didn't visit her. How was one to visit when they were bed ridden and only Half a leg? How could one figure out when someone was when they didn't stay in the same room or if anyone else didn't know where she was from time to time. Shaking his head, he pushed himself up and bit hard down on his lip as a Jolt of pain shot through him. The pain was getting to him as he stood there and took the weight off his left leg. His eyes looked through the windows of his SUV and saw Taylor sitting by the river. David was going to go over to her and talk to her, but here came Buster. The two began to talk for a long while...then David's heart sank and felt like it blew up upon hitting the ground. He watched as Buster Kissed Taylor. Looking away, he closed his eyes as he heard her voice faint say. "Not bad for a white boy." And David lost it. Limping now into the building he was staying, he went up the stairs, avoiding everyone and ignoring everything. He went into his room and shut the door behind him. Anger filled his mind as she sat down at the table. With shaking hands, he pulled out a pack of Cigarettes and his lighter and light it up. Shaking his head over and over again, he didn't know what he was going to do. The first thing that came to mind was his gun. Pulling the .357 out of the Holster, his eyes just looked over it. Pain now swam it's way through him, sewing through his soul like a needle to thread. Taking a deep drag from the Cig, he blew it out fast. The burning feeling was dull compared to what he felt in his heart.
Getting up after flicking the ash into the Ashtray, he looked at the Bed, then to the bathroom. Where they spent those moments together. Tears began to slide down his face as he remembered him explaining to her how he wasn't able to have kids since she was afraid that he might have knocked her up. Closing his eyes, he shook his head slowly. Those moments were haunting him, thinking he could hear her voice off the walls as they spent those moments together. His mind felt like it was having a mental break. Limping to a small desk, he pulled out a notepad and a pen. Walking back to the table he sat down in the chair and flicked the ash again. Smoking the last of the Cigarette, he flicked it out of the window, Not caring what or who it hit. Blowing out the smoke, he picked up the pen and began to write on the Pad of paper.
"Dear Tegan,
I'm leaving the group to distance myself from a couple of people. One who ran from helping me, and the one who barely remembers me. They both shared a meaningful kiss and I bared to witness such an action. Please Tamara, watch over my brother for I don't know if I will ever be there for him and his new Girlfriend. Tell him I'm sorry for not being around anymore. I will keep going west to California. If we are on the same road or path, I'll leave markers for you to show I was there or not. Sitting here writing this, I think of Suicide. So I think it is for the best that I leave the group for if I do, I don't want anyone to have any heartache of trying to bury my large sexy body. I hope to see all you again. I'm sorry boss, I hope you can forgive me. This is hard for me as it maybe hard for you to read. But I hope you understand I'm trying to choose life over Damnation.
Sincerely,
Detective David Forest."
Ripping the Letter, he grabbed a letter opener and set them both on the table. Grabbing his gear, he went outside and loaded his SUV. Everyone was busy with what was going on at the Medical center. But he wasn't Caring. Limping back up the staircase, he grabbed the letter and the letter opener and stabbed them both into the Exterior of his room so it was Visible for ALL to read it and hopefully, the letter would get to Tegan.
With a minute later, he jumped into his SUV and turned it on. Putting it into Reverse, he gently drove backwards and put it into drive. Turning the wheel, he drove to the Bridge and drove away. No one would hear or see from him again for a long while, or even if none at all. The last thing people would see was the Silver Suburban driving across the bridge, going towards the heart of Detroit.
