Taylor half expected the guy to have abandoned her and the golden dog. But much to her surprise she heard his voice sounding from a good distance away, announcing that there was a back door. The dog was nervous…and Taylor couldn’t blame her…they were like the bait that people held up over alligators in those tourist attractions. Taylor’s head was being hammered with pain, her balance not the best given her recent knock to the skull. But with some effort she was able to stay on her feet, and hang on to the guys not so little dog.
She winced and hefted the dog a little higher and looked up to see the young looking man skid around a corner. She gave a small nod although he wouldn’t see it in the dark. He took off again and several of the dead took chase. Unfortunately they shoved the much needed ladder away from the shelving the duo were on in their haste. “Shit…” She mumbled and the dog gave a little whine as if she too understood the situation. With Buster leading the dead out the back door that would leave the front for her….the front that the dead had broken through minutes ago. Hopefully the majority had cleared out and chased the fleet footed man.
With a few more choice words she turned and stumbled along the top of the shelf as far as she could, stopping only when there was too much merchandise to continue. “Here we go pup…” She said softly, she was going to try to get down without hurting herself…but given the distance…the hard fucking floor…and the way the room was spinning they were likely fucked. She took a breath and lifted the dog as high as she could to try to keep from landing on her. Bending her knees to launched herself from the shelf and hit the floor hard. There were only a few walkers left in the store thanks to Buster. And those were headed towards the back door after some white meat. But when the sharp scream tore from Taylors throat and she fell against the shelving across from her perch she drew the attention of two. Canned food clattered around her feet, there was a sharp loud ringing in her head that was nearly deafening, and her fucking ankles felt like someone had hit them with a sledgehammer.
She dropped Fate with a clattering of her nails on the slick floor. She had lost the pistol when she leapt…where the fuck it went she had no clue. Faith’s loud barking eventually broke through the ringing in her head and Taylor turned to see the two stragglers getting uncomfortably close. “Fuck…” She groaned and reached for the closest thing she could find, a can of chicken noodle soup. The dog wasn’t an idiot…she’d give her that. The golden bark machine was quick to get away from grabbing walker hands and gave Taylor the chance to bash ones skull in with the can. Slick with the blood from the walker she dropped it and turned to find another weapon when the second walker took advantage. He grabbed her arm and quickly brought it to his mouth. Taylor was struggling, desperately trying to grab something…anything… And then she felt nasty cold flesh against her wrist….but no teeth. With wide hazel eyes she turned to look at the toothless walker that was gnawing on her arm.
She laughed….she couldn’t help it…the adrenaline, the fear, and this guy had no fucking teeth! She shoved him against the shelf and was able to pull her wrist away. She clicked her tongue to Fate and they took off towards the front of the store. Taylor stumbled a little but eventually made it to the street, a golden dog right on her heels. It was about that time when she heard the squealing of tires and the roar of a loud engine. Followed by a series of heavy thumps that she could only assume were walkers being ran over…or through. Hopefully Buster didn’t get caught up in that mess…. Taylor took a breath and ran towards the engine sounds. Coming upon the two cars and Buster just as he vomited all over some walker attached to a chain. “What the fuck?” She gasp, still trying to catch her breath. Fate was quick to abandon her in lieu of Buster’s company. Taylor’s chest rose and fell rapidly as she stared at the vehicles and the men, still utterly confused and lost. And the damn ringing in her head was back.
She coughed, sending a rush of blood to her already pounding head. It hurt enough to make her wince. She leaned over with her hands on her knees, partially to catch her breath and partially because the world was spinning again. There were dead walkers everywhere…along with a thick layer of red. She looked down to see a finger under her shoe…just a finger with a wedding ring still attached. She looked up to the men before her eyes settled back on Buster. “….what the hells going on?” She ask, having no idea what the fuck to do…where to go…where she had fucking been.
what makes you think that it'll all work out in the end.
afraid to feel bad. better off to try and pretend. I'm
immortal, immune to all that is wrong. just keep on wishing.
crossing my fingers. so long. is this helping? i'm growning
weaker each day. can't stop whining.
still afraid of what i might say or reactions, that control us one and all.

It's mine, it's pure and as decent as i can make myself.

Why don't you think about that?
so now i'm bleeding on myself yes once again.
seems i trusted another deceitful freind. my fault. should've known the deal.
keep your friends close, but your enemies closer, for real.
seems easy, but nothing could be so hard. trying to guess lifes
dealing. what's the next card? I'm surely folding.
i don't like this hand at all.

Keep those eyes wide open, here comes a blind side.
