Night was now encasing the city of Detroit, the former lands of amazing cars and trucks. Entering from the western part of the city, she was driving down a straight away, passing stores with blown out windows, cars sitting still as if forever waiting for they're masters to return to use them. Mercy was looking for a perfect place to settle down for the remainder of the night until morning. Then she will continue her journey to go further East to see what has become of the other states, or hoping to find a friendly group to take her in. Then, she would travel with them or stay in one spot. It didn't matter to her. She just needed to have some kind of purpose to keep moving on besides just Fate and Faith guiding her into the unknown. Seeing a small motel to the left, she turned the Bronco into the drive and went into the back where she parked right next to a dumpster. Killing the engine and stepping out, she could smell the small traces of gun powder in the air. 'A Gun shot or gun fight...' She thought to herself as she brought the rifle up from her side and undid the collapsible stock out fully and had it in the ball of her shoulder. Locking the driver side door, she didn't have to worry about the other doors since they were always locked. Closing the door gently, she also smelt death in the air coming from the dumpster. On her tip toes, she peered in and saw a dead rotting body inside with a big gunshot wound to the head that looked freshly done. Looking around with the help of the light of the Full moon, she saw the shambling corpses of the dead walking and tumbling along. Slowly moving as well, she backed up and went to the staircase with her rifle fixed on the dead. Feeling the wall and a step finally, she slowly walked up side ways.
Once at the top of the staircase, she tried most of the doors which were locked. But the last one was open. Stepping in, she didn't see nor hear anything inside. Before closing the door, Mercy began to search the room for any type of light source. And to her luck, she found a heavy duty mag light. Aiming it away, she clicked the button and it came to life. Where she aimed it was at the bathroom where she saw where a walker would have been before. Dried blood and very few remains of what was left of a body lay on the tile floor. Standing up slowly, she went to the front door and carefully closed it. As a safety measure, she locked the door handle, and slid the two dead bolt locks. Her heart was pounding deep in her chest as she stepped away from the door and went to the bathroom to see how bad of a scene it really was. Lowering the flashlight, she saw that the body was next to bones now. The skull laid in the bathtub on it's side looking at the one wall. Opening up the window to the bathroom, she began to toss the dried up bones out it. And like that, the bones were gone. Sweat beaded down her forehead and she wiped it away with the sleeve of her jacket. Standing up straight, she went out into the main room where she took off her jacket and tossed it onto the Queen size bed. "If there was two people in this room, a Man and a woman...that would mean luggage somewhere. But where..." Her words trailed off as she looked at the floor just under the bed.
Placing the light on the ground, she turned it to the bed. Laying flat on her belly, she lifted up the comforter and the blanket sheet and saw two bags. Reaching in, she pulled them out and tossed them up onto the bed. Pushing herself up and off the floor that might have seen better days when the place first opened, she picked up the flashlight and looked at the bags. Opening them both, she saw meds, a lot of cigarette packs, a zippo with a pair of doves on it, and alot of tom boy clothing. In the guys bag was more of the odd things. His guyish clothing, then a pink dress, a pigs mask, a strap on, a leather nine tails, a whole lot of lube...like, Industrial size bottle. Her eyes were wide. But she saw something that she liked, under the clothing was an Old Plague Doctor's mask. Picking it up, she looked into the empty eye holes for it. Turning it around, she slid it over her face and tied it. Looking into the mirror with the flashlight, she liked how it looked on her face. But she smelled something from the nose part of it. It smelt like roses and lavender mixed with mint. Taking the mask off, she lit up the nose with the light and saw the mashed up flowers inside the nose. A Real Plague Doctor's mask and she had it in her hands. A dream came true to her. Setting it down on the dresser, she pushed the freaking disgusting bag off the bed and set the females bag down with ease. Taking out a pack of smokes and the zippo, she climbed into the bed and undid her belt. Feeling the relief, she unsheathed her Obsidian knife and laid it on the night stand next to her and grabbed the ash tray. Opening up the menthol pack, she pulled out a cigarette and placed the butt of it on her lips. "Nothing like kicking old habits. Heh, mother would be mad at me but father...he would be proud hahaha." Fling! Flumpf. The fire of the Zippo lit up the room a bit as she lit the cigarette. Closing the Zippo with a click, she shot out the jets of smoke as she relaxed there for a moment.
It felt good to relax for a bit as she laid there looking at the walls and the ceiling, thinking that she could make this place a new home with alittle work here and there. Mercy was used to these sorts of places by now. Taking another drag off the cig, she tapped the ash into the ashtray and released more smoke into the room. A cold gentle breeze hit her which made her quickly spin in her spot to see that the window was open a bit to let in fresh air. Standing up on the bed, she looked out and saw the two story drop. Nodding her head, she said to herself lightly. "Good to know that this is here...now I don't have to worry about myself getting to hot and having to shred off layers of clothing til I'm in my undies. If only I had someone to be with...wouldn't care if I was bunked up with a Lesbian or a gay guy. Atleast it's company." Settling back down onto the bed. her body began to feel relaxed from the sudden tension of her muscles. Looking at her rifle, she slid it up to her and unholstered her handgun and set that under the pillows. Looking down at the Cigarette, it was near dead. Taking one last puff from it and blowing it, she killed it by tapping it dead in the crystal. Placing it on the night stand, she turned off the flashlight to conserve the batteries inside it. Sliding down a bit so her head hit the fluffy pillows, she felt sleep creeping up on her until she was then finally asleep.
