It was good to hear that Ryder hadn`t crossed paths with those from Yankee Stadium, though that didn`t mean they hadn`t noticed them. After tossing him a can of beer, Alex was asked what to do now, but before he could answer, Joey interrupted and said she was tired, not minding them closing the door on their way out. Amused by her comment he stood up to stretch his legs, though didn`t think her suggestion too farfetched. “No, we ain`t leaving yet hun, we`ll probably have to stay the night together.” Walking over to her, he smiled and leaned close to her face. “On that not, I think we should share the bed.” He spoke with a straight face, not flinching one bit as he said it.
“Nah, just kidding.” He teased and stepped back, adding. “Actually the girls should probably share the bed, me and Ryder can sleep on the floor, best to stay in the same room in this kind of situation. The door will remain locked so we don`t get any unwanted visitors.” Alex suggested, looking to the others as he wondered what they thought. Just then the unexpected happened, a loud ruckus coming from within the building, as if someone stormed the front door, followed by someone yelling. Immediately knowing who that could be, Alex glanced to Ryder and whispered. “Fucking Yankee.”
Rushing over to pick up his supplies, he put them back into the plastic bag as he spoke to the others, looking over the shoulder. “We need to get out of here, now! Pack your belongings; we got no time to loose. Let`s use the fire escape, let’s go!” After hasting his way back to them, he gestured for them to step out of the window so they could use the ladder on the outside. The longer time they used, the closer they got. Allowing the others to climb down first, he covered their exit, facing the door, ready to lash out at anyone who got inside. Once they were far enough down, he followed suit, though was discovered by a soldier who came around the corner. “Hey! They`re here!” The stranger called out for backup.
Gunshots were then fired and Alex was forced to let go of his grip, falling too early from the ladder. As he landed hard on the ground, he twisted his ankle and yelled out. “Fuck!” Crawling to his feet whilst bullets flew around him, he managed to catch up to his friends before more reinforcements arrived.
