Damon sat still hardly paying attention to the kid. He didn't really care what his name was. He was getting treated currently, not joining a new club. He chuckled when Eva said they had both found this place.
"I think washed up here is a better description... Only reason I ever headed north was looking over my shoulders. Too many troubles down south." He remembered Samantha's smile. Waking up to someone he cared about. A sense of purpose he used to feel which was now gone. He didn't feel that spark for life in this post apocalyptic nightmare.
Damon was snapped out of his long thought as she asked if he was bit. He shook his head in response "I wouldn't have let you waste supplies on me if I was." He then raised his arm as she continued to treat him and smirked when she asked about if he was shot.
"A few days ago a bullet scraped my calf... It bled quite a bit but I stitched it up swiftly before they caught up to me. Might want a clean?"
He then realized she came across the cut from when he jumped through a car dealership window. He had nearly forgotten that cut was there and looked up offering a hand shake. "Damon... Damon Morris. From England, Miss Eva? I think I heard the guards say."
Eva listened to both guys as they told their personal stories. Both seemed filled with heartache as did everyone's stories. Drake lost his family and wound up at Bartertown. She lost her family and found Bartertown. Damon washed up here, so he claimed, but she knew there had to be something more. He didn't just start this out alone, there was no way that could be his story.
"Well, we're all here now, I suppose." She cleaned up a few more wounds as she looked over the cut from going through a window as Drake followed her lead. "It's okay for me to use supplies. I have a pretty big stash that I collected as I came up from Baltimore. Some for trade, some for horde. I guess we all have some sort of purpose."
She reached back and tossed the dirty rags into an empty bin where she could wash them later. As Drake cut off his story he looked at the back at her and Damon and she noticed he was looking at them both sheepishly.
"Nice to meet you Damon. I'm Evangaline. Most everyone calls me Eva."
She turned back around and cleaned out the deeper cut that was crusted with dried blood and bad stitching. She frowned as she looked at it and she could already see infection starting to inflame the skin around it. "See this Drake? First signs of infection. The red skin around the edge of the cut.." She looked a little closer and pointed to a few spots that had some discharge. She pressed a finger into the skin, just outside the cut and she could see the small streaks starting to form. "That's a sign it's starting to get into the blood stream."
Looking up at Damon she frowned. "You're lucky you got here when you did. This infection is about to hit your bloodstream and if you don't get antibiotics, you'll get sepsis."
She wiped it again with some rubbing alcohol and went to another bin popping open the lid and pulling out a bottle of pills. She showed the label to Drake before handing it over to Damon. "Take these. Twice a day for ten days. Antibiotics. Don't worry about depleting the supply. I can probably find more and I'm sure Samuel would want more capable men here. You seem capable enough."

Drake turned away and tried to shrug it off as he noticed Damen and Eva looking back at him, he put the tray on the shelf and began putting the bandage, alcohol and cotton pads that were left back into their designated stacks, he then grabbed the cotton pads he had used to clean up the blood and threw them away as he walked over to the sink and put the draw inside, he then turned back around and watched as she pressed on the mans wound, he chuckled as he thought about how his little sister would react to for even after seeing what she seen, he then looked at the bottle of pills before she handed them to him, "hey, next time you go out, take me, not sure if your planning on staying or anything but I need to start scavenging again, you know shit to trade" he had a feeling Sam would make him earn his trailer back, it was a small dirty old thing but it stayed warm and was more then enough to keep him comfy

Damon took the pills and stood his legs not feeling the most stable beneath him. He attempted to regain his baring's for a few seconds. His side ached, probably a bruise, and he was still despite treatment not near 100%. Now he had been treated he saw a guard step through the door holding a weapon. The man kept an eye on him studiously. Damon was still a stranger. A threat. Until they knew what to do with him he was obviously to be treated as such.
Damon smirked when she suggested he was capable "I know that's not your medical opinion. Either I'm one lucky bastard or these guards here are going to give me a pretty stern talking to. Ask what groups I was in. What Ive done. Where I have been. Who I killed. Basic information."
He paused for a moment knowing he was about to be forced out the door. "Anyways, If you do ever see me again... don't be afraid to ask for help. Thanks for patching me up Eva."
Damon felt a guard standing behind him knowing they wanted him to leave. He nodded to the boy and Eva before heading out the door. He could be heard asking the guard for a smoke through the wall as he left. He was 70% sure he would be shot in the next hour.
Eva looked to Drake as he took in the visage of the roughly stitched up leg and the infection that was starting to settle in. He wanted to go out on a run with her and normally she would just go on her own. She wasn't used to having people with her. She was in and out, just like that. She always knew what she was looking for and never stopped to window shop. "Yea, sure. I'm not used to taking people with me, but if there's stuff you need, I suppose you can go with me."
Damon started to stand up, thanking her for her treatment and taking the pills she prescribed to help him get his health back.
"Whoa there cowboy, who said you could leave?" She tapped her fingers against his chest as he moved towards the door to see where the guards wanted to take him.
"I didn't sign any release forms for you. You need to lay down and get some rest. We need to get you hydrated again."
She looked at Drake as she used a few wet wipes to clean and sterilize her hands. She still needed to find the box of gloves she took so she could continue to practice here.
"See if you can find some water for Damon here. He needs to drink it all down before he can go."
Turning back to Damon, she crossed her arms and looked down at him.
"You stay here. I'll see if I can find Samuel to come and talk to you."

Drake leaned against the counter and watched Eva occasionally looking up for breif eye contact when she Looked over to make sure he was watching before he looked down again to continue to watch, drake was always able to pick things up from watching first hand "I'll come with, I need to talk to him about the teams" he said referring to the scout and scavenge teams, he only went with people he trusted, and now that was very few, he wondered if the man was staying long and if he would need a head in a scavenge team, drake certainly does, and this guy seems alright, this place is full of monsters and alright guys are hard to come by "don't forget my offer" he said following her out the door

Damon took a seat and reached into his pocket, he didn't realise how tired and dehydrated he was. He was quite sure he would soon be in trouble. From his pocket he pulled out a cigarette and looked at Eva and she shook her head. At her disapproval he put it back in his pocket. He smiled for a moment
"So... Samuel? Samuel the leader, the big boss, the big cheese. The head honcho. That's how you Americans put it in the films. Is he alright or a bit of an off one."
Eva turned back to the counter and used the small sink to draw out some water into a cup for him. The Solo cups were still wrapped, so she opened it up and poured him a fresh cup. Handing the cup to him, she eased him back against the table and smiled.
"You don't have to go anywhere and you're safe here. Just relax. I'll leave you alone to get some rest if you want."
But he was still talking and now asking about the leader of this particular boat community. She moved back to the sink, opening the cabinets and moving things around a bit. "Ha, the big cheese. I don't think they've said that since the 1940s. I guess he's alright. I've barely spoken to the guy. I met him when I got here, he gave me a job and I haven't seen him since. I'm sure he will want to meet you though. I mean, if you're going to stay ..."
She turned an looked at him as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "You should stay. You need to rest, heal and it sounds to me like you really don't have anywhere else to go, right?"
