Dannie watched as the red light flickered away from her and moved to Jake who was mouthing off. This was not the right time to say things like that. Then again, it was not right of Logan and his people to take away their only means of escape.
"Tell your sniper to lay off!"
She turned back to Jake and gestured with her hands for him to put his gun down.
"Holster it. We don't need any flying bullets right now."
Turning back to Logan as he spoke about taking care of any dangerous situations for them, she had good mind to rattle off more obscenities to him and take of him Chicago style. But, as he said, they were outgunned and outnumbered.
"Look buddy, I don't know you from any other bandit in town. As far as I'm concerned, you are the one who could be the bad guy. Trust nobody."
She looked at Sterling who seemed to be trying to keep a calm, cool countenance. They had to as cops. They had to keep their shit together when their hands were forced and this was no exception.
"That girl? The only thing I know about her is her name, so I really don't give a shit what happens to her." Even though she did. It was still that nagging duty to protect others who couldn't protect themselves, which is why she let this handful of strangers come into the cabin in the first place.
"The ONLY reason why I'm willing to head to your complex is because we can't stay here. But, you give us back our cars and we'll follow. You take that girl as collateral if you want, but the rest of us are driving. Any funny business and know that we'll use everything we have to get away. We're not your prisoners, got it?"
