Julie watched as Tamara talked about her sister and she loved the way her face lit up. She was so sure that her sister was alive. It must've been nice to have that confidence in the unknown. Julie knew that when she left Lane last he wasn't doing so good. Mentally the cracks were showing and he was a danger to himself and others. But Tegan's sister. She sounded nice. If she was anything like her wife at all Julie knew she would be warm and compassionate. She tucked some strands of her blond hair behind her ear and listened as Tegan recounted old stories and told her why she was so determined to get to the coast. She knew here sister would be there waiting for her. Julie was in awe. She couldn't believe how sure Tegan was that her sister would be there waiting for her. Julie was already bracing for the disappointment and wondering how she was going to consol her wife when they got there and found an empty house. Julie didn't have the same confidence as Tegan that Sarah Lyell would be alive and well, not because she doubted Sarah or even her wife for that matter. She didn't believe it because she knew how wicked this world had become and happily ever afters didn't really happen all that often anymore. This wasn't a fairy tale, the world didn't give a crap about your plans. Julie hugged her wife and did the only thing she could do. She listened and smiled and silenetly preyed that Sarah Lyell was alive and that she was waiting for them in San Simeon, for Tegan's sake. Julie wanted to find Lane, but it was much more important to Julie for Tegan to find Sarah. It was what Julie wanted and what Tegan wanted. She knew that crazy or not Lane was a survivor he would be ok. Julie looked at Tegan and spoke.
Julie: When we get there baby, i think ima sleep for a month. We got a lot of ground to cover til we get to San Simeon * Julie said in her southern Gerogia accent* But we'll make it there together. And hey *Julie said nudgin Tegan's shoulder* No more leadin the group all by your lonesome k? I'm a help you lead the pack. Take some of the stress off ya baby girl. We can both handle the stress of leadership together. By the way..... *Julie said pushing some of Tegan's hair back. with her hand. God she is so fuckin beautiful. Julie thought. I really need to find some time to spend with her.* i know thangs been going on since we got married and we having really had to time ta talk bout house hunting, but i have very particular tastes and don't even get me started on the interior decorating. * Julie was smiling, she was joking of course but the thought of living in such a place with her wife just made her happy. It wasn't a prison and it wasn't a tiny little isle and it wasn't an abandoned baseball stadium. It was a real home and it was going to be their home* i love you Tamara.
